'Republican Governor Mitch Daniels has signed Senate Enrolled Act 1 into law in Indiana. The new law allows citizens to use deadly force against police officers they think are illegally entering their homes. Earlier this month, Addicting Info reported that the bill had passed the Senate. Republicans say the bill is designed to keep police safe, but Democrats say the bill will lead to the wanton killing of police officers.
Rep. Craig Fry, a Democrat, says the bill “is going to cause people to die and it’s too late after somebody dies for a jury to sort it out. Somebody’s going to die, whether it’s a police officer or an individual who thinks a police officer is entering their home unlawfully. People are going to die.”'

If I knew where (and if) state lines would end up when this is all over I'd say: "Time to move back to Indiana."

Is there really a problem with cops entering homes illegally?

Citizens are always mistreated if they are disadvantaged. We live by that definition in almost every respect, this is but a microcosm of correcting an imbalance.
While we owe a huge debt of gratitude to our police forces, that work tirelessly for very low pay, it is always helpful to be reminded they are not above the law, specifically us, they serve to protect and enforce.

Well perhaps the cops will think twice before they bash someone's door in now. At least make sure they have the correct address.

Considering that Dept of Homeland Security is training our law enforcement to treat all of us as terrorists, this new bill is an equalizer. All states should have it.
Then, I think DHS needs to be defanged and defunded. Maybe even decommissioned....This gone-wild organization has worn out its welcome and its uses (if there ever was a need for them in the first place.....)

You took the words right out of my mouth. I just got done saying the same thing on a different thread.

Who knew U.S.citizens were going to be the new enemy, right?
No, I have to say more than this you guys... we are going to fight and have wars, and more wars on our hands as we run out of natural resources. I don't want to be redundant here but the following link is so poignant that I'm going to repost it in this thread just to shake us out of whatever we are thinking. I can tell you this, if these guys who want to overthrow the government aren't absolute sustainable green freaks, I don't want them.

This is so important... we must get a grip here, in the US.
