"As many of you may know, there is currently a bill moving through the House that at the very least would drastically change the way that the alternative media, as well as the entire internet, operates." Source: http://thetruthbehindthescenes.wordpress.com/

On 9 December 2011, a conference entitled ‘Freedom Online: Joint Action for Free Expression on the Internet’ is taking place. To be attended by Hillary Clinton, the conference will be hosted by Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs Uri Rosenthal.

Per article, the website, Americancensorship.org has put together easy to use tools to mail Congress and get the word out about this disgusting bill.

The actual bill they want to pass: www.opencongress.org/bill/112-s968/show

The Meshnet (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1qc-45mQjcs5ous-QxUMAk5bHuVrJLLSigzdWlTVTKIg/edit?pli=1) plan might offer an answer to this proposal. It looks as if it may be more challenging to implement in rural areas, but not impossible.
