I want to make a thread that will encourage individuals to develop their inner-awareness. If you are familiar with your inner-awareness, please post things that you've experienced and the benefits of developing your inner-awareness, to entice others to follow suit.

At last, a thread I can relate to! Thanks JoshuaM. I was toying with starting a thread called 'Practical Spirituality',but your thread will do just fine at the moment. To me spiritual understanding has to have practical application to ones life else it's just airy fairy intellectual philosophy!
So, Inner Awareness! My first experience of inner awareness was in relation to gardening. For years I had had the experience of books falling our of shelves to me that was just what I needed to learn at that particular time! I had been aware also, for some time that situations I had created were there for me to learn something from.
One day when puzzling about gardening matters an inner voice started giving me answers. Answers that worked and were not something that my rational mind/ personality would come up with. It was sort of like a working partnership. It made me realize that in so many ways I had been pushed and prodded in various ways that I had been unconscious of. When I did become conscious of these inspirations, and they worked, that's when it became quite exciting.
To me bringing these understandings into this 3d polarity world, and applying it here is what I am about.

My first experience with my inner-awareness began one lazy afternoon, laying on my bed, and started hearing my heartbeat. I had an instant thought to "feel" my heartbeat in my left hand. Soon after, I was feeling the inner-awareness of my left hand. It was aliveness inside like fireworks were going off and with each pop I felt calmer, happier, and joy. I later developed the same inner-awareness for my right hand and both arms. I now can also feel my feet and my head to some degree. Besides the joy and simplicity this has brought me, it has also brought a "grounding" feeling where I'm less distracted and I can monitor my thoughts easier.

Sort of like feeling and acknowledging the LifeForce, the animating intelligence coursing through our bodies?
That which runs our bodies without us having to do anything.
Good thread, and one of the most difficult things to explain in words. One thing that sprang to mind as i saw ur avatar of a gorgeous snowflake and how it reminds me of some things to ponder about ones interior.
We are made up of mostly water...the dialogue we have with ourselves within has an enormous impact on the "water" within. Hate, fearful dialogue can create turbulence in our water within, and effects most people more then they're aware of...training oneself to focus on internal dialogue that "speaks" love, positivity helps to create a more "calm" water within. This is ofcourse why at meditation groups before they begin they focus on creating a "peaceful" space to invision, so u are "conductive" in the best way posible through ur water to meditate.
This i feel is an important "piece" to "feeling" within...create wonderful snowflakes of grand geometry flowing within which inturn cultivates more and more of a clearer connection to the self within...
I am sure more will add some different ideas to this as it needs as many angels as possible given that OUR WHOLE LIFE we were Hypnotized into ONLY PAYING HOMAGE to the world outside and have NO clue what "insides" have to do with anything!!

Clearing our inner circuitry of 'chatter' is a prerequisite to hearing/sensing our In-Spirations. Our altered ego is inclined to rubbish anything that it cannot understand or control. A very loud 'Shut the F--kUp', sometimes works.
A few years ago I directed a theatre production, something I had never done before. I had two voices with two very different perspectives! One voice was very encouraging and also challenging! It said things like "Come on, you can do this. It's your turn"! The other voice said things like "What the he'll do you think you are doing! You haven't a clue! Have you!
Actually both were right, so I took action on both! I did not allow the dis voice to bring me down. It was an interesting time and the show went very well. I did not tell cast members about the two voices. I got them together and told them I didn't know anything much about directing. I said that I did not want any talking behind my back. If they had criticism or ideas I wanted to hear them. If the idea worked or the criticism was valid we would incorporate it into the show! If not then that was my descision! It really did work well. I used all the good ideas they came up with and the cast felt listened to and inspired. So another case of Inner awareness used for practical purpose.
