From Dutch media:
"The Dutch gold reserve is regarded as the ultimate buffer in financially chaotic times. Yet as much as 90 percent of gold is in foreign vaults, for example, in New York. But is it safe over there?
The total of the gold reserves of the Netherlands was previously a secret. The bulk of the Dutch gold is located in New York, Britain and Canada and in the 30's[When was the Chinese gold shipped to the US? Hmmzz... quite a pattern] of the last century it was brought to those countries, because of a possible German invasion.
According to James G. Rickards the gold in New York is not necessarily 100 percent safe. As confidence in the dollar would completely disappear, the U.S. government could take foreign gold, as he describes in his latest book (http://www.currencywarsbook.com/)."
This is why these days questions are being asked in the dutch parliament about the dutch gold. But a spokesperson of the De Nederlandse Bank assures that there are enough guarantees that the gold remains Dutch property.
I guess this is not the last we will hear in Holland about Dutch Gold... I will keep you posted in case things get more interesting. :)
