On June 18, 1983, NASA astronaut Sally Ride became America's first woman in space after she and four colleagues blasted off on the space shuttle Challenger for the STS-7 mission. The astronauts spent 6 days in space deployed two communications satellites for Indonesia and Canada.

Ride became the first woman to operate Canadarm, the shuttle's robotic arm. She used it to deploy a Shuttle Pallet Satellite that was loaded with science experiments, and later used it again to bring the satellite back inside the shuttle. They returned to Earth on June 24. Ride later became the first American woman to travel a second time when she launched on another Challenger mission, STS-41G, in 1984.

In a case of The More We Learn, The Less We Know, astronomers using NASA's Hubble Space Telescope uncovered an unprecedented oddball galaxy that looked like it didn't have much dark matter. Some thought the finding was hard to believe and looked for a simpler explanation. Dark matter – as far as we know – is the invisible glue that makes up the bulk of the universe's matter. All galaxies appear to be dominated by it; in fact, galaxies are thought to form inside immense halos of dark matter.

So, finding a galaxy (named NGC 1052-DF2, referred to simply as "DF2") lacking the invisible stuff is an extraordinary claim that challenges conventional wisdom. It would have the potential to upset theories of galaxy formation and evolution.

"For almost every galaxy we look at, we say that we can't see most of the mass because it's dark matter," a NASA astronomer explained. "What you see is only the tip of the iceberg with Hubble. But in this case, what you see is what you get. Hubble really shows the entire thing. That's it. It's not just the tip of the iceberg, it's the whole iceberg."

Bolide Over the South of Spain (June 14) // Bola de Fuego Sobre el Sur de España (14 de Junio)

This stunning fireball was spotted over the south of Spain on 14 June 2021, at about 23:33 local time (equivalent to 21:33 universal time). The event was generated by a rock from the potentially hazardous asteroid 2004HW. The rock hit the atmosphere at about 50,000 km/h and generated a fireball that began at an altitude of about 83 km over the southwest of the province of Málaga, and ended at a height of around 38 km over the east of the province of Sevilla. Many casual eyewitnesses could see this bolide, most of them located in the provinces of Sevilla, Málaga, and Cádiz.

On December 11th, 1996 an unusual event took place along a 216 km (134 mile) stretch of the Klondike Highway in the Yukon Territory, Canada.

The sightings occurred in three major areas along the highway: Fox Lake, The Village of Carmacks, and The Village of Pelly Crossing each having 6, 9 and 7 witnesses respectively.

Capt. David D. Schindele was a Minuteman I intercontinental ballistic missile launch crew commander in the Minot Air Force Base missile field when he experienced a situation in which a flying object took down all 10 of the nuclear-tipped missiles he was responsible for, causing them to be unlaunchable. That was 50 years ago.

Air Force officials instructed Schindele never to speak about the incident and as far as he was concerned, it never happened.

On Dec. 6, 1966, the front page headline of the Minot Daily News on Dec. 6, 1966, read: “Minot Launch Control Center ‘Saucer’ Cited As One Indication of Outer Space Visitors." The story told about UFO incidents in the Minot area.

It Never Happened, Volume 1, is the title of Schindele’s new book about the Air Force’s cover-up of the UFO (unidentified flying objects).

Schindele was stationed at Minot AFB from July 1965 to May 1968.



During that time in Minot, many of us experienced unworldly incidents at Minuteman facilities but we were all individually instructed to keep silent. We never realized at the time that others among us were also experiencing incidents, but now the truth is becoming known. About 35 years after my Minot incident and learning about an identical incident experienced by another missileer (Capt. Robert Salas) connected to Malmstrom AFB in Montana, which was during the same general timeframe as my incident, I then contemplated coming forth with the truth. After discovering in 2010 that other missileers with me at Minot also experienced associated incidents, I then decided to conduct extensive research on Air Force cover-up to find out exactly why the Air Force told all of us to keep our ‘lips zipped.’ We all had top secret clearances, but that was not enough to allow the Air Force to provide truth to us, or to explain the incidents. We were all kept in the dark and never trained on how to manage such incidents and situations should they reoccur. It was a very disconcerting time for all of us.”

Schindele said there’s another aspect to this that must be understood.

“There are many Minot missileers who have taken their ‘secret’ to their grave, while some hold onto the secret to this very day because of very great trepidation involved. With the passing of more than 50 years since my incident at Minot and 70 years since the incident at Roswell, (N.M.) there can be no ethical, moral, or critical reason for keeping the secret from humankind any longer, and my other missileer friends agree with that."

MALMSTROM: A NEW WITNESS SPEAKS!

On March 16, 1967, an incredible event occurred at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana, USA. Multiple UFOs hovered at very low elevation over the nuclear missiles sites, and were viewed by many military officers at the base. Then, one by one, the nuclear Minuteman ICBM missiles mysteriously went offline. The entire base went on high alert. There was an immediate investigation and a cover-up of the event. Years later, in 1994, one of the witnesses, Captain Robert Salas went public and disclosed the event. After locating other witnesses, Salas published the book, FADED GIANT in 2005, and the encounter became established in UFO History.

In 2015, retired army officer Mel Hansen was shocked to learn that the Malmstrom incident was being presented on television. He was a firsthand witness to the encounter, but had always kept his participation in the event a secret from everyone except a few family members. Now that it was being shown on TV, Mel decided that it was time for him to talk about what he saw on that amazing night.

This video presents the incredible story of Mel Hansen, and what he saw and experienced at Malmstrom AFB in March of 1967. It was an encounter that would drastically alter his life and leave him forever convinced of the reality of UFOs and extraterrestrials. Mel's story provides further confirmation of one of the most important and profound cases in UFO history, a case that the Air Force is still trying to cover-up to this very day.

How do stars form? Most form in giant molecular clouds located in the central disk of a galaxy. The process is started, influenced, and limited by the stellar winds, jets, high energy starlight, and supernova explosions of previously existing stars. The featured video shows these complex interactions as computed by the STARFORGE simulation of a gas cloud 20,000 times the mass of our Sun. In the time-lapse visualization, lighter regions indicate denser gas, color encodes the gas speed (purple is slow, orange is fast), while dots indicate the positions of newly formed stars. As the video begins, a gas cloud spanning about 50 light years begins to condense under its own gravity. Within 2 million years, the first stars form, while newly formed massive stars are seen to expel impressive jets. The simulation is frozen after 4.3 million years, and the volume then rotated to gain a three-dimensional perspective. Much remains unknown about star formation, including the effect of the jets in limiting the masses of subsequently formed stars.

A singer/songwriter from California by way of Oklahoma, Sullivan played in the clubs and coffeehouses around Malibu in the mid to late 60's. The times were right for his style of music, and he gained a devoted following. Club owners were glad to book the singer, as they knew he would draw a crowd.

Friends and supporters felt so strongly about his talent, they helped finance the recording of an album in LA, even hiring the loose collective of top-notch session musicians known as the Wrecking Crew to back him up. Peter Fonda, a fan, gave him a small part in Easy Rider. The album, UFO, was released on a small label in 1969, and though it was re-released the following year on a larger label, it failed to garner commercial success. He recorded a second album in 1972 for Playboy Records, but it too went largely unnoticed.

Sullivan decided to go to Nashville and try his luck in the Music City, where he had connections, including his sister, an established singer and session musician. He left LA on the afternoon of March 4, 1975, promising his wife and son that they would join him later. Police in Santa Rosa, New Mexico pulled him over for erratic driving. They were satisfied that he was not under the influence, and Sullivan agreed to check into the local La Mesa Motel. Police reports indicate the bed was never slept in, and the key was found locked in the room. Although authorities later found his car 25 miles away near a desert ranch, he was never seen or heard from again.

WASHINGTON, July 27, 1952 – The Air Force said today that jet fighter planes had made an effort to intercept unknown objects in the sky over Washington last night after the objects had been spotted by radar, but that no direct contact had been made.

The romanticists who are willing to believe that Mars and Venus are inhabited by people so intelligent and advanced that they have been visiting us for centuries and giving us a periodic "once over" must be highly pleased with the reported failure of jet fighter planes to intercept what, a few months ago, were called "flying saucers" but are now called "objects."

It is not the first time that military planes had to give up in their attempts at interception. Past failures were easily accounted for by the impossibility of rising to the altitude to which meteorological and cosmic-ray balloons ascend. One pursuer lost his life because he climbed too high.

That radar should have detected the "object" in the latest attempt at interception is what may be expected of reflected radio waves that will spot birds on the wing, ribbons of tinsel and cellophane and rain. Radar testifies to the solidity of the "objects" seen over Washington.

Though the air force has done its best to dispose of the nonsense that comes from imaginative observers of "objects," it might do better. Why did pilots of jet planes that pursued "objects" over Washington fail to catch up with their quarry? Was it because they couldn't go no higher? Such questions are bound to be asked. Unless they are answered in simple language belief in visitors from outer space will be strengthened in those who cannot distinguish between speculation and scientific reasoning.

Comet Bernardinelli-Bernstein (2014UN271) 'Dwarfs' Previous Bolides

Don’t worry, but a huge comet is headed toward our sun. Scientists found it while studying old images from 2014 to 2018 taken for the Dark Energy Survey. Two University of Pennsylvania astronomers, Pedro Bernardinelli and Gary Bernstein, spotted the object heading inward from the Oort Cloud, possibly from as far as half a light-year away. Many have been calling it a mega comet.

The object was originally deigned 2014 UN271. Now it has been officially named Comet Bernardinelli-Bernstein, for its discoverers. It’s thought to be the largest comet yet discovered, possibly as big as a dwarf planet. It’s still far away and hard to see, but the current estimate suggests its nucleus, or core, is between 62 to 230 miles (100 to 370 km) in diameter. Whoa! That’s big for a comet.

146,000-Year-Old Archaic Human Cranium Represents New Species: Homo longi

Homo longi is phylogenetically closer to Homo sapiens than to Neanderthals or other archaic humans, according to new research.

In 1933, a well-preserved ancient human fossil known as the Harbin cranium was reportedly discovered when a bridge was built over the Songhua River in Harbin City, the Heilongjiang province, China. However, being unlike any previously discovered human remains, nobody could figure out what it was.

Now a team of Chinese, Australian and British researchers has finally solved the puzzle – the skull represents a previously unknown extinct human species. The research, published as three studies in the journal Innovation, suggests this is our closest relative in the human family tree.

“The Harbin fossil is one of the most complete human cranial fossils in the world,” said Professor Qiang Ji, a paleontologist at Hebei GEO University. “It preserved many morphological details that are critical for understanding the evolution of the Homo genus and the origin of Homo sapiens.”

The Harbin cranium is massive in size, larger than all other known-archaic humans. It is also relatively long and low and lacks the globularity of the modern human braincase. It has larger, almost square eye sockets, thick brow ridges, a wide mouth, and oversized teeth. It is so distinctive that Professor Ji and colleagues have suggested naming the cranium as a new species of Homo. They have called it Homo longi, which can be translated as "dragon river". It is named after the province in which it was found.

Thanks, this is a really interesting interview. Her message is very clear and if we are to believe (and Preston Dennett clearly does, which gives her credibility), she is a walk-in from a ET incarnation which put its body into cryogenic storage so that her soul could move into her current physical body. Then at the same time she says that she was not aware of her nature until after she had many ET visitation. So, does that she mean that she became a walk-in and then was asleep, until the ET visitations? But isn't the whole point of a walk-in soul that it is aware when it walks in?

The constellation of Sagittarius is supposed to be a centaur. That’s a mythical half man/half horse creature, carrying a bow and arrow. Good luck spotting the centaur in the stars!

But these same stars also make up what skywatchers call the Teapot in Sagittarius. And the Teapot is simple to spot. Unlike many star patterns, the Teapot actually looks like the object for which it’s named; it has a handle, spout and lid like a traditional teapot.

The center of the galaxy is located between the Tail of Scorpius and the Teapot of Sagittarius. In a dark sky, you can see clouds of “steam” ascending from the Teapot’s spout in this region. Really, you’re seeing countless stars in our Milky Way.

Gaze into the midst of this “steam” – in the thickest part of it – and you’ll be gazing toward the center of our Milky Way galaxy. When you look in this direction, you’re looking toward the massive black hole at our galaxy’s heart, a distance away of 30,000 light-years.

Sabah Beckons Ghost-Hunters With Haunted House to Boost Tourism

SANDAKAN (June 27): The Sabah state government of Malaysia is looking into promoting a different kind of tourism to boost the state’s industry, and is offering deals to visit paranormal locations in the area. A state minister warned that it is not for the faint-hearted. Sabah Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Jafry Ariffin explained that this kind of tourism involved hauntings associated with historical places in the state.

“Right now, throughout the world, there is this kind of dark tourism especially for visitors and there are many who are enthusiastic about it. But it requires some level of courage, so those with a weak heart, better not (partake in such an activity),” he told reporters after visiting the famed Agnes Keith House (pictured below).

Astronomers have measured motions within a remarkable cosmic structure for the first time using NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory. The data show a blast wave and debris from an exploded star moving away from the explosion site and colliding with a wall of surrounding gas. Researchers estimate that light from this explosion, or supernova, reached Earth about 1,700 years ago when the Mayan empire was flourishing and the Jin dynasty ruled China. However, by cosmic standards the supernova remnant formed by the explosion, which occurred when a massive star ran out of fuel and collapsed, is one of the youngest in the Milky Way galaxy.

Need some extra cash? NASA is preparing to establish a regular cadence of trips to the Moon under Artemis. To help the agency fine-tune its approach, NASA will award firm fixed-price, milestone-based contracts of up to $45 million for commercial-led work under a broad agency announcement released Thursday.

NASA is seeking new work to mature designs and conduct technology and engineering risk-reduction tasks for the human landing system (HLS), which will ferry Artemis astronauts from lunar orbit to the surface and back. Prior to opening the call for commercial space lunar transportation on a recurring basis, NASA is asking U.S. companies to hone HLS concepts and safety measures.

They found that children who undertook the project—including building their microscopes and conducting several at-home experiments—gained enhanced understanding of how microscopy works. Navy Pilot Claims Tic Tac UFO Disabled His Weapons System

Once I got the target of interest on my radar I took a lock and that’s when all the kinda funky things started happening. “The erratic nature of the tic-tac. The air speed was very telling to me. Then we started seeing what we call jam strobe lines. Strobe lines are vertical lines that show up on your radar that are indications that you are being jammed.”

The tic-tac UFO was jamming the radar of Lieutenant Commander Chad Underwood, the pilot who filmed the now famous encounter in 2004 between his F/A-18 Super Hornet and the USS Nimitz carrier group that was in exercises off the coast of southern California.


The thing that stood out to me the most was how erratic it was behaving. And what I mean by “erratic” is that its changes in altitude, air speed, and aspect were just unlike things that I’ve ever encountered before flying against other air targets. It was just behaving in ways that aren’t physically normal. That’s what caught my eye. Because, aircraft, whether they’re manned or unmanned, still have to obey the laws of physics. They have to have some source of lift, some source of propulsion. The Tic Tac was not doing that. It was going from like 50,000 feet to, you know, a hundred feet in like seconds, which is not possible.”

China is building up a base in the middle of nowhere, and it could evolve into the country’s version of the U.S.’s secretive Area 51. The base has gone from a dusty landing strip to ... something much more mysterious.

Last September, China launched its unmanned, reusable space plane for the first time. The vehicle remained in orbit for 2 days before landing at the 3-mile-long airstrip in the Xinjiang province. No one knew about the airfield prior to the landing.

In the last several months, at least a dozen new buildings have sprung up at the base, according to NPR. The reported new buildings suggest a base in the middle of nowhere, miles from any civilization, that could prove very useful to a country trying to keep its aerospace capabilities a secret. More Rogue Planets Found Drifting in Milky Way

Astronomers said on July 6, 2021, that they’ve used data from the Kepler planet-hunter to find a new crop of rogue planets. They are free-floating planets, unconnected to any star. Like children shoved from a schoolyard by a bigger bully, these rogues might have been ejected from their own star systems by interactions with larger planets. Astronomers used gravitational microlensing to find these lonely planets, amongst a sea of stars, located toward the center of our Milky Way galaxy.

Iain McDonald of the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom, now based at the Open University, used Kepler data from 2016 to make these discoveries. He said, "These signals are extremely difficult to find. Our observations pointed an elderly, ailing telescope with blurred vision at one the most densely crowded parts of the sky. There are already thousands of bright stars in that field of view that vary in brightness. Thousands of asteroids skimmed across our field. From that cacophony, we try to extract tiny, characteristic brightenings caused by planets, and we only have one chance to see a signal before it’s gone.

It’s about as easy as looking for the single blink of a firefly in the middle of a motorway, using only a handheld phone."

"Had an incredible occurrence Saturday night (July 3). Four is us went to Joshua Tree for hopeful ET sightings. Although a great night no sightings. However driving home while on the 10 freeway I spotted a huge object motionless in the middle of the sky. No sound no propulsion. It was hovering right in front above us in the air. I wanted to take photos and videos because it was up close and clear but there was no way to safely pull over on the freeway initially. And to take photos at night out a moving window would not work (although we did try). I was amazed that no one else on the freeway had a reaction to this large craft. I could not understand how the trucks and cars kept driving by. It was about 3:15 AM (we left the dessert very late, LOL)."

Six months ago, Brenden blocked one of his closest childhood friends, Tim, on social media. “I feel guilty about it,” the 37-year-old from California tells Inverse. “But I just couldn’t handle it anymore.”

Brenden, who asked that we not use his or Tim’s real name for privacy reasons, had been friends with Tim since the first day of fourth grade. They now live in different states. Social media should have been a good way to stay in touch, but Tim’s feed has become a string of angry conspiracy theories over the last several years.

“The first one I remember was about Sandy Hook [school shooting] being a false flag,” Brenden says. “I couldn’t believe it. I knew that [the theory] was out there, but I couldn’t imagine anyone I know actually believing it.”

Sophia Moskalenko is a psychologist who studies radicalization, mass identity, and conspiracy theories. She tells Inverse humans have always turned to conspiracy theories to make sense of a chaotic world. There are a few techniques to better reach to people in your life who have become radicalized — and one counterintuitive phrase to use.

There’s a specific kind of radicalization that’s lately become particularly prevalent, she explains: radicalization through media exposure to provably false conspiracy theories in the vein of QAnon and Infowars.

Moskalenko has researched this subject extensively —her new book about QAnon has a chapter on precisely this subject — and offers some advice.

1. Resist the temptation to try to talk them out of their beliefs
2. Be understanding
3. Stay connected
4. Take care of yourself

Moskalenko says one simple counterintuitive phrase is very effective at getting people to consider alternative points of view later on:

"I understand how you feel."

Was a UFO spotted in New Jersey on Monday September 14th, 2020? Or could it be the blimp scheduled to fly that same day in New Jersey?


That's my neck of the woods and yes it was a indeed a blimp promoting a NY Giants football game at the nearby stadium. I saw it in the evening as a flickering light from my living room window. I assumed it was a helicopter and was too tired to think more about it until I read the news the next day.

What is weird about this blimp is the green screen in the center of the blimp. If you are directly above it you can read the text it is flashing, but from the side, it looks like a saucer with a green light emanating from the center. It caused many traffic accidents, slowdowns and other disruptions.

Late July 2021 – Before Dawn – Delta Aquariids – Meteor Shower

Delta Aquariids

At this shower’s peak on or near July 27-30, 2021, the rather faint Delta Aquariid meteors will fall most abundantly in the predawn hours, though in the glaring light of a waning gibbous moon. Never fear; you’ll still be seeing Delta Aquariids when the Perseids peak in August.

Like the Eta Aquariids in May, the Delta Aquariid meteor shower in July favors the Southern Hemisphere and tropical latitudes in the Northern Hemisphere. It’s well viewed from latitudes like the southern U.S. These faint meteors appear to radiate from near the star Skat aka Delta in the constellation Aquarius the Water Bearer. The maximum hourly rate can reach 15 to 20 meteors in a dark sky. The nominal peak is around July 27-30, but, unlike many meteor showers, the Delta Aquariids lack a very definite peak. Instead, these medium-speed meteors ramble along fairly steadily throughout late July and early August. You’ll see plenty of Delta Aquariids mixed in with Perseids, if you’re watching in early August, and from a southerly latitude. An hour or two before dawn is usually the best time to watch the Delta Aquariids.

Look for the Summer Triangle, a large asterism visible in the east on July evenings. It consists of three bright stars in three separate constellations. These stars are Vega, Deneb and Altair. If you can find the Summer Triangle, you can use it to locate three of the sky’s smallest constellations. They are Vulpecula the Fox, Delphinus the Dolphin, and Sagitta the Arrow.

The Future Of The 1920s

"Futurism" is what people believed the future would be like at a given time. Similarly, "retrofuturism" is futurism of the past. Most people think of Victorian futurism (steampunk) and 1950s/1960s futurism (atompunk). 1920s futurism sits right in the middle, mostly forgotten. Technically, it's grouped in with "dieselpunk," which extends into the WWII period, but the aesthetic of the 1920s is a bit different. For example, in the 1920s version of the future, zeppelins and airships are all over the place, though by WWII, zeppelins were a thing of the past. In this video, we'll look at the 1920s conception of the future, then show examples from a few 1920s science and technology magazines called "Science And Invention."

We all have thoughts that come in out of left field and throw off everything. Whether you’re trying to study, or trying to focus, the IG post you saw yesterday or the article you just read, randomly comes to mind that doesn’t have anything to do with you.

These “inceptions” are the effects of what’s known as propaganda. Propaganda is “telling people what to think.”

Propaganda is dangerous — it doesn’t appeal to your logical mind; it appeals to your feelings, the language of your subconscious, the driver of 90% of the actions you take. By doing this, propaganda influences you to have certain thoughts that it placed there. These thoughts lead to actions like impulse buys, and before you know it, you have new shoes everywhere, or a Big Mac in your lap.

To grasp propaganda, you need to know the man who made it famous: Edward Bernays.

Bernays, the nephew of Sigmund Freud — the father of modern psychology — understood psychology and the working of the human mind, but more significantly, what made them tick.

If you want to go full-blown conspiracy, Bernays happens to be the grand-uncle of Marc Randolph, co-founder of Netflix. Talk about a first-class ticket to people’s subconscious.

Bernays effectively used propaganda to help companies sell products by appealing to the consumer’s wants and desires. How did cigarettes become so profitable? Thank Bernays. JC Penny, Sears, and other major retail giants. Thank Bernays. “You don’t need a new dress — you want a new dress because you know it’ll make you look good.” By using psychology techniques to appeal to the subconscious, Bernays and companies have been influencing consumers for years.

As with Bernays, Netflix has been keen on influencing the masses as well. Two examples include the R. Kelly trial and the orcas at SeaWorld. Both movements were driven by Netflix documentaries. After numerous years, R. Kelly went to jail, and SeaWorld had to change its policies. This shows the power of the propaganda machine, not just to increase sales but also to start a revolution.

Have you noticed that the sun, moon and planets all follow more or less the same path across our sky?

If you live in the high Arctic or Antarctic, you’ll see the sun or moon track along your horizon. But most of us – on most parts of Earth – see the sun arc across the sky from east to west, as Earth spins each day. The moon follows the sun’s path. And so do the major planets in our solar system. This imaginary track across our sky – the sun’s path during the day – is called the ecliptic.

In a cryptic tweet, Russia’s United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) appeared to troll the United States over its renewed interest in UFOs – or as the Department of Defense now terms them, “Unidentified Aerial Phenomena,”- while simultaneously teasing the upcoming reveal of a new Russian fighter jet.

Posted on its Russian language Twitter account on Sunday, July 11, UAC tweeted, “Everything is easier than it seems #ОАК #uac#Ростех #rostec # МАКС2021 #checkmate Something seems to be on the way.”

Accompanying the text was a vintage-colored image of a hilly forested area with a floating knight Chess piece and the words, “Guys, everything is simpler than you think.” The image used by the UAC is one of the most well-known alleged UFO photos, popularized by the TV show The X-Files and Agent Fox Mulder’s iconic “I Want to Believe” poster.

Three USO Cases With Humanoids

This video presents three such cases, all in close proximity to each other. The first involves a UFO landing on a beach at Playa Del Rey, an encounter that has stunning new corroboration. The second case involves a baffling USO encounter off the coast of Catalina Island, an incident which involves many strange aspects that have yet to be explained. Normally, the location of the blast site would rule out an impact on Earth. However, the explosion's debris squirted out sideways.
