Hi all a quick update I was just seeing how the extradition debate by MP's last night
was getting on, it seems they are backing a review of the treaty ....Good news !!!

dAeoL4MCaNU

Janice Sharpe on Breakfast TV......These experianced news presenters are annoying
the case has been going on for 10 years and they act as if they have not heard of
it. If they haven't its an inditement on the poor quality of presenters on TV, who
although should be impartial never seem to know much about what they are
reading, or worse when they are interviewing someone !!

Even the Mail are seeing the light..

A Reminder of the highlights of what he did and saw....

8ZPqFVM6j6A

The crime is a six month community sentence in the UK.......With the threat of a 60
year throw away the key sentence in the states, something is wrong somewhere !!!!!

Cheers Steve..

I appreciate any news on Gary Mckinnon. The petitions going on after so much time must be a good sign, public interest can be a risk to to those who want to lock him for 60 years, since the more Gary's case is getting publicity, the more interest will be in the details, and he probably does not tell it al..

Imo,Gary Mckinnon has a strong odor of someone who is not from here..

Thanks for the update Cidersomerset.the best thing can happen is to have a decision to sentence him in the UK and than to rule him some community service and a promise to keep his mouth shut.Than he can continue with his life and issue a best seller named 'a fantasy of a hacker'.

The thing is that he found some stuff that will be hard (at least for me) to not talk about once he is out of this imminent danger. Of course, it all could be released under the banner "A fantasy of a hacker".

He has clear evidence of off planet American activities with exotic vehicles. I suspect the brutal jail time the Americans are looking to give him and the vigorous pursuence of the extradition is their way of getting silence from him.

Agree with you Limor.
A funny thing happened on the way to the forum ;)
I see Google are now adding how long a picture/photo has been on the web. Obviously they have that data anyway, but now its also there for the public to see..... hmmmmmmmmm

So, instead of finding/posting another pic of gorgeous Gary, I found this on the first page.

There was a survey in a dutch newspaper today about Extra terrestrial life ... now that the Keppler satellite is finding more and more
planets they are testing the waters to see how (far) the opinions are up to date and make course changes.

Pretty soon Gary's knowledge may become 'no news'. Then the whole issue could be dropped and was indeed a waste of time.

When he is talking about the pictures of the craft he talks about the 'morality' of his actions as opposed to the legality, making the link to free energy and how it should be available to everyone. The guy has so much integrity and this is imho what is really disturbing the americans.

Treaty talks over Scots hacker Gary McKinnon

Published on Friday 16 March 2012 02:04

THE Scottish computer hacker Gary McKinnon could avoid extradition after Prime Minister David Cameron appeared to cave into pressure over the controversial treaty with the United States.

Mr Cameron said the extradition treaty would be looked at again in the light of the McKinnon case and that of Kent businessman Christopher Tappin, recently extradited to Texas.

It is understood that Mr Cameron did not mention any individual cases with President Obama during talks in the White House yesterday. But the two leaders agreed to ask officials to discuss concerns that have been raised.

Mr Cameron is thought to want to explore the possibility of whether more cases can be heard before UK courts. Mr McKinnon, who suffers from Asperger’s syndrome, is facing extradition for hacking US military computers. He claims he was looking for evidence of UFO sightings and wishes to be tried in the UK.

Mr Cameron said he recognised public concerns about the treaty and had “raised this issue with President Obama”.

_fNsah-0vpY

This case is ridiculous a six month community sentence is being exploited for sake
of some wierd and wonderfull 60 year sentence to discourage others.....

I think the publicity this case has generated over the last decade is actually
doing the job the US agencies want by detering others would be searchers.
But as Gary says the security was non existant....
Also someone may be trying to cover their backsides for incompetence,,,
Because countries all over the world were able to get in !!

Gary has already served a 12 yr sentence of worry and ill health for
a crime that carries a community sentence in the UK......

Air Force Space Command (AFSPC)

OFFICIAL WEBSITE

Air Force Space Command (AFSPC) is a major command of the United States Air Force with headquarters at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado, USA. It was created on September 1, 1982. AFSPC defends the United States through its satellite and intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) operations, vital force elements in projecting global reach and global power.

Mission

The Space Force Mission is to defend the United States through the control and exploitation of space. Air Force Space Command makes space reliable to the warfighter (i.e. forces personnel) by continuously improving the command's ability to provide and support combat forces — assuring their access to space. In addition, the command's ICBM forces deter any adversary contemplating the use of weapons of mass destruction. AFSPC has four primary mission areas:

Space forces support involves launching satellites and other high-value payloads into space using a variety of expendable launch vehicles and operating those satellites once in the medium of space.
Space control ensures friendly use of space through the conduct of counterspace operations encompassing surveillance, negation, and protection.
Force enhancement provides weather, communications, intelligence, missile warning, and navigation. Force enhancement is support to the warfighter.
Force application involves maintaining and operating a rapid response, land-based ICBM force as the Air Force's only on-alert strategic deterrent.

People

Approximately 40,000 people, including 25,400 active-duty military and civilians, and 14,000 contractor employees, combine to perform AFSPC missions. Those 25,400 active-duty personnel are divided into approximately 7,100 military employees and 18,300 civilian employees, although their missions overlap.

Organization

Numbered Air Forces

Air Force Space Command has two numbered air forces.

The Fourteenth Air Force provides space warfighting forces to U.S. Strategic Command, and is located at Vandenberg AFB, California. They manage the generation and employment of space forces to support U.S. Strategic Command and North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) operational plans and missions.

The Twentieth Air Force is located at F.E. Warren AFB, Wyoming and maintains AFSPC's ICBM weapon systems in support of U.S. Strategic Command war plans.

Direct Reporting Units

Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) at Los Angeles AFB, California, designs and acquires all Air Force and most Department of Defense space systems. It oversees launches, completes on-orbit checkouts, then turns systems over to user agencies. It supports the Program Executive Office for Space on the NAVSTAR Global Positioning, Defense Satellite Communications and MILSTAR systems. SMC also supports the Titan IV, Defense Meteorological Satellite and Defense Support programs, and Follow-on Early Warning System. In addition, it supports development and acquisition of land-based intercontinental ballistic missiles for the Air Force Program Executive Office for Strategic Systems.

The Space Innovation and Development Center (SIDC) at Schriever AFB, Colorado is also part of the command. The center plays a major role in fully integrating space systems into the operational Air Force. Its force enhancement mission looks at ways to use space systems to support warfighters in the areas of navigation, weather, intelligence, communications and theater ballistic missile warning, and how these apply to theater operations.

AFSPC is the major command providing space forces and trained ICBM forces for U.S. Strategic Command. AFSPC also supports NORAD with ballistic missile warning information, operates the Space Warfare Center to develop space applications for direct warfighter support, and is responsible for the Department of Defense's ICBM follow-on operational test and evaluation program.

Locations

AFSPC bases, stations and units include: Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station, Schriever AFB, Peterson AFB, and Buckley AFB in Colorado; Onizuka Air Force Station, Los Angeles Air Force Base, and Vandenberg Air Force Base in California; Cape Canaveral AFS and Patrick AFB in Florida; Minot AFB and Cavalier AFS in North Dakota; F.E. Warren AFB in Wyoming; Malmstrom AFB in Montana; Clear Air Force Station in Alaska; New Boston AFS in New Hampshire; and Thule Air Base in Greenland.

Space capabilities

Spacelift operations at the East and West Coast launch bases provide services, facilities and range safety control for the conduct of United States Department of Defense (DOD), National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and commercial launches. Through the command and control (largely the domain of the 50th Space Wing) of all DOD satellites, satellite operators provide force-multiplying effects — continuous global coverage, low vulnerability and autonomous operations. Satellites provide essential in-theater secure communications, weather and navigational data for ground, air and fleet operations, and threat warning. Ground-based radar and Defense Support Program satellites monitor ballistic missile launches around the world to guard against a surprise attack on North America. Space surveillance radars provide vital information on the location of satellites and space debris for the nation and the world. With a readiness rate above 99 percent, America's ICBM team plays a critical role in maintaining world peace and ensuring the nation's safety and security.

http://www.thelivingmoon.com/41pegasus/04images/Patches/web_afg_021220_014.jpg
Resources

AFSPC operates and supports the Global Positioning System, Defense Satellite Communications Systems Phase II and III, Defense Meteorological Support Program, Defense Support Program, NATO III and IV communications and Fleet Satellite Communications System UHF follow-on and MILSTAR satellites. AFSPC currently operates the Atlas II, Delta II, Titan II and Titan IV launch vehicles. This includes all of the nation's primary boosters from the Eastern and Western ranges and range support for the Space Shuttle. AFSPC also operates the nation's primary source of continuous, real-time solar flare warnings. The command also operates a worldwide network of satellite tracking stations to provide communications links to satellites — a system called the Air Force Satellite Control Network.

Ground-based radars used primarily for ballistic missile warning include the Ballistic Missile Early Warning System, PAVE PAWS, and PARCS radars. The Maui Optical Tracking Identification Facility, Ground-based Electro-Optical Deep Space Surveillance System, Passive Space Surveillance System, phased-array and mechanical radars provide primary space surveillance coverage.

The ICBM force (apart from the SLBMs operated by the US Navy) consists of the Minuteman III missiles that provide the critical component of America's on-alert strategic forces. As the nation's "silent sentinels," ICBMs, and the people who operate them, have remained on continuous around-the-clock alert since 1959 — longer than any other U.S. strategic force. More than 500 ICBMs are currently on alert in reinforced concrete launch facilities beneath the Great Plains.

AFSPC is the Air Force's largest operator of UH-1N and HH-1H Huey helicopters, responsible for missile operations support and security.

History

Missile warning and space operations were combined to form Air Force Space Command in 1982. During the Cold War, space operations focused on missile warning, and command and control for national leadership. In 1991, Operation Desert Storm provided emphasis for the command's new focus on support to the warfighter. ICBM forces were merged into AFSPC in 1993.

Air Force Space Command

U.S. Space Command was created in 1985, but America's military actually began operating in space much earlier. With the Soviet Union's unexpected 1957 launch of the world's first man-made satellite, Sputnik I, President Eisenhower accelerated the nation's slowly emerging civil and military space efforts. The vital advantage that space could give either country during those dark days of the Cold War was evident in his somber words. "Space objectives relating to defense are those to which the highest priority attaches because they bear on our immediate safety," he said.

During the 1960s and 1970s, the Army, Navy and Air Force advanced and expanded space technologies in the areas of communication, meteorology, geodesy, navigation and reconnaissance. Space continued to support strategic deterrence by providing arms control and treaty verification, and by offering unambiguous, early warning of any missile attack on North America.

On September 23, 1985, the Joint Chiefs of Staff confirmed the ever-increasing value of military space systems by creating a new unified command - U.S. Space Command - to help institutionalize the use of space in U.S. deterrence efforts.

The U.S.-led coalition's 1991 victory in the Persian Gulf War underscored, and brought widespread recognition to, the value of military space operations. Communications, intelligence, navigation, missile warning and weather satellites demonstrated that space systems could be indispensable providers of tactical information to U.S. warfighters.

Since then, U.S. Space Command has further strengthened its focus on warfighting by ensuring that Soldiers and Marines in the foxhole, Sailors on the ship's bridge, and pilots in the cockpit have the space information they need - when they need it.

Air Force Space Command (AFSPC), created September 1, 1982, is one of nine Air Force major commands, and is headquartered at Peterson Air Force Base, CO. Missile warning and space operations were combined to form Air Force Space Command in 1982, the same year NASA launched the first space shuttle. During the Cold War, space operations focused on missile warning, and command and control for national leadership. In 1991, Operation Desert Storm provided emphasis for the command's new focus on support to the warfighter. ICBM forces were merged into AFSPC in 1993.

AFSPC defends America through its space and intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) operations, vital force elements in projecting global reach and global power. AFSPC is a key factor in implementing the expeditionary aerospace force organizational structure.

Air Force Space Command has two numbered air forces. Fourteenth Air Force provides space warfighting forces to U.S. Space Command, and is located at Vandenberg AFB, CA. Fourteenth Air Force manages the generation and employment of space forces to support U.S. Space Command and North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) operational plans and missions. Twentieth Air Force, located at F.E. Warren AFB, WY, operates and maintains AFSPC's ICBM weapon systems in support of U.S. Strategic Command war plans.

The Space Warfare Center at Schriever AFB, CO, is also part of the command. The center plays a major role in fully integrating space systems into the operational Air Force. Its force enhancement mission looks at ways to use space systems to support warfighters in the areas of navigation, weather, intelligence, communications and theater ballistic missile warning, and how these apply to theater operations. The center is also home to the Space Battlelab.

AFSPC is the major command providing space forces for the U.S. Space Command and trained ICBM forces for U.S. Strategic Command. AFSPC also supports NORAD with ballistic missile warning information, operates the Space Warfare Center to develop space applications for direct warfighter support, and is responsible for the Department of Defense's ICBM follow-on operational test and evaluation program.

AFSPC bases and stations include: Cheyenne Mountain Air Station, Schriever and Peterson AFBs and Buckley Air National Guard Base, Colo.; Onizuka AS and Vandenberg AFB, CA; Cape Canaveral AS and Patrick AFB, FL; Cavalier AS, ND; F.E. Warren AFB, WY; Malmstrom AFB, MT; Clear AS, AK; Thule AB, Greenland; and Woomera AS, Australia. AFSPC units are located around the world, including Japan, the United Kingdom and Germany.

Spacelift operations at the East and West Coast launch bases provide services, facilities and range safety control for the conduct of DOD, National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and commercial launches. Through the command and control of all DOD satellites, satellite operators provide force-multiplying effects -- continuous global coverage, low vulnerability and autonomous operations.

AFSPC operates and supports the Global Positioning System, Defense Satellite Communications Systems Phase II and III, Defense Support Program, NATO III and IV communications and Fleet Satellite Communications System UHF follow-on and MILSTAR satellites. The command also operates a worldwide network of satellite tracking stations to provide communications links to satellites -- a system called the Air Force Satellite Control Network.

Ground-based radars used primarily for ballistic missile warning include the Ballistic Missile Early Warning System, PAVE PAWS and PARCS radars. The Ground-based Electro-Optical Deep Space Surveillance System, Passive Space Surveillance System, phased-array and mechanical radars provide primary space surveillance coverage.

The ICBM force consists, as of mid-1999, of Minuteman III and Peacekeeper missiles that provide the critical component of America's on-alert strategic forces. As the nation's "silent sentinels," ICBMs, and the people who operate them, have remained on continuous around-the-clock alert since 1959 -- longer than any other U.S. strategic force. Five hundred Minuteman III and 50 Peacekeepter ICBMs are currently on alert in reinforced concrete launch facilities beneath the Great Plains.

AFSPC is the Air Force's largest operator of UH-1N Huey helicopters, responsible for missile operations support and security.

As of June 1999, approximately 37,200 people, including 25,800 active-duty military and civilians, and 11,360 contractor employees, combine to perform AFSPC missions.

Air Force Space Command brings space to the warfighter by continuously improving the command's ability to provide and support combat forces -- assuring their access to space. In addition, the command's ICBM forces deter any adversary contemplating the use of weapons of mass destruction. AFSPC has six primary mission areas:

Gary McKinnon is mentally fit for extradition, report says
Wednesday 28 March 2012
New evidence seen by Channel 4 News suggests Gary McKinnon is mentally fit enough to be extradited. But the report is by an expert who previously said McKinnon would likely commit suicide if deported.

VIDEO REPORT ON LINK::
http://www.channel4.com/news/psychiatrists-conflicting-reports-on-hackers-mental-state

Mr McKinnon (pictured) has fought for more than a decade to stop the government extraditing him to the US on computer hacking charges. The decision over whether to reject the request for his transfer across the Atlantic has hinged on the likelihood of him trying to take his own life.

He is wanted by the US authorities on charges of hacking into Nasa and Pentagon computers from his home in north London in the months following 9/11.

Three years ago, Mr McKinnon's legal team commissioned Prof Declan Murphy to carry out a psychiatric examination of the 46-year-old, as they fought to prove that the Asperger's sufferer would likely commit suicide if he was extradited.

And Professor Murphy's evaluation of Mr McKinnon appeared to firmly support the lawyers' argument that transiting him to America would be in breach of European convention.

The King's College academic concluded that unless the patient he had seen was under constant supervision if he was to be imprisoned in the US, he would almost certainly attempt suicide.

Last year, the Home Office - which will ultimately decide whether to green-light his extradition - also hired Professor Murphy to give his professional opinion on Mr McKinnon, even though he had not seen the Scottish hacker since writing his original report.

Sources say the report will represent "the final word" in Home Secretary Theresa May's decision, even though four other experts have also submitted evaluations, having seen Mr McKinnon face-to-face in recent months and years.

Channel 4 News has seen Prof Murphy's two reports - the one from 2009 and the one from the end of last year - and the contrast between them is stark.

In his 2009 report commissioned by Mr McKinnon's family, Professor Murphy warned: "If Mr McKinnon is deported to the US, he will require - in my opinion - continual observation on a one-one basis during that time period, and for the rest of his incarceration. If this does not happen, he is likely to make a serious attempt at suicide.

That assessment appears to have changed drastically by last year, when he makes no recommendation for one-to-one, round-the-clock observation of Mr McKinnon.

In the report commissioned by the Home Office he writes: "The risk of actual self-harm could be ameliorated by regular contact with mental health professionals with supportive counselling and listening services of the type that are available within UK prisons."

And. asked by the Home Office to assess the chances of Mr McKinnon killing himself if his deportation was granted, Prof Murphy plays down the possibility by describing how his suicide plans were far-fetched and poorly thought out.

"Suicide plans are not well formulated, e.g. he initially informed Dr Vermeulen about an elaborate plan to harm himself involving potassium chloride and electric shock, though he then gave contradictory accounts of his level of knowledge about the likely fatal dose of potassium chloride," he writes.

It's an in absentia report and it contradicts his previous face-to-face report. It's a mystery to everyone - Janis Sharp

But Professor Murphy he makes no mention of a conversation he had with his patient three years earlier - included in his original report - in which Mr McKinnon stated he would kill himself by overdosing on sleeping tablets, an arguably less "elaborate" plan.

Professor Murphy said that he could not comment on Mr McKinnon's case while it is still being considered by the Home Secretary.

Human rights lawyer, Julian Knowles QC, said that there is no conflict of interest regarding Professor Murphy's reports for both the McKinnon family and the Home Office.

"There is no property in a witness. A witness is not owned by either side. The witness is under obligation not to reveal privileged matters that are confidential, but there is no problem in speaking to either side," he said.

But Mr McKinnon's mother, Janis Sharp, said she could not understand why Professor Murphy's conclusions appeared to have changed, particularly as her son had refused to see the pychiatrist for almost three years.

"He's obviously changed his mind," she said.

And referring to reports of Mr McKinnon's mental state by other experts, she added: "What basis could he possibly have to go against the expert opinions of four of the top people in the country, who say that Gary will absolutely take his own life. It's an in absentia report and it contradicts his previous face-to-face report. What did he base this on? It's a mystery to everyone."

Ms Sharp said that the contents of Professor Murphy's latest evaluation had upset her son.

"To suddenly have Professor Murphy say the opposite for no reason that anyone can fathom has shaken Gary to the core," she said.

FactCheck: Is the US-UK extradition treaty unfair?

Shami Chakrabarti, director of civil liberties campaign group Liberty, told Channel 4 News that the dissimilarities in Professor Murphy's two reports calls into question the Home Office's handling of Mr McKinnon’s extradition case.

"I think there are obviously questions now about Professor Murphy’s second report: it’s so contrasting with the first report which was based on an interview with Gary McKinnon," she said.

"I'm interested in what makes a senior consultant psychiatrist, having seen a patient [and concluded that] they have a fixed idea that suicide is the best outcome for them, to switch to saying there's only a moderate risk of suicide.

"I don't think it's a coincidence that a psychiatrist who's seen a patient and written a report then speaks to the home office and waters down the report."

Ms Chakrabarti added: "If all the Home Office has got to say that Gary McKinnon is fit for extradition is the evidence of an expert who contradicts his earlier evidence on [his] vulnerability, I think it's impossible for the home office to extradite this man."

As recently as this month, David Cameron raised Mr McKinnon's plight with US President Barack Obama. And in opposition, the prime minister backed his bid to be tried in the UK.

In a statement, the home office said:

"After consulting the Chief Medical Officer, the Home Secretary instructed two independent experts to review the case and their report was sent to Mr McKinnon's representatives on 24 February in line with the directions of the court. Mr McKinnon and his legal team have until 6 April to respond and make any further representations.

"The Home Secretary will consider the report alongside all other relevant material and aims to reach a decision as soon as is consistent with dealing fairly and properly with this case."

Further inconsistencies between the reports

Suicidal, but not hopeless?

2009: "With regards to the future, Mr McKinnon stated that he was not confident about his future in that he expects to be deported…[he] stated that as a result…he would be very likely to face a very long prison sentence – approximately 60 years…I asked Mr McKinnon how he felt about this outcome and he stated 'I don’t even plan to go over there. I'll top myself. They treat you worse than animals. I couldn't face it – I couldn't stand being bullied at school, so I definitely could not stand being jailed. I don't think I'd be protected. I’d top myself before I go.'"

2011: "At an appointment with [me], he did not express significant hopelessness or helplessness.

US prisons

2009: "I cannot comment in an expert way on Mr McKinnon’s ability to cope with a custodial sentence within an American prison – as I have no experience of American prisons."

2011: "The arrangements made for transit to the US…refer to supervised transit to a detention centre which has psychiatry, psychology and counselling services available. From a psychiatric viewpoint, these arrangements appear, at face value, to be adequate and…are compatible with UK standards."

Treatment of Asberger's

2009: "There are relatively few specialist inpatient units (in Britain) for people with an ASD and a normal intelligence who have significant forensic histories. However, one such facility does exist."

2011: "Individuals with autistic/Asperger traits are overrepresented in the prison population, and it is not unusual for prison mental health clinicians to have to deal with such individuals or, indeed, with a wide range of complex cases."
