Jon Atack is the author of A Piece of Blue Sky, one of the very best books on L. Ron Hubbard and Scientology. He has a new edition of the book for sale, and he’s helping us sift through the legends, myths, and contested facts about Scientology that tend to get hashed and rehashed in books, articles, and especially on the Internet.




This week, Jon answers a question we get maybe more than any other. Scientology has so many outlandish concepts and makes so many unfulfillable promises, how is it that smart people get involved in it and then spend years chasing its impossible goals? Jon sent us this response, and we think it’s the best one we’ve seen yet on the subject.

JON: Russell Miller was perhaps the highest paid journalist in the UK, when he worked on the Sunday Times pieces that led to his still unrivalled biography of Ronald Hubbard, Bare-Faced Messiah. I put him in touch with a score of former members. When he came back from his first trip to the US, he was evidently baffled that every one of those he had interviewed was both intelligent and articulate. How could it be that such seemingly rational people could have been gulled by such a gauche conman?

Lawrence Wright, in the best book about the cult and Hollywood, wonders why RPFers failed to escape when the FBI took down the LA Org. Only a couple of weeks ago, a guy said to me that ex-members must feel pretty stupid when they realize just how gullible they’ve been. So, how could we have been so stupid?

A Baptist minister once asked me how anyone could possibly believe that 75 million years ago, Prince Xenu had rounded up the populations of the planets orbiting 76 stars and exploded them in volcanoes. Using hydrogen bombs. Like Russell, he’d forgotten that I had myself been that gullible. I suggested to him that there are people who believe that a man could not only walk on water, but also turn it into wine. I was mortified by the crimson blush that suffused his face. It was rude of me, but how else to make the point?

When some smart aleck tells me that the universe began with the Big Bang, as if that explained anything, I generally ask them how they know. So far, the answers to this question — and I’ve asked it many times — have always boiled down to: because the physicists say so, and you can trust them. Which is little better than: because the Bible says so, or the Vedas or Ronald Hubbard. I tend to believe in the Big Bang — but then, so have the Popes, for over fifty years now. But as much as I can spin a tale about the expanding universe and negative entropy, about quarks, Higgs’ boson and dark matter, I have no idea what or who had that Big Bang, and, apart from sticking the universe in an infinite and ever expanding series of parallels, or positing a Steady State universe, in which Big Bangs are infinitely regular (now called “cyclical universe theory,” by the way), there is little sensible to add to the picture. To paraphrase the Tao Te Ching, “I don’t know where the universe came from, but it must have come from somewhere, so I’ll call that tao.” Or “dark matter” or perhaps “phlogiston.”

We don’t know where it all came from. We don’t know if it means anything. And we certainly don’t know where it is going. Science helps considerably with “how,” but “why” will always be the province of belief. And all belief is fodder for the gullible, whether it happens to be true or not.

Even more so, however, there is a basic human mechanism, a set of reactions that are predictable, at least in terms of probability. In the beginning of almost all cult involvement is dislocation. The individual is dislodged from some old pattern: from an environment or a relationship. A job lost, a new town, a divorce, a different college, a death, a loss, a tragedy. Any significant change to the habitual, and not necessarily a bad change, opens us up to a new set of habits. It is how we are made.

For me, it was a lost girlfriend. For others it was a change at work, the loss of a spouse, or simply someone new in the environment who shook up old patterns of thinking. Vulnerability — dislocation — is deliberately created by Scientology from the first. The new victim is directed to the “ruin” — whatever they believe is ruining their life — so that they will become open to Scientology’s super-expensive snake oil. It is easy enough, just ask anyone to think about old age, disease, or death and he or she will most likely become glum. And it is easy to shove someone into his or her worst fear or greatest loss. It amazed me, as a baby Scientologist, sent out on the street with a clipboard, just how ready people were to share their most distressing problem with a stranger who had asked them some ridiculous questions (“what would you most like to be/do/have?”). The survey itself is bogus, too — just the first in a long series of deceptions on the “road to truth.” But then, as Hubbard said, “Honesty is sanity,” so Scientology is insane from the first.

Dislocation puts old patterns on hold. It censors typical behaviours, so that the newbie fits in to the newfound pack. Add to that a lot of deliberate encouragement — the old love-bombing trick of all salespeople — and you have a receptive person. Next up, give them a personality test, and always, always, always mark them down. The manual orders it, because, of course, no one is actually “up tone” who hasn’t paid substantial amounts to the cult. I’ve read a suicide note by a girl who gave up, after hearing such an “evaluation” (Ray Kemp, by the way threw the “Oxford Capacity Analysis” together, his qualification being a “doctorate” in Scientology, and time in the merchant marine. The questions are reworded from an earlier legitimate test, but marking down was no part of the original. And Kemp wasn’t even in Oxford at the time, nor had he spent a single day at any of its universities — ever more deception and pretence).

The “need of change” now firmly fixed, no matter what the problem is, it can be readily mended by some cheap course or other. In the day, that was always the Communication Course — training routines 0-4. Steven Hassan, perhaps the most eminent figure in the counter cult world, and also a leading expert on hypnosis, when he first saw these drills demonstrated, said that they were the “most overt form of hypnosis” that he had seen in any cult.

Inertia is a distressing aspect of the human condition. We do indeed throw good money after bad. Once committed to any idea, we tend to milk it, until we have run out of strength and inclination, and, with Scientology, that can take a lifetime. Though it is the cult that does the milking. The author of the seminal and essential Influence, Professor Robert Cialdini, calls this the “consistency principle.” Once you’ve sent the first ten dollars to the Nigerian scam artist, it becomes easier to write out a check for two hundred. Once you’ve bought a ten dollar Communication Course, it becomes easier to splash out a thousand on an “intensive” of “processing.” If the “body router” who lured you in had offered you an “intensive of processing,” you would have smiled and run a mile, but after committing a little, as all salespeople know, it is so much easier to commit the lot. Despite the promises, the Comm Course will not actually have solved your communication problems, but that is how the consistency principle works. By the time you get to the perfect and post-perfect states of Clear and Operating Thetan the goal posts have moved so far away that you can’t even see them, even though any objective test of the promises of these states finds them ludicrously lacking (compare Hubbard’s claims for Clear in his first book to his later dismissal of those claims. How readily his “scientific research” proved to be hollow, by his own admission, but only when he had something new to sell, which would surely do the trick for a not so modest fee — sorry, “fixed donation”).

Experts tell us that cult members tend to have an average of two years in college. Most are middle class and from loving families. It is not stupidity that led us in, but desperation. Cialdini tells the tale of an evening spent with a professor of logic watching a Transcendental Meditation lecture. At the end, the logician stood up and stumped the presenters with a series of questions that clearly exposed the irrationality of their claims. The presenters fell silent, dumbfounded and ashamed, yet many of the audience still signed up. When asked why, they told Cialdini that they had urgent problems, so would grab at any chance, and if they’d waited until tomorrow and thought about the irrationalities, they would have lost the chance to follow the proposed course. Even when it was against reason or good sense.

That desperation can be either to escape upset or, in some cases, to find a way to effectively help others, in a society beset with bogus “therapies” and magical beliefs. At the 1982 Clearwater Hearings, in Florida, OT V auditor Lori Taverna said that many people had told her that they’d joined Scientology, because they wanted to be like her. She had to explain that she was a cheerful and energetic person by nature. Scientology had neither created nor enhanced her condition.

When I finished my secret interview with a former Watchdog Committee member — who had been one of the 14 who ran the cult under Hubbard’s direction — he boasted that at least we would never again be taken in. I told him that the only and somewhat slim protection that I had was the knowledge that, like every other living soul, I am gullible. So, the question isn’t “How could you be so stupid?” but “How can we help people to recognise exploitative persuasion?”

Why is this site called “The Underground Bunker?”

When we wrote about Scientology at The Village Voice, we jokingly began referring to writing from an underground bunker. It proved to be a popular running gag, so when we left the Voice and started an independent site, we thought it would be a familiar name for our regular readers.

Why do you use “we” to refer to yourself?

It’s a columnist’s conceit we use out of habit and for no good reason except that it amuses us.

Why do you write about Scientology?

Because it interests us. We started writing about Scientology with our first cover story for the Phoenix New Times in November, 1995, and that experience only whetted our appetite for more. Some people cover Congress, other people cover the mafia, we cover Scientology. It’s a fascinating story that is only getting more interesting with time, and we enjoy being on the front row as this adventure unfolds.

Were you ever involved with Scientology?

No.

Does Scientology hassle you?

The church, through its private investigators, has tried to make reporting on it difficult for many journalists. It’s an occupational hazard.

You’re very critical of Scientology? Why?

We don’t like bullies.

Is Scientology a cult?

We find “cult” to be a completely meaningless word. At other websites, discussions about Scientology end up devolving into endless argument about words like “cult” or “religion.” At the Bunker, we call Scientology a church because that’s what Scientologists call it and because we’re more interested in what Scientology does than what it says about itself.

Was the 2005 South Park episode about Xenu really what Scientologists believe?

Yes and no. An important point to keep in mind is that Scientology is a system of increasingly expensive courses, and only a minority of church members reach the highest levels of advancement. A church spokeswoman once told us that only about 10 percent of Scientologists reach the “OT” levels, which include the story of Xenu the galactic overlord (in “OT III”) that South Park had fun with. And even for those Scientologists who do reach OT III and higher, they spend only a very short time considering the Xenu material, and for the most part it has almost nothing to do with their overall experience in the church. (The Xenu story leads to church members then exorcising “body thetans” — disembodied alien souls which are attached to each one of us — and spend years and huge amounts of money to do so. Body Thetans are much more a part of the upper-level Scientology experience than Xenu, which is dealt with only briefly.) So while the Xenu material is undoubtedly a striking part of Scientology’s esoteric system, and one that rightly does cast doubt on everything else L. Ron Hubbard came up with, when Scientologists tell you that Xenu has nothing to do with their experience in the church, they’re probably telling the truth.

When did Scientology, as a church, first begin?

L. Ron Hubbard created the first Scientology church corporation in Camden, New Jersey in December, 1953. A few months later, in February 1954, he had followers create a Church of Scientology in Los Angeles. Most newspapers refer to 1954 as the church’s founding, but 1953 is more accurate, so that’s what we use.

How many wives and children did L. Ron Hubbard have?

L. Ron Hubbard (1911-1986) was married three times and had seven children, four of whom are alive today. Hubbard married Margaret “Polly” Grubb (1907-1963) in 1933 and they were divorced in 1947. They had a son, L. Ron Hubbard Jr. or “Nibs,” (1934-1991), and a daughter, Katherine, known as Katie or Kay (1936-2010). Hubbard married Sara Elizabeth “Betty” Northrup (1924-1997) in 1946 (while still married to Polly Grubb) and they were divorced in 1951. They had a daughter, Alexis, born 1950. Hubbard married Mary Sue Whipp (1931-2002) in 1952. They had two sons and two daughters — Diana, b. 1952, Quentin (1954-1976), Suzette, b. 1955, and Arthur, b. 1958.

Did L. Ron Hubbard really say before he started Scientology that the only way to get rich is to start a religion?

Yes, and here’s our story about it.

Did the FBI really investigate Scientology for human trafficking and nearly raid Scientology’s International Base in 2010?

Yes, it did. We talked to numerous informants who worked with the FBI, and who said they were asked if they would ride along with agents on the raid to help them identify locations and people.

Why did the FBI give up on that idea and drop the investigation?

We have a theory about that.

After the FBI dropped its investigation, is it true that Homeland Security then begin an investigation?

Yes, we broke that story, but all indications are that it has also dropped its investigation.

Did you really break the story that Leah Remini left Scientology?

Yes, we printed our story about that on Monday, July 8, 2013, and the rest of the media caught up to the news when the New York Post put Leah on its front page on Thursday, July 11.

This is an amazing catch of a cross like UFO that is also caught cloaking on live cam. This footage was recorded at 13:53:50 or 1:53 pm. U.S. THINKS AGENT REVEALED TUNNEL AT SOVIET EMBASSY

WASHINGTON, March 3 — The United States government constructed a secret tunnel under the Soviet Union's embassy in Washington to eavesdrop, but federal investigators now believe the operation was betrayed by the F.B.I. agent who was arrested last month on charges of spying for Moscow, current and former United States intelligence and law enforcement officials say.

The secret tunnel operation, which officials indicated was run jointly by the F.B.I. and the National Security Agency, was part of a broad United States effort to eavesdrop on and track Soviet — later Russian — facilities and personnel operating in the United States.

Spokesmen at the F.B.I. and the White House declined to comment on the tunnel operation today.

Current and former United States officials estimated that the tunnel construction and related intelligence-gathering activities cost several hundred million dollars, apparently making it the most expensive clandestine intelligence operation that the agent, Robert Philip Hanssen, is accused of betraying. The tunnel was designed to aid in a sophisticated operation to eavesdrop on communications and conversations in the Soviet Embassy complex, which was built in the 1970's and 1980's but was not fully occupied until the 1990's.

In the 1980's, at about the time the tunnel operation was under way, the United States and the Soviet Union argued bitterly over their respective embassies in Moscow and Washington, with the United States accusing Moscow of spying at both locations.

The government has never publicly disclosed the existence of the tunnel operation. But in an F.B.I. affidavit in the Hanssen case, the government stated that Mr. Hanssen "compromised an entire technical program of enormous value, expense and importance to the United States government." Officials said that was a reference to the tunnel operation and related intelligence activities.

The government charges that Mr. Hanssen, a 25-year veteran of the F.B.I. and a counterintelligence expert, volunteered to spy for Moscow in October 1985. He was arrested on Feb. 18 in a Virginia park after leaving a package containing classified documents for his Russian handlers, according to the affidavit.

It could not be determined when the government believes Mr. Hanssen betrayed the tunnel operation and related intelligence-gathering activities targeting the embassy complex. Nor are many details known about how and when the operation was mounted, or whether it ever succeeded in collecting useful intelligence.

But the emerging belief that the tunnel program had been compromised was a factor in the government's decision to keep looking for additional spies after the 1994 arrest of the C.I.A. officer Aldrich H. Ames, according to current and former officials.

A secret investigative team was established to identify the source of a series of damaging intelligence losses, including the tunnel and related activities against the embassy, that could not be explained by Mr. Ames. Other unexplained intelligence losses — including other technical intelligence programs, as well as the 1989 disclosure to Moscow that the F.B.I. was conducting an espionage investigation of a State Department official, Felix S. Bloch — also prompted officials to begin a new mole hunt, officials added.

That mole-hunt team played a critical role in the counterespionage probe that led to Mr. Hanssen's arrest, United States officials said. It was a successor to an earlier C.I.A. mole-hunt team that helped uncover Mr. Ames. The tunnel was built under Moscow's embassy complex on Washington's Wisconsin Avenue, a hilltop location known as Mount Alto, officials said.

The Soviets were prevented for years from fully occupying the embassy complex as a result of a long- running dispute with the United States about charges that the American Embassy in Moscow had been thoroughly bugged. Soviet diplomats occupied apartments there in 1979, and Congressional critics charged that they were using those buildings as espionage outposts. In the mid- 1980's, some American lawmakers claimed that the hilltop location would give the Soviets an edge in intelligence gathering against United States government buildings in Washington. The new embassy complex was not fully occupied until after the collapse of the Soviet Union.

Meanwhile, the American intelligence offensive against the embassy remained hidden from public view even as the United States publicly protested a Soviet campaign to lace the new United States Embassy in Moscow with listening devices. Construction on the new American Embassy in Moscow was halted in 1985 after the Reagan administration protested that Soviet construction crews were imbedding eavesdropping equipment within the walls of the new chancery building. The disclosure that the United States believed that the new embassy was bugged sparked Congressional hearings and criticism of the handling of the matter by the State Department and the Central Intelligence Agency.

Ultimately, after considering tearing the embassy down, the United States flew in American construction workers and lopped off the top two floors and replaced them with two new secure floors before finally occupying the new facility.

The United States operation against the new Soviet Embassy in Washington, like the Soviet bugging of the United States Embassy complex, was designed to eavesdrop on electronic communications and conversations inside the facility. F.B.I. agents were secretly placed in critical jobs in some of the key contractors hired by the Soviets, according to an individual knowledegable about the planning of the operation. That individual said that bugging the building involved the use of secret technology developed by the intelligence community to pick up sounds inside a large building.

The tunnel operation against the Soviet complex, designed to tap into electronic communications inside the embassy facility, is just one of many similar clandestine technical operations run by the United States intelligence community, both during and since the cold war. And, like the embassy operation, many of those other operations were eventually compromised by spies.

In the 1950's, the C.I.A. dug a tunnel into East Berlin in order to tap into Soviet telephone lines. But George Blake, a British intelligence officer who was then a spy for Moscow, is believed to have betrayed the operation to the Soviets.

In the 1970's, the United States Navy used submarines to tap into Soviet undersea communications cables. In 1972, the Navy tapped into an undersea cable used by the Soviet Navy in the Pacific, largely in hopes of gaining intelligence about the locations of Soviet ballistic missile submarines. In 1979, the Navy began a similar operation in the Barents Sea to tap into a communications line that went to and from the headquarters of the Soviet Union's biggest fleet.

In 1980, Ronald Pelton, a former National Security Agency employee, compromised the Pacific cable tap operation by alerting the Soviets to the operation. But Mr. Pelton, who was arrested in 1985 on espionage charges, is not believed to have known about the Barents Sea operation, which continued for years afterward.

The C.I.A. also conducted a secret operation to tap into a communications line outside Moscow. Code- named TAW, that cable-tapping operation continued for several years in the early 1980's. But it is believed to have been compromised by Edward Lee Howard, a C.I.A. case officer who was fired from his job in 1983 and later began to spy for Moscow. Mr. Howard defected to Moscow in 1985. Mr. Ames may also have betrayed the TAW operation. He also apparently compromised a technical operation code-named Absorb, in which the C.I.A. hid sophisticated nuclear detection equipment on a rail car crossing the Soviet Union in an attempt to identify the locations of Soviet nuclear warheads.

Indeed, the record on the value of the intelligence gleaned from many of these high-cost technical intelligence programs is mixed, current and former officials say.

In fact, a former United States intelligence official said he was not certain that the Soviet Embassy tunnel operation ever actually produced any intelligence.

Another official suggested that technical problems prevented the operation from becoming productive. That official suggested that the tunnel was both compromised by a spy, and also failed on technical grounds.

The following is excerpted from One Mind: How Our Individual Mind is Part of a Greater Consciousness and Why It Matters, published by Hay House.

On January 2, 2007, Wesley Autrey, a 50-year-old, African-American construction worker and Navy veteran, was waiting for a subway train in Manhattan with his two young daughters at around 12:45 P.M. As Autrey stood there, he was unaware that he was about to become involved in a sequence of events that would change his life, and which would reveal profound truths about the nature of the human mind.

He noticed a young man, Cameron Hollopeter, 20, having a seizure. The man managed to get to his feet, but stumbled from the platform onto the tracks between the two rails. Autrey saw the lights of an approaching train and made an instant decision. He jumped onto the tracks, thinking he would have time to drag Hollopeter away. Realizing this was impossible, he covered Hollopeter’s body with his own and pressed him down in a drainage ditch about a foot deep between the tracks. The train operator tried to stop and the brakes screeched, but by the time he could do so five cars had passed over the two men. It was a close call; the cars were so close to Autrey they smudged grease on his blue knit cap. Autrey heard onlookers screaming. “We’re O.K. down here,” he yelled back, “but I’ve got two daughters up there. Let them know their father’s O.K.” Then he heard cries of wonder and applause from the bystanders.

Hollopeter, a student at the New York Film Academy, was taken to hospital, but sustained only bumps and bruises. Autrey refused medical help because, he said, nothing was wrong.
Why did Autrey do it? He told The New York Times, “I don’t feel like I did something spectacular; I just saw someone who needed help. I did what I felt was right.”1 He said further that, as a construction worker, he was used to working in confined spaces, and that his judgment in this case proved to be “pretty right.”

Autrey was extraordinarily modest, but this did not shield him from the public’s adulation. He was an overnight celebrity, with appearances on several national morning news programs and late-night shows. Gifts poured in — scholarships and computers for his two daughters, a new Jeep Patriot, season tickets to the New Jersey Nets, a one-year free parking pass for use anywhere in New York City, and a year of free subway rides, among others. Time magazine named him as one of the 100 most influential people in the world for 2007.3 He was named an Everyday Hero by CNN to honor those who have made a difference in the world. He was a guest at the 2007 State of the Union Address to the U. S. Congress, where he received a standing ovation.

Why Risk Everything?

Why would one person willingly risk or sacrifice his or her life for another? The answer might seem obvious: because he or she simply cares and has empathy or love for the person in need. But that answer is not good enough for evolutionary biologists, who want to know what purpose is served by the caring, empathy, and love. What does the individual gain by acting on these feelings? According to the tenets of evolutionary biology, we are genetically programed to act in ways that insure our survival and reproduction. Our empathic acts, therefore, might extend to those closest to us who share our genes — our siblings, children, our kinship group — because helping them helps us genetically in the long run. Or we might extend empathy toward our tribe or social unit, because we might one day need them to reciprocate.

In this light, actions like Wesley Autrey’s are biological heresy. He was not remotely connected with Cameron Hollopeter, not racially, socially, occupationally, or culturally. Autrey’s genes would not have benefited if he died saving the young white man. So, according to evolutionary biology, Wesley Autrey should have stayed on the subway platform and let Cameron Hollopeter shift for himself.

Some might argue that Autrey did benefit from saving Hollopeter. He became famous, his daughters got college funds and computers, he received cash awards and other tangible benefits. Since his action changed his circumstances and made his life and that of his daughters less difficult, perhaps there was a genetic payback in what he did. But he did not know these things would happen. And in any case, was it worth risking his life in what appeared to be certain death? Surely not. In this dangerous situation, genetic conservation should have kept Autrey on the platform with his daughters, along with all the onlookers who thought it would be suicidal to act as he did.

Others argue that our brains are hardwired for empathy. So-called mirror neurons recently have been discovered in the brains of primates including humans. These cells are activated when we view the actions of others, just as if we were performing those actions ourselves. These neurons are also called empathy neurons because, some say, they cause us to share the feelings of another. According to this line of thinking, the mirror neurons in Wesley Autrey’s brain instantly fired a burst of activity the moment he saw Hollopeter fall onto the tracks, and motivated him toward his selfless act. If so, why didn’t the empathy neurons of other witnesses prompt them as well? In any case, this field remains hugely controversial and leaves completely untouched the sticky question, conveniently overlooked by mirror-neuron enthusiasts, of how the firing of a neuron can actually be translated into the feeling of empathy, caring, love, courage, or any other emotion.

Becoming Someone Else

Joseph Campbell, the great mythologist, was interested in why people perform selfless acts. He was influenced by the views of the German philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer (1788-1860). Campbell observed, “There’s [a] wonderful question Schopenhauer asked. How is it that an individual can so participate in the danger and pain of another that, forgetting his own self-protection, he moves spontaneously to the other’s rescue, even at the cost of his own life?” Schopenhauer believed that self-sacrifice for another occurs because the rescuer realizes that he or she and the individual in need are one.

At the decisive moment, the sense of separation is totally overcome. The danger to the needy person becomes that of the rescuer. The prior sense of separateness is simply a function of the way we experience things in space and time: we may appear separate and often feel separate, but the separation is not fundamental. Because we experience ourselves as one with the person in need, when we risk our life to save them we are essentially saving ourselves.

Campbell elaborated, “Now, that spontaneous compassion, I think, would jump culture lines. If you were to see someone of a totally alien world — even a person or a race or nation that you had no sympathy for — the recognition of a common human identity would spark a response. And the ultimate reference of mythology is to that single entity, which is the human being as human.”
I have never heard of a rescuer inquiring whether the person in immediate need is a Democrat or Republican, whether they are pro-choice or anti-abortion, how they stand on global climate change, or whether they favor allopathic medicine or homeopathy. The reaction to another human in need leapfrogs these issues in favor of a human-to-human response.

Schopenhauer realized this. As he wrote in his 1840 book On the Basis of Morality, “Universal compassion is the only guarantee of morality.” He elaborated, “My own true inner being actually exists in every living creature as truly and immediately as known to my consciousness only in myself. This realization, for which the standard formula is in Sanskrit tat tvam asi, is the ground of compassion upon which all true, that is to say unselfish, virtue rests and whose expression is in every good deed.”

I’m willing to bet that Wesley Autrey never read a scrap of Campbell or Schopenhaur. He didn’t have to. And that’s the point. When he covered Cameron Hollopeter in the path of an oncoming train, he was defying all instincts for perpetuating his genes. He was in the embrace of the One Mind that binds us all, the unity so clearly glimpsed by luminaries such as Campbell and Schopenhauer. At the decisive moment, from the One-Mind perspective of consciousness, Wesley Autrey was Cameron Hollopeter.

The Downed Chopper

I have long been fascinated by why the Wesley Autreys of the world do what they do. This is not just philosophical curiosity.

I served as a battalion surgeon in Vietnam in 1968-69 in the boonies, beyond anything as fancy as the MASH units popularized in the famous TV series. My world was a sandbag- and barbed wire-protected primitive aid station with minimal equipment, and helicopter missions to aid wounded troops. I was involved in several Autrey-like moments in which I had to make an immediate decision about putting my life on the line for young men in need.

One day in October 1969, a helicopter crashed not far from my forward battalion aid station. I ran to the crash site. When I arrived, the upside-down chopper was ringed by a group of soldiers at a safe distance, because of the expectation that it would explode. The pilot was still conscious, but was trapped in the wreckage and was moaning in pain. Without thinking, I began shoveling sand from the door of the inverted aircraft, entered, and cut the seat belts trapping the pilot. One of my medical crew joined me, and we maneuvered the pilot from the wreckage and carried him to safety. To this day the smell of jet fuel pouring from the ruptured fuel tanks remains a vivid memory, but fortunately the aircraft did not explode. I started an I.V. on the pilot, gave him morphine for his pain, and put him on a med-evac helicopter that flew him to a medical facility for further attention.

Similar incidents marked my time in the war, which I’ve described elsewhere.8

When I returned to the U. S., I was amazed on looking back. Before going to Vietnam, I swore I would never take risks, out of respect for my family and those who cared about me. But whenever instances like the crashed helicopter arose, these resolutions evaporated like morning mist in the desert. It was as if they never existed. There was no careful deliberation during these decisive moments, no weighing of consequences, just action.

I wondered why I did it. I never considered myself a risk-taker. As a physician, I was taught always to be in control to the extent possible, to leave nothing to chance, to apply critical reasoning in every situation.

What had happened?

I remember the day, about a year after my return from Vietnam, when in random readings I stumbled onto Schopenhauer’s description — how at the crucial moment the rescuer’s consciousness fuses with that of the person in need, how separateness dissolves and individuality is set aside, how division is overcome and oneness becomes real. I knew in a heartbeat that this was the explanation for my irrational, risky behavior in the war zone. It was as if a veil had been lifted. This was an epiphany, a forceful revelation of adamantine clarity, an insight into a troubling period in my life I had not been able to fathom. For me, in Vietnam the One Mind had been made flesh. It was a priceless gift for which I still tremble in gratitude.

I find it disturbing when photographers are intent on filming tragedy instead of helping save lives. I think that's weird! I think it's great to acknowledge heroic actions but sad that it is not the normal reaction to many people.

I agree Carmen and it is sad that there are people who don't do anything to help others. The Bystander effect (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bystander_effect) somewhat explains it.


The bystander effect is a social psychological phenomenon that refers to cases in which individuals do not offer any means of help to a victim when other people are present. The probability of help is inversely related to the number of bystanders. In other words, the greater the number of bystanders, the less likely it is that any one of them will help. Several variables help to explain why the bystander effect occurs. These variables include: ambiguity, cohesiveness and diffusion of responsibility.

I can only speak from my own experience, but I have and always will help others when I see that they need help. Because I understand that they truly are a part of me. It also always moves me when I see people expressing genuine kindness and help to others. Unfortunately most of the people in power tend to show narcissistic and even psychopathic traits and that explains why they don't care about the people.

Well ... first let me say that i commend Kerry for this excellent spill (regurgitation) of information via Mark Richards ... And note from my perspective (knowingness) it most accurately summaries the very tacit alignments and relationships between the numerous race (types) of beings, that strive for the complete control and dominance of (all aspect related to) this planet... especially its human element.

There should be no doubt in that our (the) current earth bound situation, has layers of negative attributes attached to the dilemma. A balloon returned from a high-altitude flight this year covered in microscopic life forms which seemed not to be of this world, and reignited the debate over whether life on Earth actually began here, or somewhere else.



This year, other scientists have argued that life originated on Mars, due to a mineral found in Martian meteorites, thought to be crucial to the genesis of life. Another experiment showed that amino acids could have arrived in impacts with comets, which suggests life might be widespread in the solar system.

But a new book by American ecologist Dr Ellis Silver argues that humans may well not be from Earth - and may have arrived separately. Silver offers arguments, based on human physiology, that suggest we may not have evolved alongside other life on Earth, but arrived from elsewhere, brought here by aliens as recently as a few tens of thousands of years ago.

Silver, an environmentalist who is currently working with the effort to clean plastic debris from the Pacific, says his book aims to provoke debate, and is based on scientific work on the difference between humans and other animals.

“The Earth approximately meets our needs as a species, but perhaps not as strongly as whoever brought us here initially thought,” Silver said in an interview with Yahoo news.

Silver claims that some chronic illnesses that plague the human race - such as bad backs - could be a sign we evolved on a world with lower gravity. Silver points to other unique human traits, such as the fact that babies’ heads are so large that women have trouble giving birth, in earlier eras, this was often fatal for mother, child or both.

“No other truly native species on this planet has this problem,” he says. Silver also points out to the “extra” 223 genes in human beings, which are not found in any other species, and to the lack of a fossil “missing link”.

Silver chose not to publish in a scientific imprint, wanting to inspire open debate.

Reviewers have compared Silver to other space-gazing theorists such as Erich von Däniken, while others have said, “it is possible to drive a coach and horses through several of his arguments.”

Silver also claims that the human race has defects that mark us out as being possibly “not of this world”.

“We are all chronically ill,” says Silver. “Indeed, if you can find a single person who is 100% fit and healthy and not suffering from some (perhaps hidden or unstated) condition or disorder (there's an extensive list in the book) I would be extremely surprised, I have not been able to find anyone.”

“I believe that many of our problems stem from the simple fact that our internal body clocks have evolved to expect a 25 hour day (this has been proven by sleep researchers), but the Earth's day is only 24 hours."

"This is not a modern condition, the same factors can be traced all the way back through mankind's history on Earth.”

Silver does not suggest one answer, but a possibility that early pre-humans such as homo erectus were crossbred with another species. He also suggests several possible origins, including Alpha Centauri.

“Mankind is supposedly the most highly developed species on the planet, yet is surprisingly unsuited and ill-equipped for Earth's environment: harmed by sunlight, a strong dislike for naturally occurring (raw) foods, ridiculously high rates of chronic disease, and more."

Plus there's a prevailing feeling among many people that they don't belong here or that something "just isn't right".

“This suggests (to me at least) that mankind may have evolved on a different planet, and we may have been brought here as a highly developed species. One reason for this, discussed in the book, is that the Earth might be a prison planet, since we seem to be a naturally violent species, and we're here until we learn to behave ourselves.”

Ellis hopes that readers will contact him with more evidence for a more extensive follow-up work.

The claim that bacteria are arriving from space has also caused controversy, and revived the idea of “panspermia”, where life from Earth might have “pollinated” other planets nearby..

"There is probably truth to the report that they find curious stuff in the atmosphere," Chris McKay, an astrobiologist at NASA said.

"The jump to the conclusion that it is alien life is a big jump and would require quite extraordinary proof."

Professor Wainwright and his colleagues at the University of Sheffield aim to conduct further tests.

“In the absence of a mechanism by which large particles like these can be transported to the stratosphere, we can only conclude that the biological entities originated from space," Wainwright added.

"Our conclusion then is that life is continually arriving to Earth from space, life is not restricted to this planet and it almost certainly did not originate here."

Silver’s more radical idea is presented as polemic, intended to inspire argument..

“Initial reaction has been positive, although one reviewer thought it was a parody, while another found the writing style heavily dictatorial,” he admits.

The debate over the origin of life looks set to intensify. Simulations on supercomputers at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in the U.S. have found that amino acids, the building blocks of life, could have arrived on Earth via comets.

This would suggest that life might be found elsewhere in our solar system, or even beyond.

Nir Goldman suggests that the simple molecules found in comets (such as water, ammonia, and carbon dioxide) could have supplied the raw materials, and the impact with early Earth could have “ignited” a prebiotic reaction.

A series of experiments where projectiles were fired into a cometary ice mixtures formed amino acids - the building blocks of life.

"These results confirm our earlier predictions of impact synthesis of prebiotic material, where the impact itself can yield life-building compounds," Goldman said.

"These results present a significant step forward in our understanding of the origin of the building blocks of life. This increases the chances of life originating and being widespread throughout our solar system," Goldman said.

Silver wants to pose the question of whether humans arrived separately, “Recent scientific reports suggest that life itself might not be from Earth but might have arrived here on meteors or comets.

This primitive form of life then evolved over billions of years into what we find on Earth today.

“My thesis proposes that mankind did not evolve from that particular strain of life, but evolved elsewhere and was transported to Earth (as fully evolved Homo sapiens) between 60,000 and 200,000 years ago.”

America and Israel Created a Monster Computer Virus Which Now Threatens Nuclear Reactors Worldwide

In their obsession to stop Iran from developing nuclear weapons, the U.S. and Israel created a computer virus (called “Stuxnet”) to take out Iran’s nuclear reactors.

The virus appears to have spread to other countries.

One of the world’s top computer security experts – Eugene Kaspersky – said this week that the virus has attacked a Russian nuclear reactor. As The Register notes:



The infamous Stuxnet malware thought to have been developed by the US and Israel to disrupt Iran’s nuclear facilities, also managed to cause chaos at a Russian nuclear plant, according to Eugene Kaspersky.

The revelation came during a Q&A session after a speech at Australia’s National Press Club last week, in which he argued that those spooks responsible for “offensive technologies” don’t realise the unintended consequences of releasing malware into the wild.

“Everything you do is a boomerang,” he added. “It will get back to you.”

“Unfortunately, it’s very possible that other nations which are not in a conflict will be victims of cyber attacks on critical infrastructure,” said Kaspersky.

“It’s cyber space. [There are] no borders, [and many facilities share the] same systems.”

Not finished there, Kaspersky also claimed to have heard from “Russian space guys” in the know that even machines on the International Space Station had been infected “from time to time” after scientists arrived aboard with infected USBs.

Other security experts agree.

As British security website V3 – in an article entitled “Stuxnet: UK and US nuclear plants at risk as malware spreads outside Russia” – reports:



Experts from FireEye [background] and F-Secure [background] told V3 the nature of Stuxnet means it is likely many power plants have fallen victim to the malware ….

F-Secure security analyst Sean Sullivan told V3 Stuxnet’s unpredictable nature means it has likely spread to other facilities outside of the plant mentioned by Kaspersky.

“It didn’t spread via the internet. It spread outside of its target due to a bug and so it started traveling via USB. Given the community targeted, I would not be surprised if other countries had nuclear plants with infected PCs,” he said.

Director of security strategy at FireEye, Jason Steer, mirrored Sullivan’s sentiment, adding the insecure nature of most critical infrastructure systems would make them an ideal breeding ground for Stuxnet.

Steer added the atypical way Stuxnet spreads and behaves, means traditional defences are ill equipped to stop, or even accurately track the malware’s movements.

“It’s highly likely that other plants globally are infected and will continue to be infected as it’s in the wild and we will see on a weekly basis businesses trying to figure out how to secure the risk of infected USB flash drives,” he said.

The hidden reality of deep underground Military Bases

The U.S. Government alone classifies over 500 million pages of documents each year. As far as transparency goes, there is none. How can we know anything about what is happening on our planet if so much information is hidden from the public domain? By now, the classified world has moved far beyond the reach of the public, and far beyond in its power and capabilities with regards to technology, scientific and cosmological knowledge and more.(1).

“According to our best estimates, more than half of all U.S. government records are classified. For an archivist seeking to preserve and understand our history, that means most of our history is kept secret from us, think about that for a moment ” – Richard Dolan (4)

The United States has a history of government agencies existing in secret. The National Security Agency (NSA) was founded in 1952, its existence was hidden until the mid 1960′s. Even more secretive is the National Reconnaissance Office, which was founded in 1960 but remained completely concealed for 30 years.

Recent leaks from Edward Snowden, a former intelligence contractor, have shed light on the black budget world. This is a world full of Special Access Programs (SAP) that garnishes trillions of dollars every year to conduct operations the general public knows nothing about(2). These programs do not exist publicly, but they do indeed exist. They are better known as ‘deep black programs.’ A 1997 US Senate report described them as “so sensitive that they are exempt from standard reporting requirements to the Congress (3)(1)”. One aspect of these ‘deep black programs’ is the development of deep underground military bases, and they can go up to several miles underneath the surface.

There are also known underground facilities in existence. Take for example, the Swedish underground military facility at Musko. It’s a large naval base built underneath a mountain. The hospital alone within this facility holds over 1,000 beds. Musko engineers blasted out 1,500, 000 cubic meters of stone in order to build it (4)(5).

The military utility for underground construction is obvious. I recall years ago studying the matter in the context of American Cold War military strategy. during the 1950′s, motivated by a fear of Soviet missiles striking American installations and cities, military planners recognized the value of secure facilities deep underground (1) – Richard Dolan

In 1987 Deputy Director of Engineering and Construction for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Lloyd A. Duscha, gave a speech at an engineering conference entitled “Underground Facilities for Defense – Experience and Lessons.” In the first paragraph of his speech he states the following:

After World War II, political and economic factors changed the underground construction picture and caused a renewed interest to “think underground.” As a result of this interest, the Corps of Engineers became involved in the design and construction of some very complex and interesting military projects. Although the conference program indicates the topic to be “Underground Facilities for Defense – Experience and Lessons,” I must deviate a little because several of the most interesting facilities that have been designed and constructed by the Corps are classified. (4)(6)

He then went into a discussion of the Crops’ involvement in the 1960′s in the construction of the large and elaborate NORAD base buried deep beneath Cheyenne Mountain, in Colorado. This is just a public statement, but you will not find a more significant public admission of secret, underground bases than this one. People speaking is not the only evidence available, there are actual documents obtained by researchers through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) that shed more light on the subject, and clearly outline plans for the contraction of underground facilities(4).

There are documents available which expose a deep underground command center that was to be built far below area’s such as Washington, D.C. and China Lake, California during the Cold War. Documents available show that in 1964 the military was considering building a huge underground cavity 4,000 feet deep beneath China Lake (4). It’s well known that the United States and the Soviet Union created a vast infrastructure to support a complex of offensive and defensive weapons during the Cold War. This infrastructure included sites and facilities for developing, testing, storing and manufacturing weapons. There was also a host of communication and command centers(7).

The worlds most prominent researcher on Underground Military Facilities (in my opinion) Richard Sauder, Ph.D, told of an interesting story in his book Hidden In Plain Site (4) that I’d like to share with you.

“As it happens, after giving a public talk a couple of years ago, I was approached by a man who had been a uniformed member of the United States Navy. We chatted for a while and when he mentioned that he had spent some time at China Lake my ears perked up. I asked him if there was an underground facility at China Lake. He said that indeed there is, and that it is impressively large and deep. I asked him if he had ever been in it, and he said that he had, though not to the deepest levels. I asked him how deep the deepest part extended. He looked at me soberly and said very quietly, “It goes one mile deep.” I then asked him what the underground base contains. He replied, “Weapons.” I responded, “What sort of weaponry?” And he answered without pausing, “Weapons more powerful than nuclear weapons.” (4)

Deep Underground Command Center (DUCC)
The very first TOP SECRET memo on the subject was issued by Robert McNamara, on November 7th 1963 from the office of the Secretary of Defense. This took place right before the Kennedy murder (4).

There is a very grave danger that an announced need for increased secrecy will be seized upon by those anxious to expand its meaning to the very limits of official censorship and concealment. That I do not intend to permit, to the extent that it is in my control. We are opposed around the world by a system which has ocnscripted vast human and material resources into the building of a tightly knit, highly efficient machine that combines military, diplomatic, intelligence, economic, scientific and political operations. Its preparations are concealed, not published. Its dissenters are silenced, not praised. No expenditure is questioned, no rumor is printed, no secret is revealed (7).

In this memo McNamara discusses the topic of the National Underground Command Center. The memo was addressed to McGeorge Bundy, Kermit Gordon and Dr. Jerome Wiesner. Bundy was the special assistant for National Security Affairs of President Kennedy. Gordon was the Director of the Bureau of the Budget and Wiesner was Kennedy’s science adviser. McNamara stated that they would meet sometime during the end of November, unfortunately Kennedy was dead by then.

A Second memo was issued on the same day concerning a proposed Deep Underground National Command Center that would be approximately 3,500 feet underground Washington. (4) The memo also mentioned elevator shafts below the State Department and White House that would descend to 3,500 feet with high speed, horizontal tunnel transport to the main facility. Remember we are talking about the 1960′s, what type of technology would be available for them to complete a project like this?

The reality of Deep Underground Military Bases is extremely fascinating. There is an enormous amount of evidence that proves their existence. Secret military bases used to be labelled in the conspiracy theory category. Not long ago, the Department of Defense officially declassified the existence of Area 51. (8)
There are hundreds of military bases, and underground military bases spread all over the world. Dr Richard Sauder documents this phenomenon well in Hidden In Plain Sight, among his other works. What I’ve provided above is not even the tip of the ice berg. In his book he goes on to illustrate the technology behind such developments, under ocean bases, and more. This is a fascinating topic to explore, and the next question to ask is what goes on in underground military facilities?

We know that the military operates at these defense installations, and it’s safe to assume that a number of classified projects go in within them. One that seems to be a common occurrence that’s related to Deep Underground Military Facilities are UFOs and extraterrestrials.

Best selling British author and researcher, Timothy Good, has written several books dealing with the question of possible extraterrestrial interaction with Earth. Another one that comes to mind is historian and UFO researcher Richard Dolan. Both have hinted to having been privy to some very interesting information in some of their books.

In After Disclsoure, Dolan shares an experience he had with a politician who was deep underground in a military base.. He was briefed on the extraterrestrial reality and said that ET’s and UFOs are just the tip of the ice berg when it comes to information that’s concealed from the public.(1)

Timothy Good has been privy to information from a variety of sources, including private ones that discuss a variety of locations around the world for alleged undersea and underground extraterrestrial bases. Abductees and contactees constantly refer to deep underground installations within the Planet. Could the extraterrestrial phenomenon be directly related to Deep Underground Military Facilities?

I’ve had two personal encounters with Canadian Military Personnel. One of them was a Coast Guard veteran, he personally told me that if I would like to know about extraterrestrials, “come work for us and you can ask them yourself.” This is something I’ll remember for my entire life. The second one was bizarre, I encountered a senior Canadian Air Force officer, had a short conversation with him and brought up UFOs. He instantly turned around and started walking away from me. About an hour later, in a completely different location, he walked right by me and didn’t even look at me, accompanied by two men in suits.

I just wanted to get across that Deep Underground Military Facilities are not a conspiracy. What happens beneath our feet is garnishing trillions of dollars from the black budget for special projects that the majority of the human race knows nothing about.

GOCE satellite has re-entered Earth's atmosphere - Solar Kill Shot precursor?

There has been some talk that this satellite may relate to what Major Ed Dames and his team of remote viewers picked up in a series of events relating to the solar kill shot.

Going by memory, they observed a ship of some kind being forced down to earth because of a meteor shower. The leonide meteor shower is peaking on the 16th to 17th of this month, in a few days time.

But this is a satellite, not a ship. They did say however that the ship they observed was not familiar to them and this satellite is a very unique design from the images you can see in the article below.

ESA’s GOCE, 1100 kg heavy, satellite has re-entered Earth’s atmosphere. The spacecraft fell at approximately 00:16 UTC on November 11, 2013 over the South Atlantic Ocean east of Tierra del Fuego, off the southernmost tip of the South America. An estimated 25% of debris reached Earth’s surface, while most of the satellite disintegrated in the atmosphere

There have been no reports of damage to property or sightings of debris. GOCE re-entered over Siberia, continued over the Western Pacific Ocean, the eastern Indian Ocean, Antarctica and finally southernmost tip of South America.

According to Heiner Klinkrad, Head of ESA’s Space Debris Office, in the 56 years of spaceflight, some 15 000 tons of man-made space objects have re-entered the atmosphere without causing a single human injury to date.

GOCE has spent most of its mission at an altitude of 255 km (158 miles), but has recently been at the lowest altitude of any research satellite at 224 km (139 miles).

The $450 million satellite was launched in 2009 to study Earth's gravity field in unprecedented detail.

Scientist have used GOCE's data to create the first global high-resolution map of the boundary between Earth’s crust and mantle, known as the Moho.

Conspiracy Theorist: John Kerry Won’t Discuss JFK Assassination Beliefs

A recent poll conducted jointly between the Associated Press and public opinion research group GfK confirmed that here in the days leading up to the 50th anniversary of President John F. Kennedy’s assassination, more than half of all Americans still believe a conspiracy was involved.

Among them, Secretary of Defense John Kerry may be one of them… but if so, he’s not talking about it.

Early on Sunday, Kerry made an appearance with host David Gregory on NBC’s Meet the Press, during which Kerry was asked rather pointedly by Gregory about his apparent belief in a plot that went far beyond “the lone gunman” conclusion by the Warren Commission, which produced an 888-page document following their investigation of the assassination, and concluded that Lee Harvey Oswald had in fact acted alone.

Kerry’s response, though simple, nonetheless indicated his feelings on the matter. “I just have a point of view,” he said, “and I’m not going to get into that. It’s not something that I think needs to be commented on, and certainly not at this time.”

He went on to say that speaking about his personal feelings regarding the Kennedy assassination, and whether a plot had been orchestrated outside Lee Harvey Oswald’s involvement, would not be appropriate during a live television interview. “I’m not going to do more than say that it’s a point of view that I have, Kerry told Gregory. “But it’s not right, or worthy, or appropriate for me to comment further.”

According to the aforementioned AP/GfK poll, one out of every six Americans are of the opinion that there were several acting together, and perhaps within federal agencies or other entities, in a plot to kill Kennedy. Just under one quarter of those participating in the survey believed that Oswald acted alone.

While the conventional conspiracy theories remain, there are also new questions being asked, highlighted by the upcoming 50th anniversary of the assassination. In a new book written by New York Times reporter Philip Shenon, the author asks whether one of the “real” conspiracies might not have more to do with government agencies that had worked to cover mistakes they had made, such as a failure to assess any threat Oswald might have presented, despite continued government surveillance of his activities for months prior to Kennedy’s assassination:

Shenon, who spent five years researching his book, said his reporting uncovered that both the CIA and FBI had Oswald under surveillance for an extended period of time prior to Kennedy’s murder.

“The question becomes, ‘Why didn’t they act on that information?’” Shenon said.

Yet Shenon’s book is most concerned with the destruction of evidence by U.S. officials, who after the assassination destroyed items including: a letter Oswald left for the FBI, Kennedy’s original autopsy report, and photographs of a trip Oswald took to Mexico, where Shenon said he met with Cuban and Russian spies. Shenon suggests that because of the FBI and CIA’s decision to ignore Oswald in Dallas, the agencies were forced to cover up their mistakes.

It seems nearly impossible to rule out some level of secrecy or other information withheld from the public with regard to the Kennedy assassination, and the operations of official organizations investigating aspects of the shooting. Perhaps John Kerry is one of the many who sees these same potentials for truths being kept from the public… though publicly he would rather play it safe, apparently. But is having such beliefs justifiable for a prominent American politician, given the evidence as it stands, along with the widespread public sentiment toward the likelihood of a conspiracy?

An emerging threat: Greater manipulation of food on an atomic scale

For many years there have been concern about chemicals added to foods to enhance color, flavor, and shelf life. There has also been concern over the use of genetic modifications to crops and to increase yields and disease resistance. But there is a less heard of, multi-billion dollar industry which is gaining an ever increasing foothold in the market and in the imaginations of the corporate, profit-obsessed food industry.

Nanotechnology is the manipulation of materials on a scale of less than 100 nanometres (nm). To put that into perspective a human hair is 80,000nm across. These technologies are able to change materials on an atomic level, allowing the scientists to create materials and devices that have never been possible before. According to industry experts, the foods of the future will be able to be wrapped in smart packaging that can detect spoilage and release chemical agents to prevent further spoilage. The nanoparticles can be designed to allow tracking of food from farm to plate, and some particles will be able to tailor food to have the properties and nutrients that the marketing companies wish to sell. This means that there could be junk food made with nanotechnology that will be able to claim that it cleans your arteries when you eat it.

Billions invested in new research

The main areas of nanotechnology research at the moment are the modification of seeds and fertilizers, fortification of foods, smart foods, smart packaging and food tracking. It is estimated that over $30 billion have been invested in research so far.

Modification of seeds at this level goes beyond what is possible with genetic engineering where genes are transferred from crop to crop. Nanotechnology allows atoms to be changed within the structures of materials to facilitate the exact outcomes that the manufacturer wants. Bigger corn, disease resistant potatoes, even a tomato that tastes like an apple are all feasible if there is a market for the creation of it. Modification of fertilizers means that the fertilizer can be tailored to the crop in ways that Monsanto have only previously dreamed of. The fertilizer or pesticide could protect their own brand of crop but destroy other crops; this would be in addition to the already devastating effects of GM crops on the plant-life that exists nearby.

Fortification of foods means that particles can be engineered into foods that will release chemical agents into the consumer. This could be nutrients, vitamins, minerals or pharmaceuticals.

Smart foods and smart packaging would allow the manufacturer to engineer an eating experience based on what the nanoparticles detect. For example, if the nanoparticles detect that the consumer has high sodium levels, then higher levels of salt can be released so that the food tastes more in line with what the consumer is accustomed to. Also the food can contain tracking particles that receive or emit radio signals which would allow data on what foods the consumer eats to be beamed to the TV in your living room which would then tailor the adverts to the consumer.

The possibilities of nanotechnology do not end with these areas of research. However, the possible environmental and human pollution via the food chain is a concern to all who know that a natural diet of organic food is the only thing that we should eat as a species. The potential for harm to be caused by meddling with the food chain is already being realized in areas which have seen the introduction of GM crops and the associated pesticides.

Ascension Rising and Star Knowledge Conference

I am sitting at the Palm Springs airport after of course opting out of the dna scatter machine. The Ascension Rising Conference in Sedona and the Star Knowledge Conference in Palm Springs both went extremely well despite some major challenges, the usual disrupters, monarchs and handlers. The talks and workshops went extremely well with incredible downloads, initiations and information coming in. The benevolent Annunaki, Andromedans, Sirians, Pleiadians and other masters all made their presence known in an undeniable way even for many who were not sensitive. Some walked out of the workshops like a deer in the headlights. There was a lot of clean up in Sedona with regenerate E Ts Palm Springs as well. At night it was like an old black and white movie with beings coming nonstop for clearing with discarnate spirits, a few black sorcerers and remote viewers peeking in. Luckily I had lots of help seen and unseen. Joseph, Ashli and Nathan the lion hearted were there, he actually looks like a lion, to hold the light and anchor in the higher consciousness and energy. I also had help from Michelle and company who took a lot of the load off at Giant Rock by going there earlier and releasing the local native americans on their journey to the light.

The last time I went to Giant Rock for the Contact in the Desert conference I saw the adjacent hills covered with spirits. They were the ancestors which gathered there in great numbers in the past. Many were in need of healing. I knew I had to return be complete in my work. When I arrived the mountains were clear just a few stragglers which we called upon White Eagle and Buffalo Calf woman to assist. We also generated a vortex for others with assistance from the Andromedans and Inner Earth Folks both of which allowed us to see their ships. An amazing picture was taken which we will share later of the group phasing out becoming transparent with light badges etc. It is amazing. When coming down the trail very close to where we were a stack of crystals was there after the ceremony. There is no way we could of missed it coming up. I little gift left there so show us they were with us. The vortex remained with dark purple and violet energies. It is charging the crystalline grid creating a new timeline.

We also saw ginormous flashes of light, large lights moving up and down across the desert and a few bombs in the far off distant bombing range. The moving lights that morphed and flashes were not tied into the bombing range. It was tied into the Andromedan and Inner Earth ships. One good thing is I sold all my stock, books, dvds, etc. and did not have to lug anything back. Lots of seeds were planted. We never know the effects of our work later and I hope the information kick starts some and validates others. All in all it was an amazing journey with lots of tests and initiations. Cant wait to get back to the ranch, sort it all out and recalibrate. We engaged some 9th dimensional beings on this journey and in doing so you never come back the same. Houston anthropologist, Dr. Semir Osmanagich, founder of the Bosnian Archaeology Park, the most active archaeology site in the world, declares that irrefutable scientific evidence exists of ancient civilizations with advanced technology that leaves us no choice but to change our recorded history. An examination of the age of structures across the earth reveals conclusively that they were built by advanced civilizations from over 29,000 years ago.

“Acknowledging that we are witness to fundamental proof of advanced civilizations dating back over 29,000 years and an examination of their societal structures forces the World to reconsider its understanding of the development of civilization and history,” explains Dr. Semir Osmanagich.“Conclusive data at the Bosnian Pyramid site revealed in 2008 and confirmed this year by several independent labs who conducted radio carbon testing dates the site at 29,400 +/-400 years minimum.”

The radiocarbon dating tests of 29,200 years +/- 400 years was done by Radiocarbon Lab from Kiew, Ukraine, on organic material found at the Bosnian Pyramid site. Physicist Dr. Anna Pazdur of Poland’s Silesian University first announced the news at a Press Conference in Sarajevo in August of 2008. Professor of Classical Archaeology from the University of Alexandria Dr. Mona Haggag called this discovery “writing new pages in European and World history.” The C14 date of 29,000 years at the Bosnian Archaeological Park was obtained from a piece of organic material retrieved from a clay layer inside the outer casing to the pyramid. It follows a sample date obtained during the 2012 dig season on material located above the concrete at 24,800 years, meaning this structure has a construction profile stretching back almost 30,000 years.
“The ancient people who built these pyramids knew the secrets of frequency and energy. They used these natural resources to develop technologies and undertake construction on scales we have never witnessed on earth,” said Dr. Osmanagich. Evidence clearly shows that the pyramids were built as ancient energy machines aligned with the earth’s energy grid, providing energy for healing as well as power.
Ancient historians in the US have news just as astonishing as anything found in the far corners of the globe. For instance, the Rockwall discovery outside of Dallas, Texas, is only one example of how we are now re-examining ancient mysteries to reveal more about our past, right in the United States. H2 (History 2) popular series Unearthing Ancient America recently filmed an episode about the Rockwall that will air later this year. The Texas site is a complex and massive wall ten miles in diameter built over 20,000 years ago and covered by soil seven stories below the ground. The question is by whom was this structure built and for what purpose and, most importantly, how can knowledge left by these past civilizations help shape our future?
Newly-revealed or rediscovered traces of ancient civilizations have ignited an innate curiosity about human origins as reflected by recent coverage in mainstream media and TV. The November 2013 issue of National Geographic: 100 Greatest Mysteries Revealed-Ancient Civilizations Unearthed says,

“Sometimes cultures leave behind mysteries that baffle those who come after them, from standing stones to coded manuscripts, indications that ancient people indeed had a profound purpose.”

Forward-thinking scientists continue to pursue knowledge from our past that is useful to determine a better future. Renowned author Michal Cremo in his book Forbidden Archeology theorizes that knowledge of advanced Homo-sapiens has been suppressed or ignored by the scientific establishment because it contradicts the current views of human origins that don’t agree with the dominant paradigm. Cremo’s body of work has been described as “a useful teaching resource, raising a wide range of issues covering aspects of knowledge transfer, sure to be provocative in the classroom.” It has been reviewed with widespread appraisal by hundreds of academic journals.

Gobekli Tepe in Eastern Turkey

Results clearly indicate that similar advanced civilizations of humans were present all across the globe at that time in history. For example,Gobekli Tepe located in Eastern Turkey, is a vast complex of enormous megalithic stone circles with a radius of between 10 and 20 meters, much larger than the well-known Stonehenge in Great Britain. Excavations at Gobekli Tepe that began there in 1995 revealed radio carbon dating at least 11,600 years. German archaeologist Dr. Klaus Schmidt from the German Archaeological Institute, Berlin, Germany, with the support of ArchaeoNova Institute from Heidelberg, Germany, has led the excavation of these recently-discovered pre-historic megalithic circles at the Turkey location.
“Gobekli Tepe is one of the most fascinating Neolithic locations in the world,” Dr. Klaus Schmidt claims. But as he explains in a recent report, to understand the new finds, archaeologists need to work closely with specialists in comparative religion, architectural and art theory, cognitive and evolutionary psychology, sociologists using social network theory, and others.

“It is the complex story of the earliest, large settled communities, their extensive networking, and their communal understanding of their world, perhaps even the first organized religions and their symbolic representations of the cosmos,” as reported by Klaus Schmidt.

In addition to the megalithic structures, figures and carvings have been discovered, depicting animals of pre historic nature such as dinosaurs and other wild life. Since excavations started in 1995, four of the circles have been partially cleaned, but it is thought that there are a total of up to 50 circles hidden underground. These vast monoliths, soaring seven meters in height and 25 tons in mass at Gobekli Tepe, are situated right in the heart of what we perceive as the origin of civilization. This find offers new guidance to the true history of earth and our ancient civilizations.
“Our archaeological research goal is not to simply uncover all of the megalithic circles but to try to figure out their purpose,” adds Schmidt.

Bosnian Pyramid Now in Eighth Year: Proof of Advanced Civilizations from over 30,000 years ago

The Bosnian Valley of the Pyramids now in the eighth year of excavation spans six square kilometers in the Visoko River Basin 40km northwest of Sarajevo. Comprised of four ancient pyramids almost three times the size of Giza and an extensive subterranean pyramid tunnel complex, new discoveries each year continue to reveal proof of a much different history of mankind on earth. The central pyramid of the Sun rises a colossal 420 meters in to the air and has a mass of millions of tons. By comparison the Great pyramid of Cheops (Khufu) in the Giza plateau is 146 meters high, making the Bosnian Pyramids the largest and oldest known pyramids on the planet. Since research began at the Bosnian site, Dr. Osmanagich has amazed the scientific and archaeological community by gathering a team of interdisciplinary engineers, physicists and researchers from around the world to conduct open and transparent investigation of the site to try and discover the true nature and purpose of this pyramidal complex.

“This is an unknown culture presenting highly-advanced arts and sciences, technology capable of forming truly massive structures and we believe in that process demonstrating an ability to harness pure energy resources,” comments Tim Moon, who has recently joined Osmanagich as lead archeologist at the Bosnian site.

The archaeological project delivered another significant finding this year in the pyramid tunnel complex known as Ravine. Tunneling deep into a ridge line leading toward the Pyramid of the Sun the team has unearthed several megalith stones. In August an enormous stone estimated at 25,000 kgs was uncovered approximately 400 meters into the labyrinth. “This is a hugely significant find,” comments Moon.“Here we have a massive stone, possibly a constructed ceramic, buried under hundreds of thousands of tons of material. We are locating foundation walls around its perimeter and cut stone blocks.” Large quantities of artifacts have been recovered from the associated tunnels leading to the site, including effigies painted on stone, art objects and a series of hieroglyphics or ancient texts carved into the tunnel walls.
Dr. Osmangich stresses that it is time for open sharing of knowledge so we can understand and learn from our past.

“It is time for us to open our minds to the true nature of our origin and destruction of each other as a civilization on this planet. Our mission here is to realign science with spirituality in order to progress as a species, and this demands a clear path of shared knowledge.”

Visitors are welcome to the Bosnian Valley of the Pyramids and its Foundation offers a volunteer program each dig season, running June to September.

In a nutshell, what is the alien agenda?

Mankind is being enslaved by non-human forces who are technologically, psychically, and dimensionally superior to us. They consist of multiple factions, spanning multiple dimensions and locations in space-time, all here to take a slice of the human pie. Their ultimate goal is to assimilate us and exploit us for our biological, etheric, and physical resources.

Through covert manipulation and hyperdimensional tricks that utilize time travel, they have secretly manipulated and exploited humanity in every way conceivable for tens of thousands of years. We are now seeing their plans overtly manifest with the abduction and hybrid breeding program, and their imminent portrayal as saviors to a human race gone mad with world conflict.

If the world accepts them as saviors, individual freedom as we know it will become snuffed like a blown candle, leaving only darkness.

Given their technological superiority, why don't hostile alien forces just take over the planet?

For strategic reasons, their invasion is a drawn out process rather than a single spectacular blitzkrieg as one might expect, though the latter can be used to finalize the invasion once the first phase has spiritually tranquilized the target population.

There are many problems with an overt invasion using physical force. History has shown that visible tyrants are also visible targets who quickly fall if they reveal themselves before total control has been established. Smarter tyrants stay hidden and cleverly manipulate the population into first defeating and enslaving itself.

Cosmic tyrants exist who seek to assimilate entire worlds into their empire.

The premature invasion of those who have targeted us could lead to conflicts threatening the two resources they have come here to exploit: earth and its inhabitants. They prefer that we willingly hand over ourselves and the planet with the least amount of resistance. This can only happen under the condition that we are unaware of their true nature or agenda. Preparing such deception requires much groundwork. Thus, they have chosen to covertly and patiently manipulate human society toward that end.

Their preferred method of subversion is to create elite among the population who do the dirty work of enslaving the rest. What we know as the "secret government" is an occult technocracy comprised of these elite humans.

The secret government is using problem-reaction-solution techniques to frame world conflicts as pretexts for the establishment of a "New World Order," an overt global totalitarian regime that will lockdown any potential for resistance and secure earth for easy assimilation into the alien empire.
