If they knew where that fashion trend had 'started' (which was in the prisons) then I don't think they would be so eager to participate in it.

What if they had to run away from something really fast? Are those pants meant to level the odds?
Guys with guns have to shorten their legs to half the speed of a bullet.
Otherwise it's not fair.

Have you ever seen the Cop show? the bad guys running while trying to hold up their pants? dropping all the goods they were trying to take.

What's wrong with you? It's cool ,it's hip, it's fashion........seriously to me it look's stupid. What's really messed up is when you see people who have their pants starched and "hanging low".
Thug life is what I wanna be
it's the in thing for you me
pants hanging so close to the ground
makes people think I'm some sorta clown.......

They know...What you see here is traditional counterculture behavior. The kids that survive this rite of passage will become the next generation of Awake and Aware. Doncha' know...

I am not seeing any pictures on the OP that would account for all the comments.
It sounds like there was a picture of a young person wearing outlandishly large pants.
But it seems to have been deleted.
In any case, I once asked a young woman what the point was to that particular fashion statement, and she said it was because some young people didn't like other people looking at their asses.
So it had something to do with modesty and being objectified.
And there is certainly a huge amount of objectification going on in Western culture, especially, so I thought it was perfectly understandable.
Of course, that might just be the Grandmother in me speaking...:crutch:
