You couldn´t get much better than Holmgren or Mollison. I met David Holmgren a few years back. He has a wonderful set up in country Victoria.

I would add to your list Sepp Holzer, his permaculture for temperate regions is legend. Two books translated into english are: The Rebell Farmer

Sepp Holzer is a unique character and I enjoyed reading his book "The Rebell Farmer" where he writes about his fights against bureaucracy
and seemingly silly laws in my country...nice story: A friend of mine did the tour through his property listening to Sepp´s talks. He asked another friend if he could take a
picture of something. Sepp Holzer yelled at him: "If you want to talk to your friend you can go home and do that, but now I am talking."
What a lovely guy ;-)

provides very good information on how Permaculture systems are working. From A to Z

The Self-Sufficient Life and How to Live It by John Seymour

you cant do wrong with this 2 books...I nearly work 100% with them

My goal is to build a food garden on my house property at a small village and fixing the house costs zero dollar for heating entire year. I'll work with an old cousin who spent entire his life as a farmer. What I want to learn from him is the knowledge of plants, fruits, and soils. When I talked about permaculture to him briefly, he showed me so so response. This year will be a challenge to me.

The village was almost destroyed. But there are farm lands. The mountain around the village covered with hundreds of graves thanks to death worship rituals. Most farm lands are filled with industrialized green houses that burn a lot of fuel to maintain temperature and use chemical fertilizers to grow vegetables for money. It is not farming but exploitation of nature. Those farmers look happy cause they make good money at least even though they work like machines year round.

Cozy house, enough food for whole year, then I can see stars in the night, walk to the forest in the day. Occasional sunbath in the garden. What should I need more? Once I have the Free Energy generator, ah...
