Interesting video and article. The video, from late last year, shows actual, reconstructed images from a brain while showing the vid clip the subject was looking at at the time. The article, posted a few days ago, deals with other brain phenomenon. So they can see and hear what is going on in somebody's head. Nice, eh?

One thing I found interesting is that the image that people see in their minds, at least in this clip, is not the same as what is seen on the screen. Perhaps the subject was preoccupied and thinking of something else at the time, perhaps there is a loss in translation between the eye and the brain. Whatever the case, very interesting research and development.

While many people often wish they could hear what people around them are thinking, telepathic skills are often written off as science fiction. But one day, the ability to read people’s minds may not be a talent only reserved to psychics and X-Men.

A group of neuroscientists at the University of California, Berkeley, reported they may have come up with a scientific way to read people’s minds.

Led by post-doctoral researcher Brian Pasley, the scientists have developed a method for deciphering the electrical signals in a person’s brain as they listen to words or conversation. Upon figuring out these signals, they were then able to use them to recreate the imagined speech of the same person.

The secret to their method lies in the temporal lobe of the brain, which is used in auditory perception. When a person hears a word or phrase being spoken, the activity that occurs in the temporal lobe also occurs when the person imagines that same word or phrase.

“This is a fundamental principle of the brain,” Robert Knight, a senior author for the study and a neuroscientist at UC Berkley, told FoxNews.com. “The area that performs a cognitive or behavioral function is also activated when you imagine that function. For example, let’s say you raise your right arm. Then if you imagine raising your right arm, the same areas that were active when you move your arm are working when you imagine it.”

In order to gather their findings, the researchers asked epilepsy patients undergoing brain surgery if they’d like to participate in research while they were in the hospital. Before these patients had their surgeries, they had to come to the hospital, have up to 256 electrodes placed over the surface of their brain, and then wait for a seizure to occur so the doctors could pin point the location of the seizure.

Sometimes this process takes a couple hours, but sometimes it can take weeks. So Pasley and his team utilized 15 neurosurgical patients’ extra time in the hospital while they were connected to the electrodes, having them hear 5 – 10 conversations.

Pasley then developed a way to reconstruct words using data from a person’s brain activity. Or in other words-reconstructing the words that people were thinking.

“He developed mathematical ways to match the electrical recordings from the electrodes in the brain to the sound characteristics that the patient heard,” Knight said. “The algorithms he developed can now predict a word the patient’s never heard before.”

While the researchers have barely scratched the surface of this new technique, they hope they have set the gears in motion for engineers to develop better communication aides for those who have been severely disabled, either from stroke or other illnesses.

“If you had a device that was safely implantable and actually helped the patient, there’s no doubt it would be used,” Knight said. “It could be used for someone with a speech problem, such as a severe muscular control problem like ALS or Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Or maybe someone who has a damage in the part of the brain that controls speech output, but their input area is intact.”
More importantly, Knight said their research is important for simply understanding how the brain works.

“Think of the number of things you do in a day cognitively - word understanding or motor control or how you’re paying attention to something. We don’t really know a lot about how the brain works in supporting the things you’re doing right now,” Knight said. “If we can figure those things out, it will have huge implications for understanding normal cognition and it will have important implications for a whole host of psychiatric disorders.”

But in terms of becoming a mind reader, Knight said people won’t be eavesdropping on peoples’ inner monologues any time soon. Unless they plan on getting surgery.

“You can’t broadcast your thoughts unless there’s an electrode there,” Knight said. “So if you have a significant other, you can implant them and potentially hear what they’re thinking.”

“Of course it would require a neurosurgeon, so I don’t think that trend will sweep the nation,” Knight jokingly added.

Knight, Pasley and their colleagues published their findings Tuesday in the open-access journal PLos Biology.

Hi Rahkyt,

This is very interesting work. The work described here is what has often been discussed by those like David Icke. These are the techniques used by the Illuminati to control the masses. We are told to sleep walk through our lives by them using these technologies that have been know and used for some time.

I myself am a very telepathic person. I was taught to use my abilities as a very young child when my native american grandfather taught me to communicate with the animals on his farm. I use to notice that he could call an animal out of the acres behind his farm with a thought and I use to be amazed when they came. I asked him when I was young, (before starting first grade), to teach me to do this. He told me that you had to hold a picture of the animal in your mind and then basically project an emotional intent to the animal of what you wanted them to do. We practiced this regularly. Then when I became better at this with the animals I noticed that I could feel and sometimes “know” what the people around me are thinking. I used to freak my classmates out on the playground when I practiced reading their minds. Of course because of the ridicule and distancing that I received from doing this in elementary school I stopped. I was even told by one Sunday school teacher that this was the work of the devil, when I told her not to worry about something that I perceived that she was preoccuped with that was going on at home during our lessons.

The brain of any person can be trained to be telepathic and as in my case the earlier the better. This is one of the abilities that is innate to the human being that has been conditioned out of us by the PTB.

I ignored this ability for most of my adult life and only in about the past 10 years have I begun to re-examine my abilities. I work in healthcare and I found when I began working in the Emergency room and trauma patients were coming in who were unable to communicate that I began being able to sense what they were feeling and wanting to say. I would then consciously practice “feeling/empathizing” during regular patient assessments and began to notice that I could feel what was really going on with a patient versus what they were telling me. I would often find that by asking “out of the blue questions” that I could get a patient to break down and tell me the truth about what was going on in there situations.

Recently, maybe it is due to the new energies entering at this time, I am able to perceive actual thoughts. Just yesterday I was at work doing routine work at a computer and I thought I heard the person next to me say “I need a stapler”. There was one siting next to me so I handed it to her. She then asked me how did I know they needed a stapler? I told them because you asked for it. They told me that they never said anything, that they had just been thinking it. We both thought this was very weird. I told her that I specifically heard her say the words, “I need a stapler.”

So maybe this new energy coming in will be giving the human species this ability again. This would probably greatly worry the PTB. Imagine if we could all together at the same time project the intention, “that we are mad as hell and are not going to take it anymore”. We could blow up their mind control devices and change the course of things in one day.

Hi there, Amesynthia, nice to meet you. Thank you for your thoughtful post and for sharing your life experience. I posted these articles with the full understanding that this technology has probably been around for quite some time. The decision to bolster its deployment in public has to be advanced very specifically by introducing it to the mainstream science community and then to the public at large. We are now at that point.

I would not be surprised to see these things begin to be used by TSA. Or by police departments. Traditional Lie Detection? Out the window. They have something better now. They will actually be able to see what you are thinking when they ask you questions. You have to be pretty damn good to hide your thoughts from yourself when someone else is sitting in front of you watching the words and images pass through your brain on a computer screen.

The new energies do indeed seem to be allowing more people to come into a new awareness of their potentiality. More will continue to do so. To keep up and keep as many from doing so as possible, much of what we consider the control matrix continues to physically repress abilities and the will to awaken. But I think those who will, will awaken. Those whose time has not yet come and who must complete another cycle of incarnation, that's fine too.

The science of these presentations (article and video) is beyond argumentation by any but the most die-hard of skeptics, imho. For those who have not been aware of what has been going on now for quite a long, long, time, they are in for a very rude awakening, very soon.

I agree with you Rahkyt. Thanks for the great thread that may get people who aren't sure thinking about this!
