My daughter just showed me this astonishing software -- Universe Sandbox, Interactive Astronomy Software for Everyone. It's a "universe simulator", she says.
There are different versions of it, of course, including one that's free. And there is a free trial. And I believe it just came off of some part of it being on sale for $2.50 instead of $10.00, but that's not my point. It is just extraordinarily fun to look at.
You can view the solar system, with all the various bodies that go through it, from a nice distance, with everything moving at a speed, which I guess is controllable. It's gorgeous! I'm in a rush, just wanted to share it. It might still be on sale.
