Is this a way to push through laws to control the internet e.g. SOPA and to get people to agree to give up their Internet freedom?

Internet gives strength to "we the people" dramatically beyond anything else humanity has experienced.

Questions???

I'm sorry to say this, but those guys are stupid. It's not gonna be beneficial to anybody except those who control us if they continue this web terrorism.

To late. Jobs already been done (as in total lockdown)....

Thank all those psycopathic corporations and yuppies lapping up the IPV6 based WEB 2.0 just to be able to push/download their favourite pile of tripe that much faster... this in exchange for TPTW being able to tell when the said yuppie last chose to make toast or did a load of washing or took a shower.

I mean your a no-one unless you got the latest right... like high speed Hi Definition displays of hollywood bimbos telling you what to wear or being able to TWAT or FARCEBOOK or STAMMER incoherant myopic dribblings that much quicker making you feel your obviously desolate lives are somehow better connected all in exchange for the really cheap price of mere TOTAL LIFESTYLE TRACKING.

Think through the smart grid concept MORONS...

You mean, like they took down Facebook, not to mention all those other heroic deeds of civil disobedience?
I am nervous already.

:)

Who are they serving?

Themselves, they hope. Both of them.

Well they got to slow us all down, add confusion and what not.

I think the cat is out of the bag, with the public however...
All the public needs is proof in their putting, fools day on steroids.

Just in case of a web-exodus, though, it's been good to know y'all....

So this is on April 1st? An attack on government sites - who are not known for working weekends so all they would do is disable something which isn't used.

Does this seem a bit strange to anyone? Perhaps the government orchestrated this to make anonymous look like terrorists... again, on one of their least busy days of the week... and on a very specific day.

Maybe there is another answer to this - anonymous may only be simply sowing the seeds of destruction, and the government will panic and shoot themselves in the foot by denying service to its customers for no reason. This could just be a testing of the waters... after all the best way to disrupt an organisation is to let them destroy themselves from within.

The REAL Anonymous isn't about taking down the internet. Remember, they're trying to free us from the tyranny. So, this sounds like a hijack to me.... and similar to the US govt's plans to shutdown the internet if they can't completely control it....

Nope - dont think corporate ammerika will stand for it... would cut too deep into interdepartmental emails, and online sales, etc.

You get the most coherent rant on Avalon award. Couldn't agree more. The only curious thing about Anonymous is the fact that it would be so easy to do something screwed up like take down the internet and then blame it on them or simply claim you are them. Anyone can buy a computer and a Guy Fawkes mask including the NSA etc. There's no way to tell if the "real" Anonymous is behind this.

I say, this group is who they are and if the masses/population/people wish to be free from "tyranny", then the masses/population/people should do for themselves - not wait for another to make claim to be doing this for them.

Freedom is simple and easy to do - it costs nothing other then commitment and some sacrifice (until a new equilibrium is established) - anything other is nothing more then for feel-good by the masses/population/people and for the benefit of "the few".

Its important to remain skeptical with some of these. Remember anyone anywhere can roll under the banner of anonymous, and do anything they want, including making fake threats which serve absolutely no purpose what so ever.

Absolutely agree. The real Anonymous is all about no restrictions of the internet. IMO this is way out of character and makes no sense, so I must conclude a Hijack.

If they are going to take down the Domain Name System (DNS) isn't it a good precaution to let this community know the IP adres of the Project Avalon site so we can reach it even if the DNS service doesn't work anymore?????
Stan Deyo did the same for his site.

"There's no way to tell if the "real" Anonymous is behind this. " anonymous is not a group. They are not a "they". And, as has been stated above, they are all about the opposite of "taking the internet down". Great propaganda.

w8eHN68XSt8 "Imagine" also concerned with anonymous - also propaganda, but maybe not disinformation. Take a look.

If this should be on a different thread let me know.

Krullenjongen, I agree. I was on standeyo.com yesterday and noticed he was giving out his IP address in case the servers go down. WHAT IS THE IP ADDRESS FOR PROJECT AVALON?

So now, just because Infowars runs this ridiculous story, all of a sudden it's true? This has already happened a while back with Anon being the scapegoat, so now they are attempting it with Lulzsec- what a joke. Read this thread-in its' entirety(only 2 pages)- to see how this was attempted before.

http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?41146-Internet-vulnerability-surviving-a-DNS-attack.

I hope people realize who is behind this and why- it's fear mongering and a setup for internet regulation- nothing more, nothing less. TPTB really are desperate at this point if they expect us to believe this.

Do a Google search for "what is the ip address of a website".

It will show you a number of sites willing to give you the IP address of any website, including this one.

But just using that IP address in your browser's address bar, in place of the forum's URL (projectavalon.net) will not work, if and exactly when your DNS server can no longer resolve the forum's URL.

Like many "fancier' websites, way too much of the site is downloaded in pieces, requiring repeated DNS lookups, which is how URL's are translated to IP addresses. You'll need to be able to put the IP address into your hosts file or otherwise into your DNS service. That's not that hard, but I doubt most members know how to do it.

100% infiltrated, and designed to tighten the internet.

How easy would it be for a govt. to infiltrate an anonymous organisation? IMO this has absolutely nothing to do with the 'real' anon or lulzsec - it's a blatant attempt to remove, change or control our greatest tool of freedom of speech - the internet

Bless you, b/ros
