Thanks for reposting the link. I went back and saw the later update where NBC trashed Glenn, and then he proceeded to eviscerate them and their trash-attempt. :)

That's why Glenn Greenwald is on my daily reading list (though I missed a day and this update), and has been since he was a lone blogger just getting started with a self-hosted blog Unclaimed Territory, way before Salon came calling.

Are you talking about Cenk? He could use ratings, but the story of NBC's being in bed with War propagandists, specifically this General, won a Pulitzer prize, and NBC never covered that story:

On January 12, 2012, McCaffrey presented a seminar to roughly 20 NBC executives and producers — including NBC News President Steve Capus — entitled “Iran, Nukes & Oil: The Gulf Confrontation.” We’ve obtained the Power Point document McCaffrey prepared and distributed for his presentation.

Check the update, it looks like nbc are not refuting the article.


Nor does it dispute any of the facts I conveyed about McCaffrey. Indeed, despite its opening flurry of accusations, NBC does not even purport to identify a single inaccuracy in any thing I reported.

And the way i see it he is exposing a fear monger who is making profits from war.

Cenk also was burned by MSNBC (> NBC > war-profiteer GE) , who tried to control and tone him down when he had a show there. He knows the BS that goes on there, and ran him and Olberman out. I am glad he found a new platform at Current TV, where he will not be censured, I believe.

That claim, plus my disgust from this very story, caused me to switch from NBS to CBS, for those times I want to watch the nightly network propaganda - usually for weather coverage and to see what propaganda they are pushing. I did notice last night CBS seemed a little more even-handed in the Iran/Israel coverage than NBC has been of late, but not enough data points to really say anything for sure.

I do the same thing. It is to the point now where we watch network news if we are in need of a good laugh. Most of the time I watch it I get angry because it is such a sham. Alternative new is good but much of that has an agenda as well. Its important to watch a wide variety and try to discern the real truth. Really telling is the fact that they all have marginalized Ron Paul. Even if you don't like Ron Paul the way he is treated exposes the whole thing.

War is big business and has been for some centuries now. Look at the Iran war didn't want that one either. These people are desparate to keep the control that is leaking away for them in every direction. This is not to speak of the possibility of a massive earthquake(s) on the New Madrid fault line. There's lots and lots and lots going on right now best be in a calm coherent state and/or know how to be in a calm coherent state. We're gunna need it.
