This week, we saw SpaceX start adding Methane to the tank farm...but in a way that makes us start to worry about the legality of some of the farm's construction. Ship 21 nose was stacked, irregularly, onto Ship 22's aft section, and Ship 20 and Booster 4 were separated and underwent cryoproofing again. Elsewhere, Progress MS-19 and Cygnus NG-17 both launched to resupply the International Space Station, and Starlink faces a minor delay.

Dubbed the "Moon Gallery", the collection of miniature works of art, each no larger than 0.06 cubic inches (1 cubic centimeter), is a prototype test payload that will pave the way for delivering a similar gallery to the surface of the moon.

The spiky stars in the foreground of this backyard telescopic frame are well within our own Milky Way Galaxy. But the two eye-catching galaxies lie far beyond the Milky Way, at a distance of over 300 million light-years. Their distorted appearance is due to gravitational tides as the pair engage in close encounters. Cataloged as Arp 273 (also as UGC 1810), the galaxies do look peculiar, but interacting galaxies are now understood to be common in the universe. Nearby, the large spiral Andromeda Galaxy is known to be some 2 million light-years away and approaching the Milky Way. The peculiar galaxies of Arp 273 may offer an analog of their far future encounter. Repeated galaxy encounters on a cosmic timescale can ultimately result in a merger into a single galaxy of stars. From our perspective, the bright cores of the Arp 273 galaxies are separated by only a little over 100,000 light-years.

The Cat People: A True Story of UFO Contact

In 1956, ten-year-old Robert Hambly (pseudonym) was enjoying an afternoon of ice-skating with a dozen other children in a local park in the small town of Havre, Montana. Looking up, they were amazed to see several silvery spheres scooting across the sky. Robert had never heard about UFOs and had no idea what he was seeing, but he knew it wasn't normal.

Only a few days later, Robert's life changed forever. He awoke in the middle of the night to see a strange figure standing next to his bed. To Robert, the figure looked just like a three-foot-tall humanoid cat. It had a large, bald head, huge dark cat-like eyes, and a thin body. Unable to move, Robert was filled with fear. After a short time, the figure vanished. But for the next several years, Robert was visited over and over again.

Meanwhile, many miles away in Las Vegas, Nevada, a little girl, Melissa Branson, (pseudonym) woke up in her bedroom to see cat-like ETs moving through the wall. She told her parents who said Melissa must have had a nightmare. But Melissa knew better: she had been awake. And when it kept happening, she knew something very strange was happening to her.

Later, as a teen-ager, Melissa saw a UFO near her home, but still didn't connect it to her childhood visitations.

Both Melissa and Robert grew up, and many years later, they met, started dating, fell in love and got married. UFOs and aliens were the farthest thing from their minds. But in 1992, UFOs came roaring back into their lives. They watched the television miniseries "Intruders," and they realized that they both had very similar experiences with cat-like extraterrestrials. They also discovered that there was a history of UFO encounters on both sides of their families.

Then came a series of more UFO sightings. It wasn't long after the UFO sightings that, one night, the cat-like ETs returned. Frightened and angry, Robert mentally fought with the ETs, vanquishing them from his life forever.

Robert and Melissa's case contains unique and interesting elements that provide some important insights into the nature of the UFO phenomenon. Both feel that they were contacted by the same group of ETs who may have even brought them together. Both experienced telepathic contact with the UFOs. Perhaps most important, Robert was able to end his encounters by ordering the ETs to leave him alone. Their case is an important addition to our understanding of the extraterrestrial presence on our planet.

The ongoing miniaturizing of electronics calls for an ongoing reimagining of the devices that power them, and a new example from scientists at the Chemnitz University of Technology has taken this technology into tiny new territory. By deploying what's described as a Swiss-roll-inspired self-assembly process, the researchers have produced the world's smallest battery, which they say could find use in powering small sensors in the human body, among other applications.

Peeling off these individual layers sees the tension released and the materials snap back, rolling up around each other to take on the same architecture as a Swiss roll cake to create a "self-wound cylinder micro-battery." This device is smaller than one square millimeter across and around the size of a grain of dust, with a minimum energy density of 100 microwatt hours per square centimeter.

The dust storm couldn't keep NASA's Mars helicopter Ingenuity grounded forever.

The flight had originally been targeted for Jan. 5. But on New Year's Day, a big dust storm kicked up near the 28-mile-wide (45 kilometers) Jezero Crater, which Ingenuity and its robotic partner, NASA's Perseverance rover, have been exploring since February 2021. The Ingenuity team decided to stand down until the dust storm passed, making it the first aircraft ever to have a flight delayed by inclement weather on another planet.

The flight occurred on Feb. 8. All imagery of the flight that has been transmitted back to Earth has been compiled.

That was very cool...and how he was able to explore things through working there and evolve his experience.

IMHO, being on a job there - outside mostly - created a different environment within to experience these types of things. Notice how his account of his watch go missing and then found under the mattress had a different feel to it. I feel that is because it was occurring in his home space that it had a bit of a different impact.

For the people/family that lived on the ranch in the house it was a different experience because it was their home. When these things occur at your house where you live, it is more unnerving and can feel more threatening because it is your safe place. Although having his watch go missing wasn't scary, it did seem to affect him a little differently than his experiences when he was outside at the ranch.

My experiences at our home were sometimes threatening because it was affecting my kids and I did not know how to protect them from it.

The situation really affects how you react and perceive things. That interview was very educational and rewarding! :)

Colliding or interacting galaxies are commonplace, but the duo making up Arp 143 – NGC 2444 at left and NGC 2445 at right – are especially intriguing because of the post-collision fireworks. The galaxies presumably passed through one another in a head-on collision in the distant past, triggering a blaze of starbirth in rich gas clouds associated with NGC 2445.

As seen in this image captured by the Hubble Space Telescope, the resulting triangular shape of the vast stellar nursery is caused by the less flashy NGC 2444 at left, pulling young stars and dust away in an ongoing gravitational tug of war, forming a bridge of sorts between the galaxies.

THE TERMINATION EVENT HAS ARRIVED: Something big just happened on the sun. Solar physicists Scott McIntosh (NCAR) and Bob Leamon (U. Maryland-Baltimore County) call it "The Termination Event."

"Old Solar Cycle 24 has finally died -- it was terminated!" says McIntosh. "Now the new solar cycle, Solar Cycle 25, can really take off."

The "Termination Event" is a new idea in solar physics, outlined by McIntosh and Leamon in a December 2020 paper in the journal Solar Physics. Not everyone accepts it -- yet. If Solar Cycle 25 unfolds as McIntosh and Leamon predict, the Termination Event will have to be taken seriously.

Crescent-shaped Crater in China Breaks Record

Largest Asteroid Impact Crater in 100,000 Years

A team of researchers affiliated with several institutions in China and one in Austria has confirmed that a circular mountain ridge in China's Heilongjiang Province is a crater made by an asteroid strike.

Back in 2019, a team of researchers noticed what looked like a crater in the mountains of northeast China. Last year, the researchers looked at newer satellite images of the site and grew more convinced that it was a crater. They then made arrangements to study the crater up close. In addition to surveying the crater and the area around it, the team extracted a drill core from its center; the core's features provided strong evidence of an asteroid impact.

The crater is just the second impact crater ever found in China and adds to the 190 known craters worldwide. The new one has been named Yilan, after a nearby city.

It looks like the Perseverance rover has an unwanted passenger, a rock.

The rover’s Front Left Hazard Avoidance Camera A captured the image. When the rover is driving, it makes periodic stops to let the Hazard Cameras survey the immediate surroundings. The Hazard Cameras help evaluate the hazards in front of and behind the rover, like large boulders, deep trenches, or dunes. The cameras create 3D views of the surroundings that help the rover make its own decisions without consulting with the rover team on Earth on every move.

Sirius is nicknamed the Dog Star because it’s the brightest star in the constellation Canis Major (which means “greater dog” in Latin). It’s super bright because it’s one of the closest stars to our sun.

The name comes from ancient Egypt. They believed an alliance between the sun and the brightest star caused summer’s heat. Even today we use the expression “dog days” to mean sultry weather, unaware that its origins echo from those vanished centuries.

How to Find Sirius

Locate Orion, with its belt made up of three bright stars. Follow the stars downward and to the left to the brightest star in Canis Major, Sirius, which has a distinct blue-white color.

A mysterious furry green snake was found floating in a swamp in Thailand. The bizarre 2ft-long creature had a frilly body that looked like fur when it was found in Sakhon Nakhon province on February 26. It was taken home by local Tu, 49, after he noticed it moving slowly in the dirty water near his home while he was walking.

The snake has been identified as a skull snake (Homalopsis Buccata), also known as Linne’s Water Snake, and the fur is actually moss that attached to the slow-moving reptile, and will stay there until it molts.

A full-halo CME is heading directly for Earth. ETA: late on March 13th. Coronagraphs onboard the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) recorded the storm cloud leaving the sun earlier today:

This CME is the result of a long duration C2-class solar flare near sunspot AR2962. Normally, C-class flares are not considered to be strong. However, this one lasted nearly 12 hours, allowing it to pump plenty of energy into the CME.

Moderately-strong G2-class geomagnetic storms are possible after the CME arrives. During such storms, naked-eye auroras may appear in northern-tier US states from Maine to Washington. Power grids and satellites will experience little to no effect, however.

A new model of the CME from NASA pinpoints the arrival time around 1800 UT on March 13th. In this animation, the yellow dot is Earth:

Imagine that while you are enjoying your morning bowl of Cheerios, a spider drops from the ceiling and plops into the milk. Years later, you still can’t get near a bowl of cereal without feeling overcome with disgust.

Researchers have now directly observed what happens inside a brain learning that kind of emotionally charged response. In a new study published in January in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, a team at the University of Southern California was able to visualize memories forming in the brains of laboratory fish, imaging them under the microscope as they bloomed in beautiful fluorescent greens. From earlier work, they had expected the brain to encode the memory by slightly tweaking its neural architecture. Instead, the researchers were surprised to find a major overhaul in the connections.

What they saw reinforces the view that memory is a complex phenomenon involving a hodgepodge of encoding pathways. But it further suggests that the type of memory may be critical to how the brain chooses to encode it — a conclusion that may hint at why some kinds of deeply conditioned traumatic responses are so persistent, and so hard to unlearn ...

About three months before I was to leave I had an unusual comm with Spock. It started out like all the rest, with the normal preamble and subsequent, mostly numerical information. Because all the comms were from 30 seconds to 45 seconds long, I could tell the comm was coming to a close when I suddenly “tripped” and stepped up in my comm “level.” This is very difficult to describe, but the closest analogy I can find is what happens when you take too much mouthpiece into your mouth while playing a reed instrument. The beautiful sound you may have been making a moment before is quite suddenly replaced with a screeching sound. Although there is no sound associated with comms, it’s the closest I can come to describing what happened.

Spock immediately picked up on my accidental mental leap and “met me” on this other level. I was startled because I didn’t even know this other level existed prior. Spock immediately asked if I had intentionally changed planes.

(Note: I have no choice but to write the contents of the comms with my alien contacts in a conversational format, like two humans talking. The actual comms were much more rich in texture and informational in content but in ways I am unable to convey to the reader on paper.)

I answered “no” and told him that I didn’t even know this “plane” existed.

I use the word “plane” in this explanation because I can’t think of another alternative to how Spock referred to it. If Spock and I had been communicating vocally, I would have asked what was meant by that “word.” When you intuitively communicate, though, the rules are not the same. You understand things that otherwise make no sense in linguistic terms.

Spock immediately signed off and I was left wondering what had just happened. I knew from Spock’s response that this event was totally unexpected not only by me but also by him.

Thereafter, I kept trying to change planes each time I received a comm but to no avail. I started to think that it was a simple fluke and that I wouldn’t be able to repeat it when it finally happened again.

It was about two months from when it happened originally when I finally broke through again. Although I had been attempting to do it at the close of every comm with Spock, I was finally successful. It didn’t take me by surprise this time, either, because I was more in tune with the mechanics of what was happening.

Spock immediately picked up on what I had just done. Again, he asked if this was something I had done intentionally. This time I answered “Yes.”

Spock replied that it was an interesting turn of events and that he ignored it the first time because he felt it was an anomaly.

“Is this an unauthorized comm?” I asked.
“There is no harm in communicating on this plane,” he said nonchalantly.
I was surprised by how effortlessly he had said that. Here I had been sweating out the fact that I might have been doing something wrong and he acted as if it was no big deal.
“How come you are comm’ing so candidly on this plane and you don’t during our normal comms?” I asked.
“You have never given me reason,” he replied.

I stopped to think about this. It was true. I hadn’t attempted to ask any questions or to communicate anything except what pertained to our regular comms. I had always assumed we were not to discuss anything else. My impression of Spock was one of being official, with no room for emotion. Even as we now communicated on this other plane, I still felt a sense of rigidity. Perhaps this was just how they were.

Pressing forward with my curiosity, I asked whatever came to my mind first. Since I was thinking of how formal Spock sounded I continued with that line of thought. “Do you have feelings like humans?” I asked bluntly.
“We are quite alike in our emotional makeup, 118,” he said, referring to me as my PPD code number. “We react to our surroundings, just as you do, but are much less impacted by what we sense. In the absence of markedly increased stimuli, emotion is not readily useful.”

Wow! I was constantly reminding myself I was actually having a conversation, of sorts, with an alien species. Up to this moment I hadn’t internalized the meaning of it. Until now, I might as well have been receiving information from a computer somewhere on the other side of world. There was no meaning to it. Now I was actually communicating in such a manner that we could easily start talking about the Cowboys winning the Superbowl if we wanted. It was quite a shift in perception for me.

A million questions came to my mind. I managed to pick one and throw it out before I lost my new friend’s attention span.

“Why did you think it was unintentional when I first comm’ed with you on this plane?”
“Until now, we thought it impossible for a water-human to sustain communication on this plane. But we are continually being surprised by other IC’s abilities as well.”
(“Water-human” is the closest I can come to an accurate translation of how Spock referred to humans. Other alternatives would be perhaps “water-vessel” or “water-entity.”)

I realized by now that I had stopped typing our comms into my reporting window as soon as we had jumped to this other plane. I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to continue or not.

“Am I supposed to report our comms while on this other plane?” I asked, wanting the answer to be “no” so I could concentrate on what was being communicated.

To my surprise Spock said, “No, that is not necessary. Our communications are only being monitored through your reports so as to calculate an accuracy factor. Your communicating on this plane was never anticipated and therefore will never be known unless you discuss it with your chain of command.”
“Will anyone get upset if they find out I have communicated with you on this other level?” I asked. I was still slightly paranoid about what rule I might be breaking, if any.
“I am unaware of your people’s standards for this. However, we are not adverse to communicating with water-humans on this plane. It is interesting to us that we are able to communicate with water-humans as it is, but communicating on this plane creates even more interest.”

I recognized an underlying current of scientific interest in our communications that I had previously only sensed during our first few comms. I was thinking of this when Spock broke through my thoughts and said “comms will cease” and signed off.

Why Are We Seeing More Northern Lights This Year?

Solar cycle 25 is kicking off in style. Our sun has a cycle of activity and as it becomes more active, there will be more sightings of the northern (and southern) lights. That is what is happening this winter.

As well as emitting sunlight, our sun has an expanding atmosphere made of charged particles and magnetic fields. This high-speed solar wind blows over Earth, but Earth has its own magnetic field (imagine a large bar magnet with its poles roughly aligned with geographic north and south) and this can deflect the solar wind.

This magnetic barrier is weakest at the poles of the "bar magnet" so that we tend to see auroral displays at high latitudes. The bigger the space weather storm, the deeper charged particles can penetrate the magnetic field of Earth, so that during intense events, the northern lights are seen at lower latitudes.

Former CIA Specialist Reveals New Secrets of Area 51, Including Real Name

Area 51 is, in one sense, a living, breathing contradiction – the world’s best-known secret base. It has inspired numerous books, television shows and major motion pictures but was it ever truly a secret?

“Area 51 was never secret. You knew the existence of it. It’s just who was out there and what they were doing,” Thornton “T.D.” Barnes, a former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Radar Specialist said, who is preparing to release a new book. Barnes has probably done more than anyone to lift the veil of secrecy from Area 51. He’s the head of the Road Runners, a group of former Area 51 employees who came out into the open more than a decade ago to talk about the work they did in the Nevada desert.

Barnes took things further by nudging the CIA to declassify photos and documents about the base, things even the CIA didn’t seem to know, including the base’s real name— “Station D,” which was the CIA’s original name for Area 51. It is also in the title of Barnes’ new, definitive history of the place.

“They had all kinds of documents in there that identified it as Station D,” Barnes said.

The public had not seen that until now.

In his book, Barnes outlines the astonishing array of names, nicknames, and code names used for the base since the CIA first chose it in 1955 as the perfect spot to secretly test and fly the highly classified U-2 spy plane. The aerospace and defense company Lockheed Martin referred to the area as “Paradise Ranch,” a cruel joke to lure workers out to the desert.

“It was anything but paradise,” Barnes said.

“Paradise Ranch” became “The Ranch”, then “Red Square” or “The Box,” which referred to the no-fly zone around the base. Several other names popped up over the decades:

“Home Plate”
“Homey Airport”
“The Site”

Asteroid Spotted Just Before Hitting Earth's Atmosphere Wows Astronomers

On March 11, an astronomer spotted a small asteroid just hours before the space rock crashed into Earth's atmosphere and met its fiery demise.

Krisztián Sárneczky was observing the sky at the Piszkésteto Mountain Station, which is part of the Konkoly Observatory near Budapest in Hungary. During his observations, he spotted an asteroid, now dubbed 2022 EB5 by the Minor Planet Center. Scientists estimate that the space rock was about 10 feet (3 meters) wide (no big deal for an asteroid).

But the sighting soon got a lot more interesting: Just 30 minutes after the discovery, data showed that the space rock was a mere two hours away from colliding with Earth's atmosphere.

This is "probably a once in a lifetime" experience for an asteroid hunter, Sárneczky said, who has been searching regularly for near-Earth asteroids at Piszkésteto since August 2020.

The Local Group is the name for the collection of galaxies near the Milky Way. In total it’s about 10 million light-years across and contains over 80 galaxies.

The Milky Way itself dominates one side of the Local Group and is by far the largest object in its nearest vicinity. Many dwarf galaxies orbit the Milky Way, including the two Magellanic Clouds that are visible to the naked eye. On the other side of the Group sits Andromeda, another massive spiral galaxy about 2.5 million light-years away from, along with all of its satellite galaxies. Both the Milky Way and Andromeda have masses around 10^12 times that of the Sun, and each one contains several hundred billion stars.

The third largest member of the Group is Triangulum, which has a mass of about 50 billion solar masses. Triangulum sits about 750,000 light-years away from Andromeda.

All the members of the Local Group are gravitationally bound, meaning that their mutual gravitational attraction will keep them together. The Milky Way and Andromeda are moving towards each other, and will eventually collide in about 5 billion years. The Local Group is a part of the Virgo Supercluster, and is moving towards the Virgo Cluster, which is about 60 million light-years away.

Cosmonauts Arrive at Space Station in Yellow and Blue

Three Russian cosmonauts arrived at the International Space Station on Friday wearing yellow flight suits with blue accents, colors that appeared to match the Ukrainian flag. The men were the first new arrivals on the space station since the start of the Russian war in Ukraine last month.

Roscosmos cosmonauts Oleg Artemyev, Denis Matveyev and Sergey Korsakov blasted off successfully from the Russia-leased Baikonur launch facility in Kazakhstan in their Soyuz MS-21 spacecraft at 8:55 p.m. Friday (11:55 a.m. EDT). They smoothly docked at the station just over three hours later, joining two Russians, four Americans and a German on the orbiting outpost.

Video of Artemyev taken as the spacecraft prepared to dock with the space station showed him wearing a blue flight suit. It was unclear what, if any, message the yellow uniforms they changed into were intended to send.

A Stone Age woman who lived 4,000 years ago is leaning on her walking stick and looking ahead as a spirited young boy bursts into a run, in a stunning life-size reconstruction now on display in Sweden.

Although her likeness is new — it debuted last month in an exhibit about ancient people at Västernorrlands Museum — researchers have known about this woman's existence for nearly a century. During the construction of a road in the hamlet of Lagmansören in 1923, workers found her skeletal remains buried next to the remains of a child, likely a 7-year-old boy.

"With our eyes and perhaps in all times, you tend to think that this is a mother and son," said Oscar Nilsson, the Sweden-based forensic artist who spent 350 hours creating the lifelike model. "They could be. Or they could be siblings: sister and brother. They could be relatives, or they could just be tribe friends. We don't know, because the DNA was not that well preserved to establish this relationship."

But as Nilsson molded the woman's posture and sculpted her face, he pretended that she was near her son who was scampering ahead of her. "She's looking with the mother's eyes — both with love and a bit of discipline," Nilsson told Live Science. This stern but tender gaze looks as if she's on the cusp of calling out to the boy, telling him to be careful.

In the reconstruction, the woman from Lagmansören is dressed head to toe in fur and leather. This is the work of Helena Gjaerum, a Sweden-based independent archaeologist who uses Stone Age techniques for tanning leather. Before dressing the model, Gjaerum studied the ancient climate, landscape, vegetation and animal life of Neolithic Lagmansören. Based on what she uncovered, she designed the woman's clothes out of deer, moose and elk and the shoes out of reindeer, beaver and fox.

Although it looks delicate, the 7-light-year diameter bubble offers evidence of violent processes at work. Above and left of the Bubble's center is a hot, O-type star, several hundred thousand times more luminous and some 45-times more massive than the Sun. A fierce stellar wind and intense radiation from that star has blasted out the structure of glowing gas against denser material in a surrounding molecular cloud. The intriguing Bubble Nebula and associated cloud complex lie a mere 7,100 light-years away toward the boastful constellation Cassiopeia.

The great collaborators in music history may have had more than just musical chemistry: for songbirds, there could even be a link between minds.

In a new study, published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Science, researchers studied the brains of male and female plain-tailed wrens as they sang duets. Their synchronised music wasn’t just a matter of practice – it was the result of complex auditory feedback that inhibited the motor circuits in their partners’ brains. Put simply, if one bird was singing, the parts of its partner’s brain used for song-making would be temporarily “shut off” until the first bird was finished.

“You could say that timing is everything,” says co-author Eric Fortune, of the New Jersey Institute of Technology, US. “What these wrens have shown us is that for any good collaboration, partners need to become ‘one’ through sensory linkages. The take-home message is that when we are cooperating well…we become a single entity with our partners.”

Spiders rely quite significantly on touch to sense the world around them. Their bodies and legs are covered in tiny hairs and slits that can distinguish between different kinds of vibrations.

“The spider lives in an environment of vibrating strings," engineer Markus Buehler of MIT explained in 2021. "They don't see very well, so they sense their world through vibrations, which have different frequencies."

Prey blundering into a web makes a very different vibrational clamor from another spider coming a-wooing, or the stirring of a breeze, for example. Each strand of a web produces a different tone. To explore the structure of these kinds of webs, the team housed a tropical tent-web spider (Cyrtophora citricola) in a rectangular enclosure, and waited for it to fill the space with a three-dimensional web. Then they used a sheet laser to illuminate and create high-definition images of 2D cross-sections of the web.

A specially developed algorithm then pieced together the 3D architecture of the web from these 2D cross sections. To turn this into music, different sound frequencies were allocated to different strands. The notes thus generated were played in patterns based on the web's structure.

Mark Vande Hei: Breaking Records for Science

NASA astronaut Mark Vande Hei is returning to Earth after living in space for 355 days, the record for the longest single spaceflight by a NASA astronaut. GEOMAGNETIC STORM WATCH (G1-CLASS)

A CME is heading for Earth. Minor G1-class storms are possible when the storm cloud arrives on March 28th. Coronagraphs onboard the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) saw this as the CME left the sun on March 25th:

The CME is faint, but it is moving fast (959 km/s) squarely inside the Earth strike zone. It could deliver a sharp blow to our planet's magnetic field despite its low luminosity in the coronagraph movie.

NASA analysts have modeled the CME's trajectory. Note the yellow dot in the animation above. That's Earth.

If NASA's model is correct, the CME will miss Venus on March 27th before hitting Earth around 0 hours UT on March 28th. For observers in North America, this means the geomagnetic storm could begin after local nightfall on Sunday, March 27th. Photographic auroras could descend into northern-tier US states from Maine to Washington.

The Robinson Family UFO Siege

In 1975, the Robinson Family left their home in the San Fernando Valley in southern California to spend the weekend in a cabin located in Cedar Pines, in the remote wilderness of the San Bernardino National Forest. Little did they know, this weekend vacation would mark the beginning of a series of UFO encounters that would involve their entire family.

That evening, the mother, Diane Robinson, looked out the window of the cabin and saw a large round object covered with white lights, hovering and darting around before quickly zipping off. Meanwhile, in the lower cabin, her two young daughters (Jenny and Kelly) and their cousin, also observed the object. All the witnesses were deeply impressed that they had seen a genuine UFO. But it was just a simple sighting, and they thought that would be the end of it. But it was just the beginning.

Years later, in 1982, Kelly Robinson (now a teenager), traveled south to the small town of Julian to spend a few weeks at a church camp located in the remote Volcan Mountains. Laying outside one evening watching the stars, Kelly and her friends were amazed to see a star-like object flitting across the sky. It moved super-fast and at acute angles, making it obvious that it could not be a plane, helicopter, balloon, shooting star, satellite or any other conventional object. It was a UFO. After watching this object dance across the sky, Kelly and her friends became frightened and retreated inside. None of them talked about the sighting.

Over the next few years, Kelly returned to the same church camp in Julian, and on at least two other occasions, witnessed more UFOs. One time they watched an object for over an hour. It became an interesting and fun activity to look for UFOs, but it also made Kelly slightly nervous.

Events soon began to escalate. Back at the Robinson family home (located in Reseda, California,) Kelly's older sister, Jenny, was driving outside with her friends when they saw a strange unidentified flying object flitting around in the night sky. Again it was a star-like object, quite high in altitude, but obviously not a plane. And when Jenny saw it again, she began to wonder, why were they seeing so many UFOs? Soon they would have their answer.

In October 1987, Kelly (now age 19,) woke up in her bedroom to find herself surrounded by several gray aliens. "Do not be afraid," they said. "Come with us." Kelly was consumed with fear, and protested, explaining that she had a family, a job and bills to pay. The next thing she knew, Kelly found herself inside a small, rounded room with gray walls, laid out on a table. Small figures with large dark eyes, bald heads and grayish skin surrounded her, and told her that they needed to cut her arm. They then told her they needed to do an operation on her brain, and that Kelly would not remember any of this. "No," Kelly protested. "I will remember!" And she did.

When she woke up the next morning, she immediately looked at her arm and saw a thin, red scar where she had been cut by the grays. That was her first encounter, but two weeks later, the grays came back again. This began a series of encounters.

During one such event, Kelly was able to converse with the ETs, and they provided her with several predictions about her personal life. More strange events began to occur, including a series of weird poltergeist activity. Meanwhile, Kelly's mother, Diane, woke up to find a strange needle-like mark on her arm. And following one of Kelly's encounters, Diane had a very strange "dream," that she had been taken onboard a UFO and shown weird-looking babies. A human-looking figure entreated Diane to hold and nurture the babies, saying, "they have everything, but they need love."

This video presents the true story of the Robinson family's series of UFO encounters. What began with a simple sighting eventually escalated into a full-blown series of close encounters and onboard UFO experiences. This case reveals one of the main gray agendas to produce hybrid babies. It's a multiple witness case, and shows the patterns that often appear in many other cases of extraterrestrial contact.

This Week in Volcano News: Volcanic Eruptions on Pluto, Unrest at Azuma in Japan

Right now, there are 52 volcanoes actively erupting on the planet. One volcano which could soon join this list is Azuma in Japan, as ground uplift was detected alongside a series of earthquakes. Meanwhile, in the Philippines, the Taal volcano produced a major explosive eruption, causing its alert level to be raised to 3. And on the distant dwarf planet of Pluto, a series of young volcanoes which could very well still be active were confirmed to exist.

Twinkle, Twinkle: Astronomers Discover Farthest Star Yet

Astronomers have discovered the farthest star yet, a super-hot, super-bright giant that formed nearly 13 billion years ago at the dawn of the cosmos.

But this luminous blue star is long gone, so massive that it almost certainly exploded into bits just a few million years after emerging. Its swift demise makes it all the more incredible that an international team spotted it with observations by the Hubble Space Telescope. It takes eons for light emitted from distant stars to reach us.

It has been named Earendel, an Old English name which means morning star or rising light—"a fitting name for a star that we have observed in a time often referred to as `Cosmic Dawn." The previous record-holder, Icarus, also a blue supergiant star spotted by Hubble, formed 9.4 billion years ago. Current data indicate Earendel was more than 50 times the size of our sun and an estimated 1 million times brighter, outsizing Icarus.

"It's like a little snapshot in amber of the past," said NASA astrophysicist Jane Rigby. "We are literally understanding where we came from because we're made up of some of that stardust."

New sunspot counts from NOAA confirm that Solar Cycle 25 is racing ahead of the official forecast--and the gap is growing:

Sunspot counts have now exceeded predictions for 18 straight months. The monthly value at the end of March was more than twice the forecast, and the highest in nearly 7 years.

The "official forecast" comes from the Solar Cycle Prediction Panel, a group of scientists representing NOAA, NASA and International Space Environmental Services (ISES). The Panel predicted that Solar Cycle 25 would peak in July 2025 as a relatively weak cycle, similar in magnitude to its predecessor Solar Cycle 24. Instead, Solar Cycle 25 is shaping up to be stronger.

In March 2022, the sun produced 146 solar flares, including one X-flare and 13 M-flares. Auroras were sighted as far south as Colorado (+38N) and Nebraska (+42N). Multiple shortwave radio blackouts disrupted communications on ships at sea and airplanes flying over the poles. If current trends continue, April will be even busier. Stay tuned.

Detroit Professor Christopher Green was commissioned around 2010 by a secret $22 million defense program monitoring UFOs, to write a paper on injuries from close encounters with 'anomalous' craft. In an exclusive interview with DailyMail.com the forensic neuroimaging expert, who has worked with the CIA since the 1960s, said he dealt with 'hundreds of patients' including special forces officers and other military personnel hurt after interacting with unidentified craft, some of whom later died.

Some of the injuries resembled the mysterious 'Havana Syndrome', which intelligence agencies believe could be a series of clandestine attacks on US diplomats by a foreign power using targeted microwaves. But Professor Green's cases presented decades before the spate of injuries at the Cuban embassy in 2016 that gave the illness its name.

An unclassified version of Dr. Green's paper, titled 'Clinical Medical Acute & Subacute Field Effects on Human Dermal & Neurological Tissues', was released last year under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and describes symptoms of multiple sclerosis, brain damage, and burns sustained by patients from 'CE-III-IV events' [Close Encounters of the Third and Fourth Kind] – an apparent reference to interactions with, and even abductions by, UFOs.

Spanning over 500 thousand light-years, this stunning view also reveals new star clusters and matter flung far from the scene of the accident by gravitational tidal forces. The remarkably sharp ground-based image, an accumulation of 88 hours of exposure captured during 2012-2021, follows the faint tidal tails and distant background galaxies in the field of view. The suggestive overall visual appearance of the extended arcing structures gives the galaxy pair, also known as Arp 244, its popular name - The Antennae.

Pentagon: UFOs Left 'Radiation Burns' and 'Unaccounted For Pregnancies'

Encounters with UFOs have reportedly left Americans suffering from radiation burns, brain and nervous system damage, and even "unaccounted for pregnancy," according to a massive database of U.S. government reports recently made public through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request.

The database of documents includes more than 1,500 pages of UFO-related material from the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP) — a secretive U.S Department of Defense program that ran from 2007 to 2012. Despite never being classified as secret or top secret, the AATIP only became known to the public in 2017, when former program director Luis Elizondo resigned from the Pentagon and released several now-infamous videos of an unidentified aircraft moving in seemingly impossible ways to the media.

Shortly after the AATIP's existence was revealed, the U.S. outpost of the British Tabloid The Sun filed a FOIA request for any and all documents related to the program. Four years later — on April 5, 2022 — the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) honored the request by releasing more 1,574 pages of material to The Sun ...

April Warmup to Surge Across Eastern US

AccuWeather forecasters say that warmer days lie ahead for communities in the eastern half of the nation. As the jet stream transitions northward and pushes into southeastern Canada, mild conditions will surge across the region.

Early Sunday morning, unseasonably chilly air held firm across parts of the eastern United States. Residents in the Northeast recorded temperatures ranging in the 30s and 40s. Across the higher elevations of western New York, western Pennsylvania, and West Virginia, even a few snowflakes were reported overnight Saturday. Much of the Tennessee Valley and portions of the Carolinas, Alabama, and Georgia, were under either freeze warnings or frost advisories due to the low temperatures Saturday night. Monitoring for any possible spring freeze or frost is always pertinent because leaving any sensitive outdoor plants uncovered or exposed can damage plants.

The historic Axiom 1 mission crew docked to the International Space Station's (ISS) Harmony module space-facing port on Saturday morning following delays.

Soft capture was confirmed at 8:29 a.m. ET and docking was reported as "complete" at 8:41 a.m. ET. The success came after a minutes-long hold for the spaceflight due to a station video routing issue. The Crew Dragon Endeavour was initially expected to dock at 7:45 a.m. ET, but was held 20 meters away from the station as the station crew worked to troubleshoot the problem.

The crew of the 10-day flight includes former NASA astronaut Michael López-Alegría and paying passengers Larry Connor, Mark Pathy and Eytan Stibbe. The three paid $55 million apiece to be there. They join Expedition 67 crew members, including NASA astronauts Thomas Marshburn, Raja Chari and Kayla Barron, European Space Agency (ESA) astronaut Matthias Maurer and Roscosmos cosmonauts Oleg Artemyev, Sergey Korsokov and Denis Matveev.

The Lyrid meteor shower peaks in late April and space cadets in the Northern Hemisphere will get a good view of the dusty trail of a comet with a centuries-long orbit around the sun. The Lyrid meteors streak across the sky between April 14 and April 30, so skywatchers have a chance to see them during that window, weather permitting.

The Lyrids have been chronicled in many cultures over the past 2,700 years. Chinese astronomers noted prominent displays in 687 B.C. and 15 B.C. Also, in 1136, a report from Korea chronicled the shower with the words "many stars flew from the northeast," according to Space.com's Joe Rao.

In 1803, residents of Richmond, Virginia, went outside late at night after a fire alarm. A report from that time noted that the meteors resembled rockets in the sky.

"Shooting stars. This electrical phenomenon was observed on Wednesday morning last at Richmond and its vicinity, in a manner that alarmed many, and astonished every person that beheld it. From 1 until 3 in the morning, those starry meteors seemed to fall from every point in the heavens, in such numbers as to resemble a shower of sky rockets," wrote a journalist at the time.

Similar, impressive shower sightings took place in 1922 in Greece, 1945 in Japan, and 1982 in the United States.
