This light appeared in the near distance on a very slow trajectory and then switched off.

I've seen something similar in fact it remained considerably brighter than any other body including the moon and then simply stopped shining and disappeared. I have noticed this on four separate occasions when I have been outside at night on a clear night. I would be very interested to know if any one else had experienced similar phenomenon. I have seen many shooting stars and satellites in the past and these observations do not fit in with their normal behaviour.
I would also have to say that these appearances seem to tie in with my personal thought about their likelihood of manifesting at that time. The light they produce is comparable to a security light going off and will create a clearly definable shadow and luminous area in the sky that lingers for approx 6 to 8 seconds after the initial flash.

Hi Pete
I have also seen what you see. I have footage of two other events that happened on the same night. I am replacing the video because I had the settings wrong when I uploaded. This one gives a clearer picture of what happened. I'll try and upload the other two.
