FYI:
"Thousands of US military forces, who served in the Iraq war, may face prosecution for being involved in torturing Iraqi prisoners, a political analyst tells Press TV's US Desk.
“It's a very deep concern that as many as 10,000 Americans may face prosecution” for involvement in subjecting Iraqi prisoners to torture and ruthless treatment during the US war with Iraq, said Gordon Duff, a senior editor of Veterans Today Journal, in an interview with our channel on Thursday.
In July, US-based Human Rights Watch (HRW) published a detailed report on the mistreatment of Iraqi detainees under the administration of former US President George W. Bush.
According to HRW, the tortured prisoners have presented more than sufficient evidence to warrant criminal investigations into the possible complicity of top US officials, including former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, former Vice President Dick Cheney, and former Director of the CIA George Tenet.
Also in October last year, the whistleblower website Wikileaks released documents, suggesting that the Pentagon had instructed the US-led forces to 'secretly' torture detainees in Iraq, including those in the notorious Abu Ghraib prison.
In 2003, the US invaded Iraq under the pretext of finding weapons of mass destruction allegedly stockpiled by the former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein. However, later it was revealed that not only did not the Iraqi regime possess the weapons, but also that the US and British leaders, who had defended the military action, previously knew about their non-existence.
More than one million Iraqis have been killed as a result of the US-led invasion and subsequent occupation since 2003, according to the California-based investigative organization Project Censored.
A number of US officials in George W. Bush administration suggested during the war that the military effort had partly been launched to change the order in the Middle East and make it more Israel-friendly."

'10,000s GIs may face trial over torture'
I'm a historian, and wars are always fought with torture, rape, and plunder since the beginning of mankind. In the past the reason most peasants became soldiers was for the booty or sexual plunders of war. Only in this modern age has war crimes came about. i think this is a paradox in itself, and a true war can not in anyway have war crimes.
If a nation goes to war, it must be total war , no exceptions. If the enemy sees the humanity of the opposing force in war this is weakness that will ultimately be used against the aggressor.

The only way for "justice" to be done is at the top.
Use your imagine here as to just who should be waterboarded ...

I think the truth should be released to MSM and repeated a few times. Then let the people do the rest ;) As they were only following orders anyway. I am still hoping for the day that we see those who are truly guilty hung on the steps of our nation's capital. What a Time Magazine Front Cover that will be. :usa2:

Yes, war has always been a nasty deed.
I do not think that 10,000 men/women should be held to the level of going to a lengthy prison sentence though. Take a bunch of 18 and 20 year olds, put them in a uniform, teach them to kill, send them to a place where their life is at risk every second, instruct them to toruture then bring them home and prosecute them for a "crime"... no way.
But I disagree that if a nation goes to war it must be total war allowing for all kinds of abuse.
Fact of the matter is that a higher moral standard for the world is evolving and the enactment of this new standard will be duked out in courtrooms around the world.
The leaders of war, those who gave the command, and the higher ups in the military field should be held accountable, and then likely a few of those who acutally did the hands on work. Those in command have the responsibitlity to a higher moral standard that the world has been calling for and that has also been approved of by our very own military and government. I will never forget those photos of Abu Ghraib. Those who inflected that toruture in that situtation should be punished and counseled and then released, but their leaders who instructed and permitted should go to jail for life.
Just because something always was does not mean that is should or will always be.
This is what evolution in consciousness is all about.

Why do we have war at all? Isn't it the ultimate in bullying and shows a lack of intelligence. What are called wars of late are nothing more than invasions, terrorism. It is insanity, completely insane.

Exactly my dear, if it wasn't for the Cabal wanting to shift money around and trim down the population, we wouldn't have wars at all. Specially since I think they said The Cold War or WW2, every single one has been started by a False Flag Attack. Or based on absolute lies.

Thing is, has there ever been a time when there was no war on this planet? And what does that say about us?

I think possibly for about 300 years or so...once from what I've read etc. As for what it says for us? That depends on which and who's truth you're looking for.

The real truth? Aliens. This planet and it's inhabitants have been controlled and manipulated by various races of Aliens since the dawning of existence on this place started. Before terrans existed here, there were wars caused by the aliens that inhabited this planet, gave us those really cool megalithic structures, and the fused green glass etc. Then they decided to genetically engineer "us" after multiple different experiments (why they've found so many different humanoid primate types with absolutely no genetic link between them). And, then we as a race have been waring with eachother because they learned the one time they didn't manipulate us through spiking the water and other methods. We united and stood up against them and said "GET THE HELL OFF OUR PLANET". So this time they made it really hard doubled their efforts. And, that's why we're getting help. To get the baddies off our planet again and stop being manipulated and controlled. Or to use my sister's favorite term to stop being "Hensoned" (ie: controlled or manipulated by an outside source.). Basically as long as we are waring with eachother. We can't stop and say "Hey wait a minute here..." and unite like we SHOULD be doing against our common foe.
There's the absolute truth and history of the planet in one paragraph ;)

I acknowledge that a lot of thought has been put into war, otherwise the weaponry and insanity would not have developed. So, can we not put a lot of thought into no war and reverse the tide?

The short answer "Yes. Absolutely."
The little bit longer answer: We need to turn our thoughts, energy and focus away from wars, and those who propagate them. In literal terms: Where ever the focus goes, energy follows.

If the US can't practice what it preaches "peace and diplomacy" NOT blackmail or murder, then they should stay out of wars. Period. This was a resource boardroom war for OIL Control. Case in point the 1st name for the war was: OPERATION IRAQI LIBERTY where the initials told US exactly what it was about. Then they changed it to OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM.
Karma is about to come into this and it should start at the top with Donald Reinfield Rumsfeld who followed Cheney's delusional quest for more power and stock options from the war profiteering.
Some are awake and still, some are not.
