There is very little privacy left in the world - the article below is just another reminder of just how far things are going - when anyone can search your phone data whenever they want.

How to Track Cell Phone Records

Cell phone records are often used as evidence in criminal trials and to verify where a person was located when using their phone. Cell phone signals and GPS chips can help to pinpoint the exact location of the cell phone, and many cell phone providers maintain usage logs that can verify where the phone has been used. Law enforcement uses advanced technology to track and trace cell phones, but consumers can also gain access to basic cell phone record data with online search tools.

1
Register with Web-Investigations.com. This company provides access to cell phone records, people search records and other information that you can access by submitting the cell phone number to trace. You can set up a free account by submitting your name, address, e-mail address, date of birth and gender.

2
Trace calls with the Mobile Phone Spy. Download the Mobile Phone Spy tracker software program from SpyMasterTools.com to enable tracking for any of your cell phones. You will be able to view contacts lists, read text messages, view calls made/received and see photos stored in the phone after enabling the service.

3
Use the Cell Spy Pro suite to keep track of the cell phone. This program allows you to read all text messages, view calls made and calls received, and monitor contacts lists stored in the phone. Installation takes about 1-2 minutes and works on all devices that are Bluetooth enabled.

4
Use the Best Online Detective service to locate cell phone records and perform cell phone search queries. This online tool provides access to over 3 billion records; you can find out the cell phone owner's name, address, line carrier and phone records with the paid service.

Get rid of your cell phone. I never had one and I am surviving just fine. What do you need it for anyway? Communication among humans has not improved at all, despite the fact that humans are communicating with one another more than ever. It's a useless technology that will give you more headaches.

go get a 2nd hand brick of a phone, like one of these:

http://dpnow.com/images/archives/Nokia%206230.jpg

How to know if its the right kinda phone?

Can it video call? No
Can it access the web/facebook? No
Can it recieve high quality picture text? No
Is it thin and lightweight? Hell no
If you need to use the phone often should you use a headpiece (earphone and microphone connected via a wire to the phone)? Most Definately!

They'll still allways be able to track you're movements, you're telco provider will allways have logs and store them for 7 years, but unlike the Iphone and Android, they wont get the exact coordinates on where you go , they'll only be able to tell where you are via what tower you're phone is hooked up to - leaving a wide area and lots of guessing to get where you were exactly.

And they'll be able to go thru ur text and tell who you called, but again thats at the telco's end, you wont have any extra software reporting it to say the FBI with software that can only be considdered as a trojan/virus.

I for one, am proud of my Brick, and the fact im yelled at by everyone as i have a habbit of forgetting to take it with me :) I do wish i could be rid of it completely.

Got rid of my home phone as well as the only people that would call me were damn telemarketers!

ok- this kind of really gets my goat...

if we are demanding complete transparecy from government- doesn't that mean releasing your info to anyone that asks for it???

and by the same token ( other side of course) if you want your info kept private because its NOT EVERYBODY's business- why are you fussing about govt programs wanting the same privilege...

*you cant have it both ways- it wont work!!

The government is a group of people which the majority of the population "CHOOSE" to administer core things for the good of the whole community.

IE, roads, garbage removal, water and seweage, etc etc etc.

We are giving our money to them, in blind faith that they will take every cent and put it all to use in exactly what they say its going to be put into.

We also seem to need blind faith when it comes to accepting what the govt tells us what we're allowed to eat and drink, again this is meant to be for our wellbeing.

But have a look at it now xbusymom

can you realy say the govt should be allowed any kind of privacy on these matters?

They are making decisions for an entire population of people, we are not in the dark ages, poorly educated or unable to make edcuated decisions for ourselves, its because WE THE PEOPLE - wanted to delegate someone to look after a specific thing.

When it comes to an organisation thats doing things like this, on behalf of the population, they need to be completely out in the open so people can scrutanise and question the decisions that were made.

IF we were not scrutanising and questioning the decisions that are made - wanting to know why they were made - how are we to know what is going on and if the right choices are being made in the long run?

Yes, I liken it to a scenario much like this... if the master of estate (grandfather) dies without training the kin (father) in managing said estate, that leaves the butler (who has already been smoothly running all of grandpa's affairs very nicely lo these many years) in charge because father either showed no interest or was restrained due to lack of knowledge or experience ... so here comes the son (who has no clue what to do) finally waking up to the idea that the ownership belongs to him- starting to want to change family policy....

now comes the question of HOW to make butler understand that son is the real owner and wants to take over the job regardless of lack of training...

I guess this is the way TPTW are trying to imitate the real WATCHERS of the world through spying technologies. Not that I approve of these things because they do it to invade our lives for their own selfish reasons. However, everyone needs to realize that privacy and secrecy are illusions. The WATCHERS above are watching the watchers, too.

How many people would think before they did anything shameful or horrific if they knew they were being watched by higher sources? Nothing is hidden in those dark places where atrocities are committed. There are no secret places dark enough to hide from the higher ups (and I'm not talking about TPTW or aliens either). Our thoughts are just as open to them, too. The WATCHERS see and hear all....

If everyone realized that everything they do is observed, then maybe right actions and thinking would guide them....
Hmmm. IMO...

I couldn't agree more.
I was one of the first people in my circle to have one, back in the 1990s, but now I am the only person that I know who does NOT have it (with the possible exception of two homeless guys I meet and talk to every day; I do know a "bag lady", however, who has had a cell phone since 2005.)

If you want to see me, send me an email; we'll set a date.
If you are late, no problem, I'll wait for you - like people used to in the old, antediluvian days.
If I happen to be late (which is extremely rare), I'd expect the same from you.
If that's too much to ask, no problem. We don't have much to talk about, anyway. :)

But the main reason I am replying to this thread - called "Private-less World", after all (i.e. its subject is not confined to cell phones only) - is because I don't think this has been discussed here (if it has, I apologise), and I think many would be interested:

Facebook is building "shadow" profiles of (i.e. tracking) its NON-users, too
(http://www.firstpost.com/tech/facebook-finally-admits-to-tracking-non-users-133684.html)

For the record, I do not use FB.

Wonder what they did wrong to end up with that gig... imagine having to put up with the entire stream of crap coming of this planet every day...sheesh :p

The article says:

There are tools to help protect users from Facebook’s surveillance, such as Priv3, Ghostery and Adblock Plus, but I’d hazard a guess that most users either don’t know about them, use browsers that don’t support such plug-ins, or simply don’t believe it’s a problem.

But then again- if you do decide to use a tracer-blocking program, it would mean you were a terrorist according to this thread... http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?39962-Do-You-Like-Online-Privacy-You-May-Be-a-Terrorist&highlight=terrorist
