Not so long ago, an enormous fiery cloud in the skies above Russia could only mean one thing: The beginning of something very very bad indeed.

At the height of the Cold War, a vision like this would set off screams of terror and mass panic, rather than the soft gasps of wonder and awe-struck conversation that can be heard in the YouTube clip of this spectacular phenomenon.

But it's not the end of the world, nor is it the beginning of a fine friendship with alien neighbours.

Duck and cover: Footage of the towering glowing cloud over an unidentified city in Russia has hit YouTube. It is a brilliantly back-lit version of lenticular cloud, often known as a UFO cloud... for obvious reasons

Footage of the glowing circular formation - which hit YouTube yesterday - is one of the most stunning examples of a 'lenticular cloud'.

For obvious reasons, these rare cloud formations are also known as 'UFO clouds' - because of their spooky resemblance to the space ships we are all expecting to imminently arrive in the skies above us.

Sci-fi films as far back as Close Encounters Of The Third Kind (1977) - and more recently Independence Day (1996) - have depicted aliens camouflaging their craft in boiling cloud formations.

Natural beauty: Captured at just the right time, when the sun is striking the bottom of the cloud and the 'halo' above it is created by refracted light, the cloud takes on an eerie appearance

But this is little more than the wonder of nature creating an amazing sight.

The footage was taken in an unidentified city in Russia, and voices can be heard marveling at the awesome sight. You don't need to speak Russian to get the gist of the conversation.

What sets this footage apart from other examples of lenticular formations is the amazing glowing nature of the cloud.

That's an HAARP Cloud , AFAIK. So no, it's not the start of WW3 or First Contact.

I got a question though...if since ET's have been involved in this planet and humanity since the very beginning, and much contact has been made this last century at least since 1934, how would open contact become considered "First Contact" at this point? Wouldn't it be more proper to just call it "Open Contact" ?

Usually I really love your posts, so I hope you aren't offended by me saying that it really put my teeth on edge to read the title of this thread. Here's why: The mind is a funny thing. Words conjure up images and associated thoughts. If we are to keep ourselves centered on Timeline One, and not feed Timeline Two, these things matter.

The mind does not recognize the word NOT, for instance. There is NOT an elephant in the living room actually conjures up the image of an elephant in the living room. See what I'm saying? Even if your title does not mean that you support the idea of a horrible and terrible war, the very speaking of the words conjures the IDEA of it. As I understand the metaphysics of it, that helps bring it into being, whether you meant to or not. It's like that old idea that you don't speak the name of the evil that you don't want to come to you, because the speaking of the name draws it to you.

As a metaphysical teacher of mine said several years ago: "Practice is over. Everything counts now." That means thoughts, words, emotions, intents. I apologize for being so serious in this thread that I can see you did not mean seriously... but all of us have to be more aware of what we're doing, as co-creators of our world.

Only speculation on my part chem trails and what they’ve been dispersing in our sky’s are at a very high altitude colloidal metals very refined in nature at that altitude would stay suspended above the cloud line for a very long time. Yes I was right...same pictures here 2 years ago ... Hey it doesn't matter Jacko because it has raised a few questions... what are these strange cloud formations...I remember reading in the Phoenix Journels that YES some of these cloud formations are ships...?!! *shrugs* who knows...

Lenticular clouds appear in isolation from other cloud forms and types within stable moist air, normally in mountainous regions. Symmetrical formation is due to the strong vertical movements within the cloud as moist air descends and evaporates back into vapour.
Whilst no mention of location where video was shot, the presence of clouds beneath this "event" does not satisfy the definition of lentricular formations.

Personally, I suspect this was electromagnetically produced by our good host or one of its derivatives, HAARP.

The thing is, when things like this manifest in our perceptions, we do tend to gawp in awe as its wonderment. And it does look super kewl. But we invariably have very little means of investigating cause and effect. So there is no research, investigation or oversight other than "peer reviewed" conjecture, which we now know not to trust.

IMO people want disclosure so so so so bad, there allowing there mind to identify with HOOLYWOOD special effects used in Independence day and close encounters of the third kind, when alien ship coursed threw open sky creating clouds as they went threw the atmosphere. I guess if you add a little drama music to this video would help it along too. Nice try though. Subliminal stage effects from Hollywood stuck in peoples minds. Push push push. Imagination stretch the I want it to be so so oh so bad syndrome. I see and hear anything I want to believe so it is. No different than this poor poor soul.
