Even a casual reader of this message board will notice a preponderance of claims and speculation about future cataclysmic events, especially now that we've entered 2012. However, it might be useful to review an important bit of research linked below, before drawing any conclusions regarding our impending fate.
In the 1980's, the foremost NDE researcher, Dr. Kenneth Ring, Ph.D., of the
University of Connecticut, undertook an extensive study of the prophetic visions related by subjects who had undergone near death experiences.
This paper linked below reviews the research into a specific aspect of near death experiences (NDEs): the prophetic vision (PV). PVs are subjectively compelling flashforwards of planetary-wide cataclysms and eventual regeneration that sometimes occur during or in the immediate aftermath of an NDE. The cummulative research has shown that the most frequently mentioned year for the culmination of the geophysical calamities foreseen in PVs was 1988.
