How does your ego show up in your daily life?
Pretending to be somebody we're not. Buying something when we know we can't afford it. Believing our reputation, our looks, relationships, define us is an illusion.
The other day my partner and I had a disagreement and I said,"how can you say that since I do everything" saying to myself that's not me. So there's my ego reacting out of a defense instead of accepting responsibility.
How do we balance our ego with our true self?
I really like what Eckhart Tolle said about ego that,"No thing, no material possession defines you."
How many years do we spin around in the same routine, job, or situation denying our potential, our true passions due to fear, shame or guilt?
I guess sometimes it is significant when something drastic happens in our lives that shakes us up enough to realize who we truly are.
