There’s just so much wrong with the society and culture in the US. Here we have a child sexual abuse case, with Penn State, and their beloved coach not fully reporting the incident when it happened. Now that it’s coming back to bite them in the ass, the board does the right thing and fires the coach for his negligence in the matter. If you are told, by one of your other students, that they witnessed one of your coaches sodomizing a 10 year old in the locker room showers, after you’re finished beating the crap out of the coach, you call the police.

This guy just reported it to his superior and let it go. How do you sleep at night??

Now, the students, after hearing that this coach was let go, began protesting/rioting on campus, turning over news vans and such.

Really??

They have such passion and resolve about a guy being fired for being a dumb ass and not reporting a child sex assault properly, rather than all of the other crap that’s going on in the world, let alone just this country?? It kind of sickens me. Oh sure, we’ll let BP ruin the Gulf, (we don’t live there), we’ll let the government drag our economy into the crappy, while they and the bankers continue to get rich, (just as long as we have the latest version of Battlefield 3), we’ll continue to let Monsanto rewrite nature with their GM crops while subsequently the rewrite our DNA, we’ll let Fukushima continue to generate copious amounts of radiation that continues to poison our west coast and beyond, we’ll let the other countless atrocities being committed in the name of democracy around the world continue, but we’re pissed that our coach got fired!

I want off this rock.

Sure it is, but what a lot of us don't understand is that it is made with *ACTIONS*, not *WORDS*! ;)

It is sad, but this too often typifies jock mentality. It was rising above this testosterone driven animal behavior that made Muhammed Ali, the greatest. There are others, to be sure, but they are either in the minority or criminally reserved.

I couldn't have said it better myself. And if I have to come back here, I'll be sure that it's with some primitive indigenous culture, away from any governments or skyscrapers.........

I'd disagree jcocks, if it was a matter of choice, then people wouldn't choose to be born into poverty or famine.

Your choices can and do affect the future, down many many generations of many many family lines, but you can't stop the wheel of life my friend.

The only choice we have is to end our current incarnation. Right or wrong on this is subjective, and a matter of personal cicumstance, however.
