View Full Version : Don't be discouraged

Don't be discouraged.

If we wind ourselves up with expectations, it is guaranteed that we will be disappointed.
And so, we will find ourselves constantly going up and down....a little bipolar! ...a pole shift!
We get so used to living this way, it seems normal. It's not!

Living in hope is also living in fear: we want something different to what we have now.
Change never seems to happen and so we get discouraged. We lose courage.
We may feel a change, but we could merely be going through our habitual cycle, of “Oh, the horizon looks good!”
(incidentally, here I actually typed...”looks god”... something that seems unattainable...!)

Fear not, courageous warriors!

We just need some courage, in order to face the unknown with the known.
It does not matter what is on the horizon.
Why?
Because where you are IS the horizon!

Courage is needed to investigate a wound.
This does take much courage.
Someone who is lacking courage will want to put a pretty plaster over it. Not a good idea!
With that attitude, an amputation may be necessary later one...

So knowing what is known, we find we are on firm ground (metaphorically speaking).
It does not matter where you think you are going, when you arrive you will still have to deal with your consciousness.
Is your consciousness clear or not?

If your consciousness is clear, nothing can ever disturb you, because you will be confident in your clarity.
Courage automatically arises, to deal with any situation with loving kindness, and never a hint of aggression. However, anger can be a good energy boost, if it is channeled properly!

Feeling discouraged, means that clarity in consciousness is not present, and so one feels a bit defensive.

Fear not, courageous warriors!

We merely need a balance of an open mind and an open heart.
Not one OR the other!
The trick is to see one's feelings. It's that simple.
The very moment one is aware of those feelings, there is a detachment...the clutch has been disengaged (on a European car with manual drive!).
A moment of clarity has opened.
The next trick is to not modify or fabricate that awareness with add value(s). Just let it be.

Adding personal values to an experience weakens the experience.

When consciousness is clear one has no idea.
From that, confidence arises when one lets go, into luminous emptiness.
If one is stuck in concepts about feelings, consciousness gets cloudy.

The feelings are important, because behind them is that pure awareness...and joy.
That is the beginning of wisdom.

Expressing this joy and wisdom can seem impossible...but there is a silence that rings after an echo.

In fact, it is more to do with that silence resounding in another's empathetic mind to complete the whole action: that is beyond words.

Fear not, courageous warriors!

I like your work Tony. Deep, well thought out posts. In the Maori culture, we'd call you a "Kaumatua" or a Sage like elder who is well respected and revered. Great stuff man, I love it. Both you and Modwiz are like my cyber "Kaumatua's" here on Avalon, if I may say. :)

A lot of clichés but accurate, truthful and very well put together. Was just thinking what's the point of the government interference with the alternate media, GFL ect? I think its to focus people on the current reality increasing the density of our current existence. They do this by giving us hope of help and getting us to argue about anything 3 dimensional. I think as Tony alludes too we have to remove our attachment from the external focusing on ourselves, feeling ect ect.

Dear Andrew,

Cliches? I'm not clever enough to know cliches!
I just have poetic moments.

Yes we lose the capacity to enjoy today for what today is..what were regarded as miserable yesterdays can now look good in hindsight.

Um, "No Matter you go, there you are." Confucius

"Adding personal values to an experience weakens the experience."

That is a mighty powerful statement I would as you to expound, please.

Good morning Solstyse,
It's exaggeration. When you experience ...there you are, it means your pure essence.

The moment one claims it, it becomes a concept, and idea of that experience.
It is said, to rest there in an unmodified way, not fabricating anything.
That is why, one says "Not this, not this." to anything that appears......or set it on fire!

....and there you are!

All the best,
tony

Through out history fire was referred to as a way of cleansing. Putrefy through fire.
I am just having fun :)
Thank you for expounding. Makes more sense in context now.
