Ending of the shuttle program

There's not alot of news from NASA about the future U.S. space program. Is that good or bad? China's space program is full on right now. It doesn't seem logical that the U.S. would give up the edge in space exploration waiting for NASA to develop the next launch vehicle. They are not kidding anyone. Richard Dolan's speech on a secret space program makes so much sense. So will millions of dollars be spent to develop the next shuttle replacement? Or, will the PTB release their hold on the technology they are keeping from the rest of humanity?
