Rapidly unfolding biosphere changes are pushing the human race ever further into completely uncharted territory. Environmental unraveling, official denial and societal apathy, all are advancing in complete unison. Some scientists claim civilizations can “adapt”, how is that adapting going so far? Does available data support the conclusion that humanity can adapt to what is unfolding? How desperate will global power centers become as biosphere conditions deteriorate?
It can be frustrating and demoralizing when so few seem to care about all that is unfolding around us, but we must not allow the apathy of others to thwart our calling of conscience. Each of us can make a much bigger difference for the better than we might imagine is possible, we need only to try and to keep marching in the right direction.

Göbekli Tepe, The Younger Dryas & Reconstructing The Ancient Zodiac
Published 16th September 2019
Gobekli Tepe is an enigma of the ancient world, a huge site containing circular enclosures made up of huge T-Shaped pillars that date back to at least the 10th millennium BC. So far, only a handful of the enclosures have been excavated and many more remain below ground.
Scientist and author, Martin Sweatman, believes Pillar 43 is a star map and using computer software, Sweatman worked out that it is a map of the sky showing the Summer Solstice at 10,950 BC, a date that coincides with the Younger Dryas Event.
This event, as I have discussed in a previous video saw a dramatic change in global temperature that many scientists and independent researchers believe was caused by a series of asteroid or meteor strikes in the northern hemisphere.
In this video, I take a closer look at the work of Martin Sweatman as he worked to re-construct the zodiac of our ancient ancestors and show how the pillars of Gobekli Tepe pinpoint this Earth-shattering cosmic event.
He uses the reliefs of Gobekli Tepe, ancient cave art from France and Spain, as well as imagery displayed on the altars of the ancient site of Catalhoyuk to re-create the signs of the zodiac as used by our ancestors, for example, the lion or leopard was not Leo, but Cancer, and Taurus was a rhino and not a bull.
The work is of course objective but Sweatman takes a fresh and methodical approach to interpreting the ancient site of Gobekli Tepe.

Could We Terraform Mars?
Published 16th September 2019
Humanity’s future is glorious. As we master space travel, we’ll hop from one lifeless world to the next. Life will blossom in our path and the galaxy with shimmer with beautiful Earth-like orbs. Hmmm… maybe. This won’t sound so far fetched if we prove we can do it at least once. If we successfully terraform Mars.
We already have the technology to bring humans safely to Mars and set up small settlements - or at least could do within a generation. But those settlements will need to be cocooned - shielded against the deadly cold, intense radiation, and the fatal lack of atmospheric pressure. Surely if we want to thrive on Mars – to make it into our second home – these settlers, or their descendants, will need to be able open the airlocks, shed their spacesuits, and step out onto a survivable surface. We’ll need to terraform Mars, as our first step in terraforming the galaxy.

Aaron Cummings | "Uptime 15,364 days - The Computers Of Voyager"
Published 14th September 2019
The Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 space probes, both launched in 1977, each had a primary objective to explore Jupiter and Saturn. This goal was achieved by 1981. Yet Voyager, NASA's longest running mission, has continued to this day. Both Voyager probes are still operating, and returning scientific data from outside our solar system.
This talk explores the computing systems of Voyager - the systems which enable remote control of the spacecraft, and provide for the recording and return of data to Earth. These systems have proved to be both adaptable, durable, and resilient in support of a scientific undertaking now in it's fifth decade.
What can we learn from the engineering of Voyager's computing systems? Why have they survived for so long in the harsh environment of space? What is involved in patching a system from a billion miles away? And what does the future hold?

Gobekli Tepe Zodiac Hypothesis: Questions Answered
Published 18th September 2019
As many of you will have seen over the past couple of weeks, I have recently covered the work of Martin Sweatman and his interpretation on Gobekli Tepe, that the Vulture Stone or Pillar 43 is in fact a star map documenting the time on 10,950 BC.
It is a great hypothesis and I gave it the air time it deserves but not everybody is convinced by his work, which leads me to a paper by the archaeologists who are currently working on Gobekli Tepe, in answer to Sweatman’s hypothesis.
In the video I offer their points of view and why they think Sweatman's hypothesis may not be true, but I also offer Sweatman's response to their points.
It's an interesting discussion and with so much of the site still yet to excavate, the definitive answers we are searching for may still be waiting for us underground.
You can read both the paper from the archaeologists, as well as the response from Martin Sweatman at https://www.academia.edu/33931844/MORE_THAN_A_VULTURE_A_RESPONSE_TO_SWEATMAN_AND_TSIKRITSIS

Want To Explore Mars? Send Humans To The Moons Of Mars First: Phobos & Deimos
Published 17th September 2019
Humans to Mars. That’s the plan right? The problem is that sending humans down to the surface of Mars is one of the most complicated and ambitious goals that we can attempt. It’s a huge step to go from low Earth orbit, then lunar landings, and then all the way to Mars, a journey of hundreds of millions of kilometers and 2 years at the least.
But there are two places humans can go which are a stepping stone between Earth and Mars. Base camps that would let us gather our resources in relative safety before dropping down into that gravity well.
I’m talking about the moons of Mars: Phobos and Deimos.

New Images Show Rapid Changes In Jupiter's Great Red Spot
Published 19th September 2019
Jupiter’s iconic Great Red Spot is a 10,000-mile-wide (16,000-kilometer-wide) storm that has been raging since at least the 1800s — and possibly for more than 350 years.
Observations with NASA’s Juno spacecraft previously indicated that the vertical extent of the Great Red Spot is over 120 miles (200 kilometers), consistent with a storm feature that develops deep in Jupiter’s atmosphere. Since NASA’s Voyager spacecraft visited Jupiter in 1979, the Great Red Spot has shrunk from about the size of 1.8 Earths to the size of about 1.3 Earths today.
NASA’s Juno spacecraft has imaged the Great Red Spot numerous times, providing unique information on the details of how the Great Red Spot dynamically changes while it is shrinking.

Published 17th September 2019
The center of the Milky Way hosts the closest supermassive black hole and nuclear star cluster to the Earth, offering us the opportunity to study the physics of supermassive black holes and their environment at a level of detail not possible elsewhere. I will discuss three major questions that are at the forefront of Galactic center research: (1) Is General Relativity the correct description of supermassive black holes? (2) What is the nature of the near-infrared emission from Sgr A*? and (3) How do nuclear star clusters form and evolve in the vicinity of a supermassive black hole? I will show how the long time-baseline of Galactic center observations, improved instrumental capabilities, and use of statistical methods to combine many types of data have led us to new insights into these questions. I will discuss the measurement of the relativistic redshift from the star S0-2 as it went through its closest approach to the supermassive black hole in 2018, Sgr A*'s unusual activity in 2019, and the results from the first chemical-dynamical model of the Milky Way Nuclear Star Cluster.

A Hole In The Sun's Atmosphere Is Facing Earth - Spotless Sun Sparks Bright Auroras
Published 21st September 2019
A hole in the sun's atmosphere is facing Earth and spewing a stream of solar wind in our direction. Estimated time of arrival: Sept. 23rd. Arriving on the first day of northern autumn, the gaseous material could spark a nice display of equinox auroras around the Arctic Circle. Solar wind speeds are expected to be in the 450-550 km/s range based on STEREO-A MAG & PLASTIC data.
Today marks the 18th consecutive day the face of the Sun is utterly blank. NOAA classified solar activity as very low. At the same time, bright auroras reported around the Arctic Circle. Since the start of this week, not a single day went by without auroral displays. Auroras reported in Alaska, Sweden, Iceland, Norway, Finland and Canada. All without a single sunspot.
High latitude skywatchers should stay alert when is dark outside. September Equinox puts Earth in the perfect position for aurora.

Space News | Wal Thornhill | SAFIRE & The Future Of Science
Published 21st September 2019
It is generally not known that an alternative Electric Sun model was proposed in 1979 by the engineer Ralph Juergens. It explains simply the critical longevity of all electric lights — it is plugged into a galactic circuit. And galactic circuits are the basis of Plasma Cosmology, which is ignored by astrophysicists but was developed by experimental plasma scientists and engineers in the 20th century. Plasma Cosmology is simply explanative and has proven to be predictive — quite unlike mathematical big bang cosmology.
Only in the last few years have the circumstances arisen to enable the more recent Electric Sun model to be tested. Called the SAFIRE Project, the cutting edge engineering firm Aurtas International Inc. was contracted by The International Science Foundation to experimentally test the Electric Sun Model. Aurtas International Inc. is an independent body, which has no affiliation with The Electric Universe or The Thunderbolts Project. Recently, the SAFIRE team shared an extraordinary update on their results to date.
In part one of this two-part presentation, our chief science advisor, physicist Wal Thornhill, discusses the SAFIRE experiment, its results and its promise for the future.

Views Of Earth From A Million Miles Away - DSCOVR & EPIC
Published 21st September 2019
It's been months since DSCOVR stopped sending out regular images of the Earth, from the L1 point between the Earth and the Sun. At this point the prospects for recovery seem remote so I took the data we have and compiled some cleaned up animations showing views of the Earth from the space. The video shows how the viewpoint changes through the year as the Earth orbits the sun and the spacecraft librates around the Lagrange point.

The World's First Space Crime? IN SPACE! (Real Law Review)
Published 20th September 2019
In space, no one can hear you commit... identity theft.
Summer Worden, a former Air Force intelligence officer, has accused her ex-spouse, Anne McClain, a decorated NASA astronaut, of identity theft and improper access to private financial records.
When Worden became suspicious of McClain, she asked her bank to trace the location of any computers that had recently accessed her bank account using her own login credentials. One, it turned out, was in outer space aboard the International Space Station.
Acknowledge that she had indeed accessed Worden’s account while in outer space, McClain defended her actions and claimed that she was merely taking care of the couple’s intermingled finances.
Nonetheless, Worden filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and her family filed yet another with NASA’s Office of the Inspector General. Both could be historic in that they contain the first allegation of criminal wrongdoing in space.
What happens when a crime is committed in space? Who has jurisdiction? Who are the space police? Where is space jail?

Better Than Earth? Are There Superhabitable Worlds In The Milky Way?
Published 20th September 2019
I’ve said many times in the past that the Earth is the best planet in the Universe. No matter where we go, we’ll never find a planet that’s a better home to Earth life than Earth. Of course, that’s because we, and all other Earth life evolved in this environment. Evolution adapted us to this planet, and it’s unlikely we could ever find another planet this good for us.
However, is it the best planet? Are there places in the Universe which might have the conditions for more diversity of life?

How Can Scientists Detect Water Vapour On A Distant Exoplanet? K2-18b Explained!
Published 19th September 2019
What is an Exoplanet? What is K2-18b? How do astronomers find exoplanets? How can they tell that water vapor is in the atmosphere of an exoplanet?
In this video, I explain the recent discovery regarding the exoplanet K2-18b. Scientists detected that this exoplanet, which exists in the habitable zone/Goldilocks Zone, has water vapor in its atmosphere.
I start the video by discussing what an exoplanet is, being a planet that orbits around a star other than our Sun. Then we discuss some of the characteristics of K2-18b. Following this discussion, we mention a few different ways of detecting exoplanets, including the Doppler Effect, local position of Stars, and the Transit Method. I spend more time discussing the Transit method, comparing it to a Solar Eclipse that we experience here on Earth, and Transits of the planets Venus and Mercury.
Using this information regarding the transit method, we can introduce spectroscopy and how light traveling through an exoplanet's atmosphere is altered due to the absorption and emission spectrum.

Alien Abduction, Interrogation and Life Turned UPSIDE DOWN! What Happened?
Published 19th September 2019
The story of Terry Lovelace is SO deep, SO multifaceted, SO harrowing, that involves endless twists and turns.
This a story that continues to unravel to this day.
That story was documented in his book, Incident at Devil’s Den - A True Story.
This is about alien abduction. One of the strangest accounts I have ever heard, but the strangeness just begins with the abduction.
What would follow his encounter carries all the makings of a SCI FI thriller, except this isn’t science fiction at all.
Terry, an otherwise “normal guy” - a lawyer, a former assistant attorney general, a family man, father and grandfather is also an experiencer - a contactee who’s encounters have taken him down a rabbit hole the likes of which I’d never heard before.
Terry was very emotional during our interview, and for good reason. Re-living the days, weeks, and years that would follow his set of experiences, recurring nightmares and an unrelenting passion to make sure that the world knows what he feels is really going on with many humans on this planet.
Be sure to listen to Terry Lovelace's interview with Project Camelot and Kerry Cassidy to get the FULL story of his experience at Devils Den and much more! https://youtu.be/zUnpNc9ZeEc

Irena Scott, Ph.D. | Secret Corridors
Published 20th September 2019
Dr. Irena Scott has actually walked down the sacred corridors and hidden passageways where UFO studies took place, when she worked in several crucial UFO investigatory agencies. Her exposure to these investigations allowed her to obtain real documents, not the usual "informants" stories and legends. Including hidden studies showing that UFOs really exist, interviews with researchers, taking photographs, obtaining documents, leaked information, informants, and much else. Her smoking gun revelations have already attracted much attention including a possible new Roswell witness, accounts about possible Memory Metal and Elroy John Center, the Cordell Hull report, and many others. She has found many additional smoking guns that are reported here, some with even higher credibility, such as evidence that an alloy company had received a debris sample to analyze and its composition. Her exploration of Wright-Patterson AFB includes interviews of top researchers, photographs showing hidden views and possible tunnels and vaults, bodies in crypts, and a visit to its famous "Blue Room." She obtained actual documents from Project Blue Book studies, showing what took place, interviews with those involved with the studies, opinions of those at the top about UFOs including Battelle Memorial Institute presidents, and other top researchers. She has handwritten documents of scientist and ufologist Dr. J. Allen Hynek that are spontaneous and let the reader get to know the actual person behind his outside veneer shown in his published works. These tell about his many investigations, his opinions, and even contain information about such people as Neil Armstrong and his possible interest in UFO phenomenon. Scott has delved deeply into the legendary roots of UFO study and often found confirmation. She has worked for the Defense Intelligence Agency, Battelle Memorial Institute, and attended conferences at Wright-Patterson AFB.

Ed DeLuca & Jenna Samra | Chasing The Total Solar Eclipse @ 43,000 Feet
Published 19th September 2019
The sun's corona is notable for its million-degree temperatures and its violent eruptions, both of which are powered by energy from its magnetic field. Measuring the coronal magnetic field is key to understanding how this energy is stored, converted to heat, and rapidly released in eruptive events. A new CfA instrument has taken a step toward making this difficult measurement by viewing the last two total solar eclipses from a high-altitude airplane. By observing infrared light emitted by the corona, the Airborne Infrared Spectrometer (AIR-Spec) measures the corona's temperature and density and paves the way for a future instrument that will measure its magnetic field. To view each eclipse, the instrument and its operators flew in the National Science Foundation's Gulfstream V aircraft at an altitude of over 43,000 feet, above the clouds and most of the infrared-absorbing gas in earth's atmosphere. Ed DeLuca and Jenna Samra will talk about the solar corona, the instrument they built, and what they learned by observing the eclipse in infrared light from an airplane.

Raffaella Margutti, Feryal Özel & Victor Krabbendam | LSST & Black Holes
Recorded 15th August & Published 23rd September 2019
The Large Synoptic Survey Telescope (LSST) is approaching completion on the Cerro Pachón ridge in north-central Chile. When science operations begin in 2022, LSST will scan the sky with the world’s largest digital camera, creating a 500 petabyte set of images and data products that will address the most pressing questions about the structure and evolution of the universe and the objects in it. Among these objects are black holes, objects so dense they warp the fabric of space-time, objects whose incredible properties are only recently becoming known to us. You are invited to join us for an evening of black hole science and learn about Tucson’s leadership role in LSST’s voyage of scientific discovery.
During this public event, LSST Project Manager Victor Krabbendam will provide an update on LSST construction progress, University of Arizona astrophysicist Feryal Özel will discuss the latest black hole discoveries from the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) and Northwestern University’s Raffaella Margutti will describe what we have learned from the first multi-messenger observations of a neutron star merger with gravitational waves and light, and what might be revealed when LSST begins its ten-year survey.
Speakers:
Raffaella Margutti, Northwestern University
Raffaella Margutti is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics & Astronomy at Northwestern University. She utilizes observations of transient astrophysical phenomena including stellar explosions and stellar tidal disruptions by supermassive black holes. She serves as the chair of the Gravitational Wave source follow-up with LSST within the LSST Transient and Variable Stars science collaboration. As an astrophysicist, her research specifically focuses on the biggest explosions and disruptions that occur in our Universe: Supernovae, Gamma-Ray Bursts, compact stellar mergers that are sources of gravitational waves and tidal disruption events. Dr. Margutti investigates the physics of these events by combining broad-band observations across the electromagnetic spectrum, including X-ray, UV, optical, IR, and radio. The primary goal of her research is to understand the nature of the physical processes that regulate such dramatic displays.
Feryal Özel, University of Arizona
Feryal Özel is a Professor of Astronomy and Astrophysics in the Department of Astronomy at University of Arizona. She has made pioneering contributions to the physics of neutron stars and black holes, as well as to the co-evolution of black holes and galaxies in the early Universe. Dr. Özel led the Model Comparison group for the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) that released the first image of a black hole in April of 2019. She made the first accurate measurements of the neutron star radii that constrain the ultradense matter equation of state. Based on her work on accretion flows, she made the first size predictions of the images of nearby supermassive black holes at different wavelengths.
Victor Krabbendam, LSST
Victor Krabbendam has been LSST Project Manager since 2012, after eight years as Project Manager for the LSST Telescope & Site subsystem. Trained as a mechanical engineer, Victor has worked in industry, government, and with major astronomical research facilities including the Hobby-Eberly Telescope at McDonald Observatory and the Southern Astrophysical Research (SOAR) Telescope, a 4.1 meter telescope that is LSST's neighbor on Cerro Pachón.

Is Pluto A Planet?
Published 23rd September 2019
You know what a planet is, right? A big round thing that orbits a star. Uh, not so fast. The surprisingly vicious debate over the planetary status of Pluto has given us a fascinating glimpse into what a scientific definition really is. And perhaps the word planet is too vague to be used as a scientific definition at all.
We love to classify things. Labels help us keep stuff organized in our heads. In science, categorization provides a fast and easy way to know the properties of a member of the group just by knowing what group it belongs to. Chemists group elements on the periodic table, those groups exhibit similar chemical behavior that reflect outer-shell electron number. Biologists group organisms by similar physical characteristics, and this taxonomy reflects genetic relationships. Astronomers are all about space taxonomy. We classify galaxies based on their shape, black holes based on how they feed, stars based on their colour and brightness, and planets by… well, by a set of criteria that has caused more tension and heartbreak than any made-up grouping scheme really should. Because a change in that scheme demoted Pluto from planet to not-planet. Today we’re going to settle whether this was reasonable, and whether we should keep the word “planet” at all.

A ‘Goldilocks Zone’ For Planet Size - Research Redefines Lower Limit For Planet Size Habitability
Published 23rd September 2019
In a recent paper (https://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.3847/1538-4357/ab2bf2 https://news.harvard.edu/gazette/story/2019/09/sizing-up-a-planets-habitability/), Harvard University researchers described a new, lower size limit for planets to maintain surface liquid water for long periods of time, extending the so-called habitable zone or “Goldilocks zone” for small, low-gravity planets. This research expands the search area for life in the universe and sheds light on the important process of atmospheric evolution on small planets.

Einstein's & Oppenheimer's Top-Secret Alien Memo
Published 23rd September 2019
Many of our viewers already know that the UFO phenomena has been present in human history for millennia. Accounts of unidentified aerial phenomena reach as far back in antiquity as our first discovered human writings and cave drawings. And for over 99% of that time period up until now, the sightings have been classified as unexplained, mysterious or just plain misidentified natural phenomena. However, things began to change about 200 years ago with the invention of photography and the ability to provide actual visual evidence. Even so, most of the photographic evidence, and later video evidence, over the last couple of centuries has been either discredited or even debunked in a consistent effort to keep the general public ignorant or at least skeptical of the true nature of these phenomena. To this very day, there has been no confirmation from any Earth government that such phenomena are of extraterrestrial origin.
As recently as September 2019, the US Navy admitted that three videos from 2004 and 2015, which were recorded by military pilots, contained footage of what they deemed Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP). This is a very significant development because it is the first time the Navy has admitted that it cannot identify the aerial objects, but the Navy went no further in its disclosure.

Muhammad Ali Tells Johnny Carson That UFO's Are Real
Published 23rd September 2019
On September 7, 1973, Muhammad Ali (along with boxer Ken Norton) went on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson to promote their upcoming rematch bout. As soon as Ali walked out, you could tell he wasn't in the best of moods. It looked like he had something on his mind that he wanted to get out. And he did. But to everyone's surprise, it had nothing to do with boxing. It had to do with UFO's and his belief that Flying Saucers were real. Back then, it took guts to speak publicly about believing in UFO's. But only Ali would have the guts to proclaim to the world that not only did he believe UFO's are real, he said he even saw one himself! It's a must see!

1967: The Year Of The UFO
Published 22nd September 2019
On episode 127 of SOMEWHERE IN THE SKIES, we take a look back at one of the strangest and most active years in UFO history; 1967. From running over an alien with a car, to actual car-jacking aliens. From the horrifying Maelstrom Nuclear missile shutdown by a UFO, to the crash of a craft in the waters of Shag Harbor. And lest we forget the highly documented close encounter at Falcon Lake. It's all here, and it's all thanks to the brilliant research of UFO investigators across the world.
Special thanks to the National Investigations Committee on Aerial Phenomena (NICAP), Billy Booth, Appalachian Ghost Walks, and the tireless work of countless contributors to The UFO Casebook.

In 1991, Greg Bishop co-founded a magazine called The Excluded Middle, which was a journal of UFOs, conspiracy research, psychedelia and new science. Wake Up Down There!, a collection of articles from the magazine, was published in 2000. Greg’s second book was Project Beta, which documented a government campaign of disinformation around the UFO issue. Weird California, a portrait of strange and eerie history and places in the Golden State, was released in 2006.
From 2007 to 2011, Greg blogged for the UFO and paranormal site Ufomystic. His 2017 book It Defies Language anthologized entries from that blog along with new articles written just for the collection. In 2017, he contributed an essay entitled “The Co-Creation Hypothesis: Human Perception, the Informational Universe, and The Overhaul of UFO Research” for the anthology UFOs: Reframing the Debate. In 2019, he co-authored A Is For Adamski, an encyclopedic overview of the UFO contact movement. His long-running podcast can be heard at radiomisterioso.com.
He has appeared in the documentaries Fields of Fear (about the cattle mutilation phenomenon) and Mirage Men (based on his book Project Beta), and in the Travel Channel series Mysteries at the National Parks and most recently on the History Channel series Unidentified. He also served as consultant for the TNN series The Conspiracy Zone with Kevin Nealon. For nearly two decades, he has lectured extensively at conferences, conventions and from elementary to college students.
Greg has researched the phenomenon of “alien writing“: examples of languages people claim to have received from non-human sources. He has also written on the history of the desert southwest. Greg holds a private pilot license as well as an advanced certification in paragliding and is licensed by the FAA to fly drones for commercial clients.

Get Set For Spectacular Morning Sky Show
Published 24th September 2019
If you don't mind getting up a bit early, the skies are offering a very special treat for the next several days. At the end of the month, from September 25th to the 27th, look east half an hour before dawn for an increasingly slimmer crescent, that appears lower in the sky each day.
On Sept. 26, the waning crescent moon swings past the bright star Regulus, the brightest star in Leo constellation and one of the brightest stars of the night sky.
On Saturday, September 28, will be the New Moon. New moons happen regularly, but this upcoming event is special. It's also a Supermoon. On Saturday night, the Supermoon and the New Moon
will coincide. People in coastal areas should be alert for strong spring tides.
During a new moon, both the moon and the sun tug from the same side, causing an even bigger range in the tides. However, when the new moon is especially close to Earth — as it is on Saturday — the effect of the latter is magnified, and the result is strong spring tides also known as "king" tides.

But was it always this bad? According to new research from NASA and various universities in Sweden and the US, Venus might have actually been the first habitable world in the Solar System. And it might have maintained a reasonable climate for billions of years, finally rolling over into a runaway greenhouse effect just a few hundred million years ago.

Sheryl Gottshal | Tie Me UFO Down Sport
Published 24th September 2019
Exploring The Bizarre (KCORradio.com) hosts Tim Beckley and Tim Swartz welcomes from Australia SHERYL GOTTSHAL -- Sheryl was born in Brisbane, Australia but at an early age lived on a cattle station in country Queensland, where as a child she often looked at the stars and wondered if there was other life in the universe. In her teenage years she developed an interest in the paranormal and in 1988 she became an active UFO investigator for the Brisbane-based organisation, UFO Research Queensland (UFORQ) and has since held two terms as president for a total of 24 years.
Soon after joining UFORQ, Sheryl had her own close encounter with the commonly described “grey aliens” appearing to her in her home. This was followed by the development of a serious ten year illness during which time she experienced a near death experience (NDE), out of body experiences (OBE) and other mystical, paranormal and psychic phenomena. Her quest for what was happening to her, led her on the path to shamanism and the understanding that these events were an invitation, but more importantly, an initiation into other realms populated by a variety of beings. Her personal experiences catapulted her into the world of shamanism and she now uses and teaches shamanic practices.
In 1992 Sheryl also established the first close encounter support group in Brisbane after Budd Hopkins spoke in Brisbane for the first time at a conference. Sheryl is a regular writer for the Australian bi-monthly publication UFO Encounter, and the UFO Truth Magazine published in the UK by Gary Heseltine. She also co-hosts the weekly radio show Strange Encounters and co-hosts Strange Encounters Downunder zoomcasts with author and contactee, Suzy Hansen.

Alexis & Terry in conclusion
Published 24th September 2019
In part one of my interview with retired attorney, former assistant attorney general, and lifelong abductee Terry Lovelace - we discussed his most harrowing journey AFTER his 1977 abduction at Devils Den State Park in Northwestern Arkansas.
The full hour was taken up with his recounting the details of a full on interrogation, and the disturbing aftermath that haunts him to this day.
On today’s show - a part two that I knew we would have to do right away, Terry goes further into the events that preceded his 1977 event, along with the discovery in 2012 of a device mysteriously placed in his leg. A visit to his home by an odd Asian woman who he recalled from his childhood, and the warning she gave him that shook him to the core.
We also discuss his time spent with Luis Elizondo of To the Stars Academy - his take on the recent disclosure by the US Navy about the reality of UFOs or UAPs and where he feels we’re all headed on this very twisted and important journey here on Planet Earth.

Chandra X-Ray Observatory
A Quick Look @ Triplet Black Holes
Published 25th September 2019
Three supermassive black holes are on a collision course, captured by telescopes on the ground and in space.
The system where this triple black hole merger is happening, called SDSS J0849+1114, is located about a billion light years from Earth.
To make this discovery, astronomers combined data from telescopes on the ground as well as several in space including Chandra, Hubble, WISE and NuSTAR.
Scientists have seen multiple cases where two supermassive black holes are collision course.
This latest result, however, is the best evidence yet for a trio of giant black holes.
Astronomers think these triplet collisions, while extremely rare, play a critical role in how the biggest black holes grow over time.

A Tour of Triplet Black Holes
Published 25th September 2019
Three giant black holes have been spotted within a titanic collision of three galaxies. This discovery was made using data from NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory and other telescopes both on the ground and in space.
To uncover this rare black hole trifecta, researchers first needed information from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey telescope in New Mexico that scans large swaths of the sky in optical light. With the help of citizen scientists across the globe as part of the Galaxy Zoo Project, the system known as SDSS J0849+1114 was tagged as a system of colliding galaxies.
Then astronomers turned to infrared data from NASA's WISE mission, which revealed that the system was glowing intensely in the infrared during a phase in the galaxy merger when more than one of the black holes is expected to be feeding rapidly. To follow up on these clues, astronomers then turned to Chandra and the Large Binocular Telescope, or LBT, in Arizona.
The Chandra data revealed X-ray sources — a tell-tale sign of material being consumed by the black holes — at the bright centers of each galaxy in the merger, exactly where scientists expect supermassive black holes to reside. Chandra and NASA's NuSTAR also found evidence for large amounts of gas and dust around one of the black holes, typical for a merging black hole system.
One reason it is difficult to find a triplet of supermassive black holes is that they are often shrouded in gas and dust, and this blocks much of the light from the regions around them. The infrared images of WISE, the infrared spectra from LBT and the X-ray images from Chandra bypass this issue, because infrared and X-ray light pierce clouds of gas much more easily than optical light.
Astronomers think these triplet collisions, while extremely rare, play a critical role in how the biggest black holes grow over time. Because of that, they will continue to use Chandra and other telescopes to search for these important systems.

Geomagnetic Storms Headed For Earth
Published 26th September 2019
In early September, a large hole in the sun's atmosphere firehosed Earth with solar wind, sparking sparking geomagnetic storms and auroras in more than a dozen US states. After a one-month trip around the sun, it's back.
NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory photographed the same hole facing Earth yesterday. Solar wind is emerging from it faster than 700 km/s. Estimated time of arrival: Sept. 27-28. NOAA forecasters say that G1- and G2-class geomagnetic storms are possible when the gaseous material arrives.

In today's image we see the waning crescent moon as it rises. Only a small portion of the moon is directly illuminated by the Sun, the remainder is being illuminated by earthshine - sunlight reflected off the Earth - to the moon and back to the Earth. This gives us a faint illumination of the portion of the moon that would otherwise be invisible at this phase.

Broadcast 16th & Published 27th September 2019
https://www.gralienreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/1448-2-1200x580.jpg
On this edition of the program, news of a mysterious rash of earthquakes in a small Southern town has many locales wondering what might be rumbling below. However, it has Micah asking whether anybody in the affected area has been looking up… we also touch on a recent confirmation provided by the U.S. Navy to researcher John Greenewald about unusual objects depicted in three pieces of footage its fighter pilots obtained… and which apparently were never meant to be released to the public.
Then Micah recaps his recent trip to the Marion, North Carolina Sasquatch festival, where a variety of local art, crafts, and colorful characters were all on display, in tribute to America’s most famous (and reclusive) hairy biped. We cover some of the events, as well as the claims by the research community present at the event, before shifting our attention over to the subject of “alien big cats”, involving sightings of large, black cats in various parts of the Americas. In fact, Micah was recently treated to a remarkable story by a man who shared not only one, but two sightings of large black cats resembling melanistic jaguars or cougars in parts of rural Western North Carolina. Could there really be exotic looking large cats that range further north into parts of the United States?
Then in hour two, after touching on the exciting discovery of a new interstellar object that may have entered our solar system, Dr. Brian Keating of the Simons Observatory joins us to discuss his passion for the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI), which he explains as being not merely the search for aliens, but the quest to find evidence of their techno-signatures, which may help astronomers finally prove that sophisticated alien technologies may exist in our universe. In addition to his views on the SETI program, Dr. Keating also gives us his views on the so-called “Sagan Effect”, many problems with science and the peer review process, and an update on the forthcoming Nobel Prize season, a topic covered in his book Losing the Nobel Prize: A Story of Cosmology, Ambition, and the Perils of Science’s Highest Honor.

Draconid Meteor Shower May Burst Into Storm Next Week
Published 29th September 2019
The Draconid Meteor Shower is a stunning natural phenomenon in which dozens of shooting stars illuminate the night sky. It occurs every October when the Earth passes through a stream of debris from the comet 21/P Ciacobini-Zinner. It's a periodic comet that orbits the Sun every 6.6 years.
Although the annual activity of the shower is usually low, the Draconids produce episodic outbursts and meteor storms. Major outbursts were detected in 1985, 1998, 2005 and 2011. In 2012, a completely unexpected Draconid storm was detected by the Canadian Meteor Orbit Radar(CMOR) with an equivalent ZHR reaching 9000 meteors per hour.
The Draconids will be most visible between sunset and midnight when the constellation Draco is at its highest point. The shower will appear brighter in darker locations, so stargazers are advised to travel to the countryside for the best viewes.
Get ready for a spectacular night sky light show. Even for a major outburst of shooting stars.

This Metal Asteroid Could Reveal Secrets About Earth’s Core
Published 30th September 2019

NASA and Arizona State University plan to send an orbiter to the Psyche asteroid, which is believed to be made mostly out of metal. This mission could be the key to understanding the inside of Earth's core.
Between Mars and Jupiter, you can find Psyche, one of the only asteroids that scientists believe might be made mostly of metal and researchers from NASA and and Arizona State University will be sending an orbiter to the asteroid for the very first time.
Exploring Psyche’s terrain could be our only key to understanding what the inside of Earth’s core could be like.
Visiting asteroids isn’t new to space exploration with Vesta, Ceres, Ryugu, and Bennu being some of the most recent mission destinations.
And asteroids, for the most part, have been all the same; usually rocky, airless drifting through the cosmos as leftover debris from a chaotic beginning.
But Psyche is different.
“We’re pretty sure that it’s largely made of iron-nickel metal. And there are very, very few asteroids out in the asteroid belt that we think are made of metal or largely of metal,” Lindy Elkins-Tanton, Principal Investigator of the NASA Psyche mission, told Seeker
Researchers suspect Psyche is an exposed core of a protoplanet, which is a planet in its early formation stages and it’s most likely that the asteroid lost its rocky exterior during violent collisions in the beginning of our solar system’s evolution...at least, that’s what scientists’ best assumptions are.
And no one really knows what Psyche looks like beyond a speck of light, and so the 2022 Psyche mission will include sending back camera images of the asteroid so we can take a look at what a metallic body like this looks like.

MISSION TO A METAL WORLD: Psyche
https://www.jpl.nasa.gov/missions/psyche/
"Because we cannot see or measure Earth's core directly, Psyche offers a unique window into the violent history of collisions and accretion that created terrestrial planets. The mission is led by Arizona State University. NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory is responsible for mission management, operations and navigation."
16 Psyche
https://solarsystem.nasa.gov/asteroids-comets-and-meteors/asteroids/16-psyche/in-depth/
"Unlike most other asteroids that are rocky or icy bodies, scientists think the M-type (metallic) asteroid 16 Psyche is comprised mostly of metallic iron and nickel similar to Earth’s core. Scientists wonder whether Psyche could be an exposed core of an early planet, maybe as large as Mars, that lost its rocky outer layers due to a number of violent collisions billions of years ago."
Instruments & Science Investigations
https://psyche.asu.edu/mission/instruments-science-investigations/
"The Gamma Ray and Neutron Spectrometer will detect, measure, and map Psyche’s elemental composition. The instrument is mounted on a 6-foot (2-meter) boom to distance the sensors from background radiation created by energetic particles interacting with the spacecraft and to provide an unobstructed field of view."

China Grew Two Cotton Leaves On The Moon
Published 30th September 2019
https://spectrum.ieee.org/image/MzM4NDE5OA.jpeg
The team behind a pioneering biological experiment sent to the lunar far side has released an image showing two green leaves grown on the moon.
The experiment began shortly after China’s Chang’e-4 spacecraft made the first ever landing on the far side of the moon, on 3 January this year.
Cotton, arabidopsis and potato seeds, and fruit-fly eggs and yeast were all aboard the 2.6-kilogram mini biosphere, but only the cotton produced positive results.
Image processing has now shown that two cotton leaves had grown—rather than just one as initially thought—in what was the first biological growth experiment on the moon.

Starship Takes Shape. Are We Months Away From A Fully Reusable Rocket System?
Streamed & Published 30th September 2019
On Saturday, September 28th, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk stood in front of an audience in Boca Chica, Texas, and presented the fully assembled SpaceX Starship, 50 meters tall and made from shiny stainless steel.
As part of his presentation, Musk showed off the history of the company’s developments so far and gave us an updated view of what Starship and its first stage Superheavy booster will look like when they’re fully operational.
It was actually a pretty short presentation, and there weren’t a lot of details. But he stuck around to answer questions from many space journalists, and we’ve got a much better idea about Starship and what happens next.

How Many Universes Are There?
Published 30th September 2019
The universe is big, but it’s peanuts compared to the eternally inflating multiverse. But just how many universes are there? What are they like? And most importantly, what can they tell us about … aliens?
Imagine it: the observable part of our universe is 93 billion light years across, and that’s just a small fraction of the stuff created in our Big Bang. But in the eternal inflation picture, ours is just one among uncountable bubble universes. Bubbles that are continuously appearing and growing within a vastly larger spacetime that itself expands at an exponentially accelerating rate. A greater inflationary spacetime whose expansion never ends. We looked at the bizarre idea of eternal inflation in recent episodes – but we stopped short of exploring the full implications of this proposition. Those implications are, frankly, completely nuts. Some may also be true.

Astronomers Debate: How Many Habitable Planets Does Each Sun-Like Star Have?
Published 30th September 2019
https://blogs-images.forbes.com/startswithabang/files/2018/12/Supagif.gif?
In the quest for life in the Universe, it makes sense to look at worlds that are similar to the only success story we know of for certain: our planet Earth. Here at home, we inhabit a rocky planet with a thin atmosphere that orbits our star by rotating rapidly on its axis, with liquid water stably on its surface for billions of years. We have the right temperature and pressure at our surface for continents and liquid oceans, and the right raw ingredients for life to potentially arise.
We might not yet know how omnipresent or rare life actually is in our galaxy and Universe. Questions concerning the origin of life or the frequency of life evolving into a complex, intelligent or even technologically advanced civilization remain unanswered, as we lack that information. But exoplanet data? We've got plenty. That's why it's such a puzzle that astronomers can't agree on how many Earth-like planets each Sun-like star should possess.

We have a new record. Perhaps 1,060 light-years away, a gas giant called NGTS-10b is whipping around its star so closely, it completes an entire orbit in just 18.4 hours.
That's nearly as close as the planet can get to the host star without being ripped apart by gravitational forces. But it will get closer.
Astronomers have estimated that the exoplanet is spiralling in towards the star, and will cross that ripping-apart point called the Roche limit in just 38 million years. It's utterly doomed.

Tons Of Water In Asteroids Could Fuel Satellites & Space Exploration

When it comes to mining space for water, the best target may not be the moon: Entrepreneurs' richest options are likely to be asteroids that are larger and closer to Earth.
A recent study suggested that roughly 1,000 water-rich, or hydrated, asteroids near our planet are easier to reach than the lunar surface is. While most of these space rocks are only a few feet in size, more than 25 of them should be large enough to each provide significant water. Altogether, the water locked in these asteroids should be enough to fill somewhere around 320,000 Olympics-size swimming pools — significantly more than the amount of water locked up at the lunar poles, the new research suggested.

Black holes hold the key to some of the pressing mysteries in modern science. Whether in isolation or in binary systems, they are excellent laboratories to probe high-energy physics and Einstein’s theory of gravity. The detection of gravitational waves from binary mergers marked the dawn of a new era in astronomy, and planned space-based detectors will open a new observational window at low frequencies. Gravitational waves from compact binaries carry important information on their astrophysical formation mechanisms, and on the evolution of the universe as a whole. Join us for a discussion about how gravitational-wave detectors can not only advance our understanding of black hole formation and growth, but also search for potential “smoking guns” of new physics.

Eiichiro Komatsu | Finding Gravitational Waves From The Early Universe
Published 1st October 2019
The cosmic microwave background (CMB) research told us a remarkable story: the structure we see in our Universe such as galaxies, stars, planets, and eventually ourselves originated from tiny quantum fluctuations generated in the early Universe. With the WMAP we have confirmed many of the key predictions of inflation including flatness and statistical homogeneity of our Universe, Gaussianity and adiabaticity of primordial density fluctuations, and a small but non-zero deviation from the scale-invariant spectrum of density fluctuations. Yet, the extraordinary claim requires extraordinary evidence. The last prediction of inflation that is yet to be confirmed is the existence of primordial gravitational waves whose wavelength can be as big as billions of light years. To this end we have proposed to JAXA a new satellite mission called LiteBIRD, whose primary scientific goal is to find signatures of gravitational waves in the polarisation of the CMB. In this presentation we describe physics of gravitational waves from inflation including both the vacuum and sourced contributions (i.e., left and right hands of Einstein’s equation), the LiteBIRD proposal, as well as a sub-mm telescope in Chile called CCAT-prime that we are currently building.

Transit Of Mercury Across The Sun - One Of The Rarest Astronomical Events Is Coming Up
Published 1st October 2019
As seen from Earth, only transits of the inner planets Mercury and Venus are possible. Planetary transits are far more rare than eclipses of the Sun by the Moon.
Our solar system's innermost planet, Mercury passes directly in front of the Sun on November 11, 2019.
Mark your calendar!
The rare transit begins at 12:35 UT ((7:35 a.m. EST) and lasts for almost six hours. People in every continent except Australia can see at least a portion of the crossing. In the USA, the best place to be is on the Atlantic coast, where the entire transit is visible. On the Pasific coast the transit will already be in progress at sunrise.
Warning!
Mercury covers only a tiny fraction of the Sun's surface, so staring at the Sun remains just as painful and dangerous as ever. But with a proper filter, the Transit of Mercury can be a marvelous experience.
Experts recommend using a telescope with a magnification of 50 to 100 times for witnessing the event.

Alejandro Rojas with UFO Updates, Kent Senter, longtime UFO researcher from North Carolina discusses some amazing encounters in his past, his monumental conference in 2013 and much more.
KENT SENTER was raised in Northern Virginia in Falls Church just outside of Wash DC until his senior year in HS when his family moved to NC. Kent had childhood sightings in Virginia and interesting conversations with high ranking military and government friends who lived in the neighborhood. In the late 50's and 60's, it seemed like everyone in the DC area was either military or worked for the government. Later while living in NC, after the Lumberton NC sighting in April 1975 and Durham NC sighting around 1985, he met and became friends with George Fawcett who was a longtime researcher and writer on the subject. The two started the NC Chapter for MUFON in the late 80's and Kent was a state section director and an investigator until the late 90's. Kent left MUFON NC due to his job relocation and was out of the UFO news for awhile. After learning he had multiple myeloma cancer in 2009 and given months to live, he decided to start researching the topic again and in 2013, started the Center for UFO Research North Carolina. He hosted an International conference that same year and also hosted a smaller conference in 2016 with Travis Walton, Thom Reed, Nick Redfern and himself as speakers. Kent continues to receive communications about sightings and follow up investigations through his Facebook page. He is part of a small group who meets occasionally to discuss the topic. He currently do speaking engagements and a few radio/podcast shows (Erica Lukes, Tim Beckley, and Brent Raynes) and have been slowly working on a book for the last 3 years about this phenomena.

Aliens at school! Extraterrestrials on the playground! For the past 170 years, schools across the United States and the world have been targeted and visited by UFOs. These are not simple fly-overs. In these cases, the objects hover for long periods at extremely low elevation, often landing next to the school. In many cases, humanoids are seen. Elementary schools, junior high and high schools, colleges and universities -- all have been targeted. The ETs are here, and they are coming for our children.March 15, 1950, thirty-one students at Prestonburg Elementary School, in Prestonburg, Kentucky observe a fleet of UFOs.Summer, 1952, Joan Torrance and dozens of other students at Elder Park Elementary School in Glasgow, Scotland see a metallic saucer hover 30 feet above the school.October 22, 1955, sixty students at Jerome Elementary School in Marysville, Ohio observe a dramatic UFO display, including physical evidence in the form of angel hair.March 21, 1966, eighty-seven students at Hillsdale College, in Hillsdale, Michigan observe a UFO land in front of the school.April 6, 1966, more than 200 students at Westall High School, in Melbourne, Australia, observe three or four UFOs, one of which lands next to the school.April 7, 1967, more than 200 students at Crestview Elementary School in Opa-locka, Florida, observe a UFO land next to the school.March 17, 1970, more than 400 students at Richmond School in Maraenui, New Zealand observe a UFO hover overhead.February 4, 1977, fourteen students at Broad Haven Elementary School in Haverfordwest, South Wales encounter a landed UFO with occupants.September 16, 1994, more than sixty-two students at Ariel Elementary School in Ruwa, Zimbabwe observe a landed UFO with occupants. And this is just the beginning. This unique and groundbreaking book documents more than 100 cases of schoolyard UFO encounters. Why are extraterrestrials hovering over and landing next to schools? Why are the ETs so interested in our children?Schoolyard UFO Encounters, by longtime researcher Preston Dennett, answers all these questions and more. Something very profound is happening here.

Perseus, Medusa, & You
Published 3rd October 2019
The world's ancient myths are built on a foundation of celestial metaphor: virtually all the characters and episodes correspond to specific constellations and their heavenly cycles.
But the constellations have characteristics in this system which relate to realities in the invisible realm, the infinite realm . . . the realm of the gods.
The stories are not simply "based on the constellations" -- the celestial metaphor originates in the unseen realm, which is then mapped onto the constellations which, because they themselves occupy an "infinite realm" -- the heavens above -- are perfect for helping us to "see" the realities of that Invisible Realm.
In this video, I use some aspects of the myth of Perseus, Medusa, and the Gorgons to demonstrate that the details of the story originate in the celestial realm -- but that beyond their correspondence to the constellations in the night sky, the figures in this well-known myth convey powerful truths regarding our own situation in this incarnate life, and our relationship to the realm of the infinite, which is in fact always present, and always available, and indeed absolutely necessary to us as we navigate the pitfalls of life in the material plane.

No One Agrees What It Means For A Planet To Be “Habitable”
Published 1st October 2019

A little less than a month ago, scientists announced that water vapor had been spotted in the atmosphere of K2-18b, an exoplanet 110 light-years away. Crucially, the planet was in its star’s “habitable zone” (the region around a star that’s temperate enough for liquid surface water, sometimes referred to as the “Goldilocks zone”). But the use of that phrase is pretty controversial. Though humans certainly couldn’t live on K2-18b, there is little agreement among experts about whether some form of extreme microbial life could be found there. It might have been in the “habitable zone,” but no one could agree whether K2-18b was truly “habitable” or not.

A UFO reportedly crashed near a small Canadian fishing village in the 1960s. Now, the Shag Harbour incident is being commemorated by the Royal Canadian Mint.
The Canadian government has issued a limited edition glow-in-the-dark coin to commemorate one of Canada’s most important historical events: a UFO crash.
The Royal Canadian Mint has produced 4000 coins commemorating an event where the townspeople and fishermen of Shag Harbour witnessed a large luminous object crash into the water just off the coast of Nova Scotia, Canada.

Suppose you’re a space-faring alien society. You’ve established colonies on a few planets and moons in your solar system, but your population is growing and you’re running out of space. What should you do? Your brightest engineers might suggest a radical idea: they could disassemble a Jupiter-size planet and rearrange its mass into a cloud of orbiting platforms that encircles your sun. Your population would have ample living area on or inside the platforms; meanwhile, through solar power, you’d be able to capture every joule of energy radiating from your star.

SYNOPSIS
Ufology experts state that after the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, there was a significant increase in UFO (Unidentified flying object) sightings all over the world.
Over two decades later, the Brazilian medium Chico Xavier confided to close friends that, upon the arrival of man to the moon on July 20, 1969, occurred a meeting with the heavenly powers of our solar system to check on the progress of earth society. They decided then, provide mankind with a period of 50 years to evolve morally and coexist peacefully without causing a third world war.
If up to the Deadline they could do so, mankind would, from then on, be ready to enter a new era of its existence and magnificent feats would be observed everywhere, and also our brothers from other planets would be expressly authorized to present themselves publicly and officially to the earth inhabitants.
GUESTS
Among the guests of the Project were interviewed the medium and spiritualist speaker Divaldo Franco (considered one of the greatest of our time), the writer Gerard Lemos Neto (to whom Chico confided the Deadline events), the journalist Saulo Gomes (who led the brazilian TV show called in the 60s), the Brazilian ufologist Ademar Gevaerd (the most famous in Brazil), the generals Alberto Cardoso Mendes (Former Chief of General Staff of the Brazilian Army and Former Minister of casa Militar) and Paulo Roberto Y. M. Uchoa (son of the researcher and general, Moacyr Uchoa) in addition to the former Minister of National Defense of Canada, Paul Hellyer.

UFO Jesus | Disclosure, The Nimitz Tic-Tac, & UFO Evidence
Published 3rd October 2019
UFO Jesus is a popular advocate of UFO “disclosure”, the belief that the US Government is close to revealing that it knows that some UFOs actually are the result of alien visitors. We talk about this and our different interpretation of the evidence used to support this case. In particular, we focus on the 2004 case of the USS Nimitz, where, over several days, unexplained sightings and radar returns culminated in two fighter planes observing what one pilot, Commander David Fravor, described as a “white Tic-Tac shaped craft” performing impossible maneuvers. A later video was also taken, which I think shows a distant plane, and UFO fans think is this Tic-Tac. There are rumors of a higher-resolution longer video that shows more.
UFO Jesus closes with six prophecies, and I’m a bit skeptical. But he gives a nice short timeframe of six years, so we’ll see.

How Do Astronomers Define Latitude & Longitude On Other Planets
Published 3rd October 2019
It took centuries for the people on Earth to decide on a common meridian to measure longitude from, but other planets also need everyone to agree about the origins of their mapping systems. In the case of the terrestrial planets a single bright spot was chosen in the early stages of exploration, and as maps improved the exact location is defined with increasing accuracy. For tidally locked moons the meridian is defined based on orientation relative to the parent body, but even then there's a lot of room for improvement as data improves.
Finally some bodies are just not suited to spherical coordinated, because they're not particularly spherical.

In 2015, the story of Tabby’s Star, named after discoverer Dr. Tabetha Boyajian, captivated the science news cycle for months with one idea being that the dimming and dipping of the star could be be of an alien civilization building a dyson sphere or constructing a dyson swarm.
Up until recently, Tabby's star was so far the only known star to show such unusual slow dimming.
Dr. Edward Schmidt is a professor emeritus at the University Nebraska-Lincoln having taught physics and astronomy for over 40 years. His most recent paper looked for analogs of Tabby’s star KIC 8462852 using previously available survey data.

Why did ancient cultures around the world identify the planet Venus as a great comet? One of the leading comparative mythologists to explore this question is Ev Cochrane, a colleague for several decades of David Talbott and the late Dwardu Cardona.
As Cochrane exhaustively outlined in his books Martian Metamorphoses and the Many Face of Venus, the relationship between Mars and Venus is just one extraordinary clue to the celestial catastrophes recorded in ancient testimony.
In part one of this two part presentation, Cochrane begins by explaining the genesis of his own remarkable research.

Comet 'Gateway' Discovered To Inner Solar System
Published 4th October 2019
A new study led by a University of Central Florida researcher may fundamentally alter our understanding of how comets arrive from the outskirts of the solar system and are funneled to the inner solar system coming closer to Earth.
Researchers describe the discovery of an orbital "gateway" through which many comets pass before they approach our sun. The gateway was uncovered as part of a simulation of centaurs, small icy bodies traveling on chaotic orbits between Jupiter and Neptune.
The study team modeled the evolution of bodies from beyond Neptune's orbit, through the giant planet's region, and inside Jupiter's orbit. These icy bodies are considered nearly pristine remnants of material from the birth of our solar system.

Century Class Solar Minimum - 200 Spotless Days in 2019 & the Counter is Keep Ticking
Published 4th October 2019
Solar Minimum is underway, and it’s a deep one. Sunspot counts suggest it is one of the deepest minima of the past century. The sun’s magnetic field has become weak, allowing extra cosmic rays into the solar system.
For 2019 overall (January through September), the sun has been blank 72% of the time, comparable to annual averages during the century-class Solar Minimum of 2008 (73%) and 2009 (71%). The current Solar Minimum appears to be century-class as well, meaning you have to go back to the beginning of the 20th century to find lulls in solar activity this deep.
At the moment there are no nascent sunpots on the solar disk, so the spotless days counter is likely to keep ticking.

They explore DJ's new breakthrough research of Lindbergh's unusual appearance in the Roswell UFO Crash story and records of his presence there as early as 1934. Lindbergh was funding and sponsoring Space pioneer Robert H. Goddard through his friend Daniel Guggenheim and helped purchase land in Roswell in the 1930s to further advanced rocketry experiments. In a Major Twist of the Official Story, he was seen with Paperclip Nazi and NASA Rocket Scientist Wernher Von Braun at the RAAF Airbase immediately after the Roswell UFO Crash and their relationship would continue through Space Organizations for decades. In an even stranger surprise it is revealed that Lindbergh had a passion for Aerial Archaeology flying directly over the HotZone and became a pioneer in photography of Mayan Temples in Yucatan where Psychic Edgar Cayce claimed there was an Atlantean Hall of Records hidden. He would also seek out Cayce to help find his missing son when he was kidnapped in the crime of the decade.

Detection Of First Alien Gases On Interstellar Object
Published 8th October 2019
Detection Of Cyanide Gas In Interstellar Object 2I/Borisov - It Probably Came From Kruger 60 Binary Stellar System.
An international team of researchers used the 4.2-meter WHT and the Intermediate-dispersion Spectrograph and Imaging System (ISIS) located at the ESO's La Palma Observatory to observe the comet.
What they observed was a thin cloud that showed a strong signal from cyanogen gas (CN) – in other words, a toxic vapor that indicated the presence of cyanide. Astronomers found numbers that are pretty similar to solar system comets, although it may be slightly more 'gassy' than average.
A new study by astronomers from the A. Mickiewicz University and the Space Research Centre of the Polish Academy of Sciences suggests that the interstellar comet 2I/Borisov likely came from a binary star system called Kruger 60. Kruger 60 is a visual binary stellar system located in the constellation of Cepheus.

Evidence Found In South Africa For the Younger Dryas Impact Hypothesis
Published 8th October 2019
A team of scientists from South Africa have uncovered further evidence that supports the hypothesis that the Earth was struck by a meteorite of asteroid just 12,800 years ago, in an event known as the Younger Dryas.
As many of you will know, this coincided with a global change in climate and a megafaunal extinction, changing the world in dramatic ways in relatively recent history, an event that was certainly witnessed by mankind.
As reported on phys.org, the team of scientists published their findings in the journal Palaeontologia Africana, of a clear and obvious platinum spike at a site called Wonderkrater in the Limpopo Province, north of Pretoria in South Africa.
A core was drilled into peat deposits and the evidence was found in a sample that dates to around 12,800 years ago.

Three years after the Rosetta mission officially ended in 2016, scientists met at ESA’s ESTEC facility in The Netherlands to discuss the latest findings at the final Science Working Team (SWT) meeting.
From the launch in 2004, to its arrival at comet 67P in 2014, Rosetta has been an emotional and inspiring mission. Its findings have furthered our understanding of comets and changed our perceptions of how the Solar System formed.
The mission produced an enormous amount of data which will keep many scientists busy for years. The OSIRIS camera, for example, took 100 000 images. These are archived - with the analysis of images recently providing further insight into the comet’s activity.
Rosetta’s legacy of cometary science and data is not just continuing to produce more work, however, it’s also inspiring the next generation of scientists. Some began working on Rosetta as students and are now taking their experience forward onto ESA’s future Comet Interceptor mission.

September 2019 : Earth Changes Summary
Published 4th October 2019
September 2019 will be remembered as the month when 16-year-old prophet Greta Thunberg spoke at the UN in New York City to warn the world of global catastrophe if people didn't change their ways. At least, that's how the media apparently wanted people to remember September.
Away from that circus, increasing weather extremes and seismic upheaval continues apace.
Last month, fatal flash-flooding in Morocco and Algeria killed 18 people; Hurricane Dorian absolutely wrecked the Bahamas; severe flooding across southeast Asia and India killed hundreds; Spain was hit with its worst storm system in at least 140 years; destructive earthquakes hit Kashmir and Indonesia; dozens of meteor fireball events lit up the night sky; and early snowfall and cold temperature records were broken across the northern hemisphere.
So, should we panic? Greta certainly thinks so. She wishes people would do something about the unfolding climate chaos, but she doesn't understand that nothing can be done to stop it because climate is neither controlled nor mitigated by human CO2 emissions.
A 'tipping-point' is likely upon us - she's right about that - but if there's a shift, it'll be into ice age conditions. While people have been misled into paying 'green' taxes, governments have been deluded into divesting of secure fuel sources right when they ought to have been manically hoarding it.

Kate Jeffery | Entropy, Complexity & Evolution
Published 7th October 2019
Our observable universe started out in a highly non-generic state, one of very low entropy, and disorderliness has been growing ever since. How, then, can we account for the appearance of complex systems such as organisms and biospheres? The answer is that very low-entropy states typically appear simple, and high-entropy states also appear simple, and complexity can emerge along the road in between. Today’s podcast is more of a discussion than an interview, in which behavioral neuroscientist Kate Jeffery and I discuss how complexity emerges through cosmological and biological evolution. As someone on the biological side of things, Kate is especially interested in how complexity can build up and then catastrophically disappear, as in mass extinction events.
There were some audio-quality issues with the remote recording of this episode, but loyal listeners David Gennaro and Ben Cordell were able to help repair it. I think it sounds pretty good!
Kate Jeffery received her Ph.D. in behavioural neuroscience from the University of Edinburgh. She is currently a professor in the Department of Behavioural Neuroscience at University College, London. She is the founder and Director of the Institute of Behavioural Neuroscience at UCL.

As part of the ESAC Science Seminar Programme, this week our invited speaker is Michel Mayor, professor emeritus at the University of Geneva, Switzerland, and he will give the seminar 'Exoplanets: Past, Present and Future'.
Together with Didier Queloz, Michel Mayor discovered 51 Pegasi b in 1995, the first extrasolar planet, orbiting the sun-like star 51 Pegasi. His team is responsible for finding more than 250 exoplanets. Michel Mayor is a principal investigator of the HARPS consortium planet search survey, which has discovered a growing population of superearths and Neptune-like small mass planets.
During the presentation, Michel Mayor will describe the evolution of the search for exoplanets in the last 25 years. In this period, the astronomical instrumentation has achieved a spectacular progress, which has revealed an impressive diversity, complexity and frequency of planetary systems. The research field has experimented a drastic change of paradigm about the frequency of planetary systems in the Milky Way as well as their formation mechanisms. Michel Mayor will also discuss a few recently developed instruments rich of future possibilities.

Laird Scranton | Seeking The Primordial: Exploring Root Concepts Of Cosmological Creation
Published 10th October 2019
Einstein believed that matter must arise from a simple set of physical dynamics. So did many of the classic ancient creation traditions, such as the Buddhist and Hindu traditions in India, the Kabbalist tradition of Judaism, and the Dogon and Egyptian creation traditions of Africa. Priests of the modern-day Dogon tribe of Mali point to a set of primordial processes of matter that go well beyond what modern popularizers of physics typically discuss. Techniques of comparative cosmology help us to align those processes with likely scientific counterparts, based on a consensus of ancient views. What's revealed are new and compelling perspectives on how our universe is said to interact with a non-material twin universe, how the dimensions of time and space are understood to emerge from non-materiality, and how these seemingly scientific archaic concepts formed an enduring foundation for ancient and modern religion.

Space Weather News | Two Solar Cycles @ Once & A Big Meteor Nearly Hits
Published 10th October 2019
Our Sun keeps our attention focused even though space weather remains reasonably quiet this week. We have had several bright regions appear in Earth-view. The largest of these regions was strong enough to be officially designated as a sunspot (region 2749) from Solar Cycle 24. But then two high latitude bright regions emerged, one in the north and one in the south. These two regions both had Solar Cycle 25 polarity, which means this is one of the rare moments when we have active regions from two different solar cycles in both the northern and southern hemispheres in view at the same time! Unfortunately, if you blinked, you missed this rarity, as the new regions faded quite quickly. As a result, the solar flux has remained low and radio propagation continues to be poor on Earth's dayside. We do have a remnant coronal hole rotating through the Earth-strike zone now. Its been sending us some sporadic fast solar wind, which has bumped us up to active conditions sporadically. However, aurora views are expected to be sporadic and elusive, especially at mid-latitudes. Take a closer look at the ongoing solar activity, including the new active regions, see how the fast solar wind hitting now will affect you, and learn about the meteor that nearly hit the ground in Southern California this week!

Hunter's Full Moon Rising This Weekend
Published 10th October 2019
This weekend, everyone around the world will see an amazing full- moon lighting up the nighttime from dusk until dawn. The full moon happens on Sunday October 13, 2019 at 21 08 UTC (5 17 p.m. EDT). The Moon will appear full for about three days centered on this time, from Saturday evening to Monday evening. This will be the Hunter's Full Moon.
On the morning of the full Moon, as morning twilight begins, the planet Mars will appear in the east. You may need binoculars to catch the Red Planet. The bright stars of of the local arm of our home galaxy, including the constellations Orion and Gemini will appear spread across the sky from south to southeast, before dawn.
On the evening of the full Moon on October 13, 2019, as evening twilight ends, Jupiter and Saturn will appear south to southwest.
Look to the west for the bright orange star Arcturus after sunset. At the evening the Summer Triangle will appear directly overhead. The defining vertices of this imaginary triangle are at Altair, Deneb, and Vega, each of which is the brightest star of its constellation (Aquila, Cygnus, and Lyra, respectively).
This coming weekend, just go outside and look at the sky and enjoy the celestial show. You don't need any special equipment but just your eyes.

What Moons In Other Solar Systems Reveal About Planets Like Neptune And Jupiter

To qoute Bradley:
What is the difference between a planet-satellite system as we have with the Earth and Moon, versus a binary planet – two planets orbiting each other in a cosmic do-si-do?
I am an astronomer interested in planets orbiting nearby stars, and gas giants – Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune in our solar system – are the largest and easiest planets to detect. The crushing pressure within their gassy atmosphere means they are unlikely to be hospitable to life. But the rocky moons orbiting such planets could have conditions that are more welcoming. Last year, astronomers discovered a planet-sized exomoon orbiting another gas giant planet outside our solar system.
In a new paper, (https://advances.sciencemag.org/content/5/10/eaaw8665) I argue that this exomoon is really what is called a captured planet.

In his recent Space News interviews, comparative mythologist Ev Cochrane introduced his extraordinary decades long research into ancient testimony of catastrophic celestial events witnessed on earth. As Cochrane explained, in countless ancient cultures, the identities of planets in myth, including Mars and Venus, cannot be explained in terms of anything seen in our world today.
The planet Mars, a distant pinpoint of light to the unaided eye today, was globally identified as a warrior-hero. The planet Venus, a bright pinpoint of light to modern skywatchers, was identified in various phases as a great comet, a goddess with flowing hair, a feathered serpent, and more.
In this conclusion, Cochrane begins by explaining the painstaking methodology he and colleague David Talbott developed over their decades long collaboration, which ultimately produced their reconstruction of recent planetary catastrophes witnessed on earth.

Published 11th October 2019
If you believe the world’s leading physicists, the vast majority of matter in the universe is hiding in plain sight. For nearly a century, evidence has mounted that the gravitational pull necessary to keep clusters of galaxies intact, as well as stars within galaxies from flying apart, requires far more matter than we can see—matter, according to the experts, that has eluded our telescopes, because it does not give off light. Problem is, such “dark matter” has also eluded one specially designed detector after another that researchers have deployed to catch it. Which raises the big question: What if we have failed to find dark matter because it isn’t there?
