I wasn't really a fan of hers. But I was shocked when I saw the news that she was pronounced dead at 3:55 pm at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. On the eve of the Grammy's. Hope it isn't one of "those" deaths. You know what I mean.

I am very sorry to hear this news, The rumour was that she was difficult and arrogant, I hope that this was not true and I wish her peace and thank her for her work.

Let's let her finally rest in peace, she battled her demons on many levels. Time now to forget about media scandals and remember her for the beautiful sound of her singing, it was her gift to us all. - Thanks Whitney, your music made us feel good inside.- When someone dies you do'nt always remember everything about them, but you'll never forget how they made you feel !

Even if she was ("arrogant and difficult"), I am sure she deserves peace.
I just cannot bring myself to wish "rest in peace" on anyone (even though I have used it on occasions).
It just sounds so damn boring!
Oh, I know.... Let's say: may she sing and dance in peace. :-)

I think the damage had taken a toll on her heart arteries, cocaine builds up like a plaque on teeth over time in the arteries and unless you scrape it off, it remains until the stress of extra blood flow is needed then the damage is noticeable. i pray she didn't fall prey again, but deep down, I feel, it was the damage of what she used. Most cocaine addicted souls, don't realize this going beyond the age of 35. The battle to quit is one thing, but the build up is irreversable without bypass or other scraping implementations.

When I heard, i didn't get the overdose feeling, when seeking her face. Also she cross addicted trying to substitute alcohol in place of the drug, and that just makes it worse.

Most people I knew that were on cocaine, or heroine, quit using pot, which give a somewhat uphoric wean that doesn't leave them hurting while quitting. I have seen many weaned off with pot. Could that also be why they lie and say it's a gateway, when it's actually a way off, instead of liquid morphine.

Difficult and arrogant are chief signs of cocaine addiction. EGO won't let go of feeling superior, because lab drugs make you float for a while. Crack lets you drift for a hot 5 minutes, and then they spend the rest of the day, or until they are broke(Whitney had money) and cannot afford anymore or pass out from exhaustion from walking all times of night to obtain/score. Those like Richard Pryor, sat in the home all day, listening to the addiction gorilla, beat them until they relented. Finally Pryor lost it and cried for help by lighting himself on fire, as hell was preferable to becoming a zombie all day and night. He and others speak on it, because they experienced it. I too experience an 8 year hellish addiction of crack. I am 22 years sober off drugs.

Crack kills overtime and this may have been the time. Even when the soul has surrendered the body to Christ conscious, the damages done are permanant.

Pot does none of this, just relaxes, and they tried to lock her up when she tried to wean off the harder stuff with Hawaiian pot, which would have done it in six months, if it was legal.

People who don't know much about herbs and pharma frankendrugs, shouldn't rule them out entirely when the system is rigged to have the rich afford treatment and the poor to suffer in poverty with NO relief, not even a hope or fantasy.

Whitney grew lonely, but knew Bobby would be a trip back to lowville, is she took him back out of lonliness. So she turned to God and he has sustained her through her battle since.

Rest in Peace or come back and let's do it over Whitney, we love you survivor of a maladjusted world around you.

She was a typical diva in many ways - a solo act who reportedly did not feel part of a team for example working on a movie set with experienced actresses. But hey, so what. Very very sad.

TMZ reports she was found under the water...not official...

The video at this link of Whitney singing the national anthem is true Whitney. She will always be remembered for her gutsy talent.
