I went directly from Whitley's newsletter to your site. You're right! Lots of interesting info. You certainly devoted a lot of time to your research and covered a lot of ground all the way back to the possible link between the tribe of Dan and Ba'albeck.

I noticed that as well. I does kind of make you wonder what the symbolism is there. It kind of fits with the Roman value of gladiatorial sports. During Justinian I reign the Nika riots occurred. This is the same reference as Nike sneakers. Nike was the nymph or god of victory and this is what the rebels shouted as they burned Constantinople. "Nika" or "Win." Justinian invited them all to the hippodrome to "negotiate" and then had all 30,000 of them slaughtered. The hippodrome in Constantinople had two Egyptian obelisks as well as the famous Tripod statue from Delphi Greece in the stadium. They are still there today right near the Hagia Sophia. During the filming of the movie "Ben Hur" a stuntman was killed while filming the Chariot race scene at the hippodrome (a movie set) and the studio actually paid his widow to include the actual footage in the movie. When you watch that movie you are actually seeing someone die.

Hi Cort,
Great interview and very thought provoking information. The secrets needing to be revealed are astounding as researchers such as yourself continue to delve into the meaning of symbols, geometry etc. Thank you :)

Hi Cort, thanks for sharing your information much of it was new to me. I was wondering if you were aware of how the Chinese culture uses the octagon. The shape is called a bagua and is used in taoist cosmology to represent the fundamental principles of reality. It is also used in fung shui to help harmonize a structure or the lay of the land. I am not surprised Jefferson picked up on it's powerful influences.

G'day Cartomancer,
Thanks for that plus all the work up on your site, quite a fascinating lazy Sunday afternoon diversion it has been so far. A question if I may. From the research you've done to date do you feel that the Templars et al have a primary marker for the entire globe, a GMT like starting point if you will, off which all others relate and if so where is it?
cheers
Update: Ignore that I just continued reading and assume you believe it would be the giza complex etc...:o

It does look like among the many other functions of the Great Pyramid is its use as a datum or place from which to measure. It may not be necessary for any subsequent axes to be tied into it in an exact manner but some of them do work like that. So far it seems like an axis can be founded anywhere as long as they can measure its relationship to Giza by having elements of the new axis point there. Many axes also point to Baalbek including the Louvre Pyramid (and the older Louvre Palace also)and Baltimore World Trade Center. It may be they could log shadow angles and lengths at different points on the earth and compile them later to calculate the time difference between those points. I have been reading some references to 48 significant zones as defined by an axis in Templar terms. The GPOG, Baalbek, and Hagia Sophia are very close to even latitudes as measured today. More coming up on that in the next book! Thank you for checking out what I'm up to.

I am just getting into the eastern applications of this and I'm sure that this will add new information as to how the western world uses it. Feng Shui is interesting in that they used a magnetic compass to arrange items long before it was used to navigate (according to the standard line). There is a lot of evidence to suggest that they did use it to navigate and produce accurate maps and globes whose use remained a secret. This was cutting edge stuff for the day. The way you describe the bugua reminds me of the Etruscans and Greeks who had a directional system that designated a deity for each important direction. Some people think the Etruscans could draw accurate maps as far back as 900BC.
