Recipe for a better world

Look at the picture below. This was taken by my partner this morning. The yellow-throated scrub wren in my hand had become entangled in the bird netting around our vegetable garden. The picture was taken long after the bird was free, and her heartbeat had long returned to normal. She stayed to be gently stroked and admired by me and my young son, secure because she could feel the Love we had for her. This is the world as it should be, every creature secure in the energy of Love, knowing that there will always be a safe place to recuperate from the storms of life. In this case, the safe harbour was the palm of my hand, but it is also many other things: a cup of tea with a lonely elderly relative; the cost of a hot meal given to a homeless person; support given to one who sticks their head above the parapet to voice dissatisfaction with the state of the world. If we want a better world, we should strive to walk in Love always.
