"Feb 3 2012 Bank of America Lakeport, Ca. I attempted to make a cash payment on our mortgage, the manager refused to take the cash saying it was against bank policy.

I was shocked, had no idea this would happen, since when does a bank not accept cash... Right! When I protested, the manager called the Lakeport poilce dept. After being detained for about 1/2 hour and nearly arrested for shooting video inside the bank the cops decided to let me go.

The BofA manager made a complaint against me and had the cops inform me that I am "no longer welcome inside the Lakeport branch of Bank of America." Also that if I "ever attempted to enter the branch again I WILL be arrested!"
So apparently Bank of America DOES NOT accept American cash dollars as a form of payment on mortgages in AMERICA!

PROTEST & YOU WILL BE ARRESTED!"

5FPAYqU5Pj0

"Also tried to on Feb 3, 2012 to get BofA to endorse a check from Farmers Insurance (roof damage back in March of 2011) because BofA is listed as co-signers, but again the manager refused. Cops we're called, I was asked to wait outside of the bank (while the manager called HQ about the Farmers check) which I did."

RD6PHb1LOCA

"So I'm waiting OUTSIDE BofA & 2 Lakeport police cruisers and an unmarked arrived, detained me for about 1/2 an hour, said I was being investigated for "shooting video inside the bank." "Casing the bank" they said, to rob it later!?! RIGHT... I walk in there with $1400. BofA refuses to take and I'm gonna try robing them??? Stupid cops doin' stupid work, got it all on video!"

WHg6j7-yTOs

"So apparently in AMERICA, Bank of America WILL NOT accept U.S. cash dollars for payment of mortgage debt. They've also refused to counter sign a Farmers Insurance check (roof damage sustain on our home back in March OF LAST YEAR) now telling me that because it over 10k I'm to mail it to them and they'll pay a contractor to come fix our roof. Anyone following us for very long knows that we've already fixed our roof with cash out of our pockets. We've uploaded many videos about this in the past both here on YouTube and on our fb page: https://www.facebook.com/RobAnaVsBofA Thanks for viewing this set of videos, hope ya'll have enjoyed them, I did get a little upset inside the BofA branch just couldn't believe my ears. WHAT AMERICAN BANK REFUSES TO TAKE AMERICAN U.S. DOLLARS... BANK OF AMERICA!"

So, maybe this means that the mortgage is free now since they don't want to accept real money....
I'd also say to everyone who uses this bank -- Dump Bank of America as soon as possible. They're not worth doing any kind of business with. They're crooks. If you keep them, then you deserve whatever happens to you.
I dumped them several years ago, along with Chase Bank and have had no problems since. Credit Unions are just a tiny step above banks, but I'd rather use them until I see that they're not worth it either....

BTW does anyone realize that when a mortgage company/bank sells your mortgage to another bank, that the loan was paid off? People don't realize that when the other bank takes on the debt, it releases you from the debt... Huh, isn't that a kicker?

Most places of business do not accept large cash payments and want something else preferably some type of electronic form of payment.
That being said, it is a bank. I suppose if the person wishing to make a mortgage payment had a bank account with bank of america, some kind of arrangement could have been made, but if they were only holding your mortgage, then maybe not.

Hello!

Here we go people! The end of the old system. Proof that we are now in an irreversable situation. The old monetary and indeed social paradigm has collapsed and now like dominoes we are waiting for the last pieces to fall before we can create a just and fair system that incorporates every man, woman and child in the world. I wouldn't be worried about those videos, but filled with inspiration!

Those money crooks had better have their bags packed and a one way ticket out of this galaxy!

Love to you all!

Jubjub.

I'd like to share some of my experiences with some banks that I have been in Croatia.
Few days ago, I needed change for my store, so I went to the bank since no stores around had any. So I enter the bank, greet my friend that works there behind the counter and asked her to change me some money. (large bills into small ones)
No here comes the interested part, she said that they got an order from the top that they can't change money anymore, not to regular people or anyone who has even an account, and I said you know that I have an account here, so I don't see whats the problem. She said that this orders were new and she also noted that it was strange.
Anyway, since I din't get any change I went to another bank and asked the same thing, but this time guy asked me if I had an account here, because if I don't then they can't give me change or anything regarding money.
I left with a big question mark above my head and with no change to work with.

Somethings fishy is going on but it ain't fish.

Then go to the sites you want to take it viral, and comment, write the link to youtube, and send/comoment. It's really the best way with the networking to allow the people to see what you see, and they make up their own mind.

A couple of things come to mind here.

First, California is its own world and it is hopeless to try and understand what is going on there.

Second you could have deposited the cash in your checking account and mailed them a check or e-payment even if you didn't bank with BofA. It may have been a PITA that the bank didn't want to take the cash, but was it really worth fighting about? it wasn't about making a payment, is was about making a point. We all know that you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.

Third, this is not what it is like in the rest of the country. I live in a small town that has a branch of one of the mega banks. I bought a new vehicle recently. The dealer gave me the vehicle, no ID needed, and told me to go do whatever and come back in when I was ready. I went over to the bank, walked in got cash, no questions asked, and with a "thank you sir, is there anything else that you need?" Ran a few errands, dropped by the dealership, did the paperwork in about 5 minutes and left with my new vehicle. It's the kind of place where you have a cup of cofee leaning against the counter with a police officer and talk about the weather, not a place where you are afraid that you are going to be tased for walking your dog.

In California, at a branch of the same bank, I had to do thumbprints to even make a deposit in person, couldn't put money into a joint account with my wife if she wasn't there, yada, yada, yada. In CA, you have to enter an pin number or billing zip code just to get gas.

Unfortunately it's a vicious circle, the Banks, Police, authorities, whatever... have the measures in place that they do because it seems like every third person in CA is doing something shady. This makes people less trustful of authority, and then they try even harder to game the system., and the system puts even more measures in place that seem absurd to an honest person.

I would guess that there is a state law the restricts the use of cash for mortgage payments because it would be an easy way to launder money...or has something to do with another one of the crazy laws to try to make it difficult for illegal aliens to function.

Seriously, it's mostly just California.

In all honesty, this guy is shooting video about his and the bank's transactions inside the bank. Not exactly common practice, you think? Anyone filming with a video recorder that walks inside a business without their consent better get ready to be asked to leave. Do you want a teller to have your screen up with your Social Security number on it blasted on youtube? Not me. This guy can go to another bank, open up an account and probably get his checks cashed no problem. No, I don't work for a bank nor condone anything the bank does, it's just common sense.

The point is, this is AMERICA. Bank of AMERICA, that will not accept AMERICAN DOLLARS. That is the height of unacceptable. And you must be naive', caz what goes down in California, soon is followed by the rest of the country. A bank that won't take your cash, is as good as gone.

Kudos to the person smart enough to get this all on video.

Come on...the guy went in there to pick a fight, and we are only getting a PORTION OF ONE SIDE OF THE STORY. What is naive is to take that limited bit of information and extrapolate it to make a blanket statement.

I wasn´t going to comment on this thread, because I can´t find the words for it.

All I can say is that this is one of the most absurd, illogical, surreal and ridiculous things I´ve ever seen.

My advice to my fellows from the US is to try to listen closely, because the alarms are ringing louder and louder...

Banks can handle digital money and, in case of a major crisis, they will have some extra time to administer it.

Paper money is a different thing...Once the crisis come, it becomes useless instantly.

Anyway, there´s not need to say that what they are doing is against the law.

Cheers,

Raf.

And it’s just the beginning…you’ll see more injustices like this soon enough. I just wonder when the masses will realize they are cleverly having their rights and opportunities taken away from them. This vid is just a small indication of what’s to come. I’m starting to doubt that anyone/group will do anything about this. We as a species pretend to care for one another but are hesitant in stepping up when needed to. The truth is in their/our actions…not what they/we say. People are too condition to worry only about themselves….until the unfortunate scenarios become theirs....then thats when they want others to help them...typical.

When an American bank is not taking American money and people still go on with life as if it’s a small thing……well, IMHO there’s no clearer sign of being brain washed and disempowered. When we ignore issues like this...it leads me pondering if more than half the populace was cloned or turned into drones. You know this article will get swept under the rug while the always unimportant matters stay recieving the attention it doesn't deserve. These sought of things baffle me to no end. I just don’t get it. How do we let this happen?

Peace

I also have the misfortune of being a Bank of America (BofA) customer. I have so many stories of how horrible this bank is that they would fill a separtate forum.

As an example, last summer I made my mortgagte payment by transferring the funds from my BofA checking account to my BofA mortgage. The bank lost my payment and didn't bother to notify me for two months that I was behind on my payments. Needless to say, they did manage to report the late payments to the credit bureau and blimished what was otherwise a perfect credit rating. I contacted the bank and asked them to reverse the negatvie credit reporting. They asked me to send a fax explaining their mistake. I sent the fax and recieved a letter a few weeks later asking for more information and asking me to contact them. I called the provided number and was presented with several options that all lead to no human being. I tried overriding the options by dialing "0", "#0", "*0" but had no luck. Ultimately, in the end, I gave up.

I would leave BofA in a heartbeat; however, my mortgage is underwater so I'm unable to do so.

Well, I used to flip houses that I bought from banks and had as many as ten rentals at once before the US govt changed the banking regulations and put me out of business. So anyway heres how I see it, BOA Bank is NOT the same entity as BOA Mortgage, owned by the same company but not the same. BOA mortgage doc's state that you agree to mail your payment to a specific address when you sign them as this guy did at the closing. I am sure this is why the manager can not take the payment in cash OR check, as they cant process it there, they could sell him a money order but he would need his own stamp. This would also explain why the guy only put up small snips of video, to me it looks like he is misleading us here. Thats my opinion on it, and frankly I would love nothing more than to spank BOA, but only on the truth.

This is the answer from ex Banker -
"It is not strange !! Banks don't collect mortgage money. They have service companies that collect. That way, no money is collected on
a local basis. When lawsuits develop, the Big Banks shield themselves. People get the run around. It is about accountability.
People want your money paid on time but don't ask them to become responsible to explain it. Old ways of trust have evaporated.
Everything is homogenized. There are no people. Just screens and account numbers, then of course lawyers and their assistants,
who will 'get you,' when appropriate... They are predators."

Well everyone, I just heard from my girlfriends nephew a very interesting story after talking about this post.

A week and a half ago in his 9th grade World Geography class he was told by a banker (Guest Speaker) that there are now going to be certain banks that will no longer except cash and that they will have automatic (Robotic) tellers in the banks helping you to do your transactions, deposits, on a cashless basis they can actual give you money on a temporary card if it is not your bank.

I questioned him on two points. One Why in World Geography class. And What bank was this person from he could not answer.

Just thought I should share.

Kind Regards,

Kevin
