Calling our orbit a "Plane" is the same as calling our Earth flat.
Our solar orbit is a "Coil".... or (We won't get to 4-D, until we fully accept 3-D)

We're just "Luggage on Wheels", being dragged to the next port of call.. Hope we're not late for the next leg..

Here's another comparison... we're an atom on a baseball (or Tennis ball if you are so inclined) and we are thrown (or hit) in a back spin (or top spin). All this time we have been expounding endlessly on how fast we are spinning.. never even considering that we are also moving (quite quickly) towards the bat, (or racket).

I hope it's a strike...(or an ace)
