(Must Watch) til the End...

Pepper spray: US campus police chief suspended

Peaceful Students 'Pepper Sprayed' for their vigil in support of (OWS).

On Friday, video of campus police pepper-spraying peaceful demonstrators went viral on the internet, causing widespread outrage.

Two other campus police officers, who allegedly sprayed the students, are already on administrative leave.

It follows an incident at UC Berkeley when police hit protesters with batons.

2. UC Davis Chancellor Katehi (Walk of Shame)

A pretty remarkable thing just happened. A press conference, scheduled for *4:00pm* between the UC Davis Chancellor and police with local press on campus, did not end in an hour, as planned. Instead, a mass of Occupy Davis students and sympathizers mobilized outside, demanding to have their voice heard. After some initial confusion, UC Chancellor Linda Katehi refused to leave the building, attempting to give the media the impression that the students were somehow holding her hostage.

A group of highly organized students formed a large gap for the chancellor to leave. They chanted “we are peaceful” and “just walk home,” but nothing changed for several hours. Eventually student representatives convinced the chancellor to leave after telling their fellow students to sit down and lock arms (around 7:00pm).

Great stuff. I saw this yesterday and was waiting for today to see how it was handled in the press. I agree, the students did a terrific job of peaceful resistance...and making their point and voices heard!

I look forward to more of the same in other areas of OWS. :hippie::victory: :yes4:

Maybe it is time to purchase some swim goggles? It would definitely afford some protection. Some bicycle helmets would also help, for those other moments.
While we're on a sports theme, maybe some Louisville sluggers in case the days get boring and the protesters could indulge in a little softball to boost team spirit .

Wow. Talk about the walk of shame. You could hear a pin drop. That was kind of spooky and worked better than a screaming crowd. GO AGGIES!!!

Sorry to go off topic...but can someone PLEASE tell me why I keep getting logged out every time I go to press the thank button. Sometimes I have to log in 2 to 3 times to make one post and 3 to 4 times to give one person a “thanks”. It’s starting to get a bit annoying, thanks in advance.

Peace

Despite their uniforms, body armor, helmets, face shields and being armed to the teeth, they were sh^t-scared of the unarmed protestors who could so easily have overwhelmed them, had they chosen to do so.

We, the people, will not tolerate their crap any more.

If you have to login several times in the same short (few minutes) period of time, then I'm not sure what's going on. I'd guess either a problem with getting the right password, or a problem with your local browser being able to create the necessary cookie, or something else that I can't guess.

If you have to login again after a period of an hour or two of little or no activity on the forum, then you can avoid that by checking the "Remember Me?" box, just below your login name, when you login.

I do not recognize those instructions. I'm not sure what they accomplish.

(Quite possibly they accomplish something quite useful, and I just don't know of it. :).)
