Are there any members here of Christian faith ? I feel so lost with religion I know theres a God source but not sure how it all ties into the religious faith. Should i walk alone and believe that no matter how i get to God it will be alright or do i lay trapped in a specific faith and try to judge myself into believing what is wrong or what is right and hope that im not following some darker path and hope that I can follow the light no matter how many blinders there is in that faith?

I will not answer to the question of what should you do, but I'll tell you what I did and let you make up your own mind.

I was raised with the Christian religion, but (thankfully) my parents did not insist much on it. I did not like the message that was presented and the fact that no questions were being answered properly, and you had to take everything "on faith"!

So next, I tried to look at many religious systems and see what they teach. Some I liked more than others. However a common theme seemed to be that the teachings of a loving person have been hijacked by a group of people that call themselves "priests" and who claim that only they can possibly understand and explain the "original intention" behind the original message. This I understood to be another form of control.

Nowadays I read "spiritual writings", but I don't look for religion. I mostly look at other people spiritual experiences and I also pay attention to my own. There are those that say reading such stuff will not do you good, because your own experience is much better than reading about someone else's, but in my case I was looking for some guidance too. I am pretty sure that there are many spiritual people that did not read anything about spirituality :).

When reading such writings I ask myself: is it loving? is it empowering?

"Is it loving" does not mean pampering your ego and making you feel good. I believe a loving message points you to the truth and must be empowering. It must give you the tools to discover all you need by yourself, within yourself. This way you avoid being trapped in any specific faith, as you put it.

If you like, I can recommend you read the books "Conversations with God" by Donald Neale Walsch.

Hey Baddbob,

I suggest maybe reading "Hinds feet in high places" as a true gift to yourself. It is a seminal work that has a message for everyone letting go of past hurts and weaknesses. I would also be careful about throwing the baby out with the bathwater just because some "christians" cannot answer a question does not mean the bible does not answer it. I would also not feel you are forsaken and lost spinning down a hole, but possibly more on the wonderful road to looking more deeply than you have been allowed to in your past environments of faith and study.

There are many levels of understanding and few "christians" are given the tools necessary to do their own in depth study. I would use a KJV, strongs concordance, Interlinear lexicon all of which can be obtained for free using "e-sword". I use it frequently when doing in depth studies. There are also other tools you can use. You can also use an online copy of the "Companion" bible by Bullinger. He had some very interesting insights into the bible. That version has some 192 appendix studies in it. It's well worth the read. And of course when your spirit may need comfort I was blessed with the works of AW Tozer whom my spirit identified with strongly in my younger days as a newly born again christian. My path has had many twists and turns and some christians would call me a heretic today.

I do not accept Paul as an Apostle for he preached a wholly differenct gospel than Jesus did. There's a whole thread on that topic. I gain much from those here on this forum, from mystic studies, esoteric topics, the lost gospels, the book of Enoch, The Book of the dead, Sumerian texts (Yes you can read sumerian and there is a tool to do so for free online), and lots of other books. I do believe the bible has a very important message for us, but I also believe it's been abused by power control seekers and now they are finding the dogma won't work for the coming new dawn and have worked tirelessly to attack christianity to move us into the new religion for the new day and that will be the religion of ascension.

I wish you much success in your journey!
