Am I alone in feeling that this is all culminating toward some big news in 2012 regarding off world civilizations?

http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/kepler/news/kepscicon-briefing.html

Each announcement seems to bring us closer to contact.

I have a feeling that 2012 will be the year our government confirms "we are not alone".

NASA releases have gone from "LIFE EXISTS OFF WORLD (in the form of bacteria fossils that have been dead for millions of years)

To this. The goldocks zone has gone from improbable to possible, to likely, and now confirmed.

Exciting times ahead me thinks.

Kepler is so far away right now, that finding a habitable planet will not really affect us all that much, though I do hope that there is some sort of announcement re disclosure, but I don't think it will happen by choice.

Perhaps the 'big change' in 2012 isnt the end of the world (never believed it anyway) but its actually just a re-awaking of the senses.

Disclosure does seem to be moving a pretty fast pace.

It could be moving at this speed because of the apparent 'disclose us or we'll disclose ourselves' rumours.

It even seems like they are trying to disclose to the people who arent really interested in this kind of thing. Corronation Street, Very long running soap series in the UK has a respectable headmaster character who is convinced of aliens and UFOS.

Until we manage the crisis on this planet there will be no exciting times. Looking off planet for exhilaration while we have a planet in flames is odd to me. As well as disturbing. Science heroin.

This is distraction, not disclosure.

I disagree. Even in these tough times we should be able to enjoy personal hobbies and interests. I spend a lot free time doing independant research but if i had to do that all day everyday i might lose my mind. If that happened i wouldn't be much help to any movement or cause. Even in the darkest of times i feel it is important to make time for lightheartedness. I'm curious about this mission if for no other reason than just for fun.

I agree that announcements of this sort seem to be leading to something and gathering pace. However, they more and more make me see 2012 as being a stage set for the greatest of all monstrous hoaxes. We may indeed be in for exciting times.
