hey pug.. my daughter is a huge fan of the little ponys :) sorry for going off topic..

i think the acronym F.B.I gives them the go ahead from all the sleepy people to delve into whatever they wish.. just like seeing the red and blue flashing lights give the police the ideal mental push to help you feel constrained and submitive..

Have you read the article? They were looking into his suitability to be appointed to an advisory board. So it was something you'd expect the FBI to do - and good for national security. Mind you, there are plenty of examples where it isn't...

It's a bit disrespectful though, that they release his files as soon as he is dead. I mean, couldn't they have done it before? I think it's an invasion of privacy and to release the files is a bit much.

It isn't a crime for the FBI to investigate anyone.
They can legally (as far as I can ascertain) investigate all US citizens.
They can keep big lengthy notes on each person that lives within's its confines.
Until they are given limits, they will keep investigating anyone they are told to or self
direct themselves to do.

I don't let it keep me up at nights.
I figure when they go beyond just investigating and start interfering, without legal mandates,
then, individually (or at least the officer in charge) can be charged with a crime.

So unless this debate is about that, which hasn't happened (as far as being reported here),
I don't see a reason to become riled up.

I am just putting this into a solvable crisis (verses....OMG they are 'after' everyone type of mind exercise....).
I think there are bigger fish to fry currently (already) than a few FBI officers who are being ordered to investigate high profile people
that trade internationally. (not trying to defend the FBI, just pointing out that so far, what they have done here is 'legal' though
'awful' in what it portrays about them....but no one likes them anyway....or at least I havn't been happy about their activities since Vietnam).

That's the sad truth... and after the patriot act(s)/NDAA/etc, I'm sure they can do quite a lot more "legally" than before. :pout:
