i camp a lot and i've got the gerber junior machette in my bug out bag,it comes pretty sharp but does need more sharpening on a japanese water stone to get it up to scratch,its a good tool and comes with saw teeth on the back edge of the blade which is handy but causes problems if your using a batton with it to split woood,the saw teeth basically rip the batton apart,their normal machette that comes in that pack would only be of any use if you were in dense jungle or simular and is very long,if you got yourself a mora clipper knife and a short machette with a flat back edge would be a lot better than that kit and a lot bloody cheaper :)
