No! I'm not going anywhere!

In light of the recent posts informing us of another individual's choice to leave, I need to say that it's just exhausting and sad to watch. However, I understand that there's a time and season for everything on our journeys, so I don't have any ill feelings towards anyone.

I woke up this morning w/ a need to say to all of you "No! I'm not going anywhere. This is my time and my season to be on PA." (Just for a change of pace!)

Ironically, the first post I saw this morning was another "farewell" post. The universe has a wicked sense of humor.....

I dont want anyone to leave as my brain needs a constant stimulation from annoying human beings. I love the challenge here and we ALL will learn so much from this experience; the more we disagree with one another the more we learn and the more our bodies get flooded with increased blood flow due to high blood pressure caused by necessary anger and frustration.

If you get disillusioned then just go do something else for awhile and then come back if you want to. No one is forcing you to log on but quitting seems to be making a statement of some sort.

I have no intention of going anywhere. Even though I don't post as often as others, I feel any contribution is important.

With a few 'key' members leaving recently, I began to feel a little perturbed. Maybe this is the best possible course of action for them. They have outgrown the nest, so to speak. It was time for them to spread their wings and stop preaching to the choir. Perhaps these people had little more to gain from experiencing this place, and so where given a gentle nudge to move on. Perhaps they were moving into a space where it is necessary to be more proactive, or physical in their intentions.

It is sad, but isn't that just the Ego talking?

I have thought several times of jumping ship . . . .especially lately. I’m like the “red headed step-child” around here and I fully realize I am a thorn in many people’s sides.

But I’m always reminded of what I said in my application when I applied to be a member of Avalon, which in part was that I would offer a different view on many subjects and perhaps provide a bit more balance. Also as an older female it is my responsibility to teach the younger or at least offer the knowledge I have gleaned over the years. Many older people just fade away and “retire” from life all together and have the attitude “I had to learn on my own so let the younger struggle too”.

So sorry guys. . . you are stuck with me . . . thorns and all :p

hehe.....funny thing is that half the time I couldn't agree with him when he was president. Now, it's so much harder to fake the nod/smile because a lot of people remember GWB too fondly for me. A lot of them were out there complaining right along w/ me throughout Bush's presidency that GWB was a big government guy. Now, they've are chasing after GWB's twin, Santorum, like he's going to save the Republican Party (sigh...) They really don't want to remember how much they hated GWB too - tho for different reasons - than my liberal friends. In 2000, there was a big push for Bush in the Primary and I just couldn't go "ga ga" for the guy because that's who the machine wanted. And since I worked for part of the machine, that's all I heard. "GWB is great. Oh, he's the best. Ugh!" Drove me nuts back in the day! I kept thinking, let me figure that out for myself. Voted McCain in that primary and I still remember how pissed people were when Bush lost the primary in MI. I had a big smile on my face that next day! It always feels good to send the machine into a tizzy! Peace.
