Thanks for sharing that. What a wonderful story! I wonder if something in a brain balance is not lined up and causes all this? I really wonder if kids are born retarded or somehow just when born their brain is just not in harmony somehow.
I see something awhile back and the person said the pyramids of the earth provided people with balance, mentally also, and this person claimed in teh ancients site people would take the mentally ill and they would be helped- tuned in with their correct mental balance.
I would like modern man to explore more alternative methods in dealing with these kinds of people..seem 9/10 times their old conventional ways dont get results.

From what I know, most kids with behavioral problems, ADHD, Comulsive disorders, autistic problems etc. are not born with it (except for some forms of retardation that may be genetic of muscular dystrophy for example that is a genetic mutation). The brain and body can be rewired, at least in parts. I am sure these parents had tried much, hopefully they had tried biochemistry rebalancing as well. I am pretty sure accidental happenings and environmental poisoning and/or lower process in cleaning up the environmnetal hazards are playing a key role in these differences amongst kids.

Most of them are someone interesting inside, they just cannot pull it out of their body (for autism). For ADHD, they will also tell you that they do not want to behave that way, but can't stop it (we now know that ADHD has something do do with dopamine in the brain).

Markpierre, Because when they can speak and express themselves, they tell you they do not feel good about their suffering. It is to help others who suffer. If they were happy and wanted to be that way, then go with it. This is usually not the case.

Sorry flash, you misinterpreted the offering. "go with it?" Go with what?
That's okay. It wasn't a concept that was asking for correction. I can't think of another way to express it, so leave it there. My entire life has been service to suffering so lets not confuse what there is to be understood about suffering.

My last partner was dedicated to teaching adult autistics how to express themselves in their individual ways. Every one of them was an entirely different complexity and every method was completely personal. But the joy of someone kept in isolation, discovering the ability to express something as fundamental as when they need to be toileted, was worth all of the trials of attempting to promote her ideas and methods through a system that didn't care and wouldn't support her. It eventually used her up. That's okay, she's on to more brilliant work and bigger playing fields.

But I'm certain because I went to bed with her every night and woke up with her every morning, that she was changed more by the experience than anyone else was. Who they were changed her. How the 'conformed' world rejected who they were changed her.
It's our misunderstanding and laziness that keeps them in isolation. This is a terrific and inspiring video, but it's not a revelation. Fixing the problem has a lot to with finding the root of the problem.

Alright Markpierre, now I follow better your meanings. English is my second language learned at a later age, so lets be patient here. I may have misunderstood your first post.

I meant exactly what your friend had done, without support, for her classroom of students, like lots of parents of children with difficulties would try to do in order for their child to lead a "regular" life in this world.. And yes, with not much support and lots of time/financial investments. But they could not abandon their child to a gruesome live in, and thanks to, this actual society.

What I wanted to say is that treatments exists, taking into account that each case is different and treatments (that are usually not cures, but treatments for improvements) does benefit the child. The alternative health media is full of them. And yes, working/living with these children changes the ones working with them quite substantially. We become much more aware of society biases and lack of tolerance, oneself limits, but mostly, this shows us the path of tolerance and mostly unconditional love.

The "go for it" in my comments was for those children that are happy as they are, do not seem to want any change and seem to function basically ok as they are. Then why impose some treatments on them (ex: Asperger autism are often quite fine and feel good about themselves).

My partners experience unfortunately wasn't in the context of a classroom which would be an interesting idea if it were possible. We may be able to do things that way, but not in this paradigm.

But individual adult clients who were basically left with this organization every day because their needs were beyond the guardians and parents abilities to meet.
An extremely sad situation.

These were certified mental health practitioners who's idea of 'care' was to force a client to sit quietly on a couch, while the carer read the paper or passed the time online.
That's a characterization, but a fairly common one. It's not to alienate well meaning practitioners because they will all know of what that reference is.

But she would say that without exception, these clients all would have some special talent, and hence an inboard venue to communicate. Consciousness doesn't disappear or stop functioning because no one is listening.
The listening is our responsibility.

Group outings and activities were organized etc, one size fits all, to mean something or other, but only to the staff and management and whoever they were accountable to.
This was a government supported/private program, and so the appearances of value and achievement was about career advancement and funding, and not about the well being of clients.

Unfortunately this is commonly the kind of 'environment' and general consciousness that an autistic person is asked to 'relate' to. Misunderstood from birth.
But notice how these families change, and how their experiences in this superficial world deepen. And when a breakthrough occurs in anyone, the whole world of that particular sphere of influence changes.

I've had a lot of good teachers. Not one of them ever let me opt out of a lesson, regardless of how tough the lesson was.

DNA, thank you for posting this extremely interesting video interview of Laura Hirsch by Coast to Coast. Laura gives information about the most recent rash of causes of autism in children starting in 1996. This is simply mind-boggling. The future generations are being poisoned...through the food we eat. She speaks of the weaponizing of diseases and these children being mis-diagnosed with Autism when they are really contaminated.

Honestly, everyone should listen to this series which I am posting.
