"A guy that I used to work with from Winston-Salem told me the story of he and some friends riding dirt bikes 20 miles or so out in the woods when they came upon a strange “crater” in the ground with smooth sides like melted glass. It was a “pond” in the sense that there was some rainwater in it I guess.There were no access roads or caterpillar tracks so it wasn’t a construction site. The boys went back to town and told some friends. A couple other guys went there shortly thereafter and they saw it too. The weird depression was gone within a few days, as if it was never there.
Now this is weird! ….supposedly someone took some photos, but never gave them to any news people, reporters, etc. The story became quite a local legend. I’m surprised it’s not really famous. Maybe because the “mystery circle” was there and gone so quickly?

Againnn, snow this past weekend for us New Englanders. Today a frigid morning with the wind chill -10 to -35. Snow againnn tomorrow. My shovel shoulder screeches, “Even weight lifters take time off for muscle repair.”

I posted a couple of days ago that I woke up to the sound of a snow plow. In the twenty-one years I’ve lived here they’ve never hired a service. That’s how much snow we’ve had. And yesterday he was back again.

We’ve gotten pounded in years past but what makes this year different is it’s non-stop nature. I would not be exaggerating when I say we've gotten hit with 2-3 storms a week for at least the last month.

Grrrrr & Brrrrr. :cool:

George Knapp was joined by crime reporter George Anastasia, who detailed his extensive research into the notorious Gotti family of organized crime lore. He observed that the Gotti family and their penchant for garnering media attention was a stark contrast to the traditional mafia principle of "make money, don't make headlines." To that end, he revealed how John Gotti Senior purposely cultivated the image of a mafia boss with his expensive wardrobe, but that he actually had no fashion sense and had to rely on an underling named "Fat Bob" to help him dress the part. While Anastasia credited Gotti Sr. for being able to consolidate his power and navigate the politics of organized crime, he described Gotti's son and successor as someone who inherited the position due to the family name rather than any particular leadership skills.

Over the course of his appearance, Anastasia recalled how he gained unprecedented insight into the Gotti family via a man named John Alite, who had been one of their closest associates. Initially a small time drug dealer, Alite realized he could make more money by working with the Gotti family, so he slowly insinuated himself into their organization over time. After an attempted shooting went awry due to the incompetence of Gotti Jr. and his cohorts, Alite began to grow weary of working with them. He also started to realize that he was being positioned as the fall guy for Gotti Jr.'s missteps and, ultimately, had to flee the country after being named as the target of a hit. Following a whirlwind trip around the globe, Alite would eventually decide to testify against the Gotti family and tell his story of working with the organization.

Anastasia expressed hope that his work can help "deconstruct the myths" surrounding the American mafia which has become increasingly glorified in movies and television programs. Despite how organized crime is portrayed in the media, Anastasia declared that "it's not men of honor and loyalty, it's more treachery and deceit." To that end, he noted that one longstanding misconception surrounding the mafia is that they avoided getting involved in the drug trade due to a moral stance. Anastasia contended that the real reason for their reticence was that drug trafficking involved dealing with too many unstable characters and could also draw the attention of a more ardent arm of law enforcement. Those factors, he said, made drug dealing a less desirable enterprise compared to the easy money that could be garnered through gambling rings and serving as loan sharks.

Bobby Fuller Death

"In the first hour, Miriam Linna, author and founder of Norton Records, discussed the mystery surrounding the death of musician Bobby Fuller who, at the age of 23, had a Top 10 hit with I Fought the Law and was found dead in a car doused in gasoline outside his Hollywood apartment. "There's no way that a suicide could occur the way the body was found," she said, dismissing the official police conclusion on how Fuller died and pointing out a number of anomalies surrounding his death. However, she was also skeptical that Fuller was intentionally murdered and theorized that he had inadvertently died due to injuries from being beaten. Additionally, Linna attributed the shoddy investigation into Fuller's death to the passing of the Los Angeles police chief which happened two days earlier and subsequently threw the entire department into chaos" ...

"Tim R. Swartz, the writer and editor of the online Conspiracy Journal, which offers a free, weekly e-mail newsletter, discussed his latest work on America's strange and supernatural history including prophecies made by US presidents. There have been many strange stories of objects that fell from the sky, and one of the oddest occurred in Kentucky in 1876, when meat, described as "flesh in fine particles and strips," landed in a yard area when the sky was relatively clear. Swartz shared several accounts of spontaneous human combustion (SHC) that he investigated including cases where smoke started rolling out of a man's shirt even though he wasn't smoking, and a blue flame that inexplicably emerged from a man's stomach area. In some incidents of SHC, ball lightning might be connected, he postulated.

Regarding unusual cryptids, Swartz presented reports of "screaming kangaroos" from the 19th century in such states as Tennessee and Kentucky, in which these bloodthirsty creatures would devastate livestock. "The descriptions," he noted, "sounded eerily like the chupacabras from Puerto Rico." Swartz also detailed his personal investigations into the paranormal, including visiting a family that was plagued by poltergeist activity in Springfield, Ohio. He observed small rocks gathered on the ceiling, which then dropped down onto the floor. Swartz marked an X on some of the stones, and then tossed them in the cornfield behind the house, but moments later they reappeared on the ceiling and fell to the floor.

George Washington was said to be visited by a female angelic entity, who appeared to him one evening during the Revolutionary War. She left behind a vapor, and when it cleared, he could see all the countries of the world, including the United States, indicating they would be victorious in their fight to become a country. He saw the smoke of war billowing out from Asia, Europe, and Africa, and the angel took water from the Atlantic ocean, and sprinkled it on America, saying the new country would be the savior of these future wars, Swartz recounted. He also discussed the work of Tesla, discoveries made by Admiral Byrd at the North Pole, and time travel."

Podesta's Disclosure Comments

First hour guest, disclosure activist Stephen Bassett talked about recent comments made by White House advisor John Podesta regarding UFO files. Podesta, who is leaving the White House, posted on Twitter: "Finally, my biggest failure of 2014: Once again not securing the #disclosure of the UFO files." The tweet has generated hundreds of news stories, and implies that he made attempts this past year to move forward on disclosure while working for the Obama administration, Bassett remarked."

"In the first half of the show, Wes Germer shared the life-changing experience that he and his brother had when they were surrounded by a family of what they believe were Bigfoot/Sasquatch in November of 2012. The two were parked near a game trail late one night in Washington state when they heard eerie growling sounds and observed something moving toward the car. Then, they saw something moving in a tree, not unlike a monkey. Finally, they saw a huge creature step out into the road, about 60 ft. away. "It was the biggest thing I've ever seen-- it wasn't a man, it wasn't a bear"-- it stood about 10 ft. tall and must have weighed around 1,000 lbs., he marveled.

Germer surmised that it was some type of primate creature-- it walked with bent knees, had a head smaller in proportion to its body, and its arms hung down almost to its knees. It had a menacing quality, and was accompanied by a smaller, lighter-colored creature that jumped off a small ridge top. The riveting incident changed him from a total skeptic into a Bigfoot researcher and investigator. One of the cases he subsequently looked into involved a man named Bob Garrett who filmed a torn-up camp in Texas, where it appeared like bodies had been dragged off. Germer noted that there are regional differences in Sasquatch, with four different main types."

"In the latter half, occultist, ceremonial magician, and UFO researcher, Allen Greenfield, who has twice been the recipient of the "UFOlogist of the Year Award" from the National UFO Conference, discussed the connections between the occult world, angels, and UFO phenomena. Skilled at reading Tarot cards and seeing auras, Greenfield talked about working as a 'master psychic' for the telephone-based Psychic Friends Network for five years. It was a legitimate service that tested the psychic abilities of readers before they hired them, he noted. The occult can be directed toward positive purposes such as developing consciousness and healing, he added.

Greenfield has delved into the complex school of occultism called Enochian Magick, and helped to simplify it in his recent works. Some of the associated spells or incantations can open portals to "otherware" or other dimensions, he explained. His first book, The Secret Cipher of Ufonauts, explored the esoteric and occult codes connected with vintage UFO cases. One of the most fascinating UFO cases concerned a man named John Reeves in Brooksville, Florida, who described a series of encounters with "space people" between 1965 and 1971, said Greenfield, who also detailed his investigations into the anomalous Brown Mountain Lights in North Carolina."

"Renowned Marilyn Monroe expert Jay Margolis and New York Times best-selling author Richard Buskin discussed the untimely deaths under suspicious circumstances of some of the world's most iconic women-- Marilyn Monroe, Princess Diana, and Whitney Houston. The authors concluded that Marilyn was murdered-- just two days before she'd threatened to hold a press conference revealing what was in her diary, including details of her affairs with JFK and Robert Kennedy, and revelations about the Mafia and Fidel Castro. Witnesses saw RFK and two LAPD gangster squad members enter Monroe's house the night before her body was found, Margolis reported, adding that they went there to get her diary.

Trying to quiet Marilyn's screams, which neighbors reportedly heard, Bobby put a pillow over her head, while the police officers gave her nembutol injections, in order to calm her down. "When that didn't effectively subdue her, they gave her a drug-laced enema full of 13-19 nembutols and 17 chloral hydrates," which knocked her out, and accounted for the purplish color of her colon in the autopsy, said Margolis. The next day when ambulance attendants seemed to be successfully reviving her with a resuscitator, her psychiatrist Ralph Greenson suddenly arrived and gave her a syringe with a brownish fluid, Margolis continued. Peter Lawford who was on the scene, revealed in 1983, that Bobby Kennedy had told Greenson that 'Marilyn has got to be silenced.'

Princess Diana's death was also a murder, and subsequently covered up, the authors contended. Diana's driver Henri Paul was actually sober, and his blood report was mysteriously switched out with someone who committed suicide that day, Margolis suggested. It was claimed that the tunnel cameras where the accident occurred weren't working that day, "but that can't be true because another driver later received a speeding ticket which was caught on camera in that very same tunnel only minutes before Diana's car crashed," Buskin detailed. There were also mysterious circumstances concerning Whitney Houston's death, including her bathwater being scorching hot, and bruise marks and defensive wounds on her body, Buskin noted."

First hour guest, Paul Elio of Elio Motors talked about his development of a low-cost, high mileage, three-wheeled vehicle. The premise behind the 'Elio,' which is only half the width of a normal car, is that most households have need for just a single or two-person vehicle. Running on regular gas, this new category of vehicle will get 84 mpg, run at normal speeds, and list for $6800. With orders so far for 40,000 cars, they are targeting a release date during the first half of 2016."

My elf friend use to let me carry him around in my pocket when I was eleven.

There was a place on the property that my siblings and I named, “Fairyland”. It was marshy with streams that meandered and broke off into smaller streams. The land was full of fiddlehead ferns and purple and white violets, skunk cabbage, lady slippers and thorns. It covered at least a couple of acres. We lined the trails that lead up to our secret place with fallen white birch trees. I only saw the fairies and elves out of the corner of my eye, and there was an inner knowing. I’d get that tickle in the belly and hear whispers and giggles.

In another place on the property there was a thick sycamore grove where we’d hide from one another. I never had reason to wonder how but my elf and fairy friends helped me “float” while on all fours. It was a rush like no other. I giggled and rolled and floated with lightening speed. As strange as this sounds, I believed I turned invisible. It was a secret that I didn’t know not to share. It just never crossed my mind too.

They’re back in my life. I send hello thoughts to acknowledge their presence. They still send giggles, whispers and make rustling sounds from grasses and bushes.

In an unrelated story, several years back, the kids and adults went for an early evening walk. I caught my nephew who was six or seven give a wave towards a row of forsythia bushes. His face said it all. He checked to see if anyone saw what he saw. I leaned over and whispered, “You see them, too?” He shook his head and grinned.

Born in 1948, Jim Nichols spent the first twenty years of his life growing up in Ohio where, by his senior year of high school, Jim discovered he possessed an innate ambition to become an artist.
To pursue this interest, Jim enrolled for a Bachelor of Fine Arts program at Bowling Green State University in 1967, but unfortunately this schooling was interrupted in 1969 by the military draft. Jim resettled in Tucson, Arizona in 1972, where he resumed his interest in art and made something of a name for himself over the next eight years painting southwestern landscapes.
In 1980, his association with a world renowned UFO researcher, Lt. Col. Wendelle Stevens (Ret.), inspired Jim to launch into serious UFO illustrations, producing an extraordinary body of work that has since been published internationally in magazines, articles, books and the internet. His art was routinely featured on “The History Channel’s “UFO Hunters”. As well, the notoriety he gained as a UFO artist earned him a co-host seat on a weekly, Tucson Public Access Television program entitled, "UFOAZ Talks". This popular award winning program ran from 1991 through 1997, and was aired across the country.

After more than thirty years of UFO research, Jim has become a prolific writer, posting 14 BLOG essays on his web site, examining the political and social impact of a possible extra-terrestrial reality. More recently Jim has devoted his creativity to producing numerous video documentaries based on his blog essays. "NASA’s Terra satellite captured an image of the snow-covered eastern U.S. that looks like the states have been sitting in a freezer. In addition to the snow cover, Arctic and Siberian air masses have settled in over the Eastern U.S. triggering many record low temperatures in many states.

On Feb. 19 at 16:40 UTC (11:40 a.m. EST), the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) instrument that flies aboard NASA’s Terra satellite captured a picture of the snowy landscape. The snow cover combined with the frosty air mass made the eastern U.S. feel like the inside of freezer. The MODIS image was created at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland.

On the morning of Feb. 20, NOAA’s Weather Prediction Center (WPC) noted, “There were widespread subzero overnight lows Thursday night (Feb. 19) extending from Illinois to western Virginia, and numerous record lows were set. Bitterly-cold arctic air is setting numerous temperature records across the eastern U.S. and will keep temperatures well below normal on Friday (Feb. 20).”

In Baltimore, Maryland, a low temperature of 1F broke the record low for coldest morning recorded at the Thurgood Marshall Baltimore Washington-International Airport.

In Louisville, Kentucky, temperatures dropped to -6F, breaking the old record low of 0F, according to meteorologist Brian Goode of WAVE-TV. Meanwhile, Richmond Kentucky bottomed out at a frigid -32F.

In North Carolina, a record low temperature was set at Charlotte where the overnight temperature bottomed out at 7F breaking the old record of 13F in 1896. In Asheville, temperatures dropped to just 4F breaking the old record of 10F in 1979. Temperature records for Asheville extend back to 1876.

Several records were also broken in Georgia, according to Matt Daniel, a meteorologist at WMAZ-TV, Macon Georgia, who cited data from the National Weather Service. Daniel said that Macon set a new record low when the temperature dropped to 18F, beating the previous record of 21F set in 1958. Athens broke a new record low, too dropping to 14F and beating the old record of 18F set in 1958/1928.

NOAA’s NPC noted that “Highs on Friday (Feb. 20) will struggle to get out of the teens from the Ohio Valley to the Mid-Atlantic region. After Friday, temperatures are forecast to moderate and get closer to February averages as a storm system approaches from the west.”

"Over two decades ago, eminent scientist Jacques Vallee wrote a provocative book about UFO cases, folklore, and certain unexplained phenomena. He joined George Knapp in the first half to discuss that original groundbreaking work Passport to Magonia, which changed our understanding of the UFO phenomenon by connecting documents and data from earlier centuries that related to incidents in the modern era. Among the numerous parallels between UFOs, folklore, and religious traditions were tales of fairies, elves, leprechauns, apparitions, and strange creatures.

In Celtic regions, witnesses described seeing fairies who were accompanied by strange oval objects from the sky, and these beings were also known for abducting people-- not unlike modern reports of alien abduction, he pointed out. A ninth century account from the Archbishop of Lyon, France dealt with three people who were said to emerge from a flying ship-- villagers thought they came from a magical land called Magonia that was beyond the clouds. Vallee spoke of how UFO phenomena seems to straddle different layers of reality, and what witnesses actually observe may be modulated by their individual consciousness. People in Asia view the phenomenon as part of nature, and the alien beings hailing from a different plane, rather than another planet, he added."

"In the latter half, Ray Stanford, who has been investigating the Socorro UFO landing for over 50 years, shared not only the details he presented in his seminal 1970s book Socorro 'Saucer' in a Pentagon Pantry, but further evidence in the case. The incident took place in April 1964, when Lonnie Zamora, a New Mexico policeman, heard a loud roar and saw a descending object in the sky in flames. In his patrol car, he tracked the craft to where it had landed in a ravine on the outskirts of Socorro, and saw two small beings beside it. The beings were the size of children, and dressed in something like white coveralls, Zamora reported. Several other witnesses described seeing an object in the sky, and landing traces and soil were subsequently tested.

Stanford made numerous trips to Socorro, to examine the scene and interview Zamora and other witnesses. He found Zamora to be highly credible in his accounts, and famed ufologist J. Allen Hynek also came to town to investigate. Directly after the incident other patrolmen arrived on the scene, including one who took photos-- he was asked to turn over the images to the government, and some of the photos reportedly showed the effects of radiation, Stanford detailed. Zamora made a drawing of the red insignia he saw on the side of the craft, yet the military ended up changing the look of the drawing to deliberately obfuscate the public, in order to determine if future sightings might be copycat hoaxes, Stanford explained. He further revealed that he has acquired an actual photo of the craft, which he's hoping to use for publication in an updated book on the Socorro incident."

For all the freaking out we do about the ​secrecy of the dark web (sites most often accessed ​with a tool called Tor), anyone with reasonable Google skills and enough motivation could, if he or she wanted to, find at least a handful of hidden service websites. So is the dark web actually all that hidden? Maybe not—and one researcher is in the process of making a map of the dark web, pulled from the normal internet.

The vast majority of hidden service websites (that is, the ones you need Tor to get to) have to walk a fine line. They want to remain somewhat hidden, but not so hidden that no one can actually find them. Therefore, there is evidence of how to find deep web sites littered all over the public, or "clear" internet.

Staffan Truvé, CEO of Recorded Future, a Sweden-based cyber threat research company, has tracked down where users talk about the dark web and direct each other to specific hidden sites in an attempt to visualize what it looks like. In fact, the company is persistently monitoring many parts of the dark web.

"Some people are over mystifying the dark web. It's not that magical. There's no sharp dividing line between the normal internet and the dark web," Truvé told me. "On sites like Pastebin, you can find lots of pointers to the darker sides of the web."

"We capture everything that's posted on paste sites"
Recorded Future scrapes everything posted on Pastebin and other "paste" sites, which are sites where plaintext can be posted anonymously. Pastebin is a popular place to find torrents, hacking data dumps, and, back in December, was the site where links to the leaked files from the ​Sony hacks ended up. It's also a fantastic place to find links to dark web sites. The company also monitors Twitter and forums all around the normal internet for links to the dark web.


Last week, Truvé gave a presentation on Recorded Future's work called “ ​Visualizing the Underbelly of the Internet,” in which he said the dark web is necessarily not all that secretive.

"If you're in this business to sell something, well, you need to advertise it somewhere," he said. "There are really a lot of shades of gray as to what I'd say is a dark web site. There's really obscure things on what we would consider 'normal' websites. I think the borderline is hacker forums and sites like Pastebin."

Many parts of the dark web aren't hard to find or visualize, but they are volatile. Truvé says that 10 percent of dark web sites posted on Pastebin are deleted within 48 hours. He says that the majority of those deleted sites point to illegal services on the dark web, which get used up, presumably by criminals, then deleted very quickly.

"We capture everything that's posted on paste sites, and then we go back in and check if the links are still active," he said.

By persistently monitoring it, he says the company can tell what the dark web is talking about.

"We analyze all the contents and do standard linguistic analysis to try to determine what's popular on the dark web," he said. "Really, this is very similar to Google trends. We can tell what people are querying for."

Mapping out the dark web doesn't necessarily make it any easier to crack down on what's there, which is a noted goal of the FBI and other law enforcement agencies. And Truvé's service isn't capturing the sites that aren't advertised anywhere on the normal internet.

He says it's hard to know how many sites he's missing out on.

"It kind of goes back to Donald Rumsfeld's 'unknown unknowns,'" he said. "There's not really a good way to quantify it. We see the rest as being a law enforcement thing. We try to do a quantified analysis of the dark web, as best as we can."

And, as for the encrypted parts of the dark web?

"We just ignore that content," he said. "We don't do code breaking."

So, yes, many parts of the dark web aren't all that secret—but there's still a bit of mystique left.​

He has detected thousands of square miles of hatch patterns of vapor laid into the sky over the Pacific Ocean. Regarding the Hollow Earth theory, he suggested there is evidence that the Earth at one time was much smaller in its diameter, and during its subsequent expansion, it would have to leave voids behind.

"We built [an electric] truck that's 1500 lbs lighter than a full size pick-up. It will carry a thousand pounds a hundred miles on about about a 1.5 cents a mile," he said of his new vehicle, the EV Fleet, which is assembled in the United States. Agnew detailed how a "shadow government" emerged in America, beginning with the creation of the Federal Reserve, to the current scenario in which Congress has ceded control over its legislative powers to various agencies, and regulatory groups. The latest power grab has to do with 'net neutrality,' and a plan that calls for billions in new taxes, fees, and controls over Internet content, he warned."

She spoke with attorney Pat Frascogna, who has been representing retired USAF Tech Sgt. John Burroughs in his struggle to get his classified medical records from the US Veterans Administration. Burroughs has suffered from a variety of heart-related complications in recent years, and files from the UK's top secret 'Project Condign' were finally made available which directly linked exposure to UAP radiation in the December 1980 Rendlesham Forest "unexplained lights" phenomenon to bodily injury and mental manipulation.

After many years of trying, they were finally successful in getting Burroughs his VA coverage. "The injury that he received [at Rendlesham] was immediate to his heart — something that he did not have when he went into the Air Force just a year or so before, that eventually would require open heart surgery," said Frascogna, who added that the VA's action was a de facto confirmation of the UAP/UFO reality. Great article! I’ve got some pigeon friends. They don’t bring physical gifts like the crows. But one did offer a ‘good luck’ christening on my shoulder. They give me reason to get out in the crazy winter weather. All but four days, I’ve gone out. I double up on their food on the days before big storms.

The little guys know my car. A few wait patiently on the hood while I gather up the iPod, gloves and the bird seed. Some are brave enough stand on my head while I grab for bird seed jar out of the pouch. Last week one little guy perched on my hand. What a rush! After my walk, they meet me back at the car for second helpings.

They're little bundles of healing energy. The joy lasts well after I've arrived at home.
