View Full Version : Iranians we love you - say the Israelis
Limor Wolf

An on-line 'Hello' from an Israeli couple has managed to touch the hearts of hundreds of Israelis and Iranians on Facebook, and it all started with these two posters:
http://cdn1.spiegel.de/images/image-330670-galleryV9-bdiz.jpg
Ronni Edry and his wife Michal Tamir put on Facebook two posters showing them with their children, the posters are bearing the inscription - "Iranians, we will never bomb your country, we love you" On another poster they wrote -" To the fathers, mothers, children, brothers and sisters in Iran"
"In order for a war to start between us we need to fear each other, we must hate. I am not afaraid of you, I do not hate you, I do not even know you, No Iranian has ever hurt me" Edry wrote, adding that he is not an official representative - "we love you, we don't want to hurt you".
The idea was to reach the other side, Edry told 'Haaretz' newspaper, although he admitted he did not believe it would get into such a level of success.
"I thought that in a situation where there are constant talks about the threats and the war, you are so afraid and under pressure and so you go into a kind of a shell, and think to yourself how lucky that we also have bombs and we are going to 'clean' them first," he said.
"So I thought why not try to reach the other side, bypassing the generals, to see if they really hate me."
At first we were met with criticism, Adry told, "After the first poster I put, people started to go down on me saying I'm an idiot and naive. "Why are you telling them you love them? Why are you taking your pants off before the war begins".But, it quickly became clear that the first two posters, followed by many others been a tremendous success.
The first Post received hundreds of shares and 'likes', and many wanted to join. The couple has shared the format of the text, so that everyone can incorporate it themselves and create a picture of their own.
The couple's story has been exposed in the media and even their close friend, which was the most forceful of their critics, has joined the initiative last night.
Dozens of the photos already posted on their Facebook album show parents and children, youth, adults and even someone standing there with a gas mask and holding a toy puppy and pan, a reminder of the first Gulf War. Many of them are holding an Israeli flag, in the spirit of the first image of Edry.
Very shortly, and responses from Iran have started to arrive. "I never believed that within 48 hours I'll talk to the other side," said Edery. Most responses come from private messages but there are also others that express their desire to become friends on facebook.
During a conversation with him on Saturday night, after a day of sitting in front of Facebook having conversations with Iranians and Israelis, it was difficult not to notice Edry's excitement ." Its getting crazy. I'm just talking with some Iranians and I'm trying to convince them to send me their pictures, "They tel me that we can post pictures, But for them, they might go to jail for such a thing." Meanwhile, they advertise private messages, while hiding the details. Despite all this, the beginnings of what looks like responses and pictures from the other side are already seen:
http://www.themarker.com/polopoly_fs/1.1666264!/image/4029847807.jpg_gen/derivatives/landscape_468/4029847807.jpg
"We love you too, your words have reached us, Despite the censorship" wrote one of the surfers from Iran. "The Iranian people, with the exception of the government, do not hold any grudge or animosity towards anyone, especially not for Israel ... We have never considered Israelis to be our enemies. Therefore, the regime will not be able to mobilize the nation to war. the hostility, invented by the regime's propaganda will dissipate pretty soon. The Ayatollah will die soon. Ahmadinejad will disappear. He is no more than an opportunist, and most of all - an idiot. Everyone hates him. Love you, love, peace. And thanks for your message. "

wow very very cool.
As we all suspected its at the grass roots level where real change can and is happening.
Power to the people YEAH !
And there is my "beef" right there of all the bad press people put onto facebook.
Sure we know its "theirs" if you want to think in terms of polarities.
But it has its uses for "our side" and here is a classic example of it.
Nothing is that black and white, and less so by the day, by the minute.
These are just tools, aimed for ill intent maybe, so why not take those same tools
and use them for the highest good??
Just my two cents.

This is so beautiful. This thread should get like a million replies. This is the most important thread i've seen on here in awhile. This israeli couple is showing us how we can beat the owo by going off-script and not buying into the us against them mentality anymore. We can beat the bad guys if we do more things like this.

I haven't posted but this was so awesome and inspiring I had to post! The most enlightened post I have seen in sometime! As Ghandi said so eloquently "Be the change you want to see". This is a wonderful example of it! Forget the governments! How many of us want war! We are all just people. Limor thanks for making my day!

I see new 'occupy' opportunities ... unfortunately the word occupy has a nasty military connotation already.
So it would be wise to give it a more neutral and yet still very meaningful name ...
But what I mean is that if e.g. one thousand Israeli's could visit Iran and one thousand Iranians would visit Israel
both countries' governments would have more difficulty bombing each other if your own civilians are visiting
there. I know, it sounds idealistic but that's how 'people' could demonstrate where the power really resides.

Hi Operator, Many people who live in Israel are an Iranian jews born and bred. The majority of them have good words to say about Iran, There were times when jews and iranians could live together with each other...and why not..
I would also like to see our palestinian neighbors getting their freedom, I would like to reach to them as well and say, besides how sorry I am that I love and appreciate them, for they are our fellow human beings, they deserve being equal members of a sane society and may their cry be manifested and will be heard very soon.
Thank you all for your enthusiasm and warm responses.

It seems Your sense of smell is proving right, Astrid.
In parallel to the initiative of Edry and Tamir a new facebook group was opened on Thursday under the name -'People Against War with Iran'. "Newspaper headlines tell the story: Prime Minister trying to prepare public opinion for an Israeli attack on Iran, which is expected to arrive very soon," reads the group page.
"The majority of Israelis oppose this adventure, the consequences might be catastrophic. Many experts warn about the possible consequences of an attack in Iran and a declaration of such a war. Iran is expected to respond, which will cause many casualties in Israel."
The founders of the group were also indicating the determined opposition of the former Mossad Cheif Meir Dagan (http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=7401688n)initiative.
Well, Apperantly, there is going to be a demonstration this coming saturday: "The people say 'No' to Israel-Iran war."

News from a couple of hours ago:
"Before going to sleep, a good news. Today we launched our first demonstration. Within eight hours more than 700 woman and man have joined.
Since a day and a half ago close to 1,500 people have joined this Facebook page.Together with what is happening on the Israel- Iranian 'love scene' :) (In the absence of a better terminology), we allow ourselves to one second of optimism. That together we put an end to the vanities of this war, and return, each with its own leaders and rulers to face a summer of an attempt for a better life for ourselves. good night and good morning."

... and love is the most direct communication there is:
[...]
The long term effect of even short term love has been noticed before in sociology. In one of the Chicken Soup for the Soul books, there is a true story about disadvantaged minority students in Washington, DC schools. A sociology professors sent his graduate students in to assess elementary student’s chances of succeeding in life. The graduate students said things like “The kids haven’t got a chance, their parents are drug addicted, unemployed, illiterate, etc.”. Twenty or more years later another sociologist sent his grad students out to find out what actually happened to those kids. Much to their surprise, the kids turned out to be overachievers with many physicians, engineers, etc. among them. They were baffled. They studied the issue until they figured it out. The kids that succeeded so well had all gone through one particular teacher’s class. They tracked that teacher down in a nursing home where she was still alert. They asked her what she had done that made the difference. She said, “That’s easy. I loved those boys!”.
Studies of foster children have shown the same thing. If there was one person that believed in them, believed that they could grow up to be a good person contributing to the society, that was enough. Just one person, out of all the people that abused them and put them down. Just one person that loved, cared, and respected them—that was all that it took.

Thanks for this thread Limor - I read about this in Haaretz a few days ago and it really lifted my spirits. What's funny is how automatically you would expect a slew of anti-left or some such comments (especially from Israelis :)) but in this case just about everyone I've shown this to has really responded positively. I think two or three years ago the response would have been very different - as a species we are starting to think for ourselves and not eat the spoon-fed lies that has we've been eating for far too long. There's hope for us yet

Thanks dear Limor!
Lovely given what's at stakes.
Everybody knows "enemies" always need to be diabolized to justify an attack.
So this is the obvious right move... which indeed can only come from citizens.
However the following quote raises an eyebrow:
Ahmadinejad will disappear. He is no more than an opportunist, and most of all - an idiot. Everyone hates him. Love you, love, peace. And thanks for your message. "
The mix of hate & love has a very poor flavor to me.
I also think this grossly misrepresents public opinion about Ahmadinejad.
The following is just a speech at the UN General Assembly in 2010. But perhaps is it worthwhile to take to time to listen to what the guy has to say, just once: http://www.voltairenet.org/Remarks-by-Mahmoud-Ahmadinejad-to
Oh, by the way, I am not pro- or against- (remember some past US president with his "Either you are with us. Or you are against us.").
Regarding Ahmadinejad, I don't know much more about him. It's just that I am suspicious about a message of hate wrapped up with peace & love.
The KONY scam comes to mind...
For the rest, kudos for the initiative... if it's real... and improved.
Time will tell.

Obama slams Iran's 'electric curtain' amid 'Israel loves Iran' internet campaign
http://worldnews.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/03/20/10776937-obama-slams-irans-electric-curtain-amid-israel-loves-iran-internet-campaign (2 days ago)
Messages posted to the Israel loves Iran blog at http://www.israelovesiran.com which was started by graphic designer Ronny Edri, left.
By msnbc.com staff and news services
President Barack Obama accused Iran on Tuesday of imposing an "electronic curtain" on its citizens and promised new U.S. steps aimed at helping to ease the Iranian people's access to the Internet, as a social media campaign designed to promote peace between ordinary Israelis and Iranians got underway.
Speaking directly to ordinary Iranians in a video message marking Nowruz, the Persian new year celebration, Obama acknowledged "continued tensions between our two countries," which stem mostly from Iran's defiance over its nuclear program.
But he insisted that Americans want a dialogue with Iranians. "There is no reason for the United States and Iran to be divided from one another," he said.
Advertise | AdChoices
Obama's overture to the Iranian people was the latest step in Washington's push to ratchet up pressure on Tehran. He has urged Israel to hold off on any attack on Iran's nuclear sites to allow more time for sanctions and diplomacy to work.
Renewing accusations of Iran's suppression of its people, Obama said Iranians were "denied the basic freedom to access the information that they want." He cited blocking of television and radio signals, monitoring of computers and cell phones and censoring of the Internet.
"Because of the actions of the Iranian regime, an electronic curtain has fallen around Iran," Obama said in the video address, which was transmitted in Farsi as well as English.
"Today, my administration is issuing new guidelines to make it easier for American businesses to provide software and services into Iran that will make it easier for the Iranian people to use the Internet," he said.
'Israel loves Iran'
Coincidentally, two Israelis, Ronny Edri and Michal Tamir, launched an internet-based project on Saturday seeking to reach out to ordinary people in Iran and express a desire for peace.
Love and Peace Campaign
Messages posted to the Love and Peace Campaign Facebook group at http://www.facebook.com/LoveAndPeaceCampaign
They developed colorful slogans, such as “Israel Loves Iran” and “We will never bomb you,” and urged people to add them to online photographs to reach out to ordinary Iranians.
In the “about you” section of their website, Edri wrote that for there to be war “first we must be afraid of each other, we must hate.”
“I’m not afraid of you, I don’t hate you. I don t even know you. No Iranian ever did me no harm. I never even met an Iranian…Just one in Paris in a museum. Nice dude,” Edri said, addressing Iranians. “I see sometime here, on the TV, an Iranian. He is talking about war. I’m sure he does not represent all the people of Iran. If you see someone on your TV talking about bombing you …be sure he does not represent all of us.”
“I’m not an official representative of my country. I m a father and a teacher. I know the streets of my town, I talk with my neighbors, my family, my students, my friends and in the name of all these people …we love you. We mean you no harm,” Edri added. “On the contrary, we want to meet, have some coffee and talk about sports.”
Some responded sarcastically, with one person using an image of the Greek’s Trojan horse in Troy, apparently taken from a film, with the message “Trojans, We will never bomb your country, We love you.”
A spoof response to the outbreak of mutual Israeli-Iranian love online.
However, there appeared to be a positive response from others, including Iranians.
On the “Love and Peace Campaign” Facebook page, which says it is run by a group of “independent Israeli-Iranian social activists and has more than 4,000 followers, a number of pictures were posted with slogans like “We love you Israeli people,” and “My Israeli friends, I don’t hate you, I don’t want War, love peace.” A heart symbol was used by some to represent the word love.

"Israel has attacked me, but not with bombs, but with love" - says today Shadi Shain, a young Iranian girl currently living in India.
Michal Tamir and Roni Edri in their home that were altered to an "operation room",Together with six other friends, they go over the many messages being recieved everyday from the Iranians and put them on Facebook.
http://www.haaretz.co.il/polopoly_fs/1.1669514.1332391049!/image/1653076310.jpg_gen/derivatives/landscape_436_326/1653076310.jpg
"To read and to cry" says Michal, "for example, a girl sent us message that they forced her at school to step on the Israeli flag, and than, when she saw Roni and our daughter it was very difficult for her. Its a lot more than we ever thought will happen. The power of that initiative is that its runs under the government .
Following the Israeli initiative, an Iranian landscape architect named Majid has opened a parallel Iranian initiative: a Facebook page entitled "Iran's love for Israel http://www.facebook.com/pages/Iran-Loves-Israel/326301454094205 He says he heard about the Israelis page on the 'radio Farda' - a Free Iranian radio transmitted from Prague, and immediately joined the celebration of the mutual compliments. "There were some extraordinary reactions . I always thought there is no reason that Israelis are bad people, but recently I found out they were very civilized."
The Israeli initiator Michal Tamir says: "We are not naive, or retarded. It's not that we say 'I love you' and the world will change... We are all afraid, but the goal is to try and stop one second before a tragic reality. Can we prevent the war? Who knows. The word Iran will no longer has the same meaning for me.
Dear Jean-luc and Zebra - I understand your feelings of somewhat uncomfortablity when reading the contradicting words, but lets face it, Not everyone at this moment in life can grasp the power of energy in words, people are simply expressing their joys and their fears within the same sentence :) and yet the overall energy is felt very well, Please don't les this love/hate expressions bother you too much, I know I am falling in this pit many times. I guess, This is where we are at the moment, but some small step by step changes seem to take us in the right direction, ain't it?

If you can wrap your head around the power of love and the vision it bestows upon people, there is little else you need to learn. Love knows the right thing to do and say. This is how the entire world can be freed. When we no longer allow our governments to mislead us down their psychopathic paths. Without us doing their bidding and acquiescing to the things they do, they are powerless to do anything more than whine about it. Maybe soldiers are next in awakening and police too. This development between these two peoples now allows us to be encouraged. I think the 'hundredth monkey' has learned about love and now the rest of us can adopt the behavior.
I am elated by this story. Thanks Limor, for this thread.

This is the most wonderful thread and shows how we must and can unite together to be the change we are all desperate to see. Once politicians get into government they stop being accountable, they don't fulfil their political mandate and through pressure of interest groups, corporations, etc. keep on propping up the old systems. If we all truly listen to our hearts - we know what is right - we can effect change.

By reading the responses on this thread, It is possible to see how much 'Pain in the ass' Israel can sometimes be.. At least by the way this country appears in the news, and everyone prayes that this 'child' will behave himself this time.. But, you see, this child suffers from schizophrenia. It does have quite a lot of duality in it, it has friendliness and it has animosity, it has caring and it has indifference, it is compound of many different 'cells' from all over the world, it is convinced that tomorrow it will cease to exist and is ready to do everything it is told so it can keep staying alive.
This is Not only true about Israel, but about the whole area of the middle east, and as soon as this 'child' realizes itself, and as soon as the parents are no longer legally authorized to represent him, he will be able to reclaim its new accomplished freedom, and what a ravishing young boy he will turn out to be.

Wow!
What a healing development in an area that has been so loudly crying for a demonstration of love for so many centuries!
And is truly love and wisdom from within.
Maybe this is a good time to frame my comments with a country of origin that has done so much to contribute to the cry for love side in the middle east, I am an American.
"My" leaders have contributed so much to keep this conflict going over the centuries. They do NOT represent me!
This thread confirms that I really do love the PEOPLE of Israel, the PEOPLE of Iran. I have felt that for so long, and the appearances of the world have withheld external acknowledgement of what I have known for so long, at times I have forgotten my vision of people realizing that they all do love each other, and that there are always actions that will lead to reconciliation, cooperation, and healing, that is the universal desire within us all.
So many things in the world have seemed to contradict this vision, but sooner or later it comes back.
One thing that helped was to watch the Occupy movement arise.
Another member has this to say about that movement and it's similarities to this new one:
I see new 'occupy' opportunities ... unfortunately the word occupy has a nasty military connotation already.
So it would be wise to give it a more neutral and yet still very meaningful name ...
But what I mean is that if e.g. one thousand Israeli's could visit Iran and one thousand Iranians would visit Israel
both countries' governments would have more difficulty bombing each other if your own civilians are visiting
there. I know, it sounds idealistic but that's how 'people' could demonstrate where the power really resides.
I have had these associations with the word occupy since reading this post:
Occupy is the act of being present within the center of an apparent problem, act of violence, area where there is a lack of love, and a lack of actual solutions and to let those actual solutions and healing actions to natural flow out of that presence.
I think that the "Israeli-Iranian Peace Web" is a real expression of this idea.
Wallstreet and it's MO of creating and feeding off of these tragic volatile markets and economic bubbles is one vary obvious symptom of how the lack of love shows up across the world.
The lie that Israelis and Iranians are enemies and that the rest of the world needs to jump in and take sides at this time is at least as obvious and at least as destructive, (LOL, what an understatement).
Are these two separate problems that are not linked at their core? Or are they both symptoms of the same disease? And are the political figures who fuel the idea of two separate peoples at war, really members of the same club that is keeping both terrible situations going?
Watching with divine anticipation!!!

We keep hearing how "powerful" we are and "co-creators" of our reality.
The millions worldwide protesting in the streets prior to Iraq didn't seem to do much good (except raise awareness).
Perhaps the power of the internet will take things to another level.
Wars really really really ... must be stopped. They are only for profit for the elite ... nothing else ... it has *always* been that way.
Don't feed the fear ... don't be a meal ticket for the transdimensionals ... offer *only* love ... keep your spirits and vibration high.

On Tuesday, Obama made a video appeal to the Iranian people on the occasion of Nowruz—the Persian New Year—saying that there was “no reason for the United States and Iran to be divided from one another.” This is a sharp deviation from the belligerent Israeli-American discourse in recent months. Reliable sources claim these words left Netanyahu speechless and blinking uncontrollably.

Yes EXACTLY, governments want war,
people do not.
Interesting this came up I have been speaking to friends and family about this recently and asked "since when had we "EVER" discussed wanting to go to war with any country Iraq, Iran, Syria, Afghanistan."
The reply was always NEVER. We talk about our lives and things we do of interest and listen to one anothers joys & trials. We never talk about going to war with anyone. And if that's my little part of the world with my family and friends when we get together im sure almost every body the world over does exactly the same thing they NEVER talk about going to war.
"ONLY ONES THAT TALK ABOUT GOING TO WAR IS OUR GOVERNMENTS."

This is awesome. It only takes a small percentage of people shining light (love) to overcome the darkness. Thank the Creator that the Universe works that way! Perhaps if this goes "viral" enough we can "consciously" override the last remaining gasp of the Power Elite and their attempts to turn Iran (Persia!) into an ashtray..... which ain't gonna be allowed! But hey, let it be OUR decision!

I did not watch this video and won't. However, we have to remember that this is an election year. Obama was elected the first time by telling people everywhere what they wanted to hear. This go-around will be no different.
The people of this world have nothing to fear from the true people of the United States. We do not want war. We do not want fear. We do not want hatred. We do not want killing. We want to get to know and like and respect the people who live in countries other than our own. We honor the differences.

And to something else - an important news item I have read today which is not about the Israeli-Iranian new 'love bond', but, nevertheless,is very much connected :
"On 10/2/2012 , "The Federation of greek police" - the largest police organisation in greece, which under it's union are 2\3 of the policemen force in the country, has published an open letter in which they declares the following:
“We warn that we refuse to come against our parents, our brothers, our children, against every citizen protesting and requiring change of policy course "

Demonstration in Israel against attack on Iran
TEL AVIV - In the Israeli city of Tel Aviv on Saturday people demonstrated against an imminent military attack on Iran. Israeli media counted about 1,000 protesters, fewer than organizers had expected. It was the first demonstration in Israel against any intervention.
Israel says Iran's arch enemy in secret work on nuclear weapons. The Jewish state is likely therefore to bomb the nuclear facilities.
Israel did it earlier in Syria (2007) and Iraq (1981). Western countries try to keep Israel from doing so.

I know that our government searches for outlets to the public’s dissatisfaction with the economic issues. Unfortunately they’ve decided YOU are the best solution – to be afraid of, to hate.

This thread brings me an unbelievable amount of relief.
The entirety of my fathers side of our family lives in the middle east... Migrating there from Russia over a century ago. So often do I hear many sorrowful things to be said... Especially in the area I'm living in at current. It's as if so many on my half of the globe think that these people... these genuine and beautiful people... aren't human because our media likes to encourage (among many other things) that the middle east is just a large sandbox full of animals that are trying to off one another. To listen to the news turns the stomach.
If only people knew...
So many honest souls... pure hearted people.
There is an incredible amount of Love in that region. Love is prized above all else... it completely dominates their music.
Thank you so much for posting this.

Hello Operator, I have mentioned this demonstration in a former post. Hre is an update:
"A couple of hundreds of people have gathered yesterday following the internet campaign " Iran we love you", to demonstrate against the possibility of a war between Israel and Iran. they were holding placards with the caption - " the people demand Iranian friends", " No to the war with Iran" "peace and social justice" etc. they were met by people who objected this initiation."
The winds are blowing at the moment between objection and support. The mind control is definitely strong.

We really have to use their own inventions like Facebook against them.
Then it's really the 99% against those poor boys.
I feel very sorry for 'them' to be on earth this time. 'They' must having
a hard time dealing with all the light coming in ;)
This is really a great way to show what's really going on in the world
and waking people up. Of course no one want any more wars!!

I appologize for not updating this thread for quite a while, there is a lot going on. Calz, that's the cutest 'bump' I have seen, BP - Alex is a good singer and a song writer, this song was absolutely beautiful and very cool. The responses from Germany to the Iranians that AIJ has posted above are very heart warming.
Iranians and Israelis can make peace, But can they tell jokes?
http://vimeo.com/39367643
Not all is rosy and blooming, you know, there are quite some counter attacks against this initiative publicised in the Israeli media, wich is expacted, of course, and there is also plain indifference by most people, some disbelief and quite a lot of accusations for 'being silly' by other citizens. Little do they know about 'energy' and about the 'ripple effect'.
I have sent this story by mail to around 40 people, not even one response back, and only very few has muttered something to my face.
I have wrote an article (http://www.emetaheret.org.il/2012/03/26/%d7%9e%d7%a1%d7%a8-%d7%a9%d7%9c-%d7%a9%d7%9c%d7%95%d7%9d-%d7%91%d7%a2%d7%99%d7%93%d7%9f-%d7%a9%d7%9c-%d7%9e%d7%9c%d7%97%d7%9e%d7%94/), telling this story wich was published a couple of days ago on the Israeli alternative news website - 'Different truth project' (http://www.emetaheret.org.il/) - "A message of peace, in an era of war", A new Israeli spirit.
I really think that places like Avalon are giving a strong boost to this type of energy wich is the voice of reason. Therefore, there is not much choice for it, but to be manifested and become reality inspite of strong resistance from other factors, and I am very thankfull to be a member here.

Limor, this thread and the sovereignty threads evolving out of the DW-Drake interview, with great assistance from our own Mozart are the most important threads we have here at PA right now, IMO. They are also not as well viewed and contributed to as they might be, unfortunately. Good to see you back and putting some energy into this thread again. I think it is very admirable that you are working for this awareness in your part of the world as well.

Thank's modwiz, It is obviously a shared effort between all of us and it is the direct response of what is in our hearts, not for nothing they say - " where energy flows, energy goes".
Israel's public knowledge about the daily lives of people in Iran is not large, But any knowledge of the Iranians about the Israelis exists even less, because of the widespread censorship in the Islamic Republic.
Another good news - Another new initiative.
As from this month, a new website - TeHTel, (http://www.tehtel.com/) Is trying to open a window for Iranians to hear the voices in Israel.
The project is the initiative of the Ezri Center for the research of Iran & Persian Gulf at the University of Haifa, which is led by Dr. Soli Shahwar. This project's main aim is to connect between ordinary internet surfers in Israel and Iran. The TeHTel website has 70 partners and a team of volunteers that translates a variety of contents from Hebrew into Persian. That includes Images from Flickr, YouTube videos, people's blogs and even tips for coping with anxiety.
"We want to have the right mix, says Yony shadmi, the editor and founder of the site, including presenting singers, poetry from both sides, Academy people and artists. " The conflict between Israel and Iran is it between both current regimes, a regime that also a large part of the Iranian public does not support .''
The point is to find the common ground between people, so far the gamble paid off, since the website has started to operate on the 4th of march 2012, it is already attracting thousands of visitors from Iran. They did not come just to read the messages, they also came to speak. Despite the fears from the Iranian regime, most are identifying with their full names and pictures and expressing sympathy to the initiative. between them are small business owners, programmers, jewelers, women and men.
The website turns to its visitors in Farsi: " Our governments will do what they do, we citizens still can talk directly with each other... we hope that you will meet other Israelis than those known to you by the Iranian media and reports, Hopefully, with this talkbacks and forum it will also give us, Israelis, a chance to talk with you, and to meet other Iranians from those known to us by the Israeli media and reports. We believe it is time we stop fear each other, and begin to talk to each other''.
"I hope that war will never break out" wrote Saaid in response, "I am a devout Muslim, but opposes the killing and war"
Shaiin wrote: "With a lot of blessings, there is joint pain of friends that my country's king released 2,500 years ago. Our situation is also not better than yours.."
Hamid writes : "Everywhere on the site you indicated that it does not matter what governments do. You mean it does not matter that I go to bed at night and suddenly the Israeli warplanes destroy my house? Even then it does not matter?''
Naama from Israel replies (In English) : '' ... I live in Israel and I'm thrilled to hear from you. We share so much in common, and above all - the desire for a peaceful life. I hope we can make discussions with meaning".
A small fraction of the talkbacks are negatives, but again, other Iranians get involved and are responding firmly,'' We are writing here for the common interests of both Israel and Iran.''
There is a great enthusiasm, I think some of the responses of Iranians is a reflection of the enthusiasm of Israelis, or at least of cuiriosity, says Shadmi," the initiative to create this website is nice, but tha fact that within a few days they come and we really start a conversation, and there have been discussions on the site, that is what amazes us.''
http://www.ynet.co.il/PicServer2/13062011/3800203/380010130100497408332no.jpg
"Do you expect the website will constitute as some kind of a bridge?" Shadmi is asked
"The Iranian public is very complex, It's structure is partly religious, also sectarian, it has classes and complex interests. This is a nation with all the complications, Dirty and beautiful - the same as in Israel, But there is a common ground, even with our worst enemy as it were - everyone loves 'lolcats' (http://icanhascheezburger.com/).

The ground we walk upon and the air we breath are Source. My sisters and brothers are all Source. The earth is not ours; we are hers. She provides everything for us -it is not ours to take. Especially Life, everything is sentient.
A note Limor, to let you know that I am keeping a prayer in my heart for the people of the Middle East and all people to walk upon the earth with Love & Peace in their hearts for the earth and each other.

The True Peace
The first peace, which is the most important,
is that which comes within the souls of people
when they realize their relationship,
their oneness, with the universe and all its powers,
and when they realize that at the center
of the universe dwells Wakan-Taka (the Great Spirit),
and that this center is really everywhere, it is within each of us.
This is the real peace, and the others are but reflections of this.
The second peace is that which is made between two individuals,
and the third is that which is made between two nations.
But above all you should understand that there can never
be peace between nations until there is known that true peace,
which, as I have often said, is within the souls of men.

Watched this today and learned quite a lot about Iran.
Iran is a democracy, it's an islamic democracy with it's own rules, but remains a democracy. And in the region, the other big democracy is Israel, obviously with its own rules also..
If you listen to Syamak Mesede who represents the Jews in the Iranian Parlament (every etnic and religious minority has a parlament seat) , between 40:00 - 41:23, he says:
"Israel is a new country wich is formed by the forces outside the region... In Israel you see that many different people are victims of homicide, and victims of intolerance and victims of obligations, I mean the palestenians"

My brother-in-law is from Iran, and he and every other Iranian I have met, including an awesome guy I met this last Wednesday are among the friendliest of the human race.
People are the same all over the world. They want freedom from persecution, and will strive to live as if they were even if they know such persecution exists.
The fundamental nature of people is to live within the limits of their land, not within the limits of its government.
And to the mainstream media of all countries who continue to portray 'x' country as evil, when they really mean the government or the 'elites' of 'x' country (where x = 196) - STOP! This is the only way in which war is alllowed to happen by citizens subject to such media. FULL STOP.
A certain number of generations ago, there were two men would do anything in order to protect each other. The best of friends. And then, centuries later, the many times great grandsons of these two men will go out of their way to kill one another, and in the name of what? Their government? Their religion? Two things which have absolutely no bearing on who they are. If they could just remember their forefathers, if only they could remember the love they knew. Instead, their consciences are clouded by the inescapable grasp of politics and the hate of religion.

We had some bad influence on the path of our history, but we have also picked the ball wich was given in our hands and ran with it ourselves. bump -- i went thru this thread w/tears in my eyes also -- if they would just leave us alone... we know how to love ... obviously [ crying] -- thanks Limor

"We love you too, your words have reached us, Despite the censorship" wrote one of the surfers from Iran. "The Iranian people, with the exception of the government, do not hold any grudge or animosity towards anyone, especially not for Israel ... We have never considered Israelis to be our enemies. Therefore, the regime will not be able to mobilize the nation to war. the hostility, invented by the regime's propaganda will dissipate pretty soon. The Ayatollah will die soon. Hello Latte (and John, just noticed your post above :)
Very nice intention by Lord Sid and Roya. without wanting to ruin the idea, Other nobel peace prize winners are: Al gore, President Obama, Yaser Arafat, Shimon Peres (last two are members of secret societies) , International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) - Mohamed ElBaradei, United Nations (U.N.) - Kofi Annan etc.
The international commitee for peace prize has different definitions for individualls who are so called promoting world peace by their actions/messages than most of us in Avalon do
The real prize is the pure desire of many around the world to speak with their heart and to use their brain to go back to the path that was intended for us in the first place. Ronny and Michal are such a couple, and there are many many more like Project Camelot and David Icke etc, etc.. they all deserve it, but I bet they will be satisfied with seeing the world change, the truth comes out and the people being granted their freedom.
Here are a few more examples of 'peace warriors':

"This (see link above) is my beautiful girlfriend and me in Rosh Hanikra (Israel). She is Israeli and I'm Iranian living in Germany. We met each other in a kibbutz and are together since then.
Our biggest wish is peace and love between our countries like it's between us and we don't think our governments are representing us at all. I hope i can take her one day to Iran and introduce her to all my... family.
As I've been to Israel for quite a long time, i noticed the Israeli people have much more in common with me than i thought. And the other way around too. Almost every israeli person i've met was surprised in a positive way by my appearance. It was the best time in my life and I miss Israel a lot. I wish every Iranian citizen in the whole world had the chance to visit Israel at least once in her/his life and the other way around, it's worth it.
I'll stand up to prevent a war between my homeland and the country i fell in love with. Peace and love for the whole world!"

On my drive home from work yesterday evening, I heard that Canada has closed it's embassy in Iran and told all Canadians within Iran to get out...and we kicked out the Iranian embassy people here in Canada. Many people think this is a sign of something big coming down the pike (an attack on Iran by Israel may be very close).

Yes, Spellbound, Strong winds of war are blowing in the Middle East. the dark energies are playing their (not so) subtle game on the minds of the people, and the people mostly react with a survival mode, but also dare to raise this question : WHY ??
And in the meantime, Israelis and Iranians alike say : "We are NOT ready to die in YOUR WAR"

I have an Iranian friend who encouraged me to do a little digging online to find out about the real Iran. I was surprised to find that Iran happens to be a lot more modern than we give it credit for as well as having a wealth of important historic sites. For some reason I had thought of Iran as some sort of backward nation where everyone hates the west and wants to do harm. The reality could not be further from the truth, they are a warm and welcoming people, not so very different from you or I and I am embarrassed to have thought otherwise without doing a little searching for myself.

Interesting post , with in mind that The Vatican Controls 33rd degree Freemason Nethanyahu and Jesuit trained Shimon Peres , they also control The Leaders of the Middle East through the Masonic controlled Muslim Brotherhood . There is a Knight of Malta that controls the Muslim brotherhood and his name is Felice Palavincini (Powerful Wealthy Roman Banking family)
I know most of you are now doubting if i should visit a mental doctor , no people its the cold truth
Infact almost all leaders on this planet are controlled by the Vatican in some sort of way and the disinfo in the mainstream media is going on and on , misinforming the masses with controlled opposition lies.
I love this initiative of these Israeli people , very good and i'm glad to see that it gets so much attention on Avalon.
There is nothing wrong with The Shia Iranian people , but again Ahmedinejad may look an innocent man but he is the greatest threat of all Iranians just as Mammoud Abbas is a Threat for all Palestinians and Shimon Peres and Nethanyahu are a threat for all Israeli people ! I can proof it , i will make a Threat on this soon.
Study the Grandmaster of The Scottish Rite Freemasonry Albert Pike he designed 3 worldwars 141 years ago , he was again controlled by a Jesuit named Jean Pierre de Smet

ArtyCarl, from the beginning we were brainwashed against one another for the benefit of separation, it is time to end this illogical thinking. There is a lot we can learn about from the many cultures and many people around the world, but one thing will always come up - we all have much in common with each other, we share the same interest, we are special beings living on a special place and we need to respect it and one another.
Hello, WAOF, Avalon is one place where you will not be sent to a mental doctor when expressing such claims, most members here do their "homework". the Jesuit order seems to be the big power behind the curtains which is pulling the strings. Another one to mention is Stanley Fischer, The minister of finance of Israel, brought especially from the US, a declared member of the CFR and part of the Billderberg group. so, no big surprises here.
This thread is about love and understanding, it is about reducing the gaps, taking the opposite, more sane side from that which we were being fed.
There is a (small) voice within young people in Israel that is insistent to spread this message. About two month ago eight people from the world movement - 'Revolution of love' threatened to jump from the most popular mall in Tel Aviv to raise the message of change. I do not myself feel that delivering the message in such a way would eventually get the sympathy of the crowd, but, the statment behind it has its place and an important one. On the leaflets they throw to the passersby they wrote:
"Do you know the feeling when you're on the edge of an abyss, the feeling that you have reached the end? This is how we feel, Life has so much potential, things could be better for all of us, if only we would learn to live together and respect each other.
But instead, look at what we've done? Instead of living like one human family, we've built walls between us. Instead of giving we take from each other. We're stressed, trying to survive, (living) at an unhealthy pace that causes depression.
Does anyone care??? We care. We care a lot. We haven't found any other way to reach you hearts… We apologize if someone's feelings were hurt by us and this extreme act. And please don't hate us because our intentions are pure. Most people will watch television tonight after everything is over. Tomorrow will see business as usual.
We are resigning ourselves to this fate like it isn't our responsibility to change it. There is no way that this life was meant to be war. Something feels very wrong, and we're sick of obeying it blindly.
If it stirs anything within you, you should show that you care. Sound a loud voice. Right now we're rushing towards moral, ecological, financial and security devastation."

Hi everyone.
I'm almost 55 years old, and they say old dogs can't learn new tricks. With the help of my Iranian friend and co-worker, I did. At work, I have developed, over the years, a prickly demeanor. I have a big mouth and I use it to stir up crap. I often make enemies at work because of it.
My friend showed me how to use my straight-up talk in a humorous way to make allies instead of enemies. And he did this for me after I used my old tactics on him. But instead of getting mad at me or shunning me or making my work life a misery, he took me under his wing. This man is incredibly charismatic and everyone likes him. Now, when I don't like what someone is doing I make a joke of it and soon things right themselves.
It has changed my life and I am grateful to this man of Iranian decent.
So stop the war-mongering. Iranians, I love you. May you live in peace.

Love removes boundries , hatress build them even inside the same country.
This movement lost momentum a few years ago (maybe it did help though by postponing their plans since they need the people's consent, whether conscious or subconscious, to move forward w/ war). Please let's give it the energy it needs to thrive this time! I know my family in Iran just wants to be free and peaceful. They want to be friends with the Israeli people.

Dear Limor,
What a wonderful thread you started.
Most people don't want or comprehend war and hate.
More wisdom is what we need in these times and I really feel we are getting there.

Many thanks, Orion197 and people who left their comments here. This issue touches our hearts more than anything. I was only the one to report about it.
Theses days things escalates again and hopefully love will win over fear. As people we only want to live our lives peacefully and to be acknowledged and acknowledge others, but there is so much more that we can do with each other, we can build a new world which is based on mutual purposes, cooperation and effection. And so it shall be

Overcoming despair to keep hope alive as Middle East war breaks out again

Amid a faltering US-lead peace process, war has broken out again in the decades-long Israel-Palestine conflict, and this time even the most fervent peace advocates seem disheartened.
Speaking with Buenosairesherald.com, Ronny Edry, an Israeli graphic designer that became worldwide known in 2012 for his “Israel Loves Iran” campaign cannot hide his despair for this “new cycle of war”. Edry’s advocacy began almost by accident, with a photo of him and his daughter with a message of love that he posted on Facebook, and then turned into a global movement for peace and in a full-fledged organization called the Peace Factory.
Tension between Palestine and Israel has mounted in the past couple of weeks after the kidnapping and killing of three Israeli teens, followed by a revenge murder of a 16-year old Palestinian youth who was burnt alive. The killings led to a surge of violence with rocket launchings into Israel and air strikes in the Gaza strip.
Edry answers the videoconference call from Buenosairesherald.com at his home, in Tel Aviv, in a hot summer night, right after making plans to find refuge for his family in bomb shelters. “Today is a bad day,” he says, unnecessarily apologising for his gloomy mood.
“But it is like this every summer in Israel: it is hot, it is sweaty and it is war, always,” he adds with a bitter laughter.
In times when everyone seems to be calling for revenge and blood, you post a Facebook picture reminding your “friends on the other side of the fence” [referring to the about 500 km-long wall that separates Israel from the Palestines in the West Bank] that you love them. How does that work?
Not so good so far. The situation right now is quite intense. We are in the middle of a cycle of intense violence, you can really feel it from the Arab side but also from the Israeli side.
It is hard, because the minute you say something you have thousands coming after you saying “Are you blind?” or “They’re trying to kill us and you are friends with them?”.
It’s been over two years since you started actively campaigning for peace, what have you achieved so far?
We opened a door for people to realize that they’re not alone, that there is someone on the other side. We make connections on the people level. Now it is rather common for Israelis to have friends in Lebanon, Iran, Palestine or Turkey when three years ago it was impossible. That’s the long run, that is, I think, how you change people’s minds. Slowly you show them that we are not that different.
We need the good people to stand up and get out and say something. The only voices are the bad voices. We need to make people realize that they can do something, that there is no curse forcing us to be forever at war.
[B]How would you describe the general feeling on Israel’s streets these days?
[Political] leaders are tapping on people’s pain to get more votes. Instead of easing down the situation and showing leadership and that they can make the ones responsible for the teens crimes pay and work on a long term solution, they did the opposite: they blamed Hamas, they bombed Gaza and they just started the war that we are having now.
And the same thing happens on the other side. All governments and the Hamas leadership are working on the same direction. It is almost like they were working together, like they had the same agenda, to get us all killed at the end of the day. They just want to kill each other, not a solution.
