The Face Parade

This is a phenomenon that usually occurs when I am falling asleep and in the sort of zone that can lead to a lucid dream or an astral projection.

I see faces, one after the other, incredibly quickly, like a flick-book almost. The images are those crisper than crisp, HD quality ones. Lucid dreamers will know what I'm talking about.

Not all of the faces are human - some are animal, and some of them are something else entirely. I have theorised about this, but I don't claim to know exactly what causes it or what I am seeing.

Something that troubles me though: when sleeping alone they are usually just fascinating, and though highly varied, largely benign or impartial looking. However, I have had several experiences of this phenomenon while falling asleep next to the woman I love, and that is when they tend to take what I can only describe as a demonic hue. Monstrous, but in unexpected ways. Not Hollywood monstrous, if you see what I mean. Disturbing.

She is a very high stress person in a high stress job, she can be an absolute nightmare, and our relationship has been fraught to say the least. I'm sure you can guess the sort of theories I have entertained on this matter, but I don't get along with Catholic priests, so that option's a no-go. Besides, their hocus pocus has no merit. If it works on possessing entities then it works on exactly the same principle that it would work on me. A man in a dress chucking water about, waving an icon of credulity under my nose and shouting at me in Latin would make me vacate whatever room or person I was in at the time too.

If anyone experiences the same thing I would like to hear your theories or knowledge as to what it is we're seeing.

It´s nice to know you have experience with this as well. I also see all kinds of faces and all sorts of random scenes from people and places I´ve never personally known.

This is called the hypnogogic state, when you´re about to fall asleep. The mainstream doctors call them hypnogogic hallucinations and they say it´s a pretty normal phenomenon. However, by my experience, I´ve noticed that they are quite fascinating and spiritual.

About seeing bad faces when sleeping with other person, I´ve never experienced it, but maybe you´re correct about your girl´s energy interfering with yours.

I wonder if it's yet another of those things the mainstream doctors have no explanation for and therefore assume it's not worth considering. A psychiatrist recently told me very dismissively that nutrition plays no part in mental health. (No, by the way, I am not under a psychiatrist, haha). There seems to be an awful lot of forcing of square pegs into round holes in the Pharma dictated paradigm, and indeed the 'scientific' one.

What the experiences with my girlfriend have made me think is something along the lines of what a Dr, Modi wrote about in a book whose title I disremember. I have to nip out for a bit, but I will google it when I return and see if anyone else knows who I mean. It's a bit like the ideas of the Tom Cruise lot, about entities that latch onto your etheric field or something like that. I'm not closed-minded about these things. I may not be a Scientologist, but that doesn't mean I have to dismiss everything they say.

Hi Borden, I experience this too, one face recently was speaking but no sound, sometimes I see letter or page with writing on it just slightly out of focus or sometimes scroling text. I don't have any theories about this sorry.

Yeah...I usually don´t listen to these kind of doctors as well.

There certainly are entities that may or may not feed from our energy, specially when we sleep.

However, I´m not sure if this is the case. At least, when it happens to me, I feel more like it´s some kind of remote viewing process or some kind of memories from past lives.

You know that's how it feels to me too, and while some famous psychic told my Mum many years ago that I was the oldest soul she'd ever encountered ... I can't have had that many lives! Also, it makes me think I must be an idiot ... to keep having to come back! Doh!

This is very weird indeed...The fact is that I don´t know what it´s about. I have no control over it; the images, movies, symbols, numbers, faces, just keep coming and going very rapidly until I fall asleep.

Hey! Maybe, in one of those moments, I could have seen your face and you could have seen mine! :) How cool is that? Maybe it´s just a bunch of sensitive persons seeing each other´s faces, in some kind of crazy reminiscent ancient telepathy skills manifestation!

You know, now that you mention it, I believe I get the same thing: a moving mouth but the sound 'turned off'. I definitely have had experience of writing also ... but always too quickly scrolling or moving sideways for me to read and understand. What are we seeing?
