G'day Jacko,

Dave is one of my all time favourites!
Metallica, in my opinion, went down hill after the "split".
Don't normally listen to AJ but might make an exception for this one.
Kind Regards, :yo:

The song EndGame:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HdqyTmfDwk0

The Lryics:
Endgame:
Attention! Attention!! All citizens are ordered to report to their District detention centers! Do not return to your homes; do not contact anyone! Do not use any cellular or GPS devices! Surrender all weapons at once! Attention! This way to the camps!

I woke up in a black FEMA box
Darkness was all around me, in my coffin
My dreams are all nightmares anymore
And this is what I dream every night

The Leader of the New World Order, the President of the United States
Has declared anyone now residing inside the US of A
Without the RFID chip, you’re just an illegal alien
An enemy combatant of America, welcome to the New World Order

This is the end of the road; this is the end of the line
This is the end of your life; this is the . . .

A society in a society, inside the fence life as you know it stops
They got their rules of conduct and we got ours
Be quick or be dead, you crumble up and die, the clock is
Ticking so slowly and so much can happen in an hour

I learned my lessons the hard way, every scar I earned
I had to bleed, inside the day yard
A system of controlled movement, like a giant ant farm
Any time is long time, now you’re not in charge of your time anymore

The Ex-President signed a secret bill that can
Land a legal US Citizen in jail and the
Patriot act stripped away our constitutional rights
They say a Concentration camp just popped up, yeah, right!

Refuse the chip? Ha! Get persecute and beat by the
Tyranny of Mind control, for the mark of the beast
All rights removed, you’re punished, captured, and enslaved
Believe me when I say, “This IS the Endgame!”

I always liked the insightful political and reality based lyrics of Megadeth. Should be a good interview.

For some reason I am surprised there are so many metal heads on this forum! Megadeth's first four albums are thrash landmarks (well, So Far So Good So What is pretty hit and miss IMO) but I don't really dig the albums after that. To me it seems like Mustaine was chasing a Metallica-esque break through with those. That said, Endgame really surprised me. It was a real return to thrashy form. I do find Mustaine's lyrics to be well written and often thought provoking but from what I've read in many interviews he still seems to buy into the the false left-right political paradigm, evidenced most recently by his endorsement of Rick Santorum.

Metallica hit its' real nadir when Lars decided to embrace the 'man' and the system he got rich on by attacking. He showed himself to be a little hypocritical prig. Although, even before he exposed himself he had a reputation for being a dick. He aided and abetted the spirit of going after file sharers with ridiculously punitive fines being levied against people. If the record execs were creative types instead of talent-less parasites, they would have gotten in front of things and allowed digital music to be the gold mine it could have been. Even now, 99 cents for a copy of a song that can be given infinitely with no cost beside a server and collection agent is a rip off. Theft from a thief is not the usual moral conundrum. Sometimes it is a protest against injustice, an economical disobedience, if you will.

I have a handkerchief with a picture of Lars on it..................maybe. Toilet paper too. :p

thanks for the post. I'll check out the interview. In my opinion Holy Wars and Hanger 18 are the two greatest thrash metal songs ever recorded; and they're on the same album!!! Back to back!!!

Thanks to all your comments & contributions...

Just goes to show the 'Truth Sells'...:yes4:

Together with Dave's honest & truthful lyrics and the bands hard work and continual touring the message is really starting to resonate...

Not to mention the 'Exposure' Megadeth has had on the 'Alex Jones' show, its no surprise to me the record sales and the band's popularity of late has 'Skyrocketed'...:)

The public are getting 'Sick & Tired' of fake commercialism and its good to see Musicians like Dave get the rewards for never wavering from their message..!

Can't say the same for the likes of Metallica, Lars Ulrich (What a Nob) - Stick that in your art collection Lars..!

Always nice to here what Dave has to say. I was totally blown away when I first heard Rust In Peace. That is truly still one of my favorite records ever along Countdown To Extinction. Guitar work by both Dave and Marty is absolutely amazing, especially those solos which I still can't play.:) Also I liked lyrics which are far better than Hetfield's lyrics.

Totally agree jackovest, very cool to see Alex get so passionate over this interview,he was like a kid in a candy store :)

A refreshing side to see from Alex and who would have thunk it....AJ into Metal!

Really like Mustaine's outlook on life and his diplomatic approach towards those who spat at him over the years.

I'd like to see Dave Draiman interviewed by AJ,wonder if he's into Disturbed?
