"DemocracyNow.org - Democracy Now! broadcasts from Chicago,
site of the largest NATO summit in the organization's six-decade history.
On Sunday, veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, as well as members
of Afghans For Peace, led a peace march of thousands of people.
Iraq Veterans Against the War held a ceremony where nearly 50 veterans
discarded their war medals by hurling them down the street in the direction
of the NATO summit. We hear the soldiers' voices as they return their medals
one by one from the stage. "I am giving back my global war on terror service
medal in solidarity with the people of Iraq and Afghanistan," said Jason Heard,
a former combat medic who spent 10 years in the U.S. Army. 'I am deeply
sorry for the destruction that we have caused in these countries and around the globe.' "

If fifty people showed up for this medals ceremony there must be thousands who could not come. Our run-a-way government has taken away honor and dignity from our military experience and this is why we have so many suicides amongst veterans.

Honor, dignity, pride and a sense of true service to country and humanity is the psychological defense for a military person to do the things that they are callled to do without sef destructing.

Wonderful POST! Maybe there will be less demonizing of US Troops on this site and fear mongering. These are volunteer soldiers who experienced war after barely getting out of their teenage child like years of innocence and playing war games on their video game console. War IS HELL on earth and they now KNOW it... hearing it and experiencing it especially for young men and women are light years apart. Our troops took an oath that most of them take seriously... to defend our Constitution and American people from all threats foreign and domestic. It is the dark cabal secret armies of Mercs that we have to worry about. I am proud of these soldiers as these metals honor and remind them of the blood sweat and tears shed by them and their friends on the battle field. We need to provide them the help they deserve returning to civilization with PTSD and other physical scars to fit back in society without being discriminated against or treated like a threat. They need the love and support.... and UNDERSTANDING of their families, friends and society to help with the reintegration.

At 10:45 there is someone saying very true things. I like the video very much.
Not that I do like those people had to have those experiences, but it's
the most important thing people see what's truly happening in the world
and they don't want to be part of it anymore. And especially those soldiers.

As Albert Einstein said: “The pioneers of a warless world are the youth that refuse military service”.

It would be great if the youth refuse military service instead of soldiers being
part of these useless wars first and becoming aware of wars being useless
afterwards.
