Sad but true and it's not happening only in the US.

Thank you Deega, very interesting to see all the statistics together.

I started researching all the food colourings / additives / ingredients in medications and their {potential} side-effects, when an elderly friend ended up taking over 46 pills a day...

Some additives are banned in many countries - one colouring is even banned in Pet Food in germany! So how come they allow it in medication for vulnerable, elderly, sick people in the UK?
. One chemical is actually banned throughout the EU- yet there it was listed on some imported 'generic' tablets ingredients list.

I had noted for a while that about three quarters of my friends medications were manufactured by this one, same company... A company who seems to like using cheaper colourings with known side-effects, some of which are banned in various countries around the world. Side-effects can include itching, skin rashes, wheezing - typical allergy reactions.

Now, oddly enough, this same company has launched a new allergy treatment to rival an existing treatment {which sells $293 Million worth annually in the US.}

So, you put ingredients into tablets which produce side-effects, then, you sell another drug to try and treat the 'allergy' which people cannot pinpoint the cause of... A lot of folk wouldn't think of questioning tablets their Doctor prescribed for them...

My poor friend really suffered for a long time with different side-effects- eyedrops which caused severe photophobia, severe rashes and itching, diarrhoea, and was then dosed with antihistamines & painkillers which made him very drowsy & dopey :(

I started dowsing all his medications and managed to identify a few things that were suspect, and our friendly Pharmacy / GP 'humoured' me and tried alternatives / different brands, which relived his suffering a lot.

Have a look at the list of ingredients in your Granny's medications, read the potential side-effects, {and try dowsing} & try asking the pharmacist for a different brand, if possible?

Thanks Kra for your post,

You're probably right!

And if we'd know what the pharmaceuthical (in association with the medical) is trying first on animal (testing) and then on people, our hairs would straight out on our head...! My guess is that a lot a people will suffered, will died in using (pharma) drugs that don't fit in with theirs systems (human body).

I guess people will have to continue pressure on our politiciens for a better control on what is given to patients to lower the suffering and the death of loved one.

All my blessings.

I think the problem here is that big pharma controls our politicians to do their bidding in their favor on these very important issues.

Thanks Horizon,

I feel the same way. Big pharma industry will work her way to progress in her space of business.

Thanks Fina for your post, here is a few comments,

“So how come they allow it in medication for vulnerable, elderly, sick people in the UK?”
I think that the problem is worldwide, they put elderly in institution and have them take drugs to control them, and unfortunately, we’re heading that way, may we try to make a move before it’s our tern…?

“I had noted for a while that about three quarters of my friends medications were manufactured by this one, same company…” It’s probably one that we have in Canada and the United States and elsewhere…!

“So, you put ingredients into tablets which produce side-effects, then, you sell another drug to try and treat the 'allergy' which people cannot pinpoint the cause of...”. Conspiracy Theory would have it “population control”…!

“A lot of folk wouldn't think of questioning tablets their Doctor prescribed for them...” How may we inform people on questioning their Doctor…? But, as you know the Web is one great place where you will find all the information you’ve like to know on drugs, side-effects, etc.

May your friends with your help find the adequate medication trying to avoid displeasing side-effects!

All my blessings,

Deega
