Chinese airport closed after UFO spotted over city

A Chinese airport was closed after this mysterious object was spotted in the sky.
Arcing over Zhejiang's provincial capital Hangzhou, the UFO appeared to glow with an eerie white light and left a bright trail in its wake.
Xiaoshan Airport was closed after the UFO was detected at around 9 pm and dozens of flights had to be diverted.
Stunned witnesses reported seeing a comet-like fireball in the sky and a number of local residents took photos of the strange ball of light.
A local bus driver, giving his name only as Yu, said he had seen a strange glowing object in the sky late on Wednesday afternoon.
'The thing suddenly ran westwards fast, like it was escaping from something,' he said.
Inbound flights were diverted to nearby airports while outbound flights were delayed for three to four hours.
Some Chinese experts claimed that the strange sight was actually debris from a US intercontinental ballistic missile.
Chinese officials later said that they knew what the object had been but were unable to make it public because there was a 'military connection.'
An official statement is expected later today.

Some more informations
An unidentified flying object (UFO) disrupted air traffic over Zhejiang's provincial capital Hangzhou late on Wednesday, the municipal government said on Thursday.
Xiaoshan Airport was closed after the UFO was detected at around 9 pm, and some flights were rerouted to airports in the cities of Ningbo and Wuxi , said an airport spokesman, who declined to be named.
The airport had resumed operations, and more details will be released after an investigation, he said.
A source with knowledge of the matter, however, told China Daily on Thursday that authorities had learned what the UFO was after an investigation.
But it was not the proper time to publicly disclose the information because there was a military connection, he said, adding that an official explanation is expected to be given on Friday.
Inbound flights were diverted to the nearby airports in Zhejiang province's Ningbo and Jiangsu province's Wuxi. Outbound flights were delayed for three to four hours.
A staff member at the airport's information desk said the airport had "no idea" how many flights were affected by the closure.
At around 11 pm on Wednesday, a netizen wrote three entries announcing the airport's closure in
his microblog at Sina.com, but they were all soon deleted.
He posted an apology at midnight, saying the news had not been confirmed and asking those who had republished his earlier entries to delete them.

Ever heard about photographing with long exposures (http://digital-photography-school.com/long-exposure-photography)?
Most of pictures above are such photos of police helicopter with searchlight or something similar (search google images (http://www.google.pl/images?q=long+exposure+helicopter))
The most interesting one is "descending fireball" presented in one of first posts .. but that can be re-entry vehicle of sorts, does not need extraterrestrial explanation :) The "comet"-like thing in second video is interesting too, looks like aircraft flying through the cloud, but in reverse (or same helicopter with searchlight in the low cloud during sunset :P) , still both can be CGI. Other than that, lots of hype. 99% of "ufo sightings" are people mislabeling natural/manmade phenomena. Its the 1% that is interesting :biggrin1:
Have a good time :)

Oh i thought you would say it was gas clouds lol.. ye right they closed the airport because there were helicopters waitting to be overexposed in fotos...
And the video with the white trail that changes direction is a comet right? ok HF

Ever heard of official statements ? They didn't close the airport because the radar screen showed a long exposed photograph of a policehelicopter... I wonder whether you read the article..
Secondly, 99% of UFO sightings are fake? And you know that of course because all these people who see them with their bare eyes in fact see a cgi projection that george lucas and steven spielberg were developing for their new space drama..
No offense, it's good to be skeptical but you give us, ufo sighters, investigators and even the chinese not enough credit at all.
I've seen different UFO's and I know they're UFO's because i'm researching the subject.
I know when I see the ISS flying over
I know when I see a satellite flying over
I know when I see a falling star passing by
I know what an airplane looks like, even in the dark and how their lights twinkle
I know what a balloon is
I know when I see a searchlight in the clouds
I know the sounds and looks (even in dark) of our F-16 airforce fleet
And I know when I see super bright glowing red lights in the sky moving at incredible angles and speed in formations that they aren't any of the above.
And don't bother me with the possibilities they might be exhausts of jetfighter engines because i know their faint orange yellow color that is only seeable from one angle.
Don't take this personal towards you my friend:)
But I do take it personal when people treat me like someone who can't see the difference between natural or human phenomena and unexplainable events.
I'm tired of being treated a fool because I've got my eyes on the sky and DO notice stuff that i'm not supposed to know about

Can't take it personally, as what you say is true.
What you point out are precisely the precautions any serious UFO researcher should take.
Notice that I did not wrote about event itself, only about supposed "photos" of the event that people hype about!
You know, being right for all the wrong reasons?
Sadly, people seek "unexplained" in natural phenomena and produce "food for debunkers", while serious research in real unexplained events/unidentified objects is bogged down by ridicule, which is caused by amount of mislabelling other people make. See the vicious circle?

I am not an expert on photography but this picture here could be an effect of long exposure.
http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2010/07/09/article-0-0A61C231000005DC-541_634x396.jpg
See, you have a "double effect" on the house on the left and right side & the power lines. This effect could be from a long exposure time. And the above examples of planes and helicopters taken with long exposure are looking very similar to the object in the middle.

Some of the video and photographic evidence is not from China, it is footage/pics from earlier cases, re-labeled and bootstrapped onto this story.
That being said, I am making no judgement on the China case. The pics do look interesting.

Yeah the translation is simple just talking about the object that was moving at high speed over ther airport for a decent amount of time, the people did not know what it was and were scared, the military said they exactly what it was but CONFIRMED it had a military involment don't miss that part, coment or not.
but elluding to Bill's anglo saxon mission if they think were using ET spy planes, Russian spys over here, come on 2 + 2 = 4 screw Isreal if the gloablists want a war they don't have to try very hard, and lets face it tensions are mounting. But it could also be a Chinese spyplane using craft tech but why fly it over civilian space that does not make sense unless this is unvaling to the world and telling the governments look what we have... But they have programs and protocals for that, and two if it was hostile or unknown as a enemy craft they would have scarmbled some planes them selves and they again did not.
So more questions than answers but the Chinese Government and Military are notorious for lying about figures, and event with their borders such as the Sechzuan earthquake in which they lied blatanlty about the number of people killed so the rest of the world would not down on such a feeble clean up attmept that ensued, also the moving of children from stable brick house at school to cheap cardboard walls talks volumes about the mentality of the GOV, then to try to cover it up and deny the famileys aid, come on.
Anyways I am off topic but this it's ****ing fishy!!

UFOs over China? Not quite, analyst says
By the CNN Wire Staff
July 20, 2010 -- Updated 1641 GMT (0041 HKT)
(CNN) -- Those probably were not UFOs that hovered over China
recently, a Massachusetts Institute of Technology analyst said.
The images of the UFOs have caused quite a stir in China and on blogs
around the world.
But many of the images appear to be faked with the software program
Photoshop and the ones that were not faked seem to depict the launch
of a Chinese ballistic missile, said Geoffrey Forden, an MIT weapons
analyst.
Forden, who also specializes in Russian and Chinese space systems,
published his analysis on a blog called "Arms Control Wonk."
In the analysis, Forden used scientific theories to examine the images
of the flying object that he felt were not created with Photoshop.
"It seems to me that a DF-21 (missile) launch somewhere near Jiuquan
and aimed at a point somewhere in the eastern Gobi desert is the most
likely cause of this 'UFO'", Forden wrote.
Chinese officials have been looking into the reports about UFOs. They
have said they were trying to determine whether the objects were
private or military aircraft, rocket flares, reflection in the sky or
something else.
The first sighting occurred at Hangzhou's Xiaoshan Airport, in the
eastern part of the country, according to the state-controlled Xinhua
news agency.
Eighteen flights were delayed or rerouted and operations shut down
after twinkling lights were spotted above the terminal around 9 p.m.
July 7, the agency said. According to Xinhua, speculation has centered
on a private aircraft. The state-run China Daily quoted a source
saying the object had a military connection.
Purported photos of the unworldly object have appeared online, on
YouTube and on television news shows.
Meanwhile, The Shanghai Daily reported a UFO appeared above the city
of Chongqing a day later.
