I like Dr. Murray despite his accepting Paul's teachings. He is still an excellent bible teacher and he does a great job on the Parable of the Fig tree.
I hope you enjoy this series, and we can talk about it here if you want.

as you know Serenity that speaks to his advantage imho
but perhaps you picked up the Kenites aversion from him here
because he does mention them a couple of times almost at the end of his breath in connection with them being the tares or the evil figs
the Parable of the Fig tree
Israel is the Fig tree
which did not produce fruit when Christ came and so He cursed it
because the nation did not recognize the time of His visitation
but was busy in their wordly pursuits after killing the Prophets
it was not a secret how and when He would come
as it was written in the scrolls
even the exact timing and that He would enter Jerusalem on a donkey
they knew and they knew better than God
and so the Temple was leveled and Israel scattered
for 2000 years
today Israel is back and the fig tree is with leaves again
hopefully it will produce fruit this time
but the season is short

Dr. Murray is one of the most gifted bible teachers alive today. Maybe you should check out his teaching and see if you still adhere to your current mindset? I have studied with plenty of great teachers both Christian and non-Christian. I say don't knock something until you are actually aware of what it is, how it's shared, and if it lines up. We each will have to answer for ourselves, and I don't want it to be based on lack of truly seeking and just accepting what I am told.

i think his pretty decent
i don't agree with the Kenites part but he did a good job about the Fig tree
he didn't need all the minutes he got to get his points across so a bit over the top perhaps
but alll in all a pretty good chap with a decent head on his shoulders

Not many people can sit through this kind of teaching. It takes a willingness to go through all the passages, and I think Dr. Murray does a heck of a job connecting the dots which few would ever take the time to do or even notice the connections between cursing a little out of season fig tree and that spiritual message or even know about a good fig and bad fig in reality.
The teaching is not easily grasped, and those who are not meant to get it won't even try imho. I don't say that smugly, but just saying that when the student is ready the teacher will appear and not before.
