Hello everyone!

What you are going to read below is about something which really we have no clue about, but all of us here (atleast here) realizes its existence.

We do have a set of beliefs or ideas as to what this could be but surely no one has a definitive explanation.

I am talking about the inner me and inner you.
I am going to share what i think about the soul and how it (may) exist.

Part A
**************
We have widely accepted our soul to be within us...
The voice of reason, truth & realty is what keeps us going.

Could there be a possibility of one having more than one soul?
Let me reason with you.....

1)
There are always TWO voices within me.
One which completely agrees with me & one which gives me an alternative.
One of the two voices always SEEMS to be my voice & the other seems to be 'the other'
Though it does not feel foreign, that it is from out of me, it does not always feel to be ME.
It seems to be the 'enemy within' to put it in matter of the context.

Yes i know everyone feels & hears this voice & this is the conscience telling us what is the right thing to do.

There is always a voice which gives you a choice.
A voice whose choice is always opposite to the voice that feels like yours.

let us take this a step ahead:
2)
I am certain none of us here are angels nor are we devils.
I am also certain that with the right circumstance, we have behaved like angels & at the same time behaved like devils.
We have at least once in our life done something bad/evil that really takes us aback.
We are shocked to think that we have been able to do something like this which we always thought was impossible for us.

How is it that we are able to do certain things with such conviction & perfection that when we are in the process of doing, it almost feels like second nature?
it is an accepted phenomenon that a baby when it is born, already has some knowledge brought over from its previous lives.
There are certain characteristics about an individual which makes him who he is.
These characteristics when observed by general public gives him a label - a nice guy, a sadistic guy etc.
So don't you think for a person to do something really bad, for a person to think evil,
there must be something within him that prompts the ideas!

Icing on the cake here-
A soul is always considered to be pure, full of goodness & love.
IF there is one soul within us, should we also mirror that image.
At least have nothing totally 'bad'?
I do not believe that because we are humans & because of the opportunities in front of us we take the necessary steps.
You can not do anything that you can not imagine.. cos anything that can't be imagined ideally should not exit.

3)

Dissociative identity disorder is a psychiatric diagnosis and describes a condition in which a person displays multiple distinct identities (known as alters or parts), each with its own pattern of perceiving and interacting with the environment.

To add a lot more fire into point 2, we have instances of people not displaying just TWO characteristics of opposite polarities (good vs bad), we have innumerable instances of people suffering with multiple identities.
Looking at this closely, the physical shell in all conditions is the same, only what is WITHIN has changed.

A split personality is so strong that individuals at times do not even realize they were somebody else!
Each person who 'comes out' and shows himself is so profoundly different in terms of speech, attitude, thought, characteristics, etc etc.....
Where are the inputs to the brain to behave in a certain & unique way that is completely absent in all other situations!
As humans are we so capable of 'mind shifting' or 'alternate mind mapping'?

Well, is there a possibility that more than one soul can occupy a single container or body?
Rather, is it so difficult to imagine a situation like this existing considering how little we know about the human mind, body * soul what with all the irregularities we notice?

There are those who say that for lives of a lower consciousness like plant & animal life there
exists one soul for more than one life form...
now considering us to be of a higher level of consciousness, is it possible for more than one soul to guide us in this plane of existence?

***********

Part B:
Will keep this really short, as this idea may be a little shocking too....

Is it really necessary for the exist to physically present INSIDE of us?
If the soul is as important as it is to existence in general, will it really be risked inside a fragile casing like our body?

IS there a chance that within us is a projection of the soul.
The silver cord which people see in OOBEs & NDE's?
Could this be the medium through which communication takes place between the projection inside of us & the actual soul (or idea behind the soul) takes place?

I think this should be enough to tickle a few brain cells :)
The thoughts i have penned above are among those which i have spent a very very large part of my conscious life wondering about...

Please do let me know your thoughts!

Peace, Love & Happiness

Errrr... So far out is it?

I believe that the body is inside the soul, not the soul inside the body, because isn't it the soul that picks up a body? The body does not choose the soul, but the other way around.
And I don't believe that the soul is pure and loving. When it chooses a body, it already carries so many lifetimes of conditioning, traumas, beliefs (one's own and others') so that perhaps the soul was, once upon a time (?) pure and loving, but through experiences it becomes tained and tarnished. And how to get back to purity? That's what I've been pondering for so many years! It must be possible, but the powers that be keep preventing us from returning to purity by throwing more curves on our paths. And then the body carries ancestral body memories which end up adding more confusion to the mix. How can we sort it all out? That knowledge is within us, but how do we access it? And when we do access things that feel "true", how do we know they are truth and not beliefs that the mind has picked up along the way? I don't have the answer. Does anone?

hmmm.. not that's a thought i never thought of :)
thanks DoT...

I get the fact that soul gets used with time and is a mix of a lot of good and bad..
somehow i always want to believe that my soul is actually completely pure.

at least something within (or outside like you propose) should be a beacon to purity & peace

Of course something within remains pure, but it's so loaded with conditioning and wrong beliefs and pain that it rarely shines anymore, at least, not as much as it is meant to. Otherwise, how does one explain a good person doing bad things? And I know that for all the good I've done to others, and all the unconditional love I've given, and all the understanding I've granted to many who seemingly did not deserve it, I still sometimes have thoughts whereby sometimes I want to destroy those who've hurt me (not that I actually would ever do it!) and most of us have these feelings from time to time. So if our soul is pure, how could it have such thoughts? A pure soul would simply let go. A soul conditioned to resent, does not want to let go, and this makes the soul impure, in my opinion. And of course, we can return to purity, I just don't quite know how. But it's probably a long road back to purity for most of the planet.

Well said.. Wise words..
These conclusions lead me to 2 possibility :
a) one soul inside of us which has been 'corrupted' over time leading to exactly opposite actions
b) more than a single soul influencing us.

each of our actions are definite.
They have a mental thought process preceding it which will ultimately name the action as positive or negative.
Could we harbor more than one soul which influences certain thoughts & actions each

I feel that there's no doubt about being influenced by other souls. The souls of those who have died who were misguided, do not suddenly become pure upon passing. They continue to be misguided and they influence those around them. And what can happen after death can be another grand opera. And, of course, as you already know, I am utterly convinced that our own soul has been misguided as well. As I stated above, it's all so complicated, at least, that's how it seems. There are so many layers of what makes us who we are and trying to find our way out to be who we truly want to be can feel like going through a labyrinth of torture. For some, life is, literally, torture. For others, it just feels that way. But I digress, souls.... I believe our bodies inhabit one single soul, unless the body is possessed by the soul of someone who has passed but doesn't want to move on and chooses to live in someone else's body. I could go on and on about this, but it really is rather late where I live and I must log out. Thank you for the conversation letmedanz. May you have a good 11/11/11.
