View Full Version : The Danger of "Electronic" News

A few days ago I've done some digging to research a bit the group that call themselves "Anonymous" (http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?36425-Log-of-Anonymous-statements-and-actions).
And I've noticed an interesting phenomenon: a lot of the videos went missing and some "news pages" returned a "Not Found" error.
This is very different from the age of newspapers.
With "news on paper", once that is sent out, many people have the same copy of it, and if you dig long enough, you will surely find an old photo or an old article as it was published!
With "digital" news, the information is stored in one central location, let's call that the "news site". So if the they decide to delete that later on, you have no way to know what was news back in 2010.
But that's not really the problem. What if the "news site" instead of deleting a piece of news, changes it! This brings us right to George Orwell - 1984 when you had no way of knowing what really happened in the past, as the "old news" were re-written on a daily basis.
Sure, you would still be aware of your "personal history", but any other history you learn from the "news" and from the "old news".
I don't think we are there yet, where someone could alter the news in a completely centralized way, because we still have a lot of "independent" bloggers. But we are rapidly approaching that: blogs are becoming centralized around Google and Wordpress, and news are becoming copy pasting of "central news sites".
This means that in the future, with a click of a mouse, the entire history can be "changed". The articles you wanted to use to make your case will either be missing or will say something else entirely, and arguing against that will make you look crazy and paranoid.
We will finally end up living "in the now" as the mystics advice since it may become virtually impossible to rely on any "archived news".
Food for thought...
How do you "save" news for later (as one used to save clippings from news papers)
What news would you "save"?
Where would you store them?
Do we even need to "save" news for later?
How many of you use an incremental backup system (with history)? How many use any backups at all?

Hi Ilie,
Great post and observations. Yes, I too have been aware of this and save anything I think is relevant. I have a harddrive becoming rather full - yet just know that one day I will be really pleased that I did this (if the web is turned off). I have the Harddrive stored in an old metal tin box - to act as a sort of farraday cage, just in case of massive solar flares. I know this probably isn't the best answer but it is all that I can afford to do right now.
I suppose the other alternative is to print out all the news one finds useful and do it the old fashioned way of filing it way in a cabinet - one then is safe from computer failure etc.
The other alternative is to have a photographic memory - I am still working on this - smile.

I believe most of what’s been written as per history as been manipulated by the PTB anyway. You just have to connect the dots to find out that a lot of what’s been taught through schools, media is false.
Me and the family are actually going to put some stuff in a container what we feel are important including news events and bury them in the back garden. In 10 years time we will then dig them back up. We will probably say hey i totally forgot about that event. It is very easy after something as happened for it to be erased.
I personally don’t like the media as they are big players in the manipulation process. For me as long as i have got my family and friends and i remember some big worldly events (like first contact) I will be happy with that.
Happy memories

Most likely the "ultimate solution" is to follow your inner guidance and intelligence and then you will not need to "save" the news. (Main reason why I've asked this in the OP: "Do we even need to "save" news for later?")
But, if that is too out there for you, or you're not comfortable with it, then having local backups seems to be next best thing. I believe burning DVDs or CDs is a good way to protect against solar flares.

I've once heard that in old Soviet Union it was illegal to store newspapers in apartments. Old newspapers could only be stored and read in libraries.
As for electronic media alterations. I am aware of this possibility all the time i use [IBED] BB tag instead of pasting whole articles in the post. The reason i do this are copyrights :( I do not want Avalon to run in troubles due to this issue... So any clipping saving would be for personal use only anyway. Any attempt at publishing evidence would get us into copyrights infringement.
There are several tools that can "suck" entire websites and create offline version (i once used Teleport). Very convenient. Blogs are very hard to modify centrally IMHO. They are human created and humans would be necessary to read them and change accordingly. And there could be thousands of entries reporting on single inconvenient event. If "necessity" would arise to alter archived reports of that event it would be very hard work to synchronize all alterations of the reports. It would be probably easier to drop them dead altogether.
Great observation Ilie. Thank you :)

Recordable CDs & DVDs are not safe for longtime storage :( Any data stored on them last for max 5-10 years. After that it is useles... The pigment oxidize and there are too many CRC errors during read. Unless you press them professionally at mastering studio instead of burning at home.
There is one ultimate central "news" storage. Guaranteed to be honest. Akashic Records. One day everybody will learn how to access this. It will be fun to know what really happened in the past behind all events in question. I can't hardly wait for that day :)

I save stuff - and BU on an exterior HD. But don't have a faraday cage. Years ago I used to print but soon realized I could fill up my home with fat binders and had to stop. But, some of it I'm glad I saved as I have seen whole topics (such as the danger of anesthesia containing fluoride) completely disappear. Even the new wave of articles about the dangers of fluoride does not mention anesthetics. Gone. Just one example.

Great and salient observation, that inner guidance and intelligence you speak of seems to be the ultimate harbinger of truth. Trouble is, it takes a bit of time and effort to get to the point where you get to trust it. In the Christian belief system, it is called Discernment and is believed to be a gift of the spirit, direct from God. But in other systems, it is just the way you get once you decide once and for all to trust your intuition and inner guidance.
Barring that, the PA server seems to be a good place. ;)

Like I said in my previous post - I am putting things onto a 1TB harddrive for safe keeping.
I have a question for all you computer techs. Is it okay to bundle all my MP3 Music into one folder - is there a limit to capacity/size? I am using Vista and Win 7 opperating system.
I remember when I had XP there was a limit of 15GB then the file became unstable and corrupt.
1TB is loads of memory - yet I don't want lots of little files - I would like to put all music in one folder; videos in another etc, which could amount to maybe 300 GB or more in one file.
Any computer advice on this would be great! I don't want to create a situation and having lost data. If there is a limit to folder sizes, I really need to know to protect my files.
Many thanks. ;)
