"Alleged" assassination attempt/my little town

hey everybody..... news from my little town: "A 21 year old man accused of firing a semiautomatic at the white house last week has been formally charged with attempting to assassinate president obama."

they found this man 2.5 miles from my home at a hampton inn. what i feel is strange about this is the fact that there really isn't any background on how they followed the trail to find this man. and why on gaia's green earth would he come here. i suppose it's quite possible that at one time he was a student here at our small university. but how did they know who they were looking for and how did they know he was here?

i am still looking up the stories of what happened on the net, but if any of you folks have any additional information, i'd love to read about it.

This guy might just be insane, because no one sane would fire at the whitehouse without fearing to be arrested. Anyway, if he was really sane, and really intended to kill your beloved president, he would certainly come up with a better plan, right?

i'm thinking that somehow, they would have found him regardless of where he went or how he got there...... i just can't figure out how, why and what they used to track him.... from what i understand, the secret service might have been here before he was. strange....... i'm still looking for more information, will definitely post if i do.

Could they have used his cell phone or was it the surveillance system built up around us. I have always woundered if they can start at a crime scene and go backwards and forward. You never know what is being recorded now.
