On December 6th, 2011, Los Angeles became the first major U.S. city to call for an amendment reserving Constitutional rights solely for living human beings.

That is a worthwhile initiative and sounds as if it is a result of backlash from the ludicrous ruling by the Supreme Court to allow corporate supremacy in the democratic process (I won't confront anyone by pointing out the political lean of the court). The pendulum has swung from the rule of the robber barons, to the voice of the people, back to the rule of the robber barons. Maybe I don't understand the full ramifications of the legislation but it sounds if it could strip entirely any legal protection that legitimate business has in the U.S. I don't think it will go very far. But again, it is a worthy statement.

Do you mean the Citizens United decision? Reason had a response that made me rethink the decisions. Seems to be the typical good twist from both sides to really confuse you.
