SpaceX announced Monday it's aiming to launch this year the first all-civilian mission into Earth's orbit, led by a tech billionaire who plans to raffle off the remaining spots aboard the craft. Entrepreneur Jared Isaacman is to be joined by three other novice astronauts for a multi-day journey into space.

One seat will go to a worker from St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, which treats childhood cancers and pediatric diseases, while the others are to be drawn from a select raffle.

All crew members "will receive commercial astronaut training by SpaceX on the Falcon 9 launch vehicle and Dragon spacecraft," as well as orbital mechanics and stress testing, including operating in zero-gravity.

WASHINGTON — White House press secretary Jen Psaki for a second consecutive day had to answer questions on the U.S. Space Force at her daily briefing. The program “absolutely has the full support of the Biden administration. And we are not revisiting the decision to establish the Space Force,” Psaki said.

Psaki was criticized after her Feb. 2 briefing when she made light of a reporter’s question on what decisions Biden would make on the Space Force, suggesting the issue was not sufficiently important for the president to be concerned about. Psaki told the reporter that she would “check with our Space Force point of contact” for an update.

Following the briefing, the top Republican on the House Armed Services Committee Rep. Mike Rogers (R-AL) asked the White House to “immediately apologize” for what he called Psaki’s “disgraceful comment” on the Space Force.

Psaki did not apologize but in a tweet Tuesday evening invited the members of Space Force to the White House briefing room to talk about “the important work they’re doing.”

Best Celestial Event Of The Year? Comet C/2021 A1 LEONARD May Be Brightest Ever

Exciting news! A newly found comet might become 2021’s brightest comet. Astronomer Greg Leonard discovered the comet that now bears his name – C/2021 A1 (Leonard) – on January 3, 2021 at the Mount Lemmon Observatory in Arizona. Astronomers report that discovery images show a tail for the comet, suggesting we might see a nice tail as Comet Leonard draws closer to the Earth and sun.

The comet is still far away, currently between the orbits of Jupiter and Mars, heading inward. It’ll reach perihelion, its closest approach to the sun, around January 3, 2022.

There have been many bibles in space. Buzz Aldrin took communion wine and bread to the moon. However, there’s never been an actual church or temple in space. That could change soon when a group of Buddhist monks in Japan launch a temple into space, with a space Buddha onboard to bring happiness and peace and allow people on Earth to “connect with each other through outer space.”

If anyone knows how to run a temple, on Earth or in space, it’s the monks of the Daigoji Temple. Founded in 874, it’s a designated World Heritage Site and home to Kyoto’s oldest verified building – a five-story pagoda built in 951. The monks are just as serious about the Jotenin Gounji space temple.

Every once in awhile, there is a book that grabs the mind as revelation. In my life, one such book is The Gods of Eden by William Bramley, first published in 1989. William Bramley was then 36-years-old, an older student in law school at Santa Clara University in California. Between high school graduation and law school, he had gotten a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology because he was always fascinated by the political and war dynamics of human societies. But he needed to earn a practical living for his family and worked in hotel management for fifteen years. Finally, in his decision to go to law school, he also started a book about a question that had always troubled him: why does humanity war so much?

To William Bramley’s great surprise, the more he read about wars as far back as Mesopotamia, he also found a recurring theme of strange lights and aerial objects in the sky. Sometimes eyewitnesses connected the mysterious aerial lights to foul-smelling mists that reached the ground.

Farfarout: Astronomers Confirm Most Distant Object Observed in Our Solar System

A team of astronomers, including associate professor Chad Trujillo of Northern Arizona University's Department of Astronomy and Planetary Science, have confirmed a planetoid that is almost four times farther from the Sun than Pluto, making it the most distant object ever observed in our solar system. I think my tentative theory has merit that some of these UAPs are composed of anti-matter, or at least the effects release anti-matter. That is why it is so fuzzy with non-delineated edges - even with the Air Force's advanced tracking capabilities.

I am compiling a bit of information on anti-matter for a new thread. I believe it is pertinent and important. There are some interesting possibilities that come up due to the rule of symmetry that until about 1949 was a leading component in examining any new phenomena. It was only as Einstein's relativity theories took hold and the repercussions of atomic theory captured the imaginations of the scientific world that symmetry, that had held for so long and that had lead to so many discoveries and predictions (far more than even relativity can account for), fell out of favor. It was after this, imo, that science went astray and theoretical work took center stage. Since then, science, especially sub-atomic physics (but physics in general as well) and cosmology had to begin adding special conditions and exceptions to the standard model as it began deviating from observation.

On January 17th just before 8am, a Singapore Airlines flight was heading to land at Zurich Airport in Switzerland when an anonymous passenger turned on their camera in preparation to record the plane’s landing. In the video clip (below), lakes and fields of the distant Swiss landscape can be seen out the plane’s window before the aircraft begins to tilt to the right to apparently dodge something in the sky. As the pilot announces emergency procedures and passengers began to panic, a small white object suddenly zips past the plane, just below its flight path. According to reports, the pilot followed safety protocol and managed to avoid the UFO, making a safe landing at the Zurich Airport.

Witness report: On the night of 2/12/2021, I happened to look out of my kitchen window while talking to my wife when I noticed a group of strange lights in the sky. This video is what I recorded. The objects traveled to a certain part of the sky and stayed there, pulsated, and then vanished. I recorded 2 separate clips, because I thought the event ended, but more returned. At one point an airplane traveling east went in the general direction of the objects. The objects seemed unaffected by this and more returned in the sky. They had a reddish orange color. The cell phone camera didn’t pick up these colors.

Hyperbolic Comet NEOWISE is Falling Straight Through the Solar System

Comet NEOWISE (C/2021 A2) is unusual. It is falling through the solar system – almost straight through – barely feeling the gravity of the sun. In fact, when it leaves, it probably won't be back. Discovered in early January by NASA's Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer spacecraft, Comet NEOWISE is splitting the gap between Earth and Mars. The distant comet has a hyperbolic orbit (e=1.0010460), which means it is not bound to the sun. It might have come from the Oort Cloud or even from interstellar space. No one knows.

On December 3, 1967, around 2:30 a.m., in the vicinity of Ashland, Nebraska, police sergeant Herbert Schirmer, 22, noticed some red lights along Highway 63. Thinking that it was a stopped truck he approached and shown his high beams on it. Soon, he realized it was no truck. Instead, it was a disc-shaped object with a shiny, polished aluminum looking surface, and a catwalk that went around it. The red lights, which were blinking, were shining out from windows in the object. The UFO appeared to be a mere 6 to 8 feet above the road, and was hovering in the air with a slight tilt. Then, the object began to slowly ascend, making a siren kind of noise, and issuing a flame-like display from the underside. Sticking his head out the window, Sgt. Schirmer watched the UFO pass nearly overhead. Then suddenly, it shot up and out of sight.

Schirmer got out of the police car and, with a flashlight in hand, inspected the surface of the road where the object had hovered so low to the ground. After this, he drove to the police station and wrote in the log book, "Saw a flying saucer at the junction of highways 6 and 63. Believe it or not!" He was puzzled to notice that it was now 3 a.m., as the sighting seemingly lasted no more than ten minutes. As the morning wore on, Schirmer was to suffer a headache, a “weird buzzing” in his head, and would discover that he had a “red welt” on his neck. It was about two inches long and approximately half an inch wide, and was located on the “nerve cord” below one of his ears.

Later, under hypnosis, Schirmer would recall for investigators how humanoid beings, between 4½ to 5 feet tall, escorted him from his car and into the ship, where the "leader" gave him a tour and explained various things about themselves and their mission on earth.

The entities had slightly slanted "cat-like" eyes (that didn’t blink), gray-white skin, long and thin heads, with flat noses and slitlike mouths. They wore silver-gray uniforms, gloves, and helmets (which had a small antenna on the left side around their ear), and at the left breast of each suit they had the emblem of a winged serpent. Schirmer had the impression that the small antennas were somehow a part of their communication process with him - that part of their contact with him was mental and part of it was physical.

The incident occurred on the frosty winter morning of December 12, 1978, not far from Skipton in North Yorkshire. At 4:30 am, a lonely police patrol car was driving on a remote country road along the Cononley Moor. In the car were Sgt Anthony Dodd and Constable Alan Dale, who operated the radio. It was very dark and the road was lit only by the headlights of the car, the silence broken only by the noise of the motor and the occasional messages over the radio. Dodd loved that kind of mysterious stillness in the middle of a bare and unspoiled countryside, with dark houses snuggling up against the low hills as if seeking shelter from the cold winds, and the stone walls that divided the meadows from time immemorial.

It was the land of sagas and legends, of witches and elves, spirits and wills-o'-the-wisp, which lured unfortunate wanderers in the moor towards inescapable death. There was a magic in the air which, even thousands of years ago, the ancestors of the Celts must have been aware of, as is shown oy the mighty sacrificial altar stones in the middle of the moor.

Suddenly, a loud static noise, hissing and rustling, tore Sgt Dodd out of his reverie. They were just then driving into a curve when, to the right, a bright white light seemed to be diving towards them in a glide. They thought it was a burning airplane so they drove to the side and stopped the car to see what was happening and where it would land, in case help was required. It was, however, no airplane but a big shining disc which flew over their heads at a speed of about 40 mph. At its closest, it was hardly 100 feet away from them, so that they could see a number of details.

When interviewed in 1991 for the documentary film "UFO's: The Secret Evidence", he explained, "It had a dome with ports all around it. The bottom was surrounded by colored lights like neon lights in blue, red, green and white which blinked in a sequence as if they were rotating, and in the middle there were three spheres or hemispheres. It was a huge thing, about 100 feet in diameter, and it made no noise whatsoever. What fascinated me even more was that the object was enveloped in a kind of halo which made its entire metallic structure glow white. It flew slowly over our heads and seemed to land at a place behind a group of trees. But we couldn't see or check that out because at that point it was too far away and in the middle of the moor."

"What on Earth was that?" asked Constable Dale breaking the silence, brought back to reality by the penetrating cold. Sgt Dodd's answer came minutes after that.

"I don't know, but it was wonderful."

Mars helicopter reports in, New color images available

Mission controllers at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Southern California have received the first status report from the Ingenuity Mars Helicopter, which landed Feb. 18, 2021, at Jezero Crater attached to the belly of the agency's Mars 2020 Perseverance rover. The downlink indicates that both the helicopter, which will remain attached to the rover for 30 to 60 days, and its base station (an electrical box on the rover that stores and routes communications between the rotorcraft and Earth) are operating as expected.

The Juan Sillero Landings | Spain Investigated Strange 'Beings' Worried About Earth's Orbit

In 1977, a carpenter, Juan Sillero, says a 20-meter wide saucer landed near his home outside Gallarta, Spain. He told investigators a craft came four other times, one of which he went onboard and interacted with beings that looked human. They told him they were there “to help Earth” because it was “going out of its orbit and tilting too much.”

There’s a hidden message in the parachute of NASA’s Mars Rover

The parachute that helped NASA’s Perseverance rover land on Mars last week unfurled to reveal a seemingly random pattern of colors in video clips of the rover’s landing. But there was more to the story: NASA officials later said it contained a hidden message written in binary computer code.

Internet sleuths cracked the message within hours. The red and white pattern spelled out “Dare Mighty Things” in concentric rings. The saying is the Perseverance team’s motto, and it is also emblazoned on the walls of Mission Control at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), the mission team’s Southern California headquarters.

A Filament Slingshots Towards Earth | Solar Storm Forecast 02.22.2021

But just as this solar storm begins to wane, the Sun launches another solar storm, this time from filament that has been slingshot towards Earth. The NASA prediction model runs indicate this new solar storm will hit Earth as early as February 23rd.

These glowing lights don't just move about, but change speeds as well. You can see them staying relatively close to one another as if they are watching out for each other. The eyewitness states that he saw upwards of 30 UFOs, but we only get to see a few of them here. Apparently he was mesmerized at what he was seeing and suddenly remembered to record it on his phone.

Eyewitness: "Strange lights in the sky with no sound. Lights in the sky flying from the East to the West in the evening with no sound and a glowish reddish pink hue. No running lights observed."

3D Map Of A Million Binary Stars

Scientists said yesterday (February 22, 2021) that they’ve created a 3D plot of more than a million pairs of binary stars, that is, double stars orbiting a common center of gravity. Astronomer Kareem El-Badry of UC Berkeley created the new plot, which wildly improves upon previous data that revealed just 200 double-star pairs. The project was made possible by the European Space Agency’s Gaia space observatory, which is engaged in a multi-year process to create a 3D map of the Milky Way.
