Yep, I have had this happen, it is a totally separate voice-as you say very clear-got to be careful with whom you discuss this
because folks are quick to say: Schitzoid delusion. I had an even stranger event couple of weeks back-lying in the dark next to my wife, who was asleep
when this luminescent purple structure appeared, I looked into it and was able to make out hazy but distinct heads, I had the idea it was an internal
vista of a craft, this just occurred to me..I was able to move my arm through it, was wide awake-there were rows of heads and faces, not human faces.
I have been looking out for a repeat of this, but nothing so-far; strangest thing that has happened to me in recent years; I had the feeling there was a consciousness directing this
to me, a telepathic projection? Believe me, i am a practical, rational man, imaginitive and creative maybe..but this actually happened.

Never heard voices going to sleep, but heard a childs voice once, as I was waking, calling my name, right in my left ear; made me jump about a foot in the air. I put it down to imagination, but I had just been having a dream about meeting some ghost children, which was quite freaky, how real are dreams? GalaxyHorse, wow! that was wierd!

Yes, after I'd been on retreat meditating solidly, I heard my name repeating everywhere. And saw everything pulsating. i took it that my name is part of the energy pattern of the structure we are in, and I had gotten in tune with it and suddenly heard it. They say the best mantra you can use is your own name..

Interesting thread! I actually heard something last week, not my name being called though, I heard a voice saying 'One morning in time, I will be here waiting for you' then I heard the word 'Soon'. Really starting to dislike the word 'Soon'. I am always hearing it or reading it.
I just realized the other part of my post wasn't here....
I hear my name being called often... sometimes as I fall asleep and while meditating. Its a familiar voice and I want to hear more. Its like the voice wants to talk to me.

weird.... this actually happened to me last night, not while falling asleep though. I was listening to music around 7pm & I heard my name getting called, it was very clear & it was above the volume of the music. so I went downstairs to see why my mum shouted & she said she had not shouted.
I am unsure as to what it could be.

One morning about 5yrs ago i was lying in bed when i heard my name very clearly.
I was alone in he house at the time. I just layed there stunned and a little scared.
To tell the truth my cat was in the room at the time and for a moment i wondered wether it was the cat trying to talk to me,
but obviously cats can't talk.:)

I had the same, but it has been a couple of years since it happened. Before then, it had happened to me previously a few times. The voice sounded as if it were right in my ear, but it had a radio-like quality to it. It startled me also.

AHHH this happens to me weekly.
I wake up to hear a young womens voice calling me, i know i know her.
She has a soothing voice and i always feel sad when i hear it, like i have lost something, sometimes i might hear some music too.
But that is quite rare but i have even given this voice a name, it just feels right to name her, because i know her.
Does anyone else get this vibe form there experience?

yes, clearly. I have gotten used to this now. My meditation is walking. I turn around to see who is calling and clearly there is no-one around for miles. I just accept....
I do sometimes hear bells at night. Right inside my head. Does anyone else? This wakes me up. I have to say, makes me think I am being pulled into the next "programme", so to speak.
Nothing is frightening; just interesting. And puzzling? oh yes, that too.....

I use to here my name being Called while fully awake walking around and what not, it would always be my mothers voice as well, and when I would here it naturally I would search for my mother and 9 times out of ten it was not her that called.

When I had my experience, the voice did have the quality of someone who knew me. When I heard it, it was a bit stark, like they were yelling my name to alert me to something or to awaken me, there was a bit of urgency to the tone and also, familiarity. It was a woman's voice.

Too synchronystic not to comment on...
I have had this happen as well. Or a voice just saying "Hello".
Clearly something external to my own thoughts,
as if it's someone else, speaking directly to my mind.
It doesn't always sound very calm though.
Sometimes there is a sense of alarm and urgency to it,
or as if great effort was exerted in order for it to become 'audible'.
I respond, but usually no further 'conversation' ensues.
It doesn't seem to require a quietted mind.
It comes right through the stream of regular thoughts and internal chatter,
from off to the side somewhere.
I think it might have to do with dream-state information.
When it happens, I usually am half asleep,
but I've seen some dreamagery come through when I was awake as well.
A high intensity data-stream for the waking mind.
There is a different, yet seemingly related effect:
Last night and on a few other occasions as well, I am awoken by the sound of my doorbell ringing. I look out of the window to see who is there, but it's the middle of the night, so thankfully there is no one.
Sometimes, instead of the doorbell, it is the smell of food (burning), when there is none of that in the 'real' world.
When it happened last night, I was almost certain that it was for the purpose of waking me up, in order to remember the dream I had just had, which was quite amazing. I went over it in my head before falling asleep again, but in the morning I'd forgotten most of it anyway.
The reason I had forgotten though, was because the last dream of the night was so amazing that I focused mostly on that one.
It was about a muddy village in the 1800's somewhere. I didn't know any or most of the people that were in it from real life, yet in the dream I knew who all these people were, complete with family histories, possible future paths and so on. (A young Leonardo DiCaprio type guy was most likely going to go to war as a reporter and come back a wounded, wisened man. He was intrigued by cameras. In the 1800s?)
There was even a song, sung in honor of a widow who had just died. I remembered the lyrics "She was sweeter than bitter, man", which was a reference to the rich guy in town, Bitterman, who was the secret father of her illegitimate child.
After waking up, I could still sing the song.
The level of detail throughout was just incredible.
Pardon the digression.
The same type of voice phenomenon once came through with a specific date and place. This had never happened before or since. I followed up on this and synchronistically something that seemed beautiful came from it.
Later it turned out to have been quite poisonous, from the outset. This has made me slightly distrustful of this type of voice phenomenon.
Though I suppose I learned many lessons from this episode.
So I am still very intrigued and curious about it, but cautious too.
More and more 'strange' things seem to be happening that I find not so strange at all. Like unexpectedly meeting a friend I 'knew' I was going to meet.
And I'm not (exceptionally) psychic, at all.
I think the increase in this type of phenomena, the voice, the detailed dream recall, might have to do with a general rise in synchronystic events.
Is this part of the 'convergence' or the new energies sweeping over the Earth? The veil thinning? 2012?
So many new messages, there were only two when I got here.
The mother's voice. This one is familiar to me too.
Anyone here listen to David Bowie's Diamond Dogs (at 3:31 min)? That's when I first heard it.
Judging by the many similarities, this voice and ringing, is an actual thing and not just imagination.

Maybe the female element is the counter to the male and visa versa?
Or perhaps it just is that way due to a womens voice being more passive and calm?
I have heard it in the middle of the day but not so pronounced.

There's no telling. This has just been a curiosity to me, another strange thing that happened and that I generally wouldn't tell anybody about. But then, there are places like this, and folks like y'all ... in all honesty, because of the radio-like quality, I got the impression at the time that it was some sort of technology, rather than an organic thing. It barged in on my pre-sleep state meanderings like someone putting a megaphone next to my ear and shouting my name, it was that loud in my head and insistent.

This has been happening to me and family members all our lives. We all just totally accept it as a sending and receiving to each other. Lately a couple of us (I am from a large family) have begun receiving 'calls' from people outside the family. Even just last week I was supposed to get a phone call one evening from a sister who wanted me to help with some work the next day, but she was tired and forgot to ring. That same night I heard her literally shout my name just as I was dropping off to sleep. The next day I asked her and she said yes, she had realised as she was dropping off to sleep that she'd forgotten to ring, and I'd heard her at that moment. I've also had a completely telepathic short conversation with another sister. We laughed our heads off when we realised neither of us had opened our mouths.
So yeah, I believe it's a telepathic sending and receiving. I love it.

I've heard my name called by my family members, both times were in the day. Very loud and very clear. I have had to call them on the phone to check and see if they were alright.
Has anyone ever heard their name called by their own voice?

Hi solosthere, Just re-read your post and wanted to say not to worry about this - I think it's a good thing and you are beginning to receive thoughts. Nothing scary about it. It's always clear as a bell and I always know the 'caller' and usually just greet them straight back. Lately I've been picking up calls from people I may only have met once or twice however, which is interesting.
I wonder if you actually know the woman whose voice you heard? Sometimes it can take a while as you sift through the people you know to see who the voice fits and generally, in my experience anyway, it turns out to be someone you know, or at least have met. I usually contact the person next day if the nighttime calling of my name sounds distressed - just to make sure they're ok.

I too have heard my name called just before falling to sleep. Sometimes it is a whisper and other times it is louder. It seems to always be a woman. In my old home in Florida, I heard my name whispered loudly into my ear while I laid on my side in bed. I could feel a presence laying next to me. Then I felt a someone touching me on my lower back where my shirt had lifted. This startled me and I immediately got up and left the room. Of course no one was there. I wanted to know more about the male and female presence I was experiencing in my room. At times I would feel someone staring at me (male energy) and others would be voices (female). I was not afraid as I never got any negative feelings. It was common for me to find a book I placed on my nightstand the night before only to see that it was not there but on my dresser across the room. My brother also experienced his name being called from my room on several occasions while he was getting ready for school. I was curious to find out if someone else would experience anything if they knew nothing about the room. So I had my friend and his girlfriend who were visiting from out of town stay with me. I let them use my bedroom. The next day they told me without me asking anything that they heard voices. My friends girlfriend stated that she felt like someone was staring at her from behind while she combed her hair while getting ready. I finally mediated to find out what was going on. In the mediation I learned that I opened a door with all of my crystals and meditations that I would do. My intentions were to never crack open a door and have been always for love and positive energy. I was also informed that I was becoming unbalance and that I needed to be more in touch with my spiritual self. I still here voices at times but not as prevalent as my old bedroom.

It's amazing that this thread is here because just this very morning I awoke from a deep sleep right before the alarm went off, by a voice in my head calling my name. It was so loud that I sat up wide awake. And then, I heard it a second time. Then the alarm went off. This voice was so clear. I had been dreaming about friends from my past who I saw clearly. Could it have been these friends calling me from the great beyond?

One morning some years back, just as I was waking up, still somewhat in a slumber, I heard a voice saying "Hallå hallå" (Hello hello) as clear as can be, much like some others have reported, I was quite startled and wide awake after the words had been spoken ... well, being startled tends to do that to you I suppose. It was as if someone was saying the words right next to my ear.
A little side not: when I used to use alarms for waking up I consistently woke about 5 minutes before the alarm sounded, which was nice since its generally not very nice being awakened by an alarm. ^_^

I hear my mother's voice, it is used to warn me of something, or more properly, to alert me to the fact my full attention is required. My mother visited me in my sleep at the exact time she died, and I have heard her voice ever since. Yes it often happens in those moments when the conscious mind is less in control (ie prelude to sleep, meditation, etc).
I see it as a call to focus, to see clearly, to be aware, and so, not a bad thing.

I love hearing that so many of you have experienced this as well! When I hear the long, "HOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy" :), it almost seems to be coming from a great distance and echoing after me. I always jump and, either just in my mind or aloud, ask, "If you need something or have a message, please tell me now what it is." And like a few of you other posters, I don't get a response. I couldn't tell you the first time I experienced this, but I know it was during my childhood, before the age of ten. It probably happens once every three or four months or so, and I remember it ALWAYS happening. How long has it been happening for all of you? Or is it relatively new? <3

This is a very interesting thread! I remember when I was young I heard someone (man) call my name but it was like long and drawn out. Kinda spooky actually. Never did know where it came from and other people heard it as well.
The most unusual thing that has ever happened to me though happened back on April 30th, 2011. I was in bed asleep and my husband was up playing Pogo in the living room. All of a sudden this really stern voice (man) said "Your mother is dying, do not take it personal" ... I shot out of that bed! It was as if the voice was right there in the room. So I looked in the living room and there sat my husband playing his game. I said "Did you say something" He answered no. So I told him what I heard and I was physically shaken by it. He kept telling me to call my parents. I waited until after 7am to call and both were up and fine.
So early in the morning on May 8th I get a call from the ER. My mom is sick and they have taken her in for some tests and x-rays. I told my Dad I was going to shower and I'd be up as fast as I could. We live 85 miles south of them. When I finished with all that and was ready I called my Dad's cell phone. My Mom answered. She was crying. The x-rays of her chest had come back and there was no doubt about what was wrong. She had a tumor the size of your fist and it had what I'm going to call arms shooting out from all over. It was on her lung, heart and one of the little arms was growing through the main artery. My mother had stage 4 lung cancer with 6-8 months to live. I fell to my knees. All I could think about on the way up was that voice and what did he mean "don't take it personal"
My Mom went on Hospice. She declined chemo and radiation because it would only buy her a couple months and she didn't want to spend her remaining days being any sicker than she was going to be. We respected that only because there was no hope. We almost lost her when they did the biopsy.
They brought in this huge oxygen tank and other things to the house. Hospice came in around the 3rd month. Mom was on some really high powered drugs. She saw things that weren't even there. It was so scary for me when this would happen and I can't imagine how scary for her. She started saying things that would hurt my feelings and I would go to another room and cry. Two of the Hospice ladies came in one day and put their arms around me and said "Don't take it personal" it's the drugs. I was like Oh my God, this is what that voice must have been talking about. My Mom and I were really close. We talked 2 or 3 times a day everyday all my grown up life. She was my best friend. I stayed with my parents 5 out of 7 days every week for 8 months. I was there when she passed on. Her goal was to make it to Christmas (she loved Christmas) and she did. Christmas evening she told us she was ready to go. She passed away in the early morning hours of Dec 30th.
I really think that the mans voice I heard came to me to prepare me for what was to come. His voice was stern, precise and very clear. Was he my angel? Was he God? I don't have the answer but I do know he came for a reason. One I didn't like but apparently one that was necessary.

Hi solosthere,
Wow ... you're not the only one then! When you mentioned it to me in the context of astral projection I wondered if it might only be associated with that, but look at all these people who experience the same thing!
Like so many posters here, the voice I've occasionally heard while drifting off is a woman's too, and has the same crisp, very close quality. I haven't recognised the voice, and wondered if it might be something to do with the Jungian 'anima'. I've also wondered if it was a girlfriend or my Mum thinking about me just when I'm in that pre-sleep, pre-astral state. Still don't know! But it's never felt negative or threatening ... just alarmingly close and clear.
Two nights ago I experienced something odd in that pre-sleep state, and it was someone waving a hand very insistently right in my face. It was alarming, and annoying, and I've never had that before. Really distinctive and unmistakable. It happened several times, quite freaking me out, until I angrily told whoever or whatever it was that I was trying to sleep! The next day I honestly wondered about pie'n'eal's 'astral travel' thread, and whether someone experimenting had even tried to say hello! Haha, I guess if I'd heard "Borden" in my ear too that would have clinched it!
Best wishes,
Borden

This has happened to me a lot! Sometimes in the morning when getting up and sometimes while wide awake late at night.
I live alone and in the middle of a large field so there is no mistaking it when it happens. The soft voice that says hello or calls my name from a distance is fine and I consider it a little reminder that I am never truly alone...
There have been quite a few times when just as I close my eyes to go to sleep i hear a yell or a scream... The best way to describe it is what you would expect a father to sound like if he saw his child running for a busy street. A guttural howl with a tremendous amount of energy. It is startling when it happens. I do not feel fear, but it does make me take a second look at my interactions for that day and consider why i would receive such a message.
Glad to know I'm not alone in this.

And then I got a headache.

I have never had a headache associated with my "yelling" voice. However, it wouldn't surprise me at all if it was directly related?
To be honest I have no clue? I'm sure that others here will have more to say...

I experienced this while in a state of deep relaxation..a woman's voice, very clear and calming....
It was regarding work..my contract had ended and i was deeply worried that it would not be renewed..she told me it would be renewed, that i would be getting a raise, along with a specific amount..
I went back to work and got the renewal and the exact amount of pay the voice indicated to me...
to me the voice felt like an angel..it was so pristine and calming....

I'm bumping this thread because we have had new people join since the beginning of this year.
The voice that woke me up on the 26th of January was a woman's voice and I did not recognize this voice. It/she woke me up and once fully awake, it/she called me again. Both times, she used my first name in the form of my nickname.
Does anyone else have a similar story? This is really an interesting thread!

had similar experience, i was woken rudely by a face towering over mine, i absolutely shat myself with fear and sat up trying to think what the hell happened, there was nothing around apart from my friend at the time who was sleeping while this was happening, i've had my foot tugged and the spirit talking to me too i was embarrassed becasue my friends thought i was talking to myself! thankfully i have never had to go back to that apartment again.

Same for me. A deep male voice suddenly shouting my name: Lii-m-o-r! happens every couple of month day and night time.
Also a new phenomana for me ,started about a year ago : when I wake-up or right before I drift to sleep, I open my eyes and there are faces looking at me. it happens quite a lot. I have started to document it. it can be a one face , a group of people looking at me, or in one case, about a month ago, I could see the whole body. I am never afraid, I feel cared about and no risk whatsoever, I am thinking it might be deceased souls. since I am getting used to it, I thank them for their caring, and tell them how I appreciate this kind of contact. The veil must be thinning.
I am reluctant to write about it here, but honestly, The age of concealment is over, so, I am glad we can all think it out together.

What's really baking my noodle is I just saw this thread and went to the OP to press thanks and I have already done so in January apparently. Certainly don't remember ever doing that.
But yes, I hear the voice just before sleeping too.

I notice a lot of left ear references. Myself included, I wonder if there is something to that.
Left ear downloads right ear uploads, or so I've heard (excuse the pun) in both ears!:p
Stan
BTW I too have experienced this in my left ear.

Nah, heard it on the matrix when Neo is talking to the Oracle. The jargon dictionary is a cool idea :)

It will blow your mind away. That's a good way to remove the mind ( mind you ), we can really bake this noodle together, and have the first successful earthly Avalon international jargon - volume one.

as a child voices would call my name to come out to the woods at night. My all-mighty blankets i hid under, for the voices then coudln't see me. AT night now in one house i stay at my right ear when i lay down feels like tentacles trying to penetrate it. I pull the nothingnes out of my ear, and it tries again, then, i send little nano thunder24's to block the ear from whatever is trying to get in.

This is a little different but thought it worth sharing anyway. My husband, stepson, daughter and I were taking our boat down the coast of California to San Diego and I kept hearing my name called one morning. I didn't want to get up but finally couldn't ignore it anymore and got up and went topside to see what my husband wanted. I opened the hatch and he excitedly told me a large pod of dolphins had just shown up and were swimming all around the boat BUT no one had called my name. I heard my name very clearly and repeatedly so I was very happily surprised as I had been wanting to see them.

Spiritwind - that is wonderful! Have you considered a swim with dolphins? You can "send" to them :)
